I have three Terminator miniatures left to paint, but I don't feel like painting right now. How do you motivate yourself to paint?

I play games at least once a week and I don't play games with unpainted miniatures.

You should try painting them in blocks/units. Basecoat all, then do the layering, shading, detail, trim for all of them at once. You get to see them come together as a unit and you also maintain consistency better. Less chance of missing details on one if you are doing it with others. You’ll also feel more motivation to complete them all vs one at a time.
I don’t mind painting but assembling guard stuff is the worst. Especially tanks and magnetizing stuff. How do you stay motivated to assemble stuff?

I always find that when I need to do something, seeking validation from strangers always gives me the motivation to go buy stuff that I should use for hobbying. My serious answer is a question. Do you paint because you like it, or do you paint just to get minis on the table? Liking the process goes a long way. "Motivation" is a fleeting and unreliable feeling. Discipline is how things get accomplished. If you want them to be done, go do them.

Have your supplies all ready to go, it's a lot easy to unwind at the end of the day and do some painting if you can just sit down and get started right away. 2. If you're like me and don't enjoy it as much, don't feel too much pressure to make it look amazing. It is better to paint for the Emperor than to procrastinate for oneself.
