You know, it really is crazy to think that when Kevin Siembieda of Palladium Books released Heroes Unlimited in 1984, they managed to put out not just a complete game, but laid the groundwork for everything that was to come over the following several decades.I've always liked the theory that RIFTS in its golden age before The Cataclysm was the world of Heroes Unlimited several decades in the future. Its a shame that they Retconned this a decade later after the inital release of Chaos Earth, which is why we choose to view it as just another Alternative Earth, most likely due to a retard Shifter. It really is crazy how they actually managed to make something thats stood the test of time.
>>98576121RIFTS was too fucked up even for me.
i cant be thinking that champions the crossover could have been for palldium without the involvement.the fuzion was mistake.
>>98577263Isn't Champions/Hero System 99% character creation autism?
>>985790612e Champions is GreatThe Hero split really is like fanfiction
>Do you guys actually use the palladium system to run rift or something else?Depends on whether you want to emulate Old Palladium or New Palladium systems.Usually, the shortest way to come to that answer is to decide if you want low stat number to incur an additional penalty to rolls, as it was mostly absent outside of the core books prior to RUE with a few acceptions.
One of the variant rules we played around with to make it feel more Supers was having SDC (Structural Damage Capacity) and Hit Point pools as a fixed defense, similar to Champions force fields or damage reduction to extra SDC
