Tell me, which rule set is the best for the 100 years war in 10mm? And don't say hail Caesar. Also regarding bases, which games have cavalry facing the short side or the long of the base? I would like to make the models compatible with warmaster without looking them away from other systems.

Curious to what you guys would consider a good skirmish rule set. I originally was thinking about pillage but I have seen complaints on here and other places that it's not that good. Is barons war good? I have a nephew who is interested in historical narrative skirmish games (preferably ancient to medieval) and would welcome any suggestions. Yes I know I'm faggot for asking this question.
