Imagine the Colonials from All Tomorrows but round and covered in filth with vestigial limbs, constantly excreting fluids of all kinds while making all kinds of noises, some of which you understand as pleas for death or mercy etc. And all of them are men, women, children etc. And they can't die naturally, they just keep growing and regrowing the parts lazily hacked off of them.
