Why don't I just pocket the million? Its not like the nerds need the money
>>
>>98623659
Gonna need some context here.
Did something happen at MWG?
>>
are we supposed to know who this guy is?
>>
>>98623771
No one has gotten the kick starter they did and they are laying everyone off and sold their location and they raised a million for ravaged star
>>
I doubt they pocketed it, but they might of done some shady shit like use the money to pay off some other debt or something like that. Seems like they've made a bunch of bad financial decisions over the years that are all catching up finally.
>>
It was really funny to watch Dave take to minutes in that video to explain, "I have no skills, and do nothing at this company, which unfortunately led me to do nothing about the Kickstarter."

They're SO fucking Mormon. The idea that you can have the co-lead of your company be your childhood friend who brings nothing to the table but uhhh *checks notes* his excitement? Even though he's always been a midwit theatre kid tier hype man anyway. Not even good at his one job.
>>
>>98623775
Genuinely.
This is just, as far as I can tell, some guy.
>>
>>98624263
Mormonism really is satanic, they are always caught up in some horrible scandal, like that Lego shit or running those Synanon derivative pederast cult schools that torture "bad kids" to defraud the government out of healthcare funds meant for addition.
>>

Same so I went and looked for MWG.
Leaf youtube idiots bungle a big kick starter.

>They actually are near me.
I feel odd finding out now. I'm not sure if I would have financially supported them.
At least MWG got Wargames Atlantic to release The Damned models. So they did something good. Also their tutorials were nice for me starting out.
There is a chance that they're moving house because the homeless numbers are rising. I'd call that chance low though but it is there no matter what.
>t. Google says I only need 33 minutes of bus ride time to get there

Anyways don't harass them. I'm gonna lie and deny using this site if you somehow run into me in real life while I am at an LGS. Normies will assume the worst if they find out.
But you can earn my friendship through giving me +500 USD free money or a safe to eat cooked broccoli and cheese chicken kiev.
>>
>>98624275
If you're here as a wargamer (and not a RPGfag) and don't know who this fag and his partner are you're genuinely ignorant

They trailblazed wargaming content on youtube. It doesn't matter if you think wargaming youtube is bad or not, because it's still culturally, socially and economically relevant
>>
>>98624488
Did Miniwargaming have a golden age? Or were they just one of the earliest miniature painting/wargaming channels that hit social media?
>>
>>98624370

Spiky bits is literally AIDS though
>>
>>98624530
One of the earliest channels with high quality video production in an age where most people just had blurry shaky cams and no editing. These days they are not only dime a dozen, but have been out-competed in quality and upload speed.

Nah, Dave was certainly a driving force for their growth. He was the face of the company, and I certainly cared more when a video involved him back around 2010. I never got too into wargaming content, it just fundamentally doesn't hold me, but Dave usually made it watchable. I'm certain that isn't an unique experience.

Otherwise what you said? Pretty on point imo
>>
>>98624934
This rat faced guy looks untrustworthy
>>
>>98624530
They've always kind of sucked and been weird, due to the Mormon thing. Like they can't swear or acknowledge that a model has big boobs. MWG Dave can be like, "Raaaaargh! I love CHAAAAOS!!" but it doesn't quite hit when you know he's strictly forbidden from drinking coffee.

If it wasn't for that element, they would be normal nerds (with stereotypically annoying nerd qualities) and YMMV over how enjoyable you'd find that to watch.

Dave is an ADHD theatre kid type who needs to be the centre of attention and will derail things to achieve it. Matt is a mega autist with bizarre opinions and preferences about rules, and is also a very poor sport who gets pissy and rants about bad luck and OP rules if a game starts going against him.

Their weirdo hirelings were always more interesting than they were themselves (although Mormon skepticism prevented me from truly enjoying any of them).

But they care about wargaming in genuine (and, again, sometimes stereotypically annoying) ways and never felt like fakes or posers. They also weren't cucked to GW like so many influencers are now to keep their free merch flowing. MWG's biggest moment was probably when they exposed GW's toxic LGS policies and then eventually shut their store down and went full youtube.
>>
>>98625161
you really seem to care about that mormon thing
>>
>>98624934
Youtubers always seem to go bust or complain about not being able to make any money when all they do is overcommit to the channel and produce less content at a higher cost.

I swear everytime one of these guys gets a little famous and opens a patreon they go from producing weekly videos to maybe once every two months.
>>
Having 12 employees for a youtube channel is baffling to me. Same with that australian cunt who fired 4 people or something. You're making toy soldiers fight each other on camera what the fuck do you need 12 people for? So you can push out MORE videos that average 1k views? Patreon was a mistake.
>>
You aren't guaranteed anything if you back a kickstarter.
>>
>>98625161
That's a retarded standard. Liking fiction doesn't mean it reflects your life. It's the same stupid idea that playing nazis in a game makes you a nazi.
>>
>>98625434
Hello, defensive christfag.

Being a practicing, true-believer member of an extremist, evangelist cult/religion does indeed disqualify you from liking fiction that your cult, to which you tithe material support, would ban outright if ever given the power to do so. At least it disqualifies you from doing so without being called weird, annoying hypocrites faggots, which is what the MGM guys are.

But this is ever the story of the religious/conservative. Nobody in their fold makes any art of note or value, so they must selectively consume art made by people they would jail or kill in their supposed ideal society.
>>
>>98625370
I am guaranteed the right to shit talk anyone who fumbles their kickstarter though. Especially when it is successful.
I didn't back MWG though.
>>98625518
NTA but I don't believe MWG were really preaching their beliefs even subtly. Unless they were you're coming across as straight out of 2011 r/atheism on being offended when you sneeze and get told "bless you" and then being anti-religious going too far focusing only on Christian ones and ignoring that other religions exist.
>>
>>98625518
FICTION ISN'T REAL RETARD.
>>
>>98625370
You aren't guaranteed to be murdered if you steal people's money, but hopefully it will happen all the same.
>>

Show me the practicing fundamentalist muslim warhammer youtube channel and i'll make fun of it too. There isn't one, because religious extremists in other countries actually make sacrifices for their beliefs and endure the privations. Treatlerite North Americans cannot go without their toys and entertainment.

MWG are not merely "culturally mormon," they are practicing members of the orthodox institution of their gay religion; they literally fund missionaries with their youtube channel. Seething christfag posts make me feel good.
>>

So it's tertiary shit. Gotcha.
>>
>>98625370
I think you are. Because they promise to make a certain thing for the money you pledge. Thats a deal.
The only thing is, the site Kickstarter are not responsible. And the question is if the project still has money you can sue them for and if legal fees are higher than what you invested.
No wonder so many kickstarter are scams, it is quite easy for them to get away.
>>
>>98625576
I'm only voicing my observation due to your conduct that gives off r/atheism vibes. It was highlighted in a different thread, but the old "this side can't make art" is weird because "modern artists" were making slop like unpainted canvases in museums or a red line over dark blue selling for millions. Then now that AI is here suddenly this is too far and not art?
I don't like AI sloppers acting like they're any better when they're putting out their slop beyond a joke or to be taken seriously. Nor do I like modern artists. I think modern artists are a pompous bourgeois coded clique of grifters.
>Seething christfag posts make me feel good.
You know "own the libs" mentality but libs being replaced with religious people isn't a good look, right? You'll look really weird if you double down on this.
>>
>>98625220
they make the mistake of thinking that because there is patreon money coming in they need to increase the production values, which in the mind of the midwit means hiring production staff and editors. these are ongoing costs that enslave them to a minimum monthly income just to keep the lights on. when in reality all they "needed" to do was upgrade their camera and mic (fixed one time costs) and keep on trucking with almost zero overheads. the other thing these retards do as soon as there's a whiff of paypig money around is to build a set that they can blogpost in. their channel was kino when they were a faceless sperg yapping about terrain building a mini painting. building a set and facefagging for 50% of the video in it is the worse thing they could do, but it's the default move for these people.
>>
>>98624488
>They trailblazed wargaming content on youtube
I don't watch wargaming videos online. They're, truthfully, pretty boring. I've probably seen this dude, went "wow that's boring" and clicked off.
So I ask you again, who is this guy. What has he done beyond talk into a camera?
>>
>>98625605
Modern art is effectively all meta commentary on art, both on the general concept of artistry and also how someone interacts with art.

Take, for example, Maurizio Cattelan's Comedian. You know this statue, even if you do not know Maurizio Cattelan or the name of the piece. It's the Banana duct taped to the wall. You know this piece of art, even if you do not recognize it as a piece of art. Part of what makes it art, in the context of modern art, is the fact that people are arguing over if this can even be classified as art.

That said, I'll admit, it is pompous. It's art nerds talking to other art nerds about what art even is. It's a circlejerk. Most art circles are and always have been.

That said, to your core point - it is incredibly childish for people to act like their ideological enemies are incapable of art or have no internality or what have you. For example - I think Jon McNaughton sucks, both as an artist and as a person. But even though I think his art is dimwitted, servile and uninspired, but importantly he is out here making art.

He's the most shameless, insincere talentless warhammer content creator to ever exist.

>>98625577
Mormons aren't christian, they don't believe in the trinity as decided under Constantine. Further more they believe that man can ascend to godhood and rule there own world after learning lessons in this life. They also believe Satan is Jesus brother. All these heresies preclude them from being christian. The core tenniant of Christianity is a universalist all powerful god. Even the Adoptionist of the 2nd and 3rd century who believe Jesus became one with god on the cross would challenge these aspects as being acceptable to a christian.

They are theologically closer to Islam than Christianity, honestly they are demonic and focus elevating man and their sins to the place of god. Its why they are always stealing or involved in some sex cult.

>Mormons aren't christian
They kinda are.
To be clear, I do not think that they're in communion with other christian sects. There is clearly some fundamentally different beliefs going on here.

Thing is that mormonism hasn't totally broken off of Christianity yet. It's gonna get there, but right now, there is enough connective tissue there that these are one thing.

I say this with total sincerity - you give it a century or two and Mormonism will be a distinct religion. But right now, it's just a prominent and weird christian cult.

>I think you are.
You are in fact not. It is extremely clearly laid out by Kickstarter. You are an investor in the potential of a product, and the reward for your investment comes in the form of the product that you have invested in, should the product come to fruition. But many of them do not and you have not guarantees, and you are in fact repeatedly warned of this face.
>Because they promise to make a certain thing for the money you pledge.
No, they promise to try. If you want to, you can try to sue on the basis that they did not try, but that's literally it. And then you can get the privilege of being very low down on a list of claimants on the bankrupcy proceedings.

It isn’t a no true Scotsmen

Mormonism may be derived by the same philosophical heritage but it has new prophets, redefines what god is, has crazy lore about North American native Jews and believes man’s goal is to ascend to godhod.

It’s a religion but not Christianity. If you weren’t a history illiterate Reddit atheist you’d see it. It’s as Christian as Marxism. He’ll Marxism may be more Christian than Mormonism with its universalism. It’s basically just a Franciscan Christianity that sets out to make the world whole itself instead of waiting for god.

It's just a clumsily coordinated market break-in effort. Not for the sake of any surface level nefarious cult stuff like that other anon said, it's a bit deeper than that.
Mormons so, so desperately want to be like the jews; coordinated financial stakes in as many markets as possible, influence through interconnected institutions, fingers in every pie and people in every hall of power, the full works of ingroup shadow-power.
The problem is that they aren't high iq schizo-autist ashkenazis with two millennia of culturally honed cunning. Rather they're the descendants of some of the dumbest whites that continental america could produce, self-selected by the retardation of their own mythology, working with less than two hundred years of set up.
So what their efforts at shadow power amount to various podunk corporations and local government services across Utah (this is why and how the lego thing happened), alongside a solid hand in the CIA and FBI [for which they do deserve credit]. More on topic, it's why their efforts to break into wargaming are a sad store-brand trench crusade knockoff with a bad documentary to market it.

nta but its not. Christianity rests on the deity of Jesus Christ, his prophetic fulfillment and his sacrificial atonement, thats the absolute minimum foundation of Christianity, whether its roman catholic/orthodox/protestant/nondenom etc. everything beyond that, theres room to argue which explains the various traditions and their conflicts, but mormons and jehovas witnesses do not believe in that foundation and cannot be considered Christians. If they had opened that themed hotel in downtown Toronto, and charged appropriate prices, I could see it doing a lot better.

Are there testimonials from anyone who has stayed in those cells? I'm so curious how they worked. Do they have 24/7 access? Can you leave your room in the middle of the night and get back in? Is there a concierge?

Lol i slept on the top of that bunkbed.
A few years ago, before TOW launched there was one last 8th edition warhammer fantasy tournament.
I didn't want to bother with actually searching for accommodations and split the room with another attendant so it was fairly cheap.
I thought the room were gimmicky and a bit tacky but nothing too crazy. Just another themed AirBnB.
The beds were clean and comfortable, the room was actually dark at night, and insulated well enough that despite many other players getting drunk and noisy during the night, i could sleep just fine. The bathroom was clean and i can't remember if it was themed or not. The shower worked well and a variety of soapbars and fresh towels were provided.
I did steal the little soaps my roomate didn't use (all of them).

Never met the guy before or after the event (he flew in from the UK, I drove in from Toronto). He was stocky and had a goatee to, I assume, delineate where his chin and neck were sipposed to be. He wore a grey sweater the whole time, whit his face disappearing into the hood, and his neck disappearing into his round and protruding torso.
I also remember that a bunch of the players were dressed very sloppily: hoodies, shorts, ill fitting t-shirts goddam fucking flipflops.

The only exceptions were Dr. Blaxill, who was wearing what seemed a costume for a remake of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, including some sort of maroon leopard print shawl under a leather jacket; and this Italian (or French?) guy who was wearing a button up shirt with a vest (!) and some way too elegant leather shoes. I remember jokingly telling him that he was way overdressed for the event, and he just told me in the most serious expression I've ever seen that "no, [he] didn't dress particularly well, [he] just dressed with dignity"

It was interesting

I'll say this though, while technically "Southern Ontario" Welland is truly very out of the way. The store would be cool to play with semi-regularly but

I'll add to this what I'm aware of.
MWG were working with Lazy Squire Games as silent partners or sub contractors on Ravaged Star,
Whenever LSG have come up MWG have simultaneously distanced themselves from LSG and defended them.

LSG scammed millions through Stormsunder on backerkit and Wild Assent on Gamefound.
They've been stringing backers along for years, I myself am all in on both pledges having followed King of Average's advice on the company since they had fulfilled before and Wild Assent was effectively a reprint.

LSG have done work for MWG in art and may be behind miniature design and fulfillment.

They have also worked with Scott Taylors Legend of the Keepers.
Being behind book layout and design and the go between for printing contacts in China.
(Which I didn't know at the time of backing).

I believe MWG had every intention of fulfilling, but didn't properly vet LSG and have paid the price for choosing poor partnership.

But it's not an hotel. It's more like an airbnb. So once you get your acces card, you can do whatever you want. All the rooms are on the same 2nd floor (kind of) but the only thing they share is the hallway.

were the game store and tables open 24/7? My game store would always start closing down at 10:30 and it was super lame

If you give your money to a Mormon, you shouldn't be surprised when they steal it. This is how they are. No refunds!

When Matt wanted to start the company he needed capital from Dave's lawn mowing business (this is literally what he did before MWG. Matt ran a shady small call centre operation from his basement).
That's it.

Dave and Matt give zero shits about wargaming, Dave got in shape and immediately tried to get into acting (forced the company to fund an entire movie, and it's shit, for a side character he played in some straight to TV f tier movie). He literally only wants an audience and gives zero shit how he gets it. Matt cares about wargaming as so far as it gets him paid. Both were too lazy to change their video format when it became clear 40k in 40 minutes was the future.

Bro you make this sound like a gay meet up

The game area is physically separated from the sleeping portion. They're on different floor with different entrances if i remember correctly.
At the time, a couple of people did stay in the gaming area till 3am. But I'm unsure if that was a special arrangement for the tournament, if it's indeed open 24/7, or if those people kust didn't leave the gaming area (which was completely unsupervised).

I mean... given that it was a warhammer fantasy tournament, that it was organized by the two people who run the square based youtube channel, that several of the attendees happened to be youtubers themselves...

>Baal worship>Rabbinic Judaism>Sabbatean Frankism>Freemasonry>Mormonism

Freemasonry is Baal worship for the goyim and Mormonism is just freemasonry codified into a religion for utter retards. Seethe all you want, but it has nothing to do with Christianity

I was certain this was going to end in a nocturnal sexual assault

Mormonism is just a greatest hits of ancient heresies.
You know how after the Gregorian reforms the religious authorities would ascribe various beliefs they'd read about in the ancient history of the church like Gnosticism and Messalianism to local resistance against the reforms.
Mormonism is the opposite of that, some half-read venal American accidentally reinventing Arianism, etc., out of pure stupidity.

Remind me that time I used to hire college girls to dress up in silly clothing while cleaning my place.
Eventually we played some Dark Heresy. Outside of one girl none of them like it, but at least they did not hate playing it.

Mormons have been super into wargaming since the LotR game came out, they love LotR more then Jesus but less then polygamy.

In short, these retards embarked on a business venture they didn't have the means to do and by the time they figured that out, they were already legally responsible to deliver the product.
So now they are scrambling to get it done and off their backs while paying their regular bills, when business is slowing down.
They are not the first or the last to step into this self made trap. The game will be delivered eventually, but by then nobody will give a shit and the delay has ensured it's dead on arrival.
