I don't really think GSC should be a fully distinct faction, if I'm being honest. But I also don't think Imperial Knights, Chaos Knights, Chaos Daemons, Custodes, or Grey Knights should be full distinct factions either. They should all be allied components of other factions at most.

I honestly keep forgetting they brought in the Votann until someone brings them up
>>
>>98624167
I’m the anon who told you to paint that, and I’m tempted to repent by painting my own for the retro collage. how much of a pain in the ass was that to paint?
>>
>>98624168
GSC should be distinct but should have ally rules with nids
Knights shouldn't exist
Custodes are fine but no girls allowed
Chaos daemons and CSM should be together
Allied tables should exist
>>
Never done mini stuff before, but I like tau and nids. Which is less of a pain to assemble and paint?
>>
>>98624168
Agree with all of those except GSC. Knights I would forgive if they had their own infantry/cavalry to take alongside the big robots. But GSC have been a thing in the game with their own army list since rogue trader, even before they released Tyranids. They work perfectly fine as a distinct faction and embody a lot of things that feel uniquely 40k.

Since you're painting a single model, not that bad. You just have to accept that good enough is good enough with the hazard stripes because you ain't painting them perfectly. Looking like a McDonald's -themed candy cane is fine.

Everyone should paint and model more weathering and grit and battle-damage on their minis. I hate seeing factory-clean minis in the setting that is Only War where everything should be constantly fighting and getting fucked up. long time ago, back when options cost points, I was considering writing a list (and then maybe building it) called “broke nigga marines”
broke nigga marines would be a list of marines where I would never pay for options, and if a cheaper version of the same unit exists I’d have to take that instead
doubt it would work nowadays, nothing costs anything so my army wouldn’t feel near broke enough

Only on TTS. The base squad for 90pts is good, if squishy. Theoretically the characters are good too, but they're a bit too expensive. 220pts for 3 knights, clanblade, and stone singer. For those points I'd probably rather just get an Avatar that's WAY tankier or 2x3 Shining Spears. Knights are better generalists than Spears, but spears will royaly fuck with monsters and vehicles.
The characters need a FNP, inv, or a couple extra wounds each. Then it'd be a goated unit.

Just to add, regardless about how I feel about their tabletop performance, I think the models are great and when a separate box comes out I'll definitely pick up two so I can make a squad of knights and one of each character.
Also Leystalker is goated. Lone OP with some good character sniping makes him a great action monkey

Uma Season 1 is regularly regarded as the worst of the anime productions for a variety of reasons (The biggest being PA Work's piss-poor animation). They were still figuring out Umamusume as a franchise at the time to see what worked and what didin't work when it aired, hell the Gacha was supposed to release alongside season 1 but got delayed and released 3 years later alongside the second season. It also doesn't help that Special Week probably has the weakest character arc of all the Protagonists across the various anime productions.

Cygames dropped PA Works after the first season and went with a different studio for S2/3 (For the better, they looks leagues better than S1 did) and eventually formed their own in-house studio they've been using ever since. If I had to share my thoughts on each one I'd say
>S2: Definitely the best of the original 3 anime, has far better character dynamics and rivalries than S1 did
>S3: Not as good as S2 was, but still a bit better than S1. Has a much larger shift in its main cast compared to the first two seasons, with most of Spica being sidelined to focus on Kitasan Black/Satono Diamond instead.
>Road to the Top: It's pretty good, but suffers too much from only being 4 episodes long. Narita Top Road is a bit of a bland protag, but the dynamic with her and Ayabe/TM Opera O salvages it at least.
>BOANE: Fantastic movie, seeing this in theaters was a wild experience but it's still pretty solid on a small screen.
>CinGray: I immediately went to read the rest of the manga after finishing it and I'd unironically place it as a top-5 sports manga. If you have to choose only one more to watch make it this one.

>>

can someone explain the appeal of them? I really did try to listen to them because I’m a sucker for music tie ins, but the forced deep voice would always rip me out of it, and its so forced its genuinely hard to understand what they’re saying even after I looked them up. I had a similar issue with sabbat, but his voice feels more like organic passionate yelling, and after looking up the lyrics, blood for the blood god is probably one of my favorite songs of all time.

No. They're a "Star Wars Prequel" situation where they are stuck even if they suck.
I'd instead make the Primaris resemble the firstborn more. GW is already doing that with a lot of the Primaris armor looking like a mishmash of other armor marks. This is good.
The next thing I'd do is make the default boltgun be the bolt carbine. It will have the cawl cylinder as I think that is a GW enforced mandatory greeble. The lore justification will be supply chain issues in the Imperium due to increased pirate activity.
At the moment I'm not sure how I'd handle the boltrifle and the longer bolt rifle.

Marines base movement back to 5" (and everyone else can get -1" too, except T3 Armies. Removal of half the current Assault and Ignores Cover shooting profiles and instead worsen the BS of a lot of profiles and give them heavy. Make board size 4'x6' again.

I don't know why they didn't start with this. The boxy, clunky bolter is the second most iconic aspect of marines aside from the angry grill mouth of the MKVII.
>>
>>98624565
But anon, it's not old good new bad. It's mid good. The players see old and hate it because it's older than when they entered. It's like how Total War Bretonnia players are unaware of Bretonnia's massive history of whole-faction shifts.

I have the ForgeWorld Modelling masterclass PDFs somewhere.
It is gonna be annoying translating the OOP colors to modern citadel and then to Vallejo/AK.
But personally I want to avoid toxic stuff like oils/enamels because I might get a pet. Nontoxic stuff for humans might be toxic to little pets. Toxic stuff to humans is definitely toxic to pets.

So at most I'd probably do sponge chipping. Maybe some heavily watered down rust brown paint to a "caramel chocolate milk" consistency for rust.
Drybrushing barrels to make them look like they had heat damage. Or using dry black pigment on it and then locking it with Vallejo thinner medium as allegedly that can do it. Not sure if AK acrylic thinner can. Or try Vallejo's acrylic pigment binder if that saves me from using an enamel pigment binder.
Just the basic easy idiot proof stuff.

What I'm hoping for is that Pro Acryl's Newsh (what is Newsh really so I can make DIY alts if Pro Acryl suddenly shuts down?) that will let me have oil wash like effects that will be good enough.
Hopefully they are. Pro Acryl supposedly has the best acrylic white paint on the hobby mini paint market.

Orkz are suited better for 40k, not exactly as comedy relief but moreso as 40k's honest to god equivalent of just barbarians, the right and proper barbarians that fuck everybody's shit up. Chaos Warbands may fit the barbaric role too, but they're too shackled to their respective chaos gods and their wankery to have true freedom. Orkz are the one faction among all in 40k that has TRUE freedom to do what they see fit and Krorks would probably undermine that freedom because in spite the fact Orks are very degraded from their days during the war in heaven, Orks can still pull off some bullshit off their sleeves and this can buff up the Krork mythos, if orks in their current state can build shit like Attack moons, one can only dread to imagine what the Krork were employing during the war in heaven.

I liked the theory that the reason necron tech dissolves as fast as possible into tiny nanomachines was to prevent Krorks from looting, reverse engineering and creating big proper sized versions of something as standard as a gauss rifle turned into a gauss big shoota. Heavy chances are some krorks were specialized in dealing with c'tans (possibly the weirdboy equivalent of a krork) and so on.

Custodes might be coming along soon to follow up their new plastic kits. GW teased that new terminator as well, I cannot think of a time where they teased something in a video and it hasnt released shortly afterwards (60-90 days)

I dont think we will see any range refreshes till Q1 2027 at the earliest, so look for factions that already have had theirs.

If they are trying to alternats between imperium, chaos, xenos then my guess is Csm, nids, custodes, tsons

Nids should come soon because they were the first book of last edition, and will probably get a pity character only. Red Terror would have been it initially but they used that for Kill Team so now I'm unsure. Worst case scenario it's just the codex with a repackaged Red Terror now available separately. Better case, they delay the book a bit until there's something else to release with it. Maybe they just redo the Carnifex kit closer to the new Screamer-Killer with a new Old One Eye optional build.

I started orks with the Armageddon starter and I'm in a pickle about which Klan I should choose; I like the Evil Sunz the most but I'm already through a Mars admech force and I don't know if I actually want to do another Red army; Bad Moons and Goffs are close seconds but images of a Deathskull army that some anon has painted actually made me also think of that.
Which is the best Klan, in your opinion and why should I choose that?

if evil sunz are off limits because of the color scheme, then deathskulls are your next best bet because they loot a lot which means they have a lot of vehicles they scrapped from other factions or outright stole and painted blue. they also like to use vehicles because it gets
them into fights fast, and so then they can start the looting process. I’d also say parading around the galaxy in junky vehicles to steal shit is pretty mad max if that’s the reason you like evil sunz. one final thing is that they like to use facepaint which I think is a cool bonus :D

fine, then bad moons would be the NEXT best bet. they use their massive amounts of wealth to buy the shiniest vehicles around, but there’s an extra emphasis on small moving land fortresses. they also have a lot of mekaniaks to work the vehicles. this is also a weird bonus, but with ad mech being red it leaves two other primary colors as choices (blue and yellow), so if he wants a third army, then it’ll be way more likely to be a blue one rather than yellow to complete the triumvirate. just a thought.

I'm thinking 12mm but I'm unsure if I should go smaller as going smaller could mean having trouble seeing the dice dots but too large means big piles taking up too much space.

The XV15s had a sleekness to them, being similar in size to fire warriors while still having a slightly more blocky mech shape in a way that made sense for stealth suits. The XV25s don't really look stealthy, but they have a cool design to them reminiscent of some classic mecha stuff like Maschinen Krieger, Starship Troopers OVA and VOTOMS. These new ones just don't have anything going for them.

Most people want cool gundams with swords. Farsight pilots a cool gundam with a sword. If GW were smart they'd make a unit of crisis suits with melee weapons and print money.

‘Yes, I insist the human answer my question.’ He turned to Valeria, ocular
gleaming with irritated determination. ‘What is “arsehole”? From context
searches in human works of literature,’ Orikan said, texts scrolling by his
vision, ‘I discern it means a selfish or boorish individual, but some baser
meaning has been redacted from my dictionary.’
‘Try cross-referencing it’ – Valeria gave a wicked smile – ‘with human
anatomical models.’
Orikan paused in his perusal of datafeeds and stared. ‘No.’
‘I tried to protect you.’ Trazyn shook his head. ‘But you will insist.’
‘I am done. This is the end for me. I for one will not travel this path,’
Orikan snivelled. ‘I will simply not do it. You shall all go through the gate
without me.’
‘You are coming.’ Phillias activated her scythe. ‘By orders of the Silent
King. You have been proclaimed part of this expedition, and to shirk it is
treason.’
‘I do not care.’
‘Come with us,’ said Valeria, quietly, ‘or I will tell you how we make
cheese.’
‘It cannot be worse than what you have just revealed.’
‘First, we squeeze the udder of a livestock animal, producing the milk
intended to nourish its young. While it is still warm, we add bacteria
cultures to acidify the mixture, then an animal’s stomach enzymes, which
coagulates–’

In 5th you could have a heavy drone army not completely though.

Gun drones were a fast attack unit. You could have 3x12 units of drones and 3x9 units of railgun drones in heavy support so 36 plus 27.

You needed minimum 2x 6 man firewarriors in troops but they could also take 2 gun drones per unit, each with a devilfish which has 2 more. Then crisis teams could have 2 per suit. So 6 per team and the commander could have 2 more.

So max drones Hq 4
Elites 18
Troops 24
Fast attack 36
Heavy support 27 for a total of 109 drones

Pretty sure with forgeworld rules there was a tau tank that produced gun drones plus there were super heavy drones.

Thanks to the Armageddon release with the new Ork models and the recent fallout from models being "legends'd" I've been taking a look at my collection recently and realized the ~6 newish ork vehicles that were on 150mm oval bases are all being squatted and some have been out of circulation for a couple of months already.
It also made me realize that a) the new Trukk much like the old model does not come with a base for some reason, and b) GW does not sell the 150mm oval bases by themselves at all.

What is up with that? Also, have any of you guys put your old models on bases to unify the look of your army (or left them off)?

Trukks have never been provided with bases. It's just not what GW seems to ever do with the basic transports for a given faction (skimmers notwithstanding). Also the buggies haven't truly been totally squatted, two of them are still genuinely around (Squigbuggy and Wartrike), and the new generic "Warbuggy" profile is basically just the KBB and Snazzwagon as alt builds of the unit. Unfortunately, the Dragsta and Scrapjet were truly squatted for indiscernible reasons.

>Also, have any of you guys put your old models on bases to unify the look of your army (or left them off)?

I've been collecting Orks since the late 4th/early 5th edition refreshes, and in that time the Warbiker kit went from:

>No bases
>"pill" shaped cavalry bases
>modern oval bases

And I had bought them in each of those periods, so it was a total mismatch. After my last acquisition (Speed Freeks box game gave me 6 more) I decided it was as good an excuse as any to not only unify their bases, but make a project of doing painting touch-ups on all of them. On a similar note I also picked up some old AoBR koptas (because, oddly, despite starting the army in prime AoBR real estate time, I never once acquired a half), and based them to match the 9th edition Koptas.

>Trukks have never been provided with bases. It's just not what GW seems to ever do with the basic transports for a given faction (skimmers notwithstanding).
I now, that's why I'm kind of weirded out by the flip flopping though. The later vehicle had bases and now they are going back to putting out a kit without one. At least with the Rhino chassis you could make a reasonable inference that it's basically just a box and embarking or disembarking and armor values coincides with the sides of the vehicle. For more complex shapes having a definite footprint seems like it would make more sense from a rules perspective though (especially with a faction like orks where conversions are encouraged and expected).

I'm in a similar boat as you are in regards to the bikers. Got it into my head to do a Speed Freaks army at some point. I'm sitting on a pile of pillshaped bases (to replace the square cavalry bases on old SM bikes as well) and cannot decide if I prefer ovals. Especially since you can get a little bit more granularity these days if you need a bigger footprint for Nob bikers or a Whaagboss.
>>
>>98626160
The others already said it, but I think GW is scheming with HH and 40k. Old school 40k fans are shuffled over to HH, where the models they grew up with still exist. New 40k players who grew up on Halo slop get shuffled into the Primaris range.
The crucial missing part is a kit of mk7 and mk8 marines for that though. If they are squatting the tactical squad they'll just have the Deathwatch marines left and 40k as it has existed for ~35ish years doesn't exist anymore.

>>
>>98626371
If that is true then it would look to be a course correction, because they could have just made a new tactical kit that fixed the size issues instead of retconning 10000 years inside the setting in the first place.
Maybe they realized primaris are kind of boring by comparison (and by design incidentially). But it doesn't seem like they sell any less from the outside looking in. Who knows.

I like the xv25 (though it did take years for it to grow on me) because it looks more like a solution to a problem than the perfect thing. The new xv26 are pretty cool in silhouette, but I dislike how they kept the large halfmoon shape but simultaneously made it a giant helmet.

>GW is blending Firstborn and Primaris into one over time
More like they are adding more ornamentation details from older armors to primaris.
I like it, my main complaint about primaris has always just been that they look a bit plain, but GW is fixing that clearly so I am happy now.
Only thing now that I really want is just better upgrade sprues, most of the current ones are just bad. Only good one is the Black Templars one, all upgrade should be like it.
Also I want upgrade sprues for other factions other than marines. Like guard, sisters, orks, eldar, etc. and have these ones also get upgrade sprues that are same in quality as the BT one.

This is true I suppose, narratively speaking, most Space Marines are Primaris. However, it doesn't take away from my point that the aesthetic shift towards firstborn marines is profound. GW even gave Eradicators an MKVIII-style helmet, even though Gravis armor is Primaris-only.

Nta, but likely Xenology. GW has been flip-flopping on wether the mechanism which which Ethereals control other Tau is biological, psychic or whatever else. They also went back on forth on whether their intentions were benevolent or if they were puppeted by some outside influence - possibly whoever engineered Tau in the first place (Xenology also referred to genetically engineered organs of disparate complexity, suggesting some parts had been more engineered than others).
GW also went back and forth on Tau silently sterilizing and committing a soft genocide agaomst their auxiliary races in the name of the "greater good" or if they were true believers in a utopian multi-racial society.

And then they went from the "different alien races" to the "anime robot" faction.

In hindsight a complete shitshow.

Could also be that its helpful in space since they are space marines, after all. I.e. for when they are floating in space during boarding actions or navigating with their backpacks? The "just speculation" bit is not really a good argument. Most of the background from around that time was written as speculative in-universe information in the form of battle reports, requistion forms, audio logs, interview/interrogation protocols etc.
Sure that leaves some room for doubt, but that was also by design. And like I said GW has since went back and forth on basically everything.

Hell, the Ravenwing used to have THE ONLY functional anti-grav bike in the galaxy, now there are chumps in the underhives of necromunda on jetbikes.
The Primarch were dead and gone, humanity left to fend for it self, now they are all coming back (and the models cost an arm and a leg each of course).
Custodes used to be the Palace Guard of the Emperor. Now they are fighting battles all over the place for some reason.
And so on and so forth. You can only look at these things in the context of the time they were written. The reality is that some people came up with the setting and year after year some other people came in and did whatever they wanted with it after that, for better or worse.

A day's worth of sunlight on 1m2, at 20% capture efficiency, provides enough energy for about 500 M4 carbine's 5.56mm shots. So, lasguns can be viably recharged by sunlight.

But it would take 20 square meters about 4 days of sunlight to fill up a car's gas tank (which lasts ~6 days).

So my question is how ubiquitous is solar capture tech in the Imperium? Seems guardsmen also have glow globes, maybe those are solar too.

Imperial tanks can use for fuel anything that flows and burns. But if you had electric tanks...where would you charge them? I guess that's the unseen baggage train following the Guard's forces lol

Like how intercessors come with some bits from different armor mks, yeah it is not a lot but they are there. Same with the new vanvets they have a mk7 and a mk6 helmet as an option + some other things.
Also there was that recent space marine captain, I think it was named "captain centos" and he is wearing mk10 armor but it has the mk7 belly cables on it for example also I think it has a mk7 helmet too. It's the model where the captain is looking to his right as he is aiming his bolter that has a buttstock and he has a power fist.

5x exterminators
2x kastelans (& datasmith obviously)
dunecrawler
5x sicarians (unbuilt, probably going to make them infiltrators)
3x raiders, 5x pteraxii sterylisors
i think this adds up to around 1600 points ish, where should i go from here? can go over 2k and drop some models - but one catch, i don't like kataphrons and won't buy them i think they're lame as shit and hate their designs, big fan of kastelans though and one thing i do plan to do is buy 2 more to make full squad. but i'm struggling to beat my mate who's really good at the game

i suppose i'm just looking for list advice & game pointers on how to use the army in general. currently using lords + radzone (haloscreed is too many buffs to keep track of for me right now)

Tormentors (EC) are taller than primaris. Plague marines are the shortest of all non-firstborn variants. Sub-variants such as Havocs and Noise Marines are even bigger for some reason. Chaos simply has no explanation, it doesn't need one.

I'm ironing out my first Ork army list right now, and so far I have pic related in my collection. Everything is built except the Boomdakka Snazzwagon which I honestly might just use as kitbash fodder for other stuff.

I'm focusing hard on Dread Mob as the core of the army (Gonna probably get 1-2 more squads of Kans) and I'll probably slap Madcap Meks in there too for shenanigans with the two Dakkarigs and a Mek or two, but what should I lean into for the third Detachment? Runt Swarm to get closer to how Dread Mob was back in 10th? Shoota Boyz to give the lads Assault? Load up on cheap Armageddon Boyz from ebay and go Green Tide?

eh. Technically yes. In reality the vehicles don't fit to the infantry, the scenery is out of scale with everything else, the ground scale for the guns is retarded and so on and so forth.

The real reason - and the great thing about it - was that all GW multipart kits were designed to had interchangable parts. GW went away from that philosophy to monopose designs now. Guess the newer models photograph better and sell more models (most of them to never be built and painted by the people that buy them).

I mean I already am, my favorite part about the ork aesthetic is the junkyard thrown together bit and I feel the walkers best show that which is why I bought a second Big Mek Dakkarig and I'm already planning on getting more Killa Kans and probably a second Deff Dread (Getting rid of Dead Choppy fucking sucks eggs though, so yea your spoiled text is correct).

Meks are kinda cool, I like the new model released recently and I'll probably pick one up when I'm at my LGS next time, The Shokk Attack Gun Big Mek is pretty funny too, though the standard Big Mek is kinda bleh for me.

So that leaves the core of the army (Ork walkers) and a support side (Meks). The rest of the Ork stuff though hits me like this
>Boyz/Nobz/Grots - Pretty cool, definitely core orky
>Meganobz - These don't click with me, not really my cup of tea
>Speed Freaks - Cool but not my jam, don't really want another vehicle focused army when I already got a bunch of Guard Tanks/Transports
>Fliers - They're a meme, not just in the context of Orks
>Beast Snaggas - Fuck no

I'll probably slot in one of the infantry-focused detachments, and in terms of models to pick up next it'll probably be
>More Killa Kans
>A Mek or two (If I can track down one of the old Mek models for variety sake)
>A Gorkanaut/Morkanaut (Not sure which I'd build though)

Hopefully the Christmas Orks box is focused around the walkers or meks and not some bullshit like a Beast Snaggas box.

They were only separate in the very early years of primaris where the explicit priority was to release generic stuff without too many faction-specific details. People just see what they want to see. For anyone paying attention there's been no real pivot, just fulfilling the original plan of 10 years of trying new things while slowly replacing classic units in order to milk customers as long as possible.

I sincerely doubt they have a plan beyond the ~2 years of releases they usually are working on in advance.

I never claimed GW were good at coming up with smart plans that actually work. Just seems the two things carter to two disctinct different groups.

What if big E is actually Alpharus?
>>
>>98626849
>I mean their old CEO completely pantsed them by killing off WHFB
WHF got axed because it was basically a gangrenous, non-functional limb at that point.
WHF was actively bleeding money for GW back then. And the big reason why it was bleeding money was because GW stupidly just constantly inflated the model amounts for armies every edition and raised prices. Thinking it'd bring in more sales.
Which in reality resulted in you needing like dozens if not 100+ models of basic infantry to have an army. Like it got so bad that just getting a new army as a beginner costed multiple hundreds of dollars, and it's even worse when you then have to tell the completely new person who has NEVER done wargaming or built models before that you now need to clean up, build and then finally paint ALL of the 100+ infantry models, + the extras.
No fucking shit new blood just stopped arriving, because the barrier to entry got so fucking high that it just wasn't worth it.
Especially in the time of video games which in comparison cheaper and much, much easier to get into. And even a better long term investment because you could sell your old games and even consoles if you stopped playing them, so you can get some of your money back.
You can't really do that with models as easily, since most people prefer fresh kits over pre-built, pre-painted armies.

Only reason why GW now brought WHF back in the form the TOW, begrudgingly mind you, is purely because of the Total War: Warhammer games got super popular. That's it.
>>
>>98626931
Sisters of Battle were not a thing yet in the Horus Heresy. Eldar were mostly still too fucked over by the Fall to do anything. But Orks should 100% be playable in the Heresy and even the writers have said this.
>>
>>98626933
what if one of the psychers sacrificed to E was Alpharus?
>>
>>98626934
It's funny because this happened multiple times over WHFB's lifetime, the game was even nearly dead all the way back in 3rd edition after Rogue Trader came out. 40k just immediately overpowered it and dunked on it from it's inception and there's never really been a good reason to keep Fantasy around since 40k really began to get established.
>>

What if Alpharus sacrificed Alpharus (psyker) to Alpharus (big E)??

>Geuninely what are they merging?
The aesthetics? Like I've said couple of times, or do you have a trouble reading? Are you dumb or intentionally not reading?
>but it's only a few bits
Yes, it's still a sign of merging the 2 aesthetics.
Or are you going to pretend to be retarded and think that mk7 helmets/face plate no longer are mk7 or that mk6 shoulder pads/helmets aren't mk6 anymore? Or the fact that Space Wolves models are using the older godwyn boltguns somehow no longer are godwyn boltguns?

>>
>>98626958
That anon is pointing out that you're being disingenuous, calling it a "merging" when merge would imply a 50/50 mix, but it's really just Primaris with like 2 bits of old armour out of the 100 bits in a kit. No one asked for Primaris ever to begin with.
>>
>>98626954
It's just GW being retarded. They figured out that putting a small skirmish rules set like Kill Team into the Big Rulebook is a good hook. Then they deleted Warhammer skirmish from the BRB for WHFB. They are just incompetent idiots that mismanaged a beloved property.
>>
>>98626944
My point was that HH doesn't work as an "old 40k player retirement home" because requisite components are missing for said old 40k players. I don't care about the setting or "the lore" for my argument.

"Old 40k players" want to play *their* armies or an equivalent to them in the new setting, but there aren't those equivalents for a large portion of players. Sisters players don't want to play marines, or they'd already be doing it, and so on.
>>
>>98626968

If the Land Raider gets refreshed it better not go up in size. Even at it's current size it's almost impossible to maneuver. Some of the more dense terrains there's only one or two paths the Land Raider can take. Imagine if it gets even bigger that thing will not be able to move.
>>
>>98626968
The point was more that the old style models live in that system. You got the 2nd ed style tanks, all armor marks except mk7 and you can build an old school army to play any of the previous editions with HH models. Requires a discerning eye and knowledge of the game though. Regular 40k is taking newbies by the hand and leading them towards buying whatever GW is trying to sell at the moment.

In other words, old heads end up there by default, because GW stopped selling the models they need for their army in 40k.

>calling it a "merging" when merge would imply a 50/50 mix
No the fuck it doesn't. 50/50 isn't a pre-requisite or some fucking definition for a merge.
Merging by definition just means you are combining ELEMENTS of 2 or more things into 1 thing.
The one who is being disingenuous is you unironically saying that you can only call a thing "merge" if it is a perfect 50/50 split between 2 things.

By your dumb as fuck, incorrect, bullshit definition, if I built a marine out of the old kits and gave it a mk7 helmets, a mk4 chest plate, mk3 backpack and mk5 legs, this isn't a "merging" of multiple different armors because the model isn't perfectly split 50/50 between any previous armor mk.

>>98626986
>and you can build an old school army to play any of the previous editions with HH models
But only if you play a flavor of marines, guard or AdMech.

Xenos can get away with *most* of the 40k options as well, but some are still left out to dry (SoB, most prominently to me because I play them). There aren't "close enough" units to some options SoB used to have, so we either have to kitbash, print, buy from recasters or get lucky on someone selling old minis, or we don't get to use the entire old roster.

Other armies might also suffer this, I'm just not as aware of their rosters to know enough to speak on them.
