Me and my friend have been working for quite a while making a set of conversion rules to allow players acquainted with Bolt Action and Konflikt47 to play with their 40k models and units. We made this because, to us, Warhammer40k has never really fit the way we like to play, it lacks customization and strategic depth in our opinion, so, we decided to take it upon ourselves to make something fun.Initially this was meant to be a personal think only used by us both, but we thought people could enjoy the system and maybe would want to try it out, so here I am to share it with you.As of now, only the Orks as a faction are fully finished but still require some testing. Imperial guard will be next and should be finished soon. The main rules:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-nnjfKa1OKJsiihKl912rdUvbsFZLT4L0XgzBTleZ2M/edit?usp=sharingThe Ork Faction Codex:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wni1fIqWnwtGY6EN87CxygFEHVYAC3_cbIMBuwOVWCs/edit?usp=sharing
Also excuse the typos on this post I haven't slept in 19 hours.

Nice Anon, I've been working on a solo campaign and was debating making a similar ruleset. Excited to see if you end up making the guard codex.
>>98624679Looks promising. I think Bolter Action is pretty old. So if this is an "update" you're gonna have a lot of working making stats for the newer released models in the 40k line. The space marine codex is gonna be a big one for obvious reasons. Guard might be a close second biggest because ForgeWorld went crazy using leman russ and chimera chassis for different tanks. I wish you all the best and good luck on this.
>>98624705Many thanks! Also, we have a solution for all the different statlines! I think you're going to love or hate this. One of the things we didn't like about 40k is how so many different units can be boiled down to the same model with different equipment, pretty much just bloating the roster. For instance: A Burnaboy, a Squighog boy and a normal boy are all the same, just with different equipment. So, let's say you want to make a team of burna boys. You grab a normal boy model, equip it with a burna, and give it the "Burnaboyz" special unit keyword. Ten of those and boom, you have a unit of burna boys.We don't need to make 7 different variations of the Leman Russ, because in this system you can just grab the Leman Russ "Chasis" and equip it with whatever you want.
>>98624694It should come out either tomorrow or the day after.
>>98624721>in this system you can just grab the Leman Russ "Chasis" and equip it with whatever you wantI think that might actually work. And save page reading for my shot attention span. Thanks anon!I think a big disclaimer should be put up that this isn't meant for tournament play. Given that this is a fan passion project it is inevitable that bias will be at play intentional or not and there will be some stupidly busted mechanic somewhere. Not saying wargames with tournament mind don't have this, but fan passion projects may have these in a bigger amount and they'll have bigger tabletop impact. But it would be seriously hilarious if the opposite happens and this becomes a better and more fun tournament game.
>>98624727Oh I'm sure there's something we will end up overlooking somewhere eventually. Even though we've been working on this for 2 months now there's so much testing to be done yet.
Here is a list of the upcoming faction releases after the guard codex is done:1.- Adeptus Mechanicus2.- Space Marines2.- Tyrannids3.- Necrons4.- Chaos Space MarinesThe order of release relates to how experienced me and my friend are with each faction. When and if all the above are finished, more will be released.Optional or debatable if they should be a faction:Knights (Both Chaos and Imperium)Adeptus CustodesImperial AgentsThese two faction's units will most likely be available as ultra-elite options or mercenaries in other relevant factions. Even then Imperial Agents are unlikely to show up at all save for assassins due to the nature of the system already allowing most of their units to be made.
>>98624693This image made me actually read the rules. Now, having never actually played 40k or Bolt Action the value of my input is somewhat limited, but I like hordes being different than infantry and the cover rules. When it comes to psyker stuff a Perils of the Warp table like with vehicle damage could be fun instead of regular hazardous.
Almost forgot to post this as well. Here is a quick and dirty Excel sheet to manage and distribute points in case anyone want to make and test out an army with this system:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15I3CKg99ANQlk33gt25lcL93LI2lhD24fEfVHQPQDPI/edit?gid=0#gid=0Make a copy, please do not request access.
>>98624783I did not consider this.I would have to be very careful to add yet another table to an already pretty table-heavy system, but if the current one shows to be digestible enough I'll talk to my friend to start considering adding something like this.
That would be great; Bolt action is sorta 40k-esque, alot of BA players in my area are former 40k players who made the switch.
>>98624679This would be really interesting if you actually tried.Simply writing, "Same as Bolt Action" or "Same as Konflikt 47" does not a good main rules document make. Further, you don't mention which edition of the aforementioned games your using, so different players will have different rules.Try a bit harder anon, this sounds like a great potential project.
>>98628236Well, this is not meant to be a full game system all to itself, but rather a translation tool or "custom game mode" if you will, so you are expected to already be acquainted with the core rules of BA.You are very much correct however in that we should not only specify that but also that we DON'T SAY ANYWHERE WHICH VERSIONS OF BOLT ACTION AND KONLIKT47 SHOULD BE USED, what a stupid oversight man, thank you for pointing that out really.
The core document has been updated with some extra clarifications and cleanup. Stay tuned for the upcoming guard rules release!
>>98624879Bolt Action was created by the same guys who made the older editions of 40k so that isn’t surprising
THE IMPERIAL GUARD FIELD MANUAL HAS BEEN RELEASEDYou can find it here:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SSpkS7wKK_0zZQFl80Jyr9JvhcAdh1bBc6_N_HTlk2w/edit?tab=t.0In addition, the core ruleset has been updated to version 0.0.4. A list of changes:-Clarification on some concepts and keywords-Points rebalancing-Added a Field Manual section to the bottom of the document to easily find every currently released field manual and resource.-Added document tabs for ease of reference and navigation.-Updated the Bolter Action Army List Template-Added a small presentation page.-Added a small cover. What has been tested on Orks and Guardsmen:-Points cost-List Building-Special KeywordsFeel free to share any feedback on this!
>>98624686>I wanted to shit out this absolutely vital turd before I get the minimum amount of sleep and take another look at it.Fuck off, faggot. Proofread your garbage then come back.
>>98629266>this is not meant to be a full game system all to itselfYou'll probably find much more success with this project if you do that. Instead of just making a custom game mode that requires players to be familiar with any one specific game.
>>98630435Downloaded, will check out later. Good job anon but also see >>98630623 & >>98631230
Bump, pull your finger out OP
Yo, quick update here.Looking at the comments it might actually be a good idea to make it into its own game system.I will do some game tests with my friend to balance some things out before I start that process. Also, do note that this is a half-time passion project and that me and my friend also have other unrelated personal projects outside of this one and a day job. However, I'll try to make space for it as much as I can since we were both pretty surprised at the interest people actually showed for it lol.>>98631230>>98630623>>98633160Here are some (You)s for the good feedback as well, most if not all writing issues should be fixed and it should start looking more and more like it's own game system little by little as we work on it!Thank you all for your interest btw, means a lot.
>>98634219Looking forward to the full fat game anon
>>98624679Which factions are you planning on adding? And can I humbly request that you never ever add marines/custodes pretty please.
>>98636404>>98624747Here you go.As for when we add space marines, do not worry. Me and my friend have a personal philosophy that space marines showing up in the dozens in every game makes no sense, so once they ARE added you can expect to only see 2-5 models of them per full game.>>98636219Thank you. The more I've thought about it the more the idea excited me.
>>98624679Nice was just having similar thoughts of a bolt action verison of 40k.
