What ttrpg Youtubers do you like in this post-WoTC era? I know D&D will forever be the most popular among Reddit midwits, but I really think it has permanently fucked up its popularity akin to Star Wars. Yeah, it had such immense good will that the creeps who now inhabit it like a skinsuit will keep it alive like a puppet for a long time, but it is slowly and surely dying.
>>98625521I don't know of any TTRPG youtubers that are good but I don't mind suggestions.>post-WoTC eraSince when did this start? Magic is still big. DnD is still big.>but it (DnD) is slowly and surely dyingIt is for the best that DnD never dies so it remains a net that keeps the trend chasers and their dumb views away from other games.Think of tumblr and how it would always make it's dominant beliefs look bad then it moved to twitter and things got worse. DnD is like that in it keeps the terrible culture contained mostly to it if that makes sense.

>>98625521out of touch retard with slop for thumbnails>>98625615an actual retard in the clinical sense>>98625652king
>>98625873>out of touch retard with slop for thumbnailsSorry, Big Purple Boi. For the last year of so Tenkar has been doing great OSR material, almost daily vids. Is it topics no one has ever said before? Of course not, who is? But it's well presented and without 10 minutes of shilling his variation #792 OSR product. I guess it wouldn't sell, relatively speaking, compared to a new game. But taking all these topics together, explaining in-depth why they're important, and giving many examples would make the best DM advice book of all time. The handful of existing pure DM advice books are utter shit.>Main rule is to have fun!>Tell an awesome story like your favorite black or trans author, maybe The Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin!>Rule of Cool!>Always say Yes to your players! Or if you're a total chud, at least No, but!Meanwhile even a rule like "no fudging" needs explanation and examples for your average midwit or he will immediately think "wow, that's oppression, I read about it on Reddit." Rolling in the open, random encounters, morale, reaction checks, etc. are 20x more transformative than advice how to be like Critical Roll. But where B/X and every other OSR game fails is giving the rule without being very explicit WHY it's important.
Trivia question: guess which RPG youtuber/personality lives in this hovel while delusionally boasting about his great sales and financial success. You won't be able to reverse image search it.
>>98625975>where B/X and every other OSR game fails is giving the rule without being very explicit WHY it's importantThat and being fucking tedious. "We go north!"(The DM smiles, knowing they are lost and going East, and will have to redraw their hexmap almost entirely)"OK, well you encounter..." *rolls dice* "Goblins" *rolls dice* "six of them" *rolls dice* "They're gathering..." *rolls dice* "Barley, and look" *rolls dice* "cautious. They're" *rolls dice* "140 feet away and the terrain is" *rolls dice* "wooded."(one of the players' heads slips off their hands, waking him up) "Oh fuck, uhh, we go around.""Very well, adventurers! It is time to make camp!""I roll to soak some dried peas in water for dinner.""RREEEEEEEEE! YOU JUST SAY WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND I TELL YOU WHAT TO ROLL"
>>98625615>Look, I've cracked the 3LBB+Chainmail combat system>It's just a sloppy weapons vs AC table that doesn't solve a single problemCongrats, you've quoted the single most pretentious and toxic """game designer""" on the entire web. I wonder how he'd handle discussing OSR on this board...
>>98626079I mean it's better where I live. Why are middle class folk so judgy about slightly less middle class?
>>98626079>posts normal looking house
>>98626079my guessRPG PunditI always found his boasting hilarious, he is basically a champion of personal success delusions.I'm pretty sure he actually has some sort of mental disorder

>>98625521>What ttrpg Youtubers do you like in this post-WoTC era?1. None. TTRPG youtubers are a cancer. The closest you get to a "good" TTRPG youtuber is a guy who has multiple interests with TTRPGs being one of them.2. We do not live in a post-WotC Era. Dungeons and Dragons still rules the hobby, and WotC still sits atop the world. I do not say this with glee. I wish that they would have a TSR-style collapse. Unfortunately, Magic the Gathering prints money and can prop up a failing D&D at any time. The closest you get to a good TTRPG youtuber is that German guy who likes to loredump about Shadowrun and World of Darkness. But even then I'm pretty sure his main thing is that he likes to talk about feminism and leftism.
Anyone have a recommendation for TTRPG news sites?Polygon isn't great but EN World is truly awful. 90% of ENW is D&D 'news'. I want more content and less shilling.

Typical OSR enjoyer.
>>98626357>>Polygon isn't great but EN World is truly awful. 90% of ENW is D&D 'news'. I want more content and less shilling.Try RPG.net, at least they let you speak your mind there.
>>98627491If you go to RPG.net you probably don't have a mind. So saying anything about speaking it is pointless.
>>98627491>Try RPG.net, at least they let you speak your mind there.
>>98626079Cute cat!
>>98626247Correct. I do like his OSR takes, and I give big points purely for openly being on the right when that alone gets you excommunicated from 99% of Modern D&D audiences/opportunities. But it's cringe when he starts bragging about his "#1 best-seller Gold Status on DriveThruRPG for my latest medieval authentic pamphlet!" Nigga, that means something like you sold 50 copies and made $75 in royalties. On one video he made some ridiculous statement about being the most famous RPG designer in South America, and I commented something like "yes, I'm sure that comes in handy on your dating profile". He proudly replied "Heh heh, yes, it certainly doesn't hurt". Nigga, you haven't talked to a woman IRL since you left Canada.
>>98628837Yes, RPG Pundit and his fans are retarded nogames with B.O.
>>98628837>I like takes of a literal delusional schizoAnon, that's not a good sign. lolYou can see he can't distinguish fantasy from reality, we can joke and all, but he is most certainly genuinely having mental health issues and lost his ability for critical thinking [if he ever had any]Think about it anon, you see someone is an actual retard and you still listen to his takes, what does that say about you?I just add him to my ignore list on any platform he is present so even scrolling past his rumblings doesn't waste my time
>>98630032>I just add him to my ignore list on any platform he is present so even scrolling past his rumblings doesn't waste my timeAh, you're one of those. You are far, far worse than the Pundit. He's got a unwarranted big ego and makes a fool of himself sometimes, but he's 10x more open minded than the faggot authoritarian shut-ins on Reddit or RPG.net who are terrified to give any opinion contrary to the Narrative since it will, without exception, get them banned from their precious faggot authoritarian pedo Elf Games forum. So that's why you're here instead of over there. Your urge to Kneel is at odds with your desire to see discussions where a tranny mod isn't constantly looking over your shoulder.
>>98628837I boycott people who look jewish.
>>98625615He is pretty good. I am also a fan of Me, Myself & Die. Just got the PDF of his Broken Empires and been liking what I been reading. That and Dungeon Coach and also like his DC20. (I think it would be the best 5e replacement for most people as it fixes most of the problems cause they playtested everything then just guessing it would work before releasing the final product.)
>>98630090Filtering out things that don't interest you from your feed as >>98630032 does is miles away from moderating what others get to see. It's a false equivalence and a retarded one to make at that.

>>98625652Seth is the only guy I'll watch, mainly because of his hard and fast rule that he only reviews things he's actually experienced at the table. Way too much of rpg YouTube is either book reviews without any eye towards how the product was actually experienced, or literal drama slop.
>>98630032>cropping out the faceI can see your reasoning for keeping it closer to the original, but it looses personality
Chubby Funster.
>>98630577yeah his vids are bretty good
>>98626079I was glad Meatball passed away because God almighty cat "people" can't shut up about their awfully ungrateful pet. It's like they have battered wife syndrome or abandonment issues. Didn't took Pundit long to replace it tho so we're back to square one and poor Meatball died for nothing.Anyway, it's a decent house for South America and I guess he can make a living out of his videos + book sells in such a cheap country so good on him. It's super cringe however to achieve so little when you believe unironically in Magik and see yourself as an accomplished practician. I'd feel ripped trading my soul for average material comfort.
>>98626106Made me smile because I remember reading on an OSR blog (think it was Beau Rancourt) that stated your travel rules should be as light as possible because the real adventure is pre-made well written Dungeons/modules and Wilderness is nothing more than a mean to go there. Added that if you really want Wilderness to be a thing then use a pre-made well written product here too because randomization is never ever as exciting and intricate. So a week or two ago I did post on the OSR thread asking for campaign settings recommendation to link my TSR adventures together and sure enough there was some dimwits fake grogs to say "why, make your own" as if I was as talented as 50 years of archives to tap into.I ended up checking into The Secret of Black Crag, The Dark of Hot Springs Island plus Dolmenwood and I have no regrets. Great sources of inspiration at the very least. Some advised me to check into Yoon Suin, which is cool, but still too much work for something I want mostly drag and drop for now.
>>98628837>>98630032I actually enjoy his books, especially Sword and Caravan...
>>98625975Tenkar has been making slop scripts for a year retard. Anyone who has to use the fucking things is familiar with the sentence structures his videos suddenly rely on.
>>98630541I don't get what's going on here, is he using Eastern Mysticism to levitate that glass or something? Also I hate to be cliche but has he answered why he hasn't used his magic to escape the poverty level and/or his celibacy? Dorks who do "mysticism" (no men believe it, only women) to get laid are on par with male feminists but I can understand it's just a strategy. But RPGPundit has that asexual energy where he couldn't even pull that off.A lot better than his dorky faux-goth, faux-disabled, welfare-leeching, ex-friend Grim Jim though.

>>98630577>>98630652Sometimes good sometimes idiotic. But I guess that's the price you pay for unfiltered and original thoughts. Compare his insights into one of the big DnDtubers and he's a genius (Except Seth)
>>98632483>Sometimes good sometimes idioticthat's already a better track record compared to 100% idiotic (BasicExpert) or poorly produced 10-minutes AI-slop for a 2 minute topic (Tenkar) both mentioned in this thread
Years ago people always mentioned Bandit's Keep in these thread. What happened to the lad? No one cares about him anymore?
>>98632889hasn't released a vid in a whilealso he is pretty focused on OSR topicsbut then again so are most of youtubers mentioned here lolseems like osrtards only watch youtube and never play games
This is a hipster deep cut but I found this guy interested in sort of a pitiable way> reasonably good takes, combo of OSR and more into 'story' than I prefer, but well thought-out> ultra-autistic. Not in the common new sense, but legit "I am weird" autistic> house-husband with a kid who unintentionally would make some truly hilarious comments> as I type this I realize the think I found interesting is he combined deep autism with Spoony-esque manic depression. I don't know if that's even medically plausible but he definitely exhibited both behaviors. Some vids he would come on full of energy expressed in a cringe-but-funny autistic way. Other vids were depressive "nobody watches me."> At the end he did an SJW turn, made a few half-hearted comments about the chuds and, most comically, dyed his bald fringe green presumably to signal to the groomers. I actually felt bad for him.
>>98632889>Years ago people always mentioned Bandit's Keep in these threadHe had good vids but I had to stop watching him -- seriously -- due to his habit of ending EVERY FUCKING SENTENCE with "right?" I've noticed a ton of middle-aged, niche Gen X Youtubers doing this, including RPGPundit as well. Go watch a couple of Bandit Keep's vids and see what I mean.
Black Lodge Games, they are chill even if they have dumb chud opinions.KamSandwich, covers a lot of board games and occasional ttrpg. Very entertaining content.Derik/Knights of Last Call. I enjoy his deepdives on games, has similar tastes in games to me.
Runehammer/Drunken and Dragons had some of the best practical, useable vids when he started. Great stuff if you care about good gameplay rather than storyfag railroading.Sadly that was when gaming was a hobby rather than a full time job for him. He's example #500 of 'clearly a rational, therefore conservative guy by nature who's put on the cloak of leftism' due to his envy over not having a $1mm kickstarter. He had one vid maybe a year ago where he openly bitches about it "I've been doing this for years man and seen all these other guys hit it big". He dances around Shadowdark being one of these since he 1) actually did art for the game, 2) would never ever even tangentially criticize a woman. He probably had a stroke when Professor DM just had his $1.3m kickstarter since he ALSO did art for that game, lol.
>>98632851>poorly produced 10-minutes AI-slop for a 2 minute topic (Tenkar) both mentioned in this threadYou're an utter retard if you think Tenkar's scripts or topics are AI. Maybe you don't understand AI thumbnails aren't the same thing.
