GRAND REOPENING!anons, the website i made is done and is in a relatively final state for now, there might be a couple loadout errors specifically for the units with like 20 units or something somewhere but everything is in and it's all working and cleaned up. I had a major problem trying to wrangle the fuck huge games workshop 40k database into something legible and in the end i had to cut everything except current legal miniatures, so no legends or narrative stuff. My email to myself finally came through, this is the work I did with the Vallejos today. As you can see, my technique is still shit, but having a higher-pigment quality paint did help. Gonna take another whack at it tomorrow, maybe rewatch a few of the two thin coats meme guy's videos again and hope some of it rubs off on me.

I thought I'd been had because I didn't get any more info other than a paypal receipt for about 2 months and their website went down, but Chang pulled through in the end. They are honestly really good recasts, it took a little cleaning up but there were no flaws or casting mistakes that I noticed. The only annoying thing was that they came as all loose pieces, so for one of the more modern sets I bought the assembly was a puzzle, but I imagine that's normal. With that said even their smaller pots are still great deals. And their plague ground (green paste) makes me ponder if mixing a dark green paint with their neutral texture for earth or rough terrain could work for bigger moss effects. Been working through the new Trukk.I am not ashamed to admit this is a pretty nice kit by Ork model standards. It's no less mechanically detailed than the 4e one, goes together in a sensible fashion (aside from a bit of fiddliness with the axles but if you don't care to bother with the posing on that you can just glue all that shit immediately flat, though I recommend putting the tires together and on the axles first so you can have it at rest flat), and it looks like there's going to be a surprising amount of useful leftover bits once I'm done. I think my only objective complaint is I wish it was possible to have the cab and flatbed subassembled from the undercarriage just so all that stuff could be more easily accessed for painting and priming, and I thought it would be but the door panels for the cab actually connect directly to the engine block as well as the cab, and the engine block is hard-molded to the undercarriage (which is probably the only mechanical detail that feels strictly inferior to the 4e one).Anyways, not to try and sound like I'm selling people on it, ultimately the kit is stupid expensive and I recognize most people aren't looking for this sort of appeal in a 65 point model they want to toss together 6 of in an army, but the 4th edition Trukk has always been my #1 favorite kit ever produced by GW (and still is, I just prefer the aesthetics of it over this new one), but my worry was this thing was going to be expensive AND feel cheaper than the old one in terms of build quality or utility for other projects and I'm pleased to find that's not the case. It's a higher fidelity model than the old one, with comparable build quality (with some give and take), and any misgivings I have about it I can recognize as personal preference for aesthetics.

One thing I like about old kits sprues is how it's not as fucking cluttered. Like all the new kits the sprue is so fucking cluttered with crap and to remove bits you have to put your clippers into all kinds of angles and such. Old kits it's so easy to just clip shit off. I know this is GW trying to cram as much shit into sprues so they don't need to make as many and thus saving money. But the user experience of old ones is better.

Orks got a bunch of powercreep upgrades ahead of time to deal with T5 marines and got the horde aspect literally ripped from the army for it, S4 T4 was basically what the entire game was balanced around so why the fuck do we have to go to S5 and T5. 3rd-7th did just fine with T4 W1 marines, and T5 no longer causing S3 weapons to wound on 6+ has already given us a ton of granularity.>>98629933Unrelated to above but who is she?
