Are Beastmen inherently evil in Warhammer Fantasy (I know they were all genocided in Age of Sigmar) or is more like 40k where they are regular mutants/abhumans but are so mistreated by the righteous authorities many of them end up embracing Chaos?
>>
>>98631006
They’re inherently evil. Mutants join them and are merely tolerated as the least of them.
>>
>>98631006
Yes, they simply can't help it. They are human intelligence coupled with predatory instincts and hatred for anything that isn't pure Chaos
no bullshit about "nature vs nurture"; being evil is their nature and the product of Chaos
>>
>>98631006
They are born evil and tainted with chaos. No wholesome chungus furries in Warhammer
>>
Yes, they are Chaos-tainted.

40k Beastmen is "the AdMech and Inquisition can't FIND Chaos taint but we're pretty sure".

>Are Beastmen inherently evil in Warhammer Fantasy
Yes. They are fully creatures of Chaos. They are usually also too stupid for empathy. Gaves can be smarter hand have a wider range of moral sophistication, but they're always evil still.

Killing them is a mercy. Their existence is a cruel joke by eldritch evils.
>>
>>98631052
nu-WHF is not WHF. It's basically just an AoS side-product. And it looks the part.

>Are Beastmen inherently evil in Warhammer Fantasy
Yes, anon... yes they are.

No "raising the little monster baby with love" like you Redditors love so much. The moment you raise that young, you will immediately have a Dunwich Horror conundrum in your hands. Their instincts will immediately kick in, and they will eat everyone in your house and start attacking everyone in the village. Beastmen function and run on instinct and primal urges. When they go on Warherds, the Bray Shamans tap in that nature and make them go on blood frenzies. When you see a Beastmen raid, it's just a pure animalistic stampede.

And to follow up the next question, there is a reason why a lot of people in Warhammer Fantasy give up their mutant babies instead of snuffing them out outright. Spilling the blood of a Chaos-touched creature directly, especially with your own hands inside your own home, can leave a spiritual stain or "attract" the gaze of the Dark Gods to the remaining family. Also, a lot of peasants are mired in superstition: Villagers often believe that killing the child outright invites a curse, while leaving it to the "will of the gods" (or nature) absolves the parents of direct murder. If the wilderness claims the child, the parents fool themselves into believing their hands are clean. They also believe that breastfeeding or raising a mutated child is believed to physically infect the mother or corrupt the household's livestock and crops.

There is also the issue of Witch Hunters, Priests of Sigmar, or paranoid neighbors discovering a mutant in a home. The entire family is routinely burned at the stake to purge the corruption. They have to get rid of that shit QUICK. Exposure in the forest is a frantic attempt to destroy the evidence before anyone finds out.

>Are Beastmen inherently evil in Warhammer Fantasy
Yes, Mutants are not, but Beastmen and Skaven are just evil
Tigermen might be the weird exception, and even then, if they don't fervently worship their ancestor god, then they fall to Chaos
>>

>>98631117

that's not a beastman that's yet another old one experiment I'm pretty ure

>>

The cat beastmen had no complex lore in old Warhammer Fantasy, they might not even have actually existed, since the only people reporting on them were Tilean sailors, IIRC.

Also they killed the not-Indians who worshiped them seemingly at random, so it might've just been a 'pajeets are stupid' joke.

They did exist; they even had art in WFRP2e, but they basically weren't developed at all
>>
>>98631195
They have no stats, are mentioned in OWB as an anecdote only and in a piece of art. I'm pretty sure the devs (wisely) thought it was more compelling to leave them to the GMs to develop (or ignore) as they pleased.

Something a lot of people don't know either is that beastmen didn't used to always be goats or cows. Used to be any animal head could show up pretty regularly. Some Chaos gods preferred specific beastmen. Khorne likes dogmen, apparently.
>>
>>98631208
Not the same anon, but from what I recall, rams, goats, and cows are the more common beastmen variety because they're the most common domesticated livestock, especially in the Old World.

Reminds me of Morghur. The moment he came out of his mother's womb and ripped her apart, people started turning into animal freaks, and animals started sprouting limbs and becoming abject abominations, trying to crawl around with human appendages.

Who told you they're supposed to be armored?
OG's had bloated bellies and malformed horns, Darkwater ones are rotting with skulls showing, main game update are birth defects
None of tgoae are supposed to be heavy armored unit
>>
Funny enough the beastmen from 40k are more tolerated and maybe even not inherently chaos tainted.
>>
>>98631635

My Yeezy, how do you intend to crossbreed humans, tigers AND dogs? You gotta choose.

felinids were actually created in a lab and they're on their own planet so the emperor can have his personal cat cafe planet because he's a filthy WEEB
>>
>>98631254
Eh the original ones were pretty sparsely armoured too. I feel like the darkwater ones are pretty close. Would've liked some mail though.
>>
>>98631231
>>98631208
Beastmen almost always displayed domesticated characteristics because their whole aesthetic is around how the docile cow you're milking might despise you and would happily gore you to death if it had the opportunity.
>>
>>98632027
I mean if cows wanted to gore you (or crush you) they can just do it, very little is stopping them
>>
>>98632069
It's like... Symbolic, man.
>>
>>98632087
There's definitely an aspect of that in the WHFB lore golden age, that this world is so fundamentally chaotic that even domesticated nature will rise up and destroy you if you fail in vigilance for even a moment. But Greg Stafford was probably on more of a "vile fertility" kick when he came up with the Broo, and the Broo are utimately the reason there are beastmen in Warhammer.

it's no contest

>And it looks the part.
Don't be silly. AoS actually gets good minis, even if they're not very Warhammer.
>>
>>98631052
They're not beastmen, they're creations of the old ones.
>>
>>98631006
They just have a shit culture. For as close to Chaos as people will claim they are, the gods sure seem to love to ignore them, meaning they have a very dim connection to the warp. If you got them to start worshipping Sigmar you'd get awesome shock troops that you can send out to die first instead of actual humans.
>>
>>98632087
Symbolic of city boys never interacting with farm animals? Believe me, when livestock wants to hurt you, it will.
>>
>>98632272
>For as close to Chaos as people will claim they are, the gods sure seem to love to ignore them
Their souls are already forfeit. The game is won, and therefore gay and boring.
>>
>>98632255
That's what the propaganda says
>>
>>98631006
>Are Beastmen inherently evil in Warhammer Fantasy
Everything and everyone who isn't human, straight, and white, is inherently evil.

This is also true in Warhammer Fantasy.
>>
>>98632272
No. They simply are evil. This has been stated repeatedly and plainly in the army books.
>>98631779
Dog. Besides, dogs can be trained.
>>
>>98634117
>Besides, dogs can be trained.
We're still talking about dog women, and women can't.
>>
>>98631779
>loyal like a DOG?
Liable to maul kids? Shit, give me the tiger mom, at least that's what a tiger is supposed to do.
>>
>>98631118
Now I'm imagining a standard always evil race baby being raised by passive zoomer parents that just give the monster baby an iPad and never discipline them or teach them basic reading and walking and pooping skills
>>
>>98634472
I'm not gonna sleep easy tonight after reading that.
Sometimes I wonder if I've messed up my reading skills as I can't focus. Admittedly not much interests me these days. But my attention span is shot.

Evil in fantasy. Mutants/abhumans in 40K but they get mistreated the most for looking the least human of the 3 that are actually prominently shown so they're more likely to turn to chaos.

They are evil and savage to the core. But that is what makes them fun in my opinion. The air of mystery and superstition around them also open them up to flavor your Warherd as you see fit within the parameters of Beastmen of course.
