>TQMoneys kinda rough rn so maybe its something Ill grab later on. Hopefully my financials are in a decent spot before the year ends. Also we pretty much know nothing about the game itself right? Im curious if the game is at least a good enough base to homebrew more giant fights.
>>98636569I'd be more tempted if they included the Brodd sprue. Not that they're obligated to, but I already have one Mega and the prospect of having all three Vanilla builds is just not that alluring in the year 2026. Especially when I could invest that money into the new models instead. It's good for people with no SoB at all though, or players who want to split a box and get one giant each.
>>98636569I'm only interested in giants for the idea of heavy sculpting customization to make them sexy. But at that point how worth it is it? I could do the same thing with regular minis for less work.
>>98636915>I could do the same thing with regular minis for less work.Is it? I figure with larger models there is more room for freedom and the errors can be fixed more easily.
>>98636934I mean sure for meticulous sculpting you have room but say like giving Sylvaneth two visible ghost boobs. You could likely just shave down the bark & smooth it out or attach two opposite halves. Gargants require actual sculpting.
i have two spearhead boxes, the og ossiarchs and idonethi'm interesteth in buying the ultimate starter set are the stormcast and skaven spearheads included balanced against the ones i already own? should i just buy the city of ash box? i'm somewhat more interested in being able to play spearhead, but i like the rats well enough and the ultimate starter set is slightly less than buying the city of ash + separate standalone spearhead
>>98636569>TQConceptually, yes. But I won't buy it.
>>98637004From what i saw online City of Ash is poorly balanced against itself, with CoS being hard to play and Ninja rats being realy OP in general. So if your concern is balance you should probably go for the other box.
>>98637047ah, no, i should have clarifiedi'm talking about the small city of ash set that only has like, terrain and rules and stuff, no spearheads
>>98636569Very. If it's a decent enough discount it'll be a definite "yes" for a buy from me. Especially since there's an actual game attached.
>>98637079Rules can be found for free online and spearhead is easy to make, so you should focus on the warbands you like
>>98637090oughummmmmmmmmmmyay!
>>98636946don't bother. buy a 3d printer instead. Sculpting is incredibly hard and it's a waste because you won't be good at it without practice. buy a cheap printer for £200 (price of new army set)learn blender use SoB scans print custom Gargants no need to waste money on greenstuff
>>98637401printing is a whole other hobby initself though.
>>98637401Milliput is what's used for sculpts like this. There's not the same joy either in making something with your hands compared to printing. The real cost is the models themselves so I can't argue against saving money with printing at least.
>>98637422you can't do it trust me. 3d modelling is way easier and there's no time limit or waiting for curing to start I tried to use greenstuff and it was horrible. stuck to my tools, stuck to my fingers, you have to use vaseline to lubricate everything which is very slimy
>>98637436>you have to use vaseline to lubricate everything which is very slimySomething about this is very funny to read, I dont know why. Anyways you're supposed to use gloves,
>>98636569Nah, but I'll look for cheap splits to complement the kit with Brodd options I bought ages ago. The whole 4 model army thing doesn't sit with me, so I'd never want more than Brodd + Warstomper anyway. >Brodd >Me Gran That's already probably 1k and I want a bunch of the new lil guys
>>98637483I assume the intent is having only 1 named character. So either you have your priest Brodd or wizard Megran
>Dude just proont
>>98637503DONT FORGET KRAGNOS!
>>98637503I can't imagine they'd restrict it but I would expect a Brodd AoR that can't include Maegran or vice versa
>>98637536Yeh i also didn't forget the fucking Kruleboyz balista RoR from 3e in Highlander Paupar Spearhead format (age bracket 18-35)
