From the description mimicry is like taking a video that you can replay whenever, but you don't actually learnt the principles behind that move, it's like having game moves that are the same every time. I'd like him to be the archetypical Dragon, as in a disaster level that you can't face head on, but also carrying all the weaknesses that lead to them falling off while Fae influence grows. He can be used to humble the warriors on the cast, while also getting humbled himself by the sages and schemers. I don't want him to neither be just a power fantasy where he always wins, but also not a complete joke that always loses.The other scale is more about the normalcy vs horror. The aim is to provide space for contrast between just posh douchebaggery and the horrific (from human perspective) acts that supernaturals can commit, with Dragons as one of the archetypical monsters representing that too through one of the harsher dietary requirements in the cyoa. In the MP we have SoL college setting, but it's also a monster-based one, and that should not be forgotten. The SoL should set up the horror to pump up the shock value through contrast, and the horror should shake up the SoL so that it does not turn into boring "nothing ever happens" thing.Long term, Azzam could turn into a villain the group up to take down, and he falls for his hubris, or even just manipulated by some bigger antagonist into becoming a threat. They might try, but it reminds me of that story about Tyson wanting to go fight a gorilla. But with their magic and more importantly the social prowess, they can be more than a threat for him. In particular, the interactions with Ingen might be interesting. Also, the bird reactions could be funny, because of Dragon's innate dominance over all animals.From other manipulative characters that could play him, there are Lucy, Lori and the club trio (dunno what we should refer to them as a collective). Only given the fact that the vampiric haste is one (and as far as I remember the only) power that specifies that the speed boost can be used in a fight, which implies the other boosts are more travel oriented. Moreover a high top speed isn't the same as extreme acceleration. It probably takes some undescribed amount of time to reach top speed, as it would with any object. Overall it seems more true to the intent of the creator and less of an obscene outlier in ability when you think of it being a feat of dragons, or I guess the feat of a specific subspecies of dragons, moving at such a high speed when going from distance to distance. After all, the myth of dragons being the end of kingdoms and all that in a vague contextual way couldn't happen if they could only threaten a town or two over the span of weeks which would suggest high traveling speed, but there's no suggestion in such myths of dragons swinging a claw at something as absurd as the speed of sound.

>>98661497Nta. Vampire haste and fae haste are the exact same thing, same wording and everything. Yokai haste is faster but also specifies it gives you the skills necessary to use it in a fight. Pursuit and divine speed are the only ones that don't give you a dexterity boost, those are clearly intended for travel but given that they aren't that fast maybe fighting at that speed isn't too difficult. Velocity on the other hand gives a dex boost but doesn't specify that it's for combat, it just says that you can "safely use it" not mentioning a fight unlike the others. So with pursuit and divine speed you need to bridge the gap with something else, haste has it covered by itself no matter the version, and velocity is at a strange middle ground where it probably helps a little but it isn't built for it by itself.

It could mean something like lift off the ground to literally throw over your head hulk style, to which I would argue of some middle ground leaning towards the former rather than the latter. Ultimately though, I would say that the lift feat by itself is probably more conducive to combat speed, given reasonable interpretation, since having the leg strength and so on to bear such loads suggests muscular prowess sufficient to move quickly. The biggest issue is friction because the coefficients get ridiculous, so you need some mechanical anchoring, and in hybrid form even if we assume claws anchoring into pavement, the pavement would likely not be able to handle the shear force.But omitting that, because magic, the time and distance required to reach Mach 1 would be:human form: 0.57 s / 114 mhybrid form: 0.45 s / 79 mand to reach 99% top speed:human form: 1.37 s / 436 m hybrid form: 2.81 s / 1.78 kmAlso, the percentage of that lift strength that has to be converted into propulsion to reach that top speed is 56.4% for human form and 27.4% for hybrid. Comparing that to a sprinter, it requires specifying that lift type, it said that they convert roughly 50% of their deadlift, 132% of overhead press and 75% of clean % jerk. So the Dragon would likely use a lesser percentage of the strength to run than a sprinter, but in human form possibly not that much depending what that lift strength meant exactly.So due to that, in a normal fight the initial charge is likely subsonic, but strikes might be, doubly so off that initial charge, and even more so in the hybrid form.
