>inb4 another settang thread

I'm not asking about whether you have cat girls in your shitpunk setting, I want to know about cool ass maybe obscure game settings whether it's for DnD or for another game entirely that the anons here have played in(preferably) or have read about.

I've been reading up on Dark Sun and Council of Wyrms and I want to know more

Degenesis has some neat vibes and lore, stuck with bad rules.

Setting is window dressing at best in most cases at my table, because the group naturally moves to goofy endeavors, so playing regular D&D, dark sun, cyberpunk or fabula ultima changes little.

That said, I do enjoy reading about some cool things here and there. The latest niche find has been age of zargo, an OSR from around 2010 based on the setting of an italian boardgame from the 70s or something. Reading into it and it's quite cool.

Dragonmech
not so regular fantasy setting gets apocalypse'd by its moon changing orbit, getting closer to the planet and getting most of its surface torn off by the gravitational shift, thus unleashing a near extinction event (the lore implies most population in the hemisphere where most of the action goes on has been killed by meteorites, and the other half of the world is straight up dead)
worse still; the moon is inhabited by monstruous versions of average d&d creatures and worse, and they're invading the surfaced like how tyranids and orks invade planets by crashing onto them, with lunar dragons being the worst of all, as they're stronger than earthly dragons and kind of Lovecraftian. The dwarves stem the tide of shit by building mechs, allowing a fighting chance for the survivors of the apocalypse
I've been working on running this with pf2 for some time now and I'm getting close. In a few months at the soonest I'd try to start running games in my local gaming club

I very much like Kult: divinity lost. It is loosely based off of Gnosticism, and it allows you to do horror without PCs dying off all the time. The lore is exceedingly well made IMO, and the balance between what is known and what is not known is well done. The drawback is that it requires acting from both the GM and the players to be really fun, it is very much not for casual players.

Those were fun threads but lasted much longer when the creator started getting offended about bad wrongfun and not agreeing with his african cuck fantasy.

The best pnp setting is The Dark Eye. It is a basic fantasy concept with, but a German degree of autism in its execution. Centuries of history, lineages, politics, religion, etc. It's all super in-depth. This tickles my German autism brain.

Are the Orcs still black and hairy?

They are called "blackpelts" as a slur, yes.

Underground, 80s and 90s Marshal Law style ptsd super heroes and conspiracies in a shithole cyberpunk dystopia. Very over the top.
Fading Suns, space opera with middle ages europe themes, dunelike noble houses and intrigue, ancient prophecies and the stars themselves are dimming.
Yoon-Suin. Fantastical south east asian pastiche with just the right amount of orientalism and opium infused strangeness. Slugmen, ancient cities, haunted green hell jungles to tibet like northern mountains that are familiar but different and have a lot of good resources for generating locations in that mix.

I knew about witchcraft and ConspiracyX. I also checked out Armaguedon. Blue Planet I didn't know about and it looks really cool.

Mechs fighting lunar dragons sounds pretty badass ngl, I'll check that one out

That's a gnarly cover. Super hero settings are kind of interesting, there's a lot of them, I'll make sure to check out Underground anon thanks

>Super hero settings are kind of interesting, there's a lot of them,
They usually don't do it for me but Marshal Law comics have an absurdity to them that works and Underground is heavily inspired by it
