Why include a level 20 NPC that can solve all the worlds problems only for him to sit by and watch the party do most of it?
>puckee thread
He's old. You can't EXPECT him to do everything, and that matters.
Even at level 20 you still need to eat.
>>98649511That issue was solved 19 levels ago.
>>98649501Peak Boomer leaving the world to burn for future generations.
The best opinion in this thread EVER: Being a high level wizard should come with an age requirement that specifically diminishes your physical attributes and capacities.
>>98649536>classes>druid, ranger
>>98649536Where'd you get the mistletoe doe
>>98649558conveniently there's a feat to get level 1 spell from another class>>98649565Wish is into existence
>pukee filth
>>98649624>Wish is into existenceCan't you just buy it from a shop?
>>98649121>Why include a level 20 NPC that can solve all the worlds problems only for him to sit by and watch the party do most of it?Because fantasy RPGs are copies of copies of people who read Tolkien and copied a bunch of stuff without the other stuff that made it make sense. So a wizard who is way more powerful than the party but for some reason isn't doing the quest is now a genre expectation.
>>98649990He did. Up your ass.
>>98650003...and it's not even an accurate copy of what happens in Tolkien since Gandalf does go on the quest.
>>98650026It's more Merlin than Gandalf who is like that.
>>98649556mental attributes too, those start to drop at 35 or so
>>98649121Because they're not his fucking problems.
>>98649121In 3.5 Forgotten Realms, there's literally hundreds of 20th level casters. I'm not making that up. Like fucking 60+ of them attended the ritual that killed Blackstaff. They're just doing other things. It's canon that liches often rise and fall without anyone even knowing about them. That's partially how Demilichs happen.
>>98649121Fuck off.
>>98649121What? You expect the CEO of a company to zip out for his own coffee, or unblock his own toilet? No, he gets a low level adventurer in to do it while he carries on with his world shaking level shit.
>>98650032in Tolkien parallel, it would be more like Tom Bombadil
>>98649121Kill yourself.
>>98649121I had a level 20 wizard and guess what? He started cheery and happy but after all the horrible shit hes seen and watched his friends die, he became bitter and jaded prefering to hide in his demiplane with his NPC wife now. Also its a lot of fucking work to get the ball rolling like I tried manipulating a king once after shitting on his archmage by wizard duel and the DM made the proccess of mini shadow manipulator wizard management gruelling as I had to make sure everything went according to plan. Now the idea of sending a bunch of dumbasses to solve it is relaxing
>>98649558Just take one level of Druid, bro.

Why are puckee's commissions so unimaginably boring? Doesn't he have a single creative bone in his body?
>>98654964you can't pay people to be creative?
>>98654964>commissionsWait, it's not AI?
>>98655100Some of them appear to be ai generated and then photoshopped.
>>98655448No they’re real commissions, just bad ones
>>98655100run it through reverse image search, first occurrence should be from before AI generated images started being a thing

>>98649511Nice thumbnail retard
>>98655637I didn't say they weren't commissions.
>>98655100It is. He paid money for AI, lmao.
>>98656949No I mean they were drawn/not ai>>98658703They are boring sure, uninspired too but they are clearly not ai commissions. You can easily tell if you know what to look for
>>98658883This is very obvious AI.
>>98659733Not that anon but what makes you think it is AI and not just puckee sucking at finding artists? Crappy artists exist long before AI and will exist even with AI existing.
>>98650745Good point
>>98649121Why do you insist on posting your sloppa over and over? Humiliation fetish?
>>98650402Based Wizard.
>>98649121Update your ai model, puckee, this looks like shit.
>>98649121because he's autistic. Wizards could make the world a better place but don't want to and don't know how to actually function on their own. You have to drag your wizard on adventures and point them at things. You walk into a puzzle room and they'll just sit on the floor scribbling in a spellbook while everyone else has to solve it. They could have just magic'd the entire doorframe away but they complained about there being magic seals and not wanting to have to deal with that.
>>98661675I always enjoy using a level 20 immortal ranger. He only spoke in idioms that are total nonsense. Why doesn't he save the world? He is over 500 years old after beating the big bad those years ago he enjoyed retirement unaware someone in his party used a wish that he wouldn't die. As he watched his loved ones die around one by one, he finally snapped and retreated into the woods. The 400ish years of him being a recluse cause him to fall out of sync with society. He speaks the old common tongue. His mind has increasingly regressed to an animal more then human. Why include him? Three reasons. Deus ex machina if the party does something that unknowingly would cause their deaths. Random encounter for the party to deal with. In possession of a long lost relic the party must get from him, ideally without combat as he could merc them very easily. To say it more succinct with his idioms, "I came across two rabbits in the woods, one ran and one brave. I ended the cowards and fed the brave."
>>98662068>"I came across two rabbits in the woods, one ran and one brave. I ended the cowards and fed the brave."Slain the smart and fattened up the foolhardy. I'm sure a fox will be grateful.
>>98649121Blow it out your ass, Zak Gilmore.
>>98662068I was joking with a friend about a story idea he had where you have the traditional chosen one hero going off to fight a big bad only to find out he was just beaten to the punch by a regular villager guy who "got the lads together and took care of it". I suggested one of the lads was a 500 year old half elf hick woodcutter who when asked about the whole thing was like "oh yeah this overlord wasn't as bad as the one we had last time." and this is the third or fourth big bad he's lived through and second he's directly helped killing. It's just a thing that happens over the centuries. You stop keeping track after the third.
>>98649121You should include yourself in this year's suicide statistics, Zak.
>>98661675lol, good point.
>>98649121Hot damn! This looks like shit!
