I think warlock should be a sorcerer subclass
I think Warlock should have a prerequisite in that...you have to be sufficiently leveled in something else to where you can even communicated with some other entity.
>>98653045I think the entire concept of DnD casters should be redone from the ground up to make something more interesting to play without having to be the glue that holds the system together because it serves as a 'do anything' button that has to account for anything the GM might cook up that needs a hyper specific solution to. The "optimal" spells across DnD are the ones that allow the player to simply ignore as much of the rest of the game as possible at functionally no cost because how many times a day you can do that. Thats super lame.
>>98653045I am a firm believer that the Binder could have made a great basis for the Warlock class. You could have interesting gameplay by having to choose how much power you take from your patrons and an appropriate level of consequences that could stem from it in a way the vestiages affected the Binder (i.e. alters your physical appearance or makes you prone to doing certain actions in line with your vestiage/patron).Not only would this be a good way of having a "witch" clas but it could be a divine class and be distinct from clerics and druids.
