>>98655611I'm still trying to get a feel for how much to thin down paints and how to properly utilize brushes, but each session I get a little better so that helps to not get discouraged>>98655613yeah I realized I gotta slow down and not expect to paint an entire kill team in a 6 hour session, just focus on getting all the details right on one or two models. also I realized I can use sharpie pens for the little details and I think that'll help out a lot.
Which named chapter master has the biggest base? I wanna paint my Johnny up and run him in a slow grow league, but I want to put him on the base with the most empty space possible. I mean maybe Suboden Khan? Is that the same size as an Outrider base or is it bigger?

We have specific groups for second hand warhams in my country, so even a little better than just straight marketplace, and I sell them off as big cheap job lots so even if somebody only wants one or two units, it's still worthwhile to them to buy and either keep the rest for bitz or try sell off what they don't want. Still, no matter how hard I state "NO SPLITS" I still get a bunch of requests to split and sell individual units, I get people requesting further pics when I take care to put photos up of everything at a decent resolution, it's frustrating

So Vanguard Vets with JP wargear options allows you to give any number of models any of the pistols on the list. Except may be the grav for an anti-vehicle unit, I can’t see why I wouldn’t choose all inferno pistols for a BA army. Sure, I can’t give them the power weapons which have have increased strength, AP and damage at the cost of one less attack, but LAS will make up for that. I get them right outside of engagement range and the pistols get the 2 melta damage on top of the D3 and -4ap. Any infantry unit, including terminators, without inv is cooked after shoot/fight phase. Plus, anything still alive can get another round of shooting the next turn with whatever is left after the fight phase. I really don’t see why I should choose anything else. Am I in the wrong?

>>98656387I'll be pretty surprised if any of the old kit options survive now that new multipart van vets are coming out. It'll be power weapons, 3 plasma pistols and optional shields.
>>98656393They look straight out of an RTS and I mean that in a good way
>>98655620Just do a Fulgrim 130 base
>>98656340Nobody hates eldar. But people eldarfags for many reasons:>original waacfags since 2e>seething butthurt at other factions for being more popular or good in the game>shitposting, falseflagging and rage baiting (3/4 of primaris arguments were caused by them)>always whining about something>bad losers, uppity winners>delusions about the role of Eldar in the settingThe list goes on.
>>98656398I think you quoted the wrong post, but that was my earlier post/question.I am figuring they’ll probably update the kits so I’m not making any model decisions at the moment. It does seem pretty dated compared to most of the other options. I may just turn the vanguard vets I have with the Armageddon box into more Death Company and get another kit when they update everything.
>>98656399Thanks an interesting observation, lol. Thanks!
>>98656411They already announced the update.
>>98656406Newfag here, what’s waac?
>>98656416win at all costSweatlords.
Do you think it’s worth magnetizing the heavy bolter/flamer on a Basilisk tank?
>>98656406I have never firsthand seen any of these things in 40kg. Do you have any screenshots or proof to backup your claims? Keep in mind I started in late late 10th post eldar nerf, so they have always been a weak faction to me.
>>98656340There's been a rotation of at least 3 diehard eldar haters. One was the slaaneshi throoder, another is the decalfag, the third is the guy having weekly spergouts about the length of bolters. In all 3 the eldar hate manifests as a pathological necessity to see them fail in any way whatsoever (rules, fluff, models), or to state their belief that they're unpopular as if it was fact, and get offended when that belief, or alleged failure, is somehow challenged or even partially revalued. In all 3 cases there's expressions of sexual frustration and humiliation, and in all 3 cases there have been generalisations about the fanbase at large from the behaviour of a strawman in the thread itself, from a projection of the hater's behaviour himself, or from years (if not decades) old memes about their use at tournaments and other waacfag games. In all 3 cases there's an appropriation of their respective faction's in-setting opinions about them (respectively slaaneshi, imperials, necrons) instead of their own genuine out-of-setting opinion, that goes beyond larped banter. In other instances of eldar/elf hate elsewhere there's a recurring thread of feeling the need to curb them in balance or overcorrection over the fact that elves are often defined as a race where the members are superior to a human, and of attributing them negative traits (physically, morally, historically) to justify the curbing or to prove that they're not actually superior; this is also adjacent to pseudo-christian fervour and real life racism, or quick hatred and racism towards many other races of the settings in question, emerging from the same discussions. The insistence in arguing that the haters are in the popular side while the elves are unpopular is the most telling sign that this is an attempt to validate oneself by bullying something else, whatever it may be, and that elves are an easy target for this because their inherent superiority creates insecurity.tl;dr
>>98656406Your imagination has gotten the better of you and led you on a toddle to headcase territory.
not too fond of when someone calls a faction by their copyrighted nameit's like calling it that way because GW told you to, buckbroken behaviour
Play Adeptus Titanicus. Alternatively Legions Imperialis.
>>98656421Usually you want to magnetize whenever you can, but for artillery I’d say you can get away with a bolter and just move on
>>98656432what would be the t'a'u's' not copyrighted name? grey samurais?
>>98656425oh it's a small collection of schizos that have a hate boner for space elves. huh weird but I guess autism fixation is a thing on 4chan
>>98655298I see One Page Rules in your op. Do people here actually post non gw minis here?
>>98656437anon it was literally just tau
>>98656433>Play small scale Warhammer yes, anon>Horus Heresy era factions onlyno, anon
>>98656424Lurk moar, and see >>98656425 , >>98656430 for examples of what I'm talking about.Again, the Eldar themselves are great. But their "fans" here in /tg/ are some of the worst shitposters
>>98656437I think he means Astra Militarum vs Imperial Guard. Tau waz Kingz n shit were always Tau so it doesn't could. But the answer would probably be weaboo mecha.
>>98656433No. I will instead buy a knight and some spray cans
>>98656442That's still a copyrighted name instead of a generic name, it's as if drukhari was the name gw went it first instead of dark eldar.Unless your gripe is with the fact the name was changed rather than the fact the name is some cringe made up term instead of a generic one like space marine or imperial guard.
>>98656406What's your opinion of the bolt rifle?
>>98656283>>98656298>>98656306Only losers switch and drop their weapons; you just have to learn to kill better with the one you already have.
>>98656452https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tauit's not copyrightable
>>98656447I guess I'll be the one normal eldar enjoyer then. proof
>>98656432I’ve played deldar since forever, but I’ve started calling them Drukhari because I’m actually more fond of it than generic “dark eldar”. It sounds more sophisticated than, “I’m playing dark side evil space elves”.
What's this I hear about GW stores no longer giving out free monthly miniatures? This true or some drama-slop rumor?>>98655333most recently painted model that's 40k AND has been photographedI just finished some 3 nurgle aligned chaos marauders for TOW and 2 of the new space marines (imperial fists ofc)>>98655440jesus christ I never noticed how fat the handles on power weapons are
>>98656454Not him but they are cool. Auto boltrifles are great. The giant box magazine just feels right a for a bolter and the drum on top makes the gun look bulky.I know that in SM2 the silver thing spins for some reason but I think it is kinda silly so instead I think of it as a static cover that can be removed for maintenance.
>>98656432Kinda agree but I feel its only egregious when you've been playing for awhile and you're not a newfren. If you're going to stand there and tell me you've been an Astra Militarum player since third edition, that's when I roundhouse kick you in your mouth.
>>98656458It's not really a generic name either, and it's not being used to have any meaning with the real tau word, and if anything it's just a deformation of tao from taoism, if it's not copyrightable it's only incidentally so.>>98656437The generic name so would be tao empire instead of tau empire.
>>98656432There's nothing weird about immersing yourself into the setting.
>>98656466It's true, until they make a new thing to give out miniatures. Maybe it'll cost 5 pounds now but for now miniature of the month is dead
>>98656461Got for you, anon. Enjoy you knife ears.Just please do not become a seething, shitposting asshole like them.
>>98656432I like Star Army for the guard.
Yeah I play Guard.
>>98656454^ Perfect example of an eldarfag trying to start an argument about space marines
>>98656447Telling you that eldar players secretly pulling the strings behind space marine drama is a figment of your imagination is actually proving that that is the case?I retract my earlier statement. Your imagination hasn't gotten the better of you; you are just of a pathetic creature of exceedingly low intelligence severe mentall illness.
>>98656467>for some reasonJes goodwin's sketches imply it's some form of small engine, presumably so it actively helps in the gun's moving parts instead of relying on just springs. It being a thing also on plasmas/flamers and the like, would mean it can be used to help in cooling or pressure or whatever the gun needs. In some cases it's physically impossible for it to spin because the "teeth" over it would get in the way of something or there's some other bit attached to the top, so we have to assume it is also possible that there are versions of the engine that only spin internally instead of externally. That is, if you really really want to force some consistency out of the sci fi guns instead of handwaving it as inability or laziness in gun designs.
>>98656458Surely it can be trademarked or treated as trade dress though right? X isn't copyrightable(nor sure it be) but I suspect there are some protections for the website formally (and currently) known as Twitter.
>>98656488It would only create an argument if your opinion about the gun proved that you were one of the terminally online eldar haters anon mentioned >>98656425so you are that guy
>>98656477Sounds more like you're immersing yourself in corporate mandates than the setting.
>>98656447All those post just show you're a looney
>>98656480im a pretty jovial lady anon. i would rather paint my models than shitpost here or get mad about plastic toys lol
>>98656493I'll just say it is a static metal cover that hides the actual working bits of the gun.Your explanation doesn't really discount that option.
>>98656504You do both plenty pretty much anytime you come here looking for attention
>>98656487>no vehiclesLmao ur list is gonna get tabled instantly
>>98656454I am disappointed that it's not a rifle that shoots lightning bolts.
>>98656510idk why u are so obsessed with me
>>98656493It's space magic. Space magic is all we need to say.
>>98656489>blah blah deflection after being outed>>98656499why do you turn an argument about eldarfags into one about Marines? Eldarfag deflection and falseflagging, that's why. After lurking here for a few years, it's obvious who you are.
>>98655317It was neat that stormtroopers had a unique hellguns profile. I want a special rule or unique profile for the hellgun, and ideally a datasheet for the agents army.
ImperiumWe are 50,000 year old civilization saaar/ Respect our religion saaar/ Bloody benchood basterd eldar bitch I send you nudes, why you no sent me bobs and vagene?!
>>98656447the guy who constantly does marine factionalism (which is pathetic as fuck when we all play with the same toys) falseflags as an eldar player all the time. the actual eldar posters like wraithforce and teal ghost titan anon are chill as hell.
>>98656500Not really.
>>98656425You got the guy down to a T.>>98656406
I've been having some thoughts.About the differences between actual community and the kind of insular nature of social media posting.Basically, the old vBulletin forums and blogsphere where probably better for fostering community than Instagram etcI'm not talking modern 40k because that is the equivalent of like, being a sports fan, various levels of slop are just on a plate for you.
