A new dwarf "unit": enemy treasure pile. You get to place it in the enemy deployment zone and as long as you move towards it your infantry increases their movement by one.

high elf spearmen have spare quivers with bows to make lothern sea guards, plus a tiny dragon head to put on the bowarm out of the quiver, if you really need the dragon in the name to show on the bit, otherwise I'd consider painting the quiver like it was made with dragon hide, with large handpainted scales.
you can try looking for the bit online or ask for a spare one from any helf player.

Dwarves are Jewish, they’re movement speed would increase by 5.

I don't like the idea of my enemy changing the characterisation of my army.
Why are you the one to decide that my dudes have stolen your treasures?

Wouldn't it work better if they were more abstract tokens you could place on areas of the table or on enemy units to highlight what your dudes think are deserving of a grudge, regardless of whether their beliefs are actually substantiated?

The Dwarf players places a mini that represents the opposing player's hoard. Whether it's theirs, something they just dug up or maybe even stolen from the dwarfs is up to the players.

>>
>>98661877
because training a wizard and training a knight are very different things that arise from very different contexts and institutions

it's rare for a man(knight) to develop magical powers in adulthood, and it's rare for a wizard to have the kind of backing to be a knight
at best you can get battle wizards that become way more trained and experienced in actual warfare than the scholarly pursuit of their respective college, but even then magic and armors don't mix very often due to how armor can act as a trap for magic energies
armored knightly wizards would likely arise the most from the golden college

>>98661872
So you say. It may be trivial for those who are proficient, but for those whose art abilities are still more rudimentary (like mine) it can be a helpful tool. And even for experienced artists it can certainly be a way to save time, being only required to edit out any blatant errors.

Ah yes, that most essential and fulfilling step of an artist's creative process, "saving time by skipping the creative process".

Respectfully, please stop posting the colorslopped images dude, I held off from posting my displeasure about them but clearly nobody likes them, they're an interesting curiosity to see once but any more than that and they're detracting from the general, I'm afraid to say you're not a genius for having discovered AI can do things for you that you previously couldn't do, and the original artists' works really don't need your alterations to stand on their own merits. Part of the essence of Warhammer is the black and white art printed through each army book; you're removing a piece of that essence in what you're doing. You see your 'improvements' to the artwork, we see picrel.

Yesterday, I played two back to back 1k point games against Tomb Kings, a standard pitched battle of 6 turns.

The Orcs and Khemri initially approached cautiously, with the wolfs running around the left flank. The light chariots rammed into the boars, impact hits whiffing entirely! After a catastrophic charge, the chariots were wiped out, with Grotfang overrunning into the Ushabati!

Grimtoof, the jaded Black Orc, advanced up field with the trolls. The arrer boyz were torn apart by magic and fled. Soon, battle was joined with Grimtoof and his boyz charging the Prince's tomb guard alongside the trolls.

The boars were destroyed with two Ushabati left, only for Snagrog to run in with his big uns, slaying the Ancient himself and the other crumbling!

Grimtoof and his boyz put up an admirable fight, the beleagured black orc being cut down trying to challenge the tomb guard. However the trolls, with their terrible great weapons, struck down the tomb prince in two melees!

Grintoof's boyz FBIGO, but the trolls gave ground, saving their lives.

The wolves having flanked the tomb kings scared the Tomb priest/heirophant enough to run into the skeleton unit. They did not however end up doing more as they were too afraid to charge!

The trolls were destroyed but the tomb guard failed to restrain, getting caught up in Grimtoof's boyz. Snagrog rammed into the skeletons, calling a challenge. The Priest accepted and was sliced apart, the remaining skeletons collapsing.

The Orcs had won ! This was after disastrous rolls from the Khemri.

The repeat game went far better for them, my own deployment farcing me using wolves as shields for my boars. The Chariots were destroyed but the boars were still blocked off by the wolf rider boss!

Snagrog and the big uns charged the ushabati who had advanced and although they were destroyed,Snagrog's Shiny armour failed as 3 wounds went through his double 5+ save! OOF!

The big uns soon broke with the loss of their leader as the priest got his revenge. With the wolfs dead and the boar boyz too slaughtered by the tomb guards, as well as Grotfang's boyz run down, we called it there.

Today I played a set of poorhammer and floorhammer, with 3 battle march games and one 1k game.

The first game was the Bridge scenario which saw the Cathayan crane gunners shred into the orc lines. The Orcs advanced, the troll charging into the Gate Master abmnd his retinue. Despite dealing a wound, the troll was cut down. The big uns ended the game, holding their nerve despite the crane gun volleys, slaying the jade lancers who tried to shield the gate master and charging into the regiment, both gate master and Snagrig exchanging wounds. The day was won by Cathay!

The last two games of Battle March was the caravan scenario and the Defend the town scenario.

The second saw a caravan escape but the Cathayans overrun. The cathayans had a balloon, two jade warrior units, game master abd jade lancers. The Orcs were lucky to reach the lines, overrunning the infantry on one flank, annihilating the lancers on the other. Snagrog's big uns reached the gate masters regiment, neither being able to break the other, the gane ended in orcish victory.

The last one, defending the village, saw cathay bring 8 gunners, the balloon and jade warriors with a gare master holding the monkey stick.

Despite withering gunfire, the orcs charged into their lines, the gunners being annihilated and the balloon overran into.

The jade lancers charged the arrer boyz and crushed them, with Snagrig facing off against the gate master and his monkey stick.

Roaring a WAAAGH and having charged, Snagrog's huge choppa split the Gate Master in two before he could swing, the jade warriors breaking from the horrific charge and being cut down.

The Orcs had succeeded pushing further into Empire land having won 2/3 games, and mortally wounding their leader!

Thanks man. But that isn't all. We had one last battle.

The last game of the day on Floorhammer was a pitched battle, my friend once more commanding Korgoth's Blood Horde, facing Da Skull Smashaz.

I discussed multiple options, including a giant chaos spawn replacing the knights and upgrading Korgoth to a chaos lord or Daemon Prince. However he chose to keep as before.

Da Skull Smashaz, after much negotiation, shouting and tolerating vomit inducing flatulance, had recruited a giant to their ranks!

The orcs managed to gain the initiative, putting Grotfang's boars forward with Snagrog bellowing to his big uns and giant to advance cautiously.

The trolls advanced with Grimtoof's boyz and the wolf boyz charging forward. As well.

Screaming their warcry of BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! the Chaos Warriors, Knights and Korgoth's chosen charged forward. Grotfang fled, pulling Korgoth's Chosen directly in front of the giant and Snagrog! Similarly the chaos knights launched forward, finding themselves facing Grimtoof and his boyz and a pair of angry trolls.

Bellowing a mighty WAAAGH, Snagrig and his boyz thundered forward into Korgoth's Chosen, the giant easily stomping into the veteran knights. Battle had truly been joined!

With a deafening crash of weapons, steel and muscle, the Big uns met the Chosen knights in melee, the giant trampling among them. Even the khornate chosen, veterans of a legion of battles, did not expect such resistannce.

Pushing his way further into the melee, ducking a lance which impaled a nearby big un, Snagrog saw his target. Towering among them, a juggernaut of death and destruction, was Korgoth the destroyer. Concealed in pure steel armour, blessed by the gods and an axe nearly the size of his own, the exalted champion roared defiantly as its gigantic daemonic mount screeched as it tore into the Orcs.

"YOU'RE MINE!" roared Snagrog, feeling a ruinous weapon ring off his armour, he stomped forward until he was face to face with his nemesis. He struck out, choppa swinging overhead but something was wrong. Just as he the blade was about to strike Korgoth, an invisible force deflected away. Again he struck, again the weapon was deflected by something unholy. Chaos magic!

Korgoth laughed and struck back but Snagrog anticipated it, leaning his shoulder forward. The axe rang deafeningly off the Meteoric plate, a blow which would have slain any lesser warrior.

The Chosen struggled to harm either the big uns or Chosen meaningfully and despite their duel, fell back stubbornly.

Korgoth struck out against the giant, cutting deep into its flesh, the chosen too lashing out. The giant cried out in pain as its body was bloodily torn into. It gave ground, Korgoth intending to finish the beast and claim a mighty skull for Khorne. Befire he could raise his axe again, he heard a bellowing cry

"I AINT DONE WITH YOU HUMIE!"

Snagrog and his big uns crashed once more into the Chosen, Korgoth rearing his daemonic hount to meet the Orc Warboss.

"Come greenskin! I am Korgoth the Destroyer! No mere beast can slay me! Khorne watches me!"

Again Snagrog felt the invisible force throw aside his weapon the moment befire contact. The stinkin chaos humies armour had strong magic, the shaman warned him! A second, third and fourth.

Korgoth let out a terriying laugh, a metallic, booming sound. His armour, crafted by the dark denizens of Chaos itself, was not only a formidable piece of protection, but would deflect any weapon aimed for him, as long as he focused on the opponent. He watched as the enormous Orc, who almost dwarfed his massive daemonic hound, swung futily at him.

Rearing high on his mount, Korgoth and his daemon came crashing down like the fist of an angry god. His axe screeched as it tore into the metal of the Orc's armour, so strong it was that it ddflected the axe, but into the Greenskin's flesh. It cut deep and the orc let out a large roar of pain.

None could defeat him, for he was Korgoth, slayer of man and beasts alike. Dukes, Ogres, even undead had fallen to his blade.

---

His weapon could land a blow, the chaos magic was too much. But he couldn't not fight this Chaos boss without his weapon. He had to use his head like Mork would. Big thinkin. Suddenly, as if by Gork (or Mork), he had an idea. If his axe couldn't hurt the chaos boss...maybe...

In the last moment, Snagrog, side stepped, the beast and axe barely missing anither strike He was open. Before the chaos boss could turn, Snagrog took a great step forward. Bellowing, he slammed his head straight into its head. A crack resounded over the field. Korgoth staggered, clearly shaken, his helm cracked.

Swinging, Snagrig axe finally met metal, ripping through with a deafening screech and the satisfying feeling of chopping flesh.

An agonised scream eminated from Korgoth's helm as he staggered aloft his mount, his grip on his axe weakening.

Worse, the four last chosen knights had been struck from their saddles as the giant had jumped atop the regiment. In horror, he fled.

Korgoth felt something he had not in millenia, pain. Blood seeped from his armour, his mounts grip on reality faded. His vision turned crimson, his focus shattered. After the orc had headbutted him, he had lost focus and his armour had allowed the beasts axe to wound him.

He fled as fast as he could, his mount loping away with the Orcs and Giant in hot pursuit. Suddenly, a vision. A towering figure, the size of a mountain, glared down at him. Its eyes stared into his very soul. It burnt.

Khorne. This was a sign. Khorne was truly watching. Now was his time for glory. He rallied, his axe streaming with crackling chaos energy, his hound once more rearing.

The Orcs parted and the Orc Warboss charged forward. Korgoth raised his axe and swung with all his might, both hound and warrior intending to end this fight. First the claw, then the axe, but both merely struck harmlessly from the gleaming armour of the Orc.

The Orc leaped. For a moment, another flash of red before his eyes, Khorne's gaze was upon him. Korgoth raised his own blade to meet it but a second flash blinded him as he felt once more the sensation of his flesh being cut into.

Another cry, another blow, the orc's axe ripped a chunk of metal and gore from the once mighty Champion, who along with his mount, fell to the bloody ground, dead. Khorne was pleased.

Grimtoof was having a bad day. He watched the wolfs flee the battle and the trolls loping about aimlessly. His boyz had been surrounded by naked humies, spiky chaos humies ablnd knights. By a miracle, his boys and him had outrun them.

Rallying, the naked humies had caught up and Grimtoof found himself facing their chieftain. It had started with clash of weapons, then melee, and now, in the bloody mud, grappling.

After an agonisingly long duel, Grimtoof finally fell, the rest of his boyz slaughtered around him. Desoite this, the Orcs had won!

I'm considering getting ChatGPT plus just for the quality of imagens I can get for WFRPG.
I started a Temple of Spite campaign with a group that already went through a custom campaign, sea wardens of cothique and some of the events of Sea of Claws.
Only with this campaign (partly inspired by wanting to give a high risk memorable campaign), I decided to go all out and feed the art from splats, the Temple of Spite and some random art I found to create scenes, character portraits and NPCs.
Only issue so far is that ChatGPT was made by some PRUDES who will somehow let me generate Khaine rituals, but bug out when I want to generate the sorceresses.
My PCs went through the black tides hook so far, with them accepting Mortella's offer after they thwarthed her plans (pic related).
All human party, the noble is some hedonistic bastard who got the party exiled and almost executed at Cotique after he thought he could get the benefits from the pleasure cults, sell info to dark elf reavers for elven artifacts AND try to "predict" where the invasion would come from and try to get the glory of defending Cothique.
A scholar who GOONS to to forbidden knowledge (guess who was the other bastard who made the party flee from Cothique), so he's trying to get both the lore of Khaine, pandering to the witch elves and getting lore of Slaanesh by doing the bidding of Mortella.
The other two seem less likely to end up dying this campaign. A merchant trying to get connections and shekels everywhere, currently seeing if he can get connections in the Black Ark for stablishing slave trade commerce along his home country (Arabia), he is also the only one in decent terms with the high elves of Cothique. The last one is a secular witch hunter that is trying to get to the bottom of how belief works, with his doubts increasing each time he sees the elven gifts and the chaos gifts... while Sigmar gives jackshit.

I'm also considering plotting the PCs against each other to make a good finale for the campaign.
So far, I see it as the perfect requiem for the PCs, with them living that long due to insane luck.
I'm guessing throwing the cult of Khaine as a possible choice to follow along and pulling the merchant and secular witch hunter towards Hermizor could be an interesting plot.
The guy is basically a jobber that dreams big, so he can serve as a possible patron and making the story around building the guy up for that side of the party, leading to conflict.
Have any of you guys run campaigns like that, where the PCs must eventually plot against each other until one side wins and the other dies?

>>
>>98664080
It's just loud minorities.
I do love WFB artwork, especially the one from earlier editions, but AI is a tool at the end of the day.
I'm running a campaign and need to create NPC portraits, scenes or tiles? Feed ChatGPT with the reference I have in my head of how it should look (I also have a lot of WFB art and the books downloaded, so I can just finetune it until it gets what I mean) then just generate to create a more vivid world so the players can get into the campaign.
Neither I nor the players in my group would say AI art makes the old art obsolete, but both serve different purposes.

thought about building around the new hordes of chaos aoi, but it looks like alot of the fun stuff has been pushed into special and rare, so it feels like this might just be an infantry mob army. still, I like the idea of playing something more old school styled. Was thinking having 2 squads of 16 chaos warriors with ungors as meat shields and skirmishers, or maybe buy a box of free militia and converting them as cultists, using them to skirmish while having gors function as glorified marauders.

Though, again, the big fun monsters are now fewer in number and are now "rare" choices, which pretty much ensures I'll only have a handful of minotaurs or spawn to play with. idk, any advice?

Can’t decide between starting Tomb Kings, Wood Elves or WoC. Wood Elves are probably going to be the easiest to paint for a relative noob like me (I am waiting for refreshed skeletons either way). I think lore wise High Elves are my favorite and I have all the old 4th and 5th edition army books and gush over their lore but they seem like an army that should be held off for a second or third army once a person knows how to paint well.

it sounds like your heart belongs to the high elves, so I'll say there. they are by no means advanced, and are one of those "baby's first warhammer" armies in general. if anything they are an ideal place to start. and dont worry about your painting sucking, it'll get better with time.

Now on another topic: WFRP
I've been reading on Empire in Ruins, and I can't say that I'm sold. I've read up to leaving Altdorf for Nuln to get Ghal Maraz, the PCs have very little to do in terms of direct action, they are mostly stand-ins until NPCs demand an answer from them, or just there to react to event, like quick time events. It almost reminds of me modern D&D sometimes, things happen but none are consequencial.
I know I shall change much of it, we are playing after the Storm of Chaos in 2523 after all, but anyoen ran it 'As is' and can give insight as to how it went? I mean even the frinedly scholar have no reason to be invited in high level meetings if only to be an obvious lead for the PCs to follow.

I dont think you can really make a reasonably good melee elf list, they just cant take a hit, they are almost as much of a defensive army as dwarves are. Unpess you are literally god of positioning and go all in on fast cav.
The melee welf lists historically have been mostly dryad spam.
Also you have 3 points left that is really clunky try to get something, anything, to round it out.

more book keeping than 2nd, since the advances are done in 1% increment and there is alot of talents regarding skills, more dice rolling since all melee rolls are opposed, the setting is less explicative since it is in 2512, when nothing is happening/happened comparted to the Storm fo Chaos era, magic/prayers are more powerful if more focused, they concentrated on social standing more that in 2nd, more humour easydoes-it than in 2nd, where it is more grim and serious.

unrelated but does anyone miss when orcs were less a separate faction and more mercenaries that any evil sorceror might have as guards? Frankly the orc motive of just wanting endless war is less interesting for a faction than them being manipulated by an evil lord to do his bidding Sauron style, they also seem less goofy as the pet monsters rather than this retarded tribal clusterfuck.
>>
>>98664982
I was thinking the Tree Kin could do well as an anvil, they can't punch too well but that t6 is going to be difficult to get over for most armies. The wardancers on the other hand seem pretty good after the faq, getting 4 attacks on the charge, 5 with the one dance.
What would you suggest for ranged support? I was hoping that the captain, guard and riders could provide some decent shooting, though I know they're not nearly as numerous to make a big impact overall.
>>
>>98665284
Most of the complexity in 4th lies in the magic phase, otherwise it should be a fairly familiar game if you've played later editions. I find the use of cards for war gear, power, spells and everything else to be a bit clunky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very intuitive. You'll have to get or print the cards.
Armies tend to be smaller, characters are very powerful and will take a good chunk of your points.

No, because they're doing very different things, because I do value other merits that aren't proportions and perspective that also fall under the umbrella of "not drawing sloppily", unlike you, who have bitched your way back into the stance of the strawman you recoiled at like the jewish vermin you share your height with.

didn't Whitefang or some other rumormonger once said that the new dwarf lords we got for TOW were originally intended for aos and its new khazalids ?

>>98667553
Anon, that doesn't make sense. Models take years to be designed and produced. They couldn't have reacted to sales, whether good or bad, that quickly. You're not making sense. The Cathay models suck and I dislike them for a variety of reasons, but don't lie.

Pygmies are more normal than female dwarf models.

Finally moved the paint line forward (had to paint keeper of secrets in the meantime for an upcoming event). Earlier today I finished the lord and moved to the dragon. I hoped that this bluish-grey would look better (dark reaper from citadel). I once painted a flesh hound in this scheme, and it worked pretty well. In here it's mid but I'm not cleaning this guy. What are you working on Anons?
>>
>>98667602
Kislev coming before 2nd edition wouldn't make good business sense. Them launching with 2nd would be a massive boost.
>>
>>98667606
not him, but its aos, practically a brand new setting. Yeah, wfb dwarves locked their foids away and treated em like valuable treasures, but whos the say the whole rare female birth problem exists with aos dwarfs? Hell, according to the lore, beastmen werent even chaos aligned in the beginning of the setting. they can do whatever the hell they want, "woke" or not. I personally dont give a shit as long as the minis still look cool and it fits the vibe they are going with for the game.

The only hard numbers we have tell a different story. Here's the last 90 days of uploaded games. Considering how much shorter of a time frame people have had to get Cathay armies on the table, and them being seen as much as armies that have existed for decades, instead of being way behind at the bottom, Cathay must have sold very well in that shorter period of time. Considering they were catching up with potentially decades of other army collections.

It was a good, really nice box. I'm using WGA skeletons now, can't stand the GW models that are so huge and posed inappropriately for ranking up. Luckily there's really no shortage of third party skeleton models, or undead in general really. Contemporary GW vampires are pretty but the models just don't work in WHFB.

>>
>>98667755
I know how you feel, anon. That kit's been worth a pretty penny for a while now. You can still find some on ebay for over a hundred bucks (of the canuck variety) a box, but it's really just not economical to get them new in box. There's a glut of them on the second-hand market for prices that also aren't very economical, but they're still a hell of a lot cheaper than if they were NIB. Troll Trader has some at ~3 GBP per skeleton... which I'd say is theft, but it's significantly cheaper than what ebay has to offer. Good luck, anon.
>>
>>98667818
3dprintfags don't get it. People want specific models because they like those specific models. Of course there are alternatives. Of course you can 3d print other skeletons. Hell, you can probably get precasts of the sprues themselves in plastic if you spend enough time looking. Posts like yours are worthless, they're not even engaging with the topic at hand.

Got to play my beastwomen list again today for first time in a month. Massive blowout against Empire. Tabled him turn 4, he took 300 pts off me, 70 of which was from a unit of ambush gors that never arrived onto the table by turn 4. Got lucky and rolled Shaden wodespan and got it off turn 1 right next to his volleygun, engineer, and rifle detachment. He also was unlucky and never managed to dispell it the rest of the game.

Not completely sold on Warpgors being an anvil, but they definitely could be. The question is do beastmen need one. it might actually be better to flee against some charges instead of trying to tank them for setups. I might try that with some dogs or ungors next game.

The buffoon posted pictures of himself before.

I mean that doesn't really mean anything since cathay are (still?) The strongest army. Old world sells like ass from most LGSs I talk to. I'm guessing the chaos stuff sold better since WoC has always been a popular faction.

Outside of the horrendous female heads for the infantry. The issue with these models is how ASS the shields are. Chuck the longbeard shields on them and they'll be fine. That being said I wouldn't rank these.

The shields look fine to me, if a bit too slick. My problem is with the hero axe, why is it so square shaped. I had the same problem with Gimli's axe, except here's it worse, it's like someone took a metal sheet and just hammered down the edges to so they would be thin enough to sharpen. If I'll ever get the model I'll probably cut off the upper half of the axe blade and make it more like a simple bearded axe, or I'll chop off the axe head altogether and convert it into a rune staff or a banner. If the face is ok she might make good BSB for my wandering clan list.

Oh, and if those beardless troopers are supposed to be women they look ugly as fuck, only the hero looks like her face might be ok but I can't tell for sure at this angle.

The "Dynamic" poses, gutplates, shields and armor look like ass. The female/beardless faces look abhorrent. Very disappointed and I was not even trying to expect much from a modern AoS release. I do like Chorfs.

Why aren’t there some kind of renegade high elves. Like pirates or just, you know, more neutral elves.
>wood elves
Not complete hobos, ideally.

Asur are the rebellious elves.

I would speculate that you might find that sort of thing at some small outpost of their former empire

The poses on the troopers will probably make it hard to put them on a 20mm base and rank up so it's a pass. But I'll check out the hero once she's out.

As for the golems I used to wonder about what new units they could add for the dwarfs and I did consider them but wondered if it wouldn't be too out there and would they stand out too much from the rest of the army. At this point all the armies could use two-three new units. I guess dwarfs should get something traditionalist/runic themed or some non-slayer dual wielders, something made by the engineering guild that could something other than a new warmachine, and some slayer variant like a slayer engineer or thunderers or something.

These are the first GW dwarfs I don't actually at all. Quite the achievement.
Ironically I mind the female hero the least.

For my own sword and sorcery setting, the equivalent of orcs are a sort of proto-hominids that readily fall under the sway of sorcerers, having simpler minds than actual humans. The equivalent of trolls is an offshoot species that lives high up in snowy places and has adapted to the cold by developing a larger body size to conserve heat better.

Actually nevermind, I forgot about the nu-chorfs.
