Death to V5, paracucks and myseryporn. Long live superheroes with fangs.
Good morning I hate sorcerers>tqCorpse in the monster, because banging is bangin
>>98668851The conflict between Humanity and the Beast isn't misery porn, it's a core part of VtM.
>>98668851>>98668865can you two fuck off already and have your battle for the last word somewhere else?
>>98668873I'm not going to let Magefags dictate how VtM should be played. VtM isn't just a power fantasy game, your character is supposed to suffer, being a vampire is supposed to be miserable.
98668881>Mage seeth out of nowhere Is the mage in the room with us right now?
>>98668873No, this is jihad against Paradox and their minions. Are you one of their paws, motherfucker? We can't trust anybody here my childe...
Which Promethean Lineage is superior and why is it Unfleshed.
>>98668881>>98668900both of you've already proven there's no arguing with either, so i'll keep it brief: you're both faggots, go suck each other of behind a denny's and OD on fentanyl
Since the practice prompt was the best part of the previous thread, might as well do paradigms as well.Congratulations! You've awakened and are now a Mage. What are your beliefs about the universe, how it works, how it was and how it will be? Pick at least one paradigm, you can cram multiple ones together.
>>98668912I know there is next to no information about them but the Colossoi are my favourite. I like the idea of them coming back to their immobile progenitor to try to help it's pilgrimage. There is something very human in them trying to save it before it crumbled to nothing.
>>98668915You can't expect trying to shill V5 here and force other anons to play it without getting any pushback though.
>>98668826How do you guys do research for dark ages?I'm currently writing up a chronicle in eastern Europe and having a hard time figuring out what historical things to look into and what not to because the players probably wouldn't care too much
>>98668980The joy and pain of being a GM. All the lore you accumulate that the players will never see or care about.
>>98668988I just want to be prepared in case they care because two of my players study history
>>98668995Oh your fucked then. Have fun.
>>98668995You shouldn't be the ST then, the most knowledgeable one of you should be the ST. All you're going to do is wreck their immersion and be picked apart by them.
>>98668999They're not gonna be um ackuallying me but I just wanna impress them a bit
>>98669013Yeah but I'm the only one who stepped up to do it as the others either don't play games often or just play dnd
>>98669023Then they should be content with zero game.
>>98668980I just read a bit of everything. Although dark ages was what made me realize white wolf choosing to place their setting into the real world was a mistake.
>>98669028But I wanna play a game
>>98669031Then play a game that won't end in you being picked apart by players with superior knowledge.
>>98669015Well you need to find out what they have studied then and give them something they know nothing about. History is a big topic and most scholars of history will have specific areas they are knowledgeable about with only the outlines of the rest. If they are history nerds they will love learning about a new topic they are unfamiliar with. Ignore the shit stirrer. We already had one awful thread lets not make it two.
>TQ
>>98668472>You exist as a souless, wretched being who even reality despises and rejects. Promethean is bleak. You are alienated and wrong, broken and missing a fundamental part compared to the world. Unlike other splats you can't ever really avoid that. The world will constantly remind you that you don't belong your not a mage, vamp or woof who could ever pull together some semblance of a normal life where you fit into a place or society.Broadly correct, BUT there is the Magnum Opus, which is an unambiguous upgrade and happy ending (or at least satisfying closure) for your personal story. It's not easy by any means, but if you persevere enough you'll get there.>And to keep it on topic Proethean is not a setting where you can really push it to the heros with fangs/fur.Also broadly correct BUT it's entirely possible to be a protector/vigilante and make it work. In fact two Roles from different Refinements are about protecting something or someone, and avenging wrongs, respectively.>The systems in place really push it towards the great work and the horror of alienation from the world and self. It's very instrospective indeed, like you said. I think it's part of what makes it so fascinating. I do agree the skill floor to play it satisfactorily is higher than other splats though.
>>98668944The universe is full of bad women who can be rehabilitated with the power of dick (my dick specifically) and I was molded by the rapegods to rape until they've been purified into goodness. They will call me the Rapeman, and I will turn the world into a Utopia. This is all because of the temptations of one anti-rapist who allowed the world to turn back towards it's default villainous state. The manga is surprisingly a good read
>>98669138World's most sane Verbena.
>>98669030Care to elaborate? I also think it's a mistake but I'm curious
>>98669138Are you going to rape a cat burglar until she goes back to school and gets a real job?I tried to find that video but I think it's gone for good
Is this achievable natty in wod?
>>98669176I Mean you can easily flavor thus as a variant of fair Glabro at least a high appearance Glabro.
>>98669105NTA but one thing that irked me about PTC was how unfairly they are treated by reality.Vampires get to eat people, Arisen and Bound are horrific violations of the boundary between life and death driven by eldritch abominations, Beasts are literally soulless monstrosities, and yet reality does not reject any of them. But what also irks me is the New Dawn/Magnum Opus and how it’s treated as a fix to all their problems.Congrats, you’ve gone from a corpse with superpowers to a random person with no superpowers and also no life, and also you are now vulnerable to the Embrace or Gentry. Also, who’s saying that you’re just accepted by society now?Hell, it’d be compelling if a Promethean was still rejected by society because they’re still technically an inhuman abomination, just one that’s gotten better at faking being human
>>98669138>>98669152>>98669169It's been done.
Well the V6 devs basically said that hubris caused the fall SI in this video: https://youtu.be/N2MG-4hxCRw?is=OlpTIX1M8FnWeZYf (relevant time at 36:50)So going after all the elders gathered by Beckoning is the most hubris action the SI could do. It sure beats just being smothered by AI slop.
>>98669282We have the benefit of in-game knowledge. The SI couldn't reasonably be expected to know how much stronger an elder is than a "normal" vampire
>>98669158Dark Ages takes place in the middle ages. Each few years a mega happening takes place in the middle ages with an invasion or a war. Vampires however live hundred of years, you don't even need an elder, a neonate can easily live of dozens of years. During all this time you're enticing to keep the status quo of changing shit in the plot that has nothing to do with things that matter to your campaign, your plot, or your story. Because they're using the real world is a total clusterfuck to change real world history. You're railroading the entire worldbuilding. And this is not counting that the game demands a large amount of research to run properly, very satisfying once you do. But because you already put work into it, is a stupid idea needing to change everything in the next session when suddenly yo go from dark ages to renaissance or when your vampires hup up in another region of europe. All of this on top of keeping track of current metaplot that is going to always exist even if you homebrew from scratch.A serious worldbuilder and storyteller will realize running shit in WoD is self-sabotaging from the very beginning. The best you can do is ditch it slowly as you do your own thing.
>>98669282>Neonates (who you're forced to play in this shit edition) are so powerless they never managed to defeat or fight the SI>The actual heroes of the stories are once again NPCs the player never controls, and elders on top of that, making them the saviors of the vampires despite being presented by the shitty political developers like the evil guys alwaysWow you couldn't make something so fucking awful even if you intended. They're special on how self-deating and contradictory everything they do is.
>>98669337>The SI couldn't reasonably be expected to know how much stronger an elder is than a "normal" vampireWhy not? The vampires aren't exactly hiding the fact that elders are basically eldritch monstrosities and the SI have captured vampires for interrogation.
>>98669337yeah them thinking striking all the elders by gathered the Beckoning is "Fall of Vienna 2: Desert Fury" would be in for a rude awaking.
>>98669366>Why not? The vampires aren't exactly hiding the fact that elders are basically eldritch monstrosities and the SI have captured vampires for interrogation.Well the SI would still underestimate them or think all of it was vampire propaganda because of Metaplot I guess.
Why did God make vampires so bananas overpowered if they’re actively harmful to the rest of creation
>>98669355This is part of why a few threads ago I brought up the idea of a sandbox timeline extending into the future so you can really go full alt history with it and take advantage of the numerous options for immortality presented or, for werewolves, pull a Pendragon and play as your progeny. It truly does feel held back by the real world in several ways
>>98669366>Why not?How else is the shill going to excuse shit writing? The SI went from invencible plot device to defeated because they plot say so.
>TQI want to say Ash Path because of the mastery over the Shroud. But the correct answer is "rituals", that's where you find much good stuff, no matter of how many paths your necromancer learns after the Sepulchre Path.
>>98668980>>98669015One thing our ST did when one of our players tried "altering" history by nudging his favored historical faction one way was introducing the Technocracy.Nothing real fancy, just giving the opposing side Bombards, several centuries before they were invented. The moment the player cottoned onto what was going on, he abandoned any plans of making the fourth reich and just started hedging his bets to make the future of today work better for his interests.
>>98669355>>98669393You can also introduce conflict around status quo vs alt history. All good time travel involves massaging the details while the broad brush strokes remain the same.
>>98669386God didn't make them overpowered, Lilith did by teaching Caine Disciplines.
>>98669409The thing is, this was still via exploiting aspects of Caine’s curse.
>>98669387That's a neat idea actually, and versatile. But everything really is better than dealing with another layer of "here this set of bullshit and you can't change it or touch it".
>>98669386He only gave Caine immortality and the angels gave him the other shitYou could go with the theory that Caine built up that power over time and it transferred to his progeny Or that Caine was a cursed mage
>>98669440I think the closest thing to that is the Pendragon Grand Campaign but I never read up on pendragon so I wouldn't know
>>98669387>play a werewolf >have downtime orgies>have a dozen bastards>get killed>play your werewolf child with three or four dots in the Kindred background to represent your siblings
Okay, question. If I'm a vampire who has access to a multitude of people and has convinced them that they need to "donate" blood regularly, can I bag this blood and save it for later? Or will that not be good enough and I have to drink it straight from their necks?
>>98669484Vitae expires after a while. However, if you can find a Settite and you're willing to give him a cut, there's a ritual called Sanguineous Phial that allows them to store blood in jars so it magically never goes bad until you reopen them.
>>98669484In V20, yes, although preserved blood is less nutritious than even animal blood. In V5, yes, and there's a predator archetype for it. I have no idea about other editions. Presumably in Requiem you can get away with it until your Blood Potency is high enough that animal blood is worthless.
>>98669055Too bad H5 is such dogshit, some of the art is pretty good.
>>98668520Also consider that as a Ventrue, you have the disciplines required to compel or charm other vampires into teaching you out of clans. So justifying some animalism or really any common discipline isn't hard at all.
>>98668826>What is your favorite flavor of Necromancy and why?Ash Path. Because interacting with the Shadowlands in more interesting that doing unpleasant things to ghosts or messing with corpses. >>98668915I second this anon.
>>98669042Shit Stirrer's been back for at least three threads now. I'm also pretty sure he mostly replies to himself nowadays, but you can never be sure what with the removal of poster count.
>>98669512I think V5's the only edition that required purchase of a merit to drink out of bags or from cadavers.
>>98669282I don't care because none of the V5 shit even happened at my table. So even if they're just undoing it, all their Nu-Lore is irrelevant to my table since it's still predicated on V5's shit happening.
>>98669499>>98669512Oooh... okay. I was going to learn Animalism and Vigor from a Nosferatu as mentioned by >>98669521 but didn't want to burn any bridges, so I figured that having the tenants required to "donate" blood and shipping the blood that doesn't fit his tastes out to the Everglades for some mosquito-mouth Nosferatu to suck down would be just fine. So a Settite would also get their cut of the blood in order to store it where it won't go bad during transit or storage, hmm? Interesting. I'll have to look more into Settites and what they do.
You're telling me there's a whole changing breed called niggas? How did whitewolf get away with this?
>>98669520The character portraits in V5 and W5 are dogshit, but almost everything else is amazing
>>98669574Wait till you hear what they're all about
>>98669200I could have sworn there were weretigers in owod
>>98669642Yeah the Kahn or something similar. It's just version of fair glabo.
>>98669642More like Were-Big Cats, the Bastet. The whole Breed are basically self-important assholes, though.
>>98669176Just be a Life mage bro
>>98669499That reminds me actually.I have this one vampire whose refusal to feed on people is actively exploited by the Camarilla to keep him in service. They provide bags prepared in a way he doesn’t know how to do.Meaning he is their surprisingly strong lackey if he wants to stave off his hunger.
>>98670003Does he not know how to raid a blood bank?
>>98670071You don't raid a blood bank, you enthrall the guy at the blood bank responsible for disposing of expired and rejected blood and have him divert to you blood that is supposed to be destroyed.
>>98668861>GorabitchNobody tell him where the Salubri antitribu are getting their visions from in V5
>>98670071Yes. He tried.Unfortunately, he does not have the required skills to drink “Expired” vitae.
>>98668944>Aliens makes us who we areI’m Superman!
>>98670096Only works if the Ventrue syndicate haven't already added him and the entire command chain to their thrall. You're better off raiding it and hoping they don't guess it was you.>>98670111afaik vitae doesn't have an explicit shelf life, at least not in V20. You can drink old blood that isn't rotten, it just won't taste nice. The better preserved, the more vitae you get.
>>98669465as gaia intendedamen
Any of you tried The World Below? I don't think I've ever even seen a thread about it on /tg/
>>98668890Sorry. I used my Mind sphere to leave a permenent impression on that guy after I bet him at checkers in elementary and he has been like that since.
>>98670426"The traditions are noble fighters for the soul of humanity, the average mystic is nothing like the pictures of insane reality deviants the technocracy paints!"meanwhile the humble average mage:
>>98670438>implying that technocrats are universally paragons of virtue who never use their powers for petty or spiteful reasons
>>98668944>We are not Men!We are Devo!
>>98669726>The whole Breed are basically self-important assholes, though. To be fair, in World of Darkness, who the fuck isn't?
>>98669386>overpoweredAnon, everything sputh of Caine gets no-diffed by True Faith. Vampired also have quite a few weaknesses that are very exploitable. It was the technocrats that killed Ravnos with nukes and orbital lazers, and they wouldn't have needed the nukes if a retard cathayan didn't accidentally block the satelite Line of Sight with a storm while getting completely dunked on by said antedeluvian.
>>98670480>who the fuck isn't?The rare designated "Good Guy" factions(Like Mummies) that were allowed to be white in this sea of greys and darker greys we call a setting. They are few and far between.
>>98670537Who except mummies are NOBLEBRIGHT GIGACHADS in owod?
>>98670183>at least not in V20.Unexpected buff. In revised and before, blood would last an hour without preservation as a blood bag or tremere blood skittles.
>>98670547The salubri were thst breifly before the wod writers decided they saulot evil for some reason, which they then retconned, unretconned, retconned again, etc, until the clan became a fucking mess. The Croatan were, but they're all dead now.
>>98670583Good, fuck croatia.
>>98670459No, those technocrats quickly get sent for another round in Room 101, before being reminded that there are already desognated prisoners and reality deviants for purpose when a technocrat wants to let off steam on something. In a pinch, grab one of the 20 ananasi currently digging through the walls of your lab, there's no shortage of them.
>>98670530>It was the technocrats that killed Ravnos with nukes and orbital lazers, and they wouldn't have needed the nukes if a retard cathayan didn't accidentally block the satelite Line of Sight with a storm while getting completely dunked on by said antedeluvian.Funnily enough according to the Nagah the Technocracy damn near fumbled everything by nuking the Kuei-Jin and derailing things.>>98670583Even with Saulot's bullshit his clan itself has been portrayed as mostly alright, if smug dicks sometimes.
>>98670659what were the Kuei-jin even doing in that fight?
>>98670681They were ones literally fighting [Ravnos], and actually stopping him in his tracks.
>>98670681The actual fight. Nobody else was doing anything useful.
>>98670681They created the hurricane that prevented the satellite from firing right away.
Which version of Princess would be best for a Miraculous Ladybug themed campaign?
>>98670583When was it written that Saulot basically abandoned Golconda?
>>98670833If you want to play it straight and mostly ignore the World of Darkness beyond mechanics, Crystal. If you want the nakama to have to seriously think about whether they're going to slot Hawkmoth, Dream or Vocation.
>>98670725Which is to say they were the ones emptying his gas tank so he couldn't do shenanigans like deciding the sun satellites don't exist anymore.
>>98670681Aura farming by pulling moves like condensing an entire hurricane into a spear and throwing it at Zapp (who countered with an imaginary shield).>>98670836Transylvania Chronicles are all about Saulot being revealed as a dick IIRC. I've also heard they're railroady as all fuck.
Wholesome but inaccurate greentext time:>little orphan boy dies because of leaky propane>he ends up in the Umbra>he looks for his parents, unaware his mom was a werewolf and his father became a wraith>a Shadow sees its chance and pretends to be his friend>wolf mom, now in the Summer Country, feels her mother instinct tingling and rushes out>the Shadow nearly gets what it wants before wraith dad intervenes, hard>more Shadows appear, but so does wolf mom. couple fight them off, then realize their son is dead>they share a tearjerking moment before wolf mom takes son back with her (if the other garou don't want him in their heaven they'll answer to her), while dad is content that his family has a nice afterlife>the end
>>98670183Well it does now
>>98670833You would probably be better off using Scion or something like M&M.
>>98668944A synthesis of "Everything is Chaos", "Consciousness is the Only True Reality", and "Transcend Your Limits".Reality is inherently meaningless and formless. It is our perception of it that gives it shape, form, solidity, and so forth. Our interpretation of those properties and their interplay informs the laws that govern reality's workings. From those laws we create a story, and from that story we derive the meaning, which shapes our beliefs. That same perception, however, also places the limits on what is and isn't possible in our "reality".By transcending our progressively greater limits, we grow in our ability to comprehend and encompass the infinite Creation.Until we ourselves become an infinity, attaining true godhood and becoming Creators of our own world.tl;dr: Solipsistic Diet Gnosticismt. >>98669362Well to be fair apparently V6 actually allow you to straight up create a elder character. So I guess you don't need to grind as a neophyte...
