Firebats for Terrans
Infested Marines for Zerg
Dark Templar for Protoss

I think these have all been confirmed as coming, but I want them sooner rather than later.
>>
>>98692752
TQ: Ghosts so my dad will quit asking about them (personally I want Vultures as soon as possible), Lurkers, and maybe Archons. This is deliberately avoiding the announced/planned road map stuff since most of that makes sense as it is (a caster wave, a flier wave, etc.). I'd love more gimmicky drop-in structures like the Pylon. I'm hoping there's a consistent growth of terrain with each wave going forward.

Well I was possessed by a demon this weekend and have done the devils work: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cbcVod_79CbNLjqTbaSrLVpyOymHVq2K?usp=drive_link

This is a complete build for a Warcraft TMG using the Starcraft TMG rules with a few main rule changes to smooth it out a bit, it is still best to have a copy of the Starcraft main rules around because this is very much a rough draft.

>Why did you make the generic heroes WoW Classes?

Im going for a Starcraft 1 style color scheme, so the marines are mostly dark metal with only a couple selective white parts, Medics being the painful exception.
That said, since im going a bit grimy with wear and tear, I'm not suffering that much, basically slapping some thick Glacier blue over the metal base coat without perfect coverage, and stippling some actual white on the parts that catch more light, and I'm gonna paint Raynor green because everybody knows that Terran and Protoss heroes are green.
>>
>>98709505
>and I'm gonna paint Raynor green
I was actually thinking of doing that myself since I might wind up with two of him since another friend wants the zerg half of the box apart from one I already split one with. Be neat to paint one version of him SC2 style and another in the classic version

>>
>>98709768
look, that's what i've been told a week ago when they came to the lgs and guy was just dropping spoilers since he saw my Taldarim painted protoss. Should they be believed? Idk, he did use both Blood Hunters and Ascendant instead of their Daelaam names so I didn't even try making a guess which one would be his/faction unique unit and not like Taldarims aren't just reskins that have all ass to do with actually owning any unit as their origin. And those were those I did remember more accurately with buffs at 5 lost supply being either Critical Hits or Precision at the downside of Taldarim faction card not giving you Psionic Energy. Minor ones were High Templars/Tassadar having psionic storm on template, and absolute territary one being that Fenix starts as infantry and after dying can redeploy as a Dragoon

Will we get the Infestor? I wonder how he'd work in the game or if it's the sort of unit that'd be too difficult to balance on the tabletop?
>>
>>98711031
Man, I wanted to like those guys in the game but I always found them kind of niche. A lot of the new zerg units/mechanics felt like that I had to babysit them in order to use their abilities at the right moment, forcing a lot more micromanagement. It wasn't just zerg rushes. Hell, a lot of times you'd have to go back to the hive if your recently dead zerglings respawned (thank goodness you could set rally points for that).

Terrans and to a large extent the Protoss didn't seem to suffer as much from that. Maybe it's just me. Maybe also it's because it's been ages since I played and my memory is shite. It felt like the Zerg were much squishier. More emphasis on surprising from the ground, or unexpected movements on the battlefield. A lot of that depends on which upgrades you choose. Zergings with jump, the ability to move when burrowed.

I don't know, maybe I'm overstating things. Maybe I'm just full of shite.

IIRC the deployment is just treating the pylon as an entry edge.
Since there is no "deployment" phase, just moving the unit from that edge and into the game.

Little bit of drybrushing sure goes a long way to making these guys look good- can't decide if I should darken the marauders tho or stick with their primer as the base and go lighter
>>
Do you guys use the transparent plastic bits as-is or do you paint them? How do you paint the lenses and shooting effects?
>>
>>98714504
Varnish and contrast paint if i want tint
varnish, white/grey primer if I want full recoloration and don't mind transparency loss
>>
>>98714697
Varnish first then contrast? I'm guessing varnish helps it stick without covering it up.
>>
>>98714876
if you want to tint and aren't shifting too far on the hue then yes, so it will act like a transparent primer so it sticks to it, if you go too far you kinda have to do normal primer into the color that you want

>I don't know, maybe I'm overstating things. Maybe I'm just full of shite.
Nah. StarCraft 2 was a good rts, even great, but the apm creep exploded as competency grew. A lot of the new units were made just to give pros something to do; chronoboosting, injects, spellcasters, old units given new abilities, etc. The idea was to give players options, but the reality was why try to micromanage a ton of shit when marines, zerglings, and stalkers are just good enough? If you're opponent is being clever, just cross the map and punch him in the face.

The zerg may also feel especially egregious in that regard due to how Kerrigan was implemented as always there, central to nearly every mission. Micromanaging was there right from the start. Mind you it was still a better experience than the fucking Terran campaign having rushed missions due to a forced timer bs. Get to the artifact finish line before Kerrigan! Keep relocating your base away from the giant wall of fire! Don't let the Tard'darim cap all the cocaine geysers! Well shit the floor is lava again! Gotta outmine the Dominion to pay Matt's whore girlfriend! Chase that train!

Fucking hell, I don't know what they were thinking. Will the tabletop recapture that magic with a chess style timer?

>>
>>98692986
Eh, I think the problem with SC2 specifically for the terrans is not the redesigns themselves, but the fact that their proportions end up looking fucked when seen from any angle but top-down. The Thor and Marauder in particular are top heavy to the point they look cartoonish compared to not only SC1 units but SC2 versions of SC1 units like the Goliath and Marine which are more reasonably shaped.

Actually I didnt go for anything, this is the Terran part of the All-in pledge of the crowdfunding campaign. I just wanted to get a starting point ready without thinking.
Now that I know how the game and list-building work, basically my plan will be to get one of every new thing that releases and a lot of stuff will still be cut from the lists because you can't fit that many things in a 2000 mineral list but at least I'll have options to keep the games fresh.
That said I may still get two copies of units that I particularily like, Siege tank for example at least to be able to build both versions.

>>98725325

>>
>>98721439
>>98716202
The UED, according to Archon, will allow players to bring a mix of Zerg and Terran units in one army. I plan to wait for that sort of army list to come out before I try and make an Amon-aligned force.
>>
>>98726889
I would've thought they'd have more advanced equipment, but the Umojan Protectorate probably covers that base.
>>
>>98726889
The UED will (hopefully) have Duran as a model as well so that would actually a pretty kino way of representing a force loyal to Amon.
>>
>>98726935
It kinda sucks though that the only UED in-game hero is a non-UED double agent. I suppose the UED will just be a faction card and probably valkyries, but its tough to justify bringing a 100% AA unit that cant even target ground. But including Zerg in the list... does that mean I have to paint my Zerg white too?
>>
>>98727001
Duran and Stukov seem like a given imo for a UED release. This + a faction card and an army list that lets you bring Zerg is more than enough to make them "feel" right and play like the UED should.
>>
>>98727041
But Stukov is gonna be infested Stukov from SC2, either as Kerrigan swarm or as his own infested terran faction and not the human Stukov from the UED. DuGalle would be Battlecruiser which Archon already said they won't do because of the scale.

Reapers are literally my fav unit in all of Starcraft so we NEED those.
Swarm Host is a unit I'd love to get on the table just because it's such an odd unit.

Reapers were cool in the mission they were introduced for in WoL, and arguably better than Hellions in their own mission too.
I wish we had reasons to use them in the rest of the campaign, but that's like half the units of the roster anyway.
Goliaths, Diamonbacks, Hellions, Wraiths and Thors were complete memes.

I think we will get them but with very nerfed infested abilities

- I think it will support infested terrans healing/spawing more

- The infest part will be meh: Roll to infest a unit (there will be limits on what can you infest), if you succed you can force it to do a move or shoot at a friendly

Yeah, SCII's story was mid, but it wasn't insultingly bad. Particularly when you look at the way other IPs rape their legacy characters for the shittiest conceived sequels.
Hell, Starcraft II isn't even the worst storyline in-house when you look at the abomination WoW has turned into with Sylvanas becoming one of the most insufferable cunts in video game history.

Raynor saving Mengsk because Zergriggan said >UED bad because of the 260 year old stories from Earth
I don't think Raynor would become an UED lover, but saving Mengsk and helping the Zerg? that's quite the stretch.
But the thing about RTS campaigns is that you need to fight against all factions and several combinations of them, so in the end the whole side switching and spontaneous alliegances are pretty much a plot requirement, though I think SC2 actually resolved it better by including multiple subfactions, while in SC1 it was the game limited cast of characters doing the weird side-switching dance.

Chances of Archon releasing the more niche or obscure faction units, like the Nerazim Centurion and Annihilator? Trying to build Zeratul's Warband from Brood War and SC2 but not sure if I should build up my Zealots and Immortal and just paint them as Dark Templar (purples/blues for armour and green energy) or hold off and see if we eventually get them as actual units with custom models.
>>
>>98766523
They hated him because he told them the truth
>>
>>98770431
I'd say likely, but definitely not any time soon. Those are perfect units to pad out future waves when the obvious unit choices begin to dry up, so paint your Protoss now however you want, you've likely years to wait.
Also, your plan is wrong. Zeratul's Warband wasn't all Nerazim. Even all the way back in the mission Dark Origin, which is arguably when the player first gains control of Zeratul and his boys on their hunt for answers, his advisor is a High Templar and he starts the mission with Khalai Dragoons. Even in SC2, he leads a force of Nerazim and Khalai, able to build an army of Zealots, Stalkers, Dark Templar, Immortals and so on.
So painting up the current Protoss range in the colours they are meant to be (Zealots as Khalai and Stalkers as Nerazim for example) and taking Zeratul as your hero unit would be a 100% acceptable and fluffly way of playing Zery and his followers.

How are the Protoss? Very curious about them
>>
>>98763112
We're talking about two mainline story beats from the same developer/creator though.
>>
>>98774006
Very tanky and super mobile. Also the impact hits felt petty stong in a small game.
>>
>>98774006
NTA but very hard to play right, however if you do they are insanely rewarding. Unmatched mobility, tanky as fuck and able to react to almost anything the enemy can throw at them. Insanely cool army to play.

Raynor n marauders done.
Botched his helmet a lil but I am happy with the end result as I just paint to tabletop quality.
Next is building n painting all my protoss.
>>
>>98775763
I would just dab your brush in ipa and strip the paint off the helmet cause that shit looks like ass dude. Ain't nothing wrong with leaving the helmet unpainted if you can't do it right bro, just put a wash or something on it and call it a day

Why would they make a StarCraft table top game before Warcraft? Anyways which faction has the bigger future? I have no ties with StarCraft so everything looks weird to me desu.
>>
>>98777338
The concept of Warcraft as a strategy game died like 20 years ago.
>>
>>98777338
They've hinted (all but confirmed) that they're going to make a Warcraft game like Starcraft eventually. Would will be kino tbhondesu

Zeratul is pretty powerful, you can only really target him if you're within 4 inches since there's very little detection in the game currently and no one seems to bother with it right now. Honestly, he just seems straight up better than Artanis, although if he does get attacked he'll die fairly quickly. Only 5 wounds and Evade 5/4 doesn't go very far.

Which army is harder to get into Protoss or Terrans?
>>
>>98778088
Terrans. Protoss are so insanely expensive you can get a 1000 point list with 13 models.
x3 Zealots
x3 Zealots
x4 Adepts
x1 Immortal
Sprinkle in some upgrades
You've a 1000pt list
>>
>>98778119
oh and x2 Sentries
>>
I'm buying this shit and playing both the rts games just for the Protoss adepts. Sex with cute protoss adept.

If I had to choose a Starcraft character to have sex with, I'd choose Valerian in a heartbeat

It would be hard not to make it WoW/HoTS miniatures game.
Considering how lethal SC already one can imagine what Pyroblast would be in Warcraft.

I would have missionary position, tongue kissing, eyes open sex with the fattest, greasiest, smelliest Argentinian hog-foid if it meant we get a Warcraft game with rules and models as good as Starcraft

If they made a Warcraft game, what would the factions be? Alliance and Horde, or would they go more in-depths? Alliance, Horde, Scourge, Burning Legion and Night Elves as playable factions on the tabletop, for example.
>>
>>98779050
IMO Horde Alliance, Scourge, Burning Legion with racial subfaction (although i would like also see non-playable factions also being included, like Scarlets or Dark Horde)
>>
>>98779050
Start with Horde and Alliance, Scourge (or Burning Legion) and Night elves released around 3 to 4 years after Wave 1
>>
>>98779050
It'd be awesome to see the WC3 races and heroes, but it would be even better to see all of the neutral mobs and stuff.
>>
>>98777338
Starcraft was always the bigger game than Warcraft (now WoW, Warcraft), and besides that the mass military combat just works better for Starcraft than Warcraft, which was more about herohammer with the unit cap at 100.
>>
>>98777338
Starcraft is simply better and more kino in every way.

Zerg - Ravasaur
Protoss - Sentinel
Terran - Reapers
>>
>>98775763
Everything else is fine but the fake skull mask is actually dogshit, at least from this angle. Get rid of it.
>>
To those who have built/painted their protoss army:
How much sub assembly did the army require?
Ive built stalkers and im building my extra box of adepts before i build my founders box and it seems to me that a small amount of sub asssembly painting is required. Mostly adept backpacks and stalker shields, but not clue about the rest of the range.
>>
>>98780095
Christ I'm amazed how many of you bitches want primal zerg and reapers
>>
>>98777368
With WoW Forever, the new Warcraft 3 campaign and the promise of new, future Warcraft releases by Blizzard, Archon would be stupid not to do something. Just leaving money on the table
>>
>>98727582
Negative, hes a ghost. Similar to other portrait only units, hes available in the standard editor, but exists when you use StarForge or any other enhanced editor.
>>
>>98780123
Sub assembled my Adepts, Stalkers and Immortal. Adept backpacks and cannons, Stalker arm-shield-thing and Immortal left the arms off until everything was fully painted
>>
>>98780095
>Ravasaur
Niche but based choice, not bad not bad
>>
>>98778127
Nta but that looks like a hella fun list
>>
>>98782253
Building the adepts and its the complete opposite of the terrans, already hating it, especially when im building 2 squads of adepts.
Also im still debating whether to try and keep the clear parts as is or paint over but if I paint over im also gonna have to do the adepts holograms and the pylon to keep the army uniform.
>>
>>98783220
the hologram and pylon at least take to drybrushing very well since they're all hard angles
>>
>>98783220
>Also im still debating whether to try and keep the clear parts as is or paint over
I'm painting my Adepts up as Purifiers so I've at least not got this to worry abput

2nd game with an Immortal on 1k and he rapes, Artanis beheads kerrigan, Khalai like always is pretty bonkers on double activation. Next week gonna play a 2k game against terrans
>>
>>98785069
He's probably fairer at 2k, which seems to be the vibe alot of the stuff in the game's design has currently.
Which is the only real drawback I see in the game so far- that people are buying the starter sets to try out the game, and if they get their asses run over by some of the more whack abilities there they might not bother trying the game as it was intended to be played.
>>
>>98785265
from what ive also noticed marines are super hard to play at that size as 36x36 means a lot of shit is at you turn 2 and if you greed the supply and movement you might have to be shooting with less than planned after impacts with evades on top. Lowk expecting nerfs to protoss soon, even if I'm excited for Tassadar
>>
>>98785265
>>98785301
Also people need to learn at the lgs and stop running their units to center when there are buff speed (2) zealots with leg enhancement closeby because that's just asking for getting charged at that map size
>>
>>98785301
Nigga's not playing Raynor's Raiders with Dropship and Proxy Barracks. What a retard!
>>
>>98785801
for some reason people dismiss the fucking drone and I don't wanna be rude when 2 other people are playing with backseating and then they get cornered and die
>>
>>98785801
RR doesn't really seem like the faction to run at 1k- Armed Forces seems to matter more because you REALLY want to hit first in the first assault phase and get your damage in, so going first when you need it seems essential.
>>
>>98785801
>>98785810
Raynors Raiders
Proxy Barracks
Dropship
Point Defence Drone
Medics
This is the best way to play Terrans
>>
Just realised the Point Defence Drone is re-deployed every turn. I've been playing it as a deploy once per game unit. Holy shit, that's a game changer.
>>
>>98785810
Drone is pretty much useless in tvz tho- hence why a lot of people don't make much of it since the games most people play are the two halves of the starter set more than likely.
>>
So next wave are going to be new heroes?
Alarak for Protoss
Nova for Terran
Zagara/Abba for Zergs
>>
I dunno if I wanna make artanis pre or post zerstul death.
Post death with his wrist blade is cooler but I own promo zeratul
>>
>>98789951
We know what we're getting in Wave 3.
Tassadar and High Templar
Nova and Raven
Zagara and Defiler
>>
>>98790078
I wonder if zagara's faction will reduce supply for a unit of max size zerg considering all her gameplay styles in coop commander n hots are horde of zerg based.
Maybe give a unit of zergling the explode on death rule considering banelings dont have models
>>
>>98790148
She'll likely have a load of Respawn abilities on her faction card
>>
>>98790148
imo her special zergling will be effectively -1 supply compared to vanilla max stack. Probably more healing and rez compared to normal queens
>>
>>98789390
Blocking two dice from a Hydra shot is still pretty good tho.
