What purpose would they serve in a fantasy setting outside of looking very neat? Personally I think they'd fit best in a victorian style setting where even in cities & estates people must be ready to fight, so having a small, elite army who double as housekeepers would be useful. They probably wouldn't stray far from their lord/lady, so one in an adventuring party would be rare.
When a knight went to war, then he also needed to provide regular foot soldiers. Often times, these were the knight's personal retainers: his cook, his smith, his servant. When battle starts, they put the armor on their lord provided for them, took a basic pike or basic crossbow, and in some way contributed to the effort. Or at least guarded the camp.Something like. As in if it used to have a Stat 7 it is now a 3 or it if was a 3 a now a 7. Great for dealing with high stat models but could backfire if used in some mid stat model.Some basic things like putting magical barriers, blocking off sections of the table along with stuff like opening and closing doors from a distance. Self buffing is also a thing such as allowing models to jump over buildings. Making the ground explosive is a form of direct attack so I tend to avoid it.currently changing houses so I kind of stop working it till I finish the house construction, should resume next month if everything goes well
