been playing gomoku against some browser AI during meetings and it's genuinely ruining me. like 30 moves in on a 15x15 and i'm dead. apparently it runs an actual engine (some rapfi neural net thing) in a web worker which is kinda neat. anyway what do you actually do against a strong five-in-a-row opener, is there an openings book equivalent or is black just supposed to win
>>98713081>strongIt's spent four turns making a strong presence in the middle of nowhere. You just did even worse, because your tiles share liberties so your formation is even weaker. Take the corners instead. Try D4, D12, C8, and something around H to K 13, depending how daring you're feeling. A single stone is enough to give you a victory in a future race. You need to set yourself up for victory in multiple sides of the board. Overcommiting is the biggest mistake, specially at the beginning.Try to find the most advantageous move every turn. Placing a second stone right next to the first is never the best opening.
