40k is feeling incredibly bland and safe and just fraudulent to me. It's supposed to be a wargame set in the grimdarkness of the future, but the models never reflect that, the models are always so safe and sterile, it's like they're "dark" only in the corporate, safe sense, dark enough to still be profitable and have mass market appeal
