TQ: should mtg have more scifi themes like eoe and kamigawa?
>>
>>98725608
She doesn't really cause weird interactions herself she just goes off nuclear if she's ever given the option to hit more than once.

The most complex one I had was genji glove on Godo, Bandit Warlord while I kept making copies of him with helm of the host. I just kept making him and his copies attack on different phases to keep adding on combat phases while using slayer's stronghold to give something vigilance.

Although my personal favorite card in the deck is Cloud, Midgar Mercenary. Put something good on him like Buster Blade or Reaver Cleaver or Sword of the animist and he'll just flood your board with shit. Getting reaver cleaver on cloud with aggravated assault and a way for him to get his damage through is so free and easy.
>>
what do you think /edhg/
>>
>>98725775
Nice
>>
>>98725776
Seems pretty useful to me
>>
>>98725780
It is kinda nice. I don't usually play straight forward strong decks. This is new for me.
>>
>>98725776
People won't admit it but Reality Fracture has a lot of solid edh pickups, I personally will be taking at least 7 cards from this set which is out of the ordinary
>>
Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
>>
>>98725763
More Sci-fi like Mirrodin, Esper, or Thran/Urza/Mishra type shit. Kamigawa's sci-fi cyberpunk neoTokyo shit is a hard no, EoE is on the wrong side of borderline. They're not terrible aesthetics, they just don't belong generally. Those two could work if they had better art direction but art direction right now dogshit.
>>
>>98725776
Soul shatters instant speed still makes up for it only hitting highest CMC, but I think artifact and equipment decks will love this. That said nothing good becomes a giga staple these days unless it's super early card draw or mana.
>>
>>98725776
People don't run Curtains' Call and that's instant speed and hits 2 things unconditionally.

Need a cut for Mask of Memory and Yue, the Moon Spirit. Hexgold Halberd will likely be cut for Kyoshi Battle Fan (it creates an ally that can be Descendants' Furied into Yue, the Moon Spirit.

Thinking out
>Bident of Thassa for Mask of Memory
but the Moon Spirit is a bit trickier. Her inclusion might also make Hero's Blade a little more desirable. And no idea what I would cut for that either. Some help would be appreciated.
>>
>>98725797
People are hating it? I suppose thats irrelevant here because anons hate everything
>>
>>98725856
At the cost of being a sorcery speed artifact lich's relic hits 3 targets unconditionally, can hit walkers too, and can also be a nice buff if your deck happens to like dealing combat amage
>>
>>98725885
The story was a sticking point but the set does have good cards, nothing truly gamebreaking like ikoria and tbd, but still solid
>>
>>98725885
People are hating on "Oops all Jace" and the Planar Chaos bit being kind of half-assed (and mostly restricted to uncommon legendaries)
>>
>>98725891
Yea but it's specifically one per player. 3 mana sorcery speed removal is way worse overall, though it is flicker-able.
>>
>>98725903
The idea of Emrakul just straight of consuming the Echoverse was at least a cool idea
>>
>>98725913
I cant remember a time when i needed to kill two creatures from a single opponent, but the need to kill one creature from each opponent comes up constantly
>>
>>98725823
Soul Shatter is definitely the closest point of comparison. (and soul shatter is pretty good.)
>>98725913
>though it is flicker-able
I'd missed that, add it to the list of decks I think it's optimal in
>>
>>98725776
in my braids deck it kills 3 creatures and draws 2-3 cards
pretty good

Just built pic rel, seems like a decently strong bracket 2, or maybe a low power bracket 3. I’ve just started going to a new LGS, and I was curious if Blood Moon is too salty to run with a new pod?

similar goes for kraven, who also gets 3 counters, inb4 ubslop inb4 marvelslop inb4 dothingdrawcardslop

Going in my mono black Vincent deck
>>
>game 1 of the night
>I (player A) sac selfless spirit to trigger some effects and give my shit indestructible
>go to combat, player B (new-ish player, picked up the game a month ago) puts up blockers assuming we'll trade
>remind him ive got indes until EoT, allow him to rewind, he takes it back and lets me swing face

>game 2
>player C has a Sheoldred Apocalypse that I tried to Beast Within on player B's turn
>C saved it with Flawless Maneuver
>B goes to combat, swings a big trampler at C thinking he won't block
>blocks with Sheoldred
>B asking why they didnt trade
>only reminded of Flawless after his trampler went to GY
>C did not allow a take back this time

Would you have been more merciful on the newbie, or these fellas gotta learn at some point
>>
>>98726247
I'd allow the takeback if it was blatantly a retarded play and no new information was gained. Of course the Sheoldred was going to block, she's indestructible and a death toucher. But did that reveal anything else?
>>
>>98726274
Nothing new after that action, he was just bummed out and passed turn after combat.
>>
>>98726247
My only question would be if player C stated that Flawless granted indestructible. I could see a case where the two of you shortcutting the exchange because you know all the cards involved could result in the newbie not actually being aware of the indestructible, and assuming that the spell was stopped in some other way.

Otherwise it's kind of on the newbie for not remembering how Indestructible works from the previous game.
>>
>>98726247
I would allow it
If something new gets revealed I won't
>>
>>98726336
Okay this mightve been it

We kinda did shortcut the interaction. I hovered the removal over Sheoldred, he revealed Flawless, we both put our spells in our respective GYs. Took like 2 secs and he could've just missed it entirely
>>
>>
People will never learn from their mistakes or to pay attention to the game and not their phones if you allow rollbacks

so the Zeta release already came and went? what the fuck was the zero-window for ordering. what a bunch of bunk shit. between that and mystery booster C why do they feed the scalpers? is this their mind on hormones?

makes me glad I put this in a [br 3] Smaug the Impenetrable deck. Speaking of BLOOD MOONs anyone going to REALITY FRAC pre release on the full moon this FrI? what should I be looking for to draft

People will never lean from losing or to play for themselves and not kingmake if you allow _________
>>
>>98726424
My table dispenses "Fuckup tokens". Each player gets a little picture of Goofy saying "I fuhyucked up!" If someone misplays or fucks up their stack order, or forgets an end step trigger or whatever, they can turn in their token to fix it after the table votes on whether the action they wanted to take instead is legal and permissable. Fuck up tokens may not be used if the player has learned new game information since the point of fuck up. Once it's turned in, that's it for the night. Additional fuck up tokens cannot be earned in any way.
>>
If I fuck up and it costs me a win I just say I concede. But people keep getting mad at me for doing this. I don't get it. They wont let me do a take back and I am not gonna win. So that's gg.
>>
>>98726551
Perhaps they are interpreting it as you scooping because you don't get a take back, much like a small petulant child would.
>>
>>98726568
I fuck up my combo. They board wipe me next turn but don't kill me. I concede. I know my deck I'm not gonna top deck something with zero board state and just win. I don't see a problem with this as long as it's 1v1.
>>
>>98725797
I want to make a deck around blue Thalia

Probably not the first to do it, but I think it's funny.

tq:

I'm not into the space travel type shit. but I recently replayed final fantasy 8 (one of the games really neglected by the UB, along with 5 and Tactics completed SNUFF'D) and spoiler, theres a sorceress suspended in a power-dampening tomb orbiting the moon. this type of sci fi shit would be really flavorful for MTG. (pic rel)

also instead of space ships and stuff using magic for teleportation and stuff is more flavorful. I don't think I'd be opposed to an Alien UB but I think I'm more just into the idea of HR Gieger art (or a SLD, all his titty and penor imagery might just trigger too many troon groomers though).

cyberpunk stuff can possibly work but I think Kamigawa neon kind of missed the mark. but maybe the next one will work. if it has Mech's that works for futuristic settings, as anything without mech's like Starfield and Fallout never makes sense since that Gundam style shit will definitely be in the future
>>
>tq
I'm not a fan of it, but I don't mind it, the current rate of scifi is fine for me
my favorite are fairytale themes like lorwyn, eldraine, bloomburrow

FF set didn't have any spinoffs, tactics wasn't snuffed it was nonexistent Commander Legends: Battle for Ivalice when
>>
I really like the idea of spells with lots of coloured pips and no generic mana costs, any commanders that are interested in that? Obviously with too many colours it would be difficult to consistently cast spells that have more than two or three of the same colour pip, but then again I could just do something like Progenitus and go all-out
>>
>>98725776
Soul Shatter is good but trying to cycle sorceries and instants from your graveyard is much harder to do versus equipment. Not only that but the card pairs perfectly with blink mechanics so it's pointless to argue Lich's Relic is "sorcery speed". It's insanely broken for what it can do.

>>

>Progenitus
well this will get you there.
not that Progenitus is like, good to cast. but this will let you cast him.
>>
>>98727252
Play the new Jhoira.
>>
>>98727252
The problem is that there is no such thing as an attractive black woman, even anime "black" women heavily borrow features from other races
>>
>>98727329
Nice wrong opinion you have there
>>
>>98727202
Aside from >>98727278 a lot of the Theros gods work for that, since any permanents with all colored pips count well toward Devotion.
