Okay so I have an idea for a cyoa
You pick your powers from affinities: Life, Death, Chaos, Order, Nature, Might. Life - Death and Order - Chaos are opposing affinities and can't be picked at the same time. Affinities are split into 5 levels, where level one is basic stuff like Order 1: Elemental Bolt, Death 1: Weakness Hex and level five is peak of the affinity (Life 5 has True Resurrection, Chaos 5 has True Annihilation and Might 5 has all the punch good stuff).
And player can pick only one affinity to get to level five, and one secondary to progress to level three, or two secondary affinities for levels 2 and 1.
Any combination of level 5 and at least level 2 affinity gets a unique skill, ex. 5/2 Life/Order gets golem creation, 5/2 Nature/Life has true shapeshifting, 5/2 Death/Nature gets demonology etc.
Going 5/3 makes you, obviously, better at your specific area, but going 5/2/1 can let you take some basic stuff to cover your bases (dipping 1 into Might to nab some combat expertise or physical reinforcement, or Chaos 1 to branch into destructive spellwork).
I think I might ditch Might, but on the other hand I am not sure how to handle combat abilities then. Just to be clear, Might isn't just about having weapon mastery, but literal physical training and vitality, to the point of being resistant to magic or things like mind control.

So I have been wanting to make a shapeshifter build that takes Mythic Beast as a Signature Technique so that I can out Monster the Monsters as a beast hunter. My mythic beast form is a kaiju sized multiheaded dragon (a bit like King Ghidorah but not a wyvern), with all sorts of goodies like redundant organs, powerful senses, and nigh invulnerable scales. For the special bonus I would obviously choose the breath attack if it’s limited to one, but I think Signature Technique might let me get more. My recovery disposition is usable in combat and one of my strategies will be to literally devour my enemies.

Outside of Mythic Beast my build is a bit bare as I am somewhat Potentialmaning here but I did take Illumination of the Heart as finding legendary’s in the wild is hard and I will need it when I face down the Abyss Lords (any decent Lovecraft monster has mental stuff). I also have a good team with a strong set of powers I will be learning from and vice versa, as well as a faction that has secrets. Technique Artistry is also relevant here as it enables me to teach other people techniques easier, and my sect is eagerly waiting for the Aura Burst. Not for me but the most important Technique for my companions and sect to learn will be Inhuman Evolution (big part of taking Fumie) so that my Monster Hunting team can all have monster forms as it changes the tactics of the whole thing significantly.

Made sure not to piss off any other factions as I really want to stay PVE against monsters (and be loved by everyone) and not mess with the true nightmare PVP of the city (and King Yama can fuck off with his need for “Muscle”).

Not actually true most of the time, build the base and work towards it. It's the reason so many builds are potential maxing institute apprentices. I have thought of some awesome combos made of just basic and great techniques but they would be a ton of points just for the abilities, but it isn't hard to imagine an adventure of working on getting them over time. It does hurt build variety from a meta sense and I do wish PCA understood how bad of a value proposition most basics are but for our imagination it's great.

I'm convinced that concubines are a trap option. The last thing you need when you're trying to conquer a dimension is personal luxury. It will make you soft, and weak, and vastly worsen any preexisting impulses to procrastinate. Mysterious Entity forbid, grabbing them with Deadline is suicide.

Even with trying to use Breed to make stronger minions, they are still vastly inferior to most other troops if you aren't a Manipulator. The better route is to choose a race or races that don't have to worry about sex and avoiding the Lustful Minions drawback. Permanent post-nut clarity, because there was never a nut to be had. Just pure logic, singularly bent unto strategy. Such an army would know no equal under heaven. There is a reason why liches who, barring some gimmick chasers in denial, lack genitals are also universally able to put even an archmage on the ropes. Sex is a distraction from conquest. Oblative gesture has lots of defensive ability just by itself, and I can get spirits that are defensive to defend me just like I'd have spirits who are offensive. I am a generalist, i'm just not a generalist myself, it comes from my minions. by the way, have you considered a flow minion build? imagine flow entities powered by 7 conductions and a couple of legendary flow support techniques synergizing with each other, alchemy isn't the only way to run strong minions

It wont take that long, even weak spirits I can massively empower, and i'm out here hunting spirits as both my job and as a way to increase my power. It's literally jjk type shit, there's gorillions of spirits of all kinds of powers and stuff ripe for the taking.

Eh, it's one ability to make minions with flow. I like flow because its the combat version of alchemy and can do anything. I've made some flow builds before but never posted them, not about alchemy. I've also made some core builds, but never posted them either. I think i'm just a caster at heart, and I like having minions and a diverse set of abilities, so summoning is my go-to powerset since it fulfills that criteria.
