Cool, my rusty Kill Team equipment is in the compilation.
I've been working on the first big Exodite building today. Spent four hours doing marble effects. I'll post a pic when I'm done.
Also, Scale 75's Caribbean Blue is my new favourite colour. Absolutely beautiful turquoise.
But man I'm never buying direct from them again. All the paints look cheap, but they hide the taxes and a bunch of extra prices until checkout. I fucking hate when companies do that. Still, beautiful colour.

So now that I have pretty much finished my megalithic project, I was thinking of doing something mesopotamian/egyptian-like. Something like a ziggurat, farm fields, some mesopotamian houses, and maybe smething like the doors of Ishtar and mesopotamian walls. Has anyone done anything like it? Any suggestions/advice before I start?

Reminds me of an ancient miniatures game from RAFM called Death in the Dark. It pitted bands of Dwarven prospectors and adventurers against a handful of Dark Elves, but the Dark Elves were able to call upon their spider minions to even the odds.

The game was similar to Mordheim, but very complicated, even taking into account fatigue as the models battled round after round of combat against each other.

Where do I go from here? I was thinking vibrant yellow for the eyes but it blended in with the bony face so it isn't popping at all. Should I switch for bright green? Blue? Orange or even purple?

Also these marines being all flat and round doesn't match with Speed Paint at all. I mitigated the red by applying three layers but that defeats the point and it's still stainy. Would three layers of shader been better or virtually the same?

I wouldn't mind using this as an opportunity to push myself into mastering regular acrylic but Speed Paint has such a nice flow, I'll miss that.
If I do go for acrylic I'll have to thin it so I'll end up with two to three layers anyway or not really? I plan to prime off-white if that helps.

I just paint the base/any rocks in a cool brown then shmear the left pot all over the base as wanted with a disposable brush, wipe it off the rim before it dries then use a little coke spoon to sprinkle the right pot in any deeper spots I feel could use it
Picture's a bit washed out but the right pot adds a variation to the color to make it look like dry snow powder compared to the wet snow the left pot gives

With the wicked witch officially Good Enough, I now have no excuse not to build and paint four movement trays before Thursday. After she's varnished I'll add grass to the base and add bristles to make her staff into a broomstick. Maybe I'll also do some meme shit with real twine and real fake hair to really make her look nasty. The tray thing is a bit less fun than painting, but it improves gameplay enough that I won't skip.

yeah speed/contrast isn't great for marine armor panels.
you can keep using speed and shade as you are, but then glaze over it with a similar color to smooth out the stainy bits.
then highlight after
not familiar with the AP range. some GW contrast go on as a solid color like Baal Red which makes a great, single coat base. then shade, smooth it out with Mephiston, then highlight lighter red and finish with orange
Contrast on marines takes far to long to get decent results with in my experience
maybe there's AP equivalents in your collection you can try
For boney colors I'd glaze with an offwhite and highlight with white if I'd base coated with speed/contrast
Red armor in pic was done as described, started with contrast base

Haven't had any bubble issues with neither Metal Color or TMM, and I've laid it on pretty thick at times. I have however had some really bad bubbling issues with certain other Vallejo paints, to the point where stripping the mini was required. Tans and skin tones in particular.

I'm new and bought one of those "start here" citadel set. The redemptor armor paint bottle already has these nasty clumps around the rim and I don't know if I should be shaking the bottle before using it?

It is in fact GSW brown stuff. In the package, the brown half does get a crusty surface when it starts drying put, so I generally put it into as airtight a container as possible.

When mixed thoroughly with the silver half, it dries on the model as smooth as I make it.

Basically none if it's 1 of the basic models but any kit of the upgraded weapon specs will likely still have the basic sprues. If your looking for more miniature ones there are gachapon sets for the some of the armor suits that are around 1/20-25 scale but you would probably struggle to find them outside Japan.

Also anyone got stalhly's swatches for the kaleido paints, the ones I got work wonderfully but can find a good resource showing all the colour's.

I don't have friends so don't have anyone to play with. Thank you.

I usually bake the miniature multiple times and then i add bit by bit

I think you can see in the photos that there are several shades of grey depending on how many times it has been baked (the mace head for example, while the spikes and shaft were added later in a second bake).

The cork doesn't have any problems when baked since you are using a relatively low temperature. A good trick as usual is to not do everything at once but slowly work bit by bit, as you would with greenstuff or milliput. Let it cure or cool down after baking and add onto it like >>98750179 said. I barely sculpt more than 30-40 minutes in a session, and usually on multiple stuff.

Hell yeah. I love the Mk1 Rhino chassis and its variants, the Predators especially. Genuinely not sure on whether I prefer the metal Annihilator or Destructor turrets. The riveted "soup-bowl" on the Annihilator is really charming but I do like the boxiness of the Destructor. Kinda wish the Deimos Predator had the square turret option as well- I know it's based on the old RT all-plastic Predator but hot take, I think I like the part-metal 2E ones more.
Also I really like the commander and the splash of white on the missile.

Yeah, it's just infinity design choices
It would be more "realistic" to have the big box of ammo dangling down instead of being held up by a tiny sliver of metal, and it would be more realistic to have the huge ammo feed be as tight as possible to the body so it doesn't get snagged on every clothesline you pass

it's funny because that style of turret was cast in a single piece so there would be no reason for it to have rivets on it. apparently gw didn't get the message.
>>

I did think that, but then again trying to apply common sense to GW tank design is a bad idea. Even aside from them being underscaled (not a big deal, even historicals do that) you have things like the absolute cognitohazard that is the Land Raider's interior. At least with that Predator turret, you feasibly COULD build a turret like that, even if it makes zero sense to do so.
Anyway. Cool tonk is cool.

im in my 40s and all my friends who have children have their garages set up so they can have some hobby time to themselves and they usually have their computers there too
then i have friends who bought huge 2 story houses they will be paying until they are 80 years old and they just use the bedroom where the computer is, kitchen and the bathroom unless there is company
men dont really need much and men who arent even handy make due with even less

>I always wondered are people like this married or still live with their parents?
I'm married and have two kids. The hobby/computer/office room is upstairs, crowded with piles of stuff and boxes, and has but a small artist desk in the corner for me to do painting on.

I also have fairly large front and back yards and a sizeable garage, so I can do uvva stuff outside, but here in Texas, the weather often makes spraying outside a risky proposition unless you time it just right.

Fumes from lacquers are not something I would like to breathe or keep in same room I sleep in. Likewise, heard of married people that paint in kitchen but still don't use fumes producing products or are ignorant to health hazards. Spraying booth takes a lot of space.

Funny enough, when I attend local friendly group building meetings, many other people express desires to one day having separate workshop just for the hobby. It's nice, to have a dream.

>still living with parents
One parent in my case (which also means I technically own 1/4 of apartment) and most likely will stay that way because of astronomical prices for both rent and apartments in my country, situation that won't get solved under next 10 years or so. I don't think that any woman would like to marry me anyway. Whatever.

I tried the new tone paints at my local warhammer store today. They're pretty neat, very bright with lots of pigment and they flow a bit easier than the normal range. Since they dry evenly you can intentionally glob the paint on and still have detail, but you don't need to do much more than wipe the paint on a wet paper towel like usual to work with them properly. They'll be very forgiving for beginners, a positive thing, but for regular painters they'll be fun to try out. It's just another tool in the paint tree though not some magic do-all.

And how are these droppers versus the flip top lids alternatives? I have pondered both but I am not sure about flip tops as the flip top part might get "loose" but they have more surface area to paint on top for easy reference.
I would appreciate amazon Canada links to getting flip top lids and pic related lids compatible with the pro acryl bottles please.

>Are Pro Acryl paints actually good? What are the stinkers of the paint line if there are any?
PA is fine, albeit comes rather thin out of bottle. Their bottle design is a hot competitor with GW pot for the most retarded gay ass paint container in history of mankind.
Their (off)whites are imo the best on the market.
>>
>>98756706
Pro Acryl is pretty good. But the lids they have by default are kinda ass with the 'Monument tax' from excess paint coming out when you screw the top back on. At least, I don't think it is as bad as TTC's dropper bottles, which are especially nasty with washes.
>>
>>98756706
They're good, depends on what methods you use. I glaze a lot and am used to thicker paints like old VMC so over time i found that my natural instincts were clashing with the properties of the paints. They have a really nice matte finish and flow well but i personally ended up going with AK with a few of the choice colors from proacryl. Id rec their orange red, pyrolle red, paynes grey and black blue.
>>
>>98756706
just get AK, idk why anybody uses anything else.
>>
>>98756782
AK has meh metallics, and I would say PA does whites better. Otherwise agreed, easily the best range.

Pro acryl payne's grey is the only paint I've seen separate and get a dry lump on my wet palette while I'm using it. Every other paint either thickens or thins, payne's grey just quits being a paint after 30 minutes or so. Incredibly useful colour though.

What's a good primer for airbrush that is as resistant as the Abaddon black spray can? GW shit is expensive, sure, but I NEVER EVER scratch away the paint when I work on an abaddon black primed mini, while the times I airbrush vallejo or other primers on the minis, I can keep them "resting" for 2 days and they'll still fade away if I just so slightly touch them or god forbid attempt a drybrush. The only other black this good is lacquer black from alclad, but it's annoying to work with laquer for reasons.
>>
>>98756942
You sure this is not the problem of surface preparation? I highly doubt that GW primer somehow would bound so tightly while other primers don't.

You can always spray Tamiya primer, too.
>>
>>98756957
GW primer is near impossible to remove, even when soaked in 99% IPA for weeks.

>Payne's Grey
I read somewhere on this site that payne's grey is a good paint for blending colors to a darker tone than using black or actual grey. Where Ivory is good for lightening paints. I'm not sure if this is true. I'm talking blending color like how professional miniature bust painters do it.

Can anyone confirm that this is true and is AK's Dark Prussian Blue a good enough substitute for Pro Acryl's Payne's Grey for a similar function? My LGS sells AK standard paints but not the other 3rd gen lines.

>rhinox hide
Let me repost my older rambling.

Speaking of Rhinox Hide, a couple of threads back, there was a question about a non-GW replacement. Back then, I recommended AK AFV S.C.C. No.1A Very Dark Brown as the closest one-bottle solution. I still think so, but I've searched more through my browns collection.

If you don't want to mix and simply buy one bottle and be done with it, I still think the Very Dark Brown is a good solution, since it's very close to Rhinox - only tiny touch lighter and warmer. Alternatively, you can also get AP Banshee Brown, which is also very close, but also a bit warmer. However, I have also managed to mix pretty much perfect Rhinox by doing 3 parts of AK AFV Very Dark Brown with 2 parts German Camo Black Brown (70.822). Picrel. Hope it helps someone.

I need som clarity.

Reddit seems to hate the new citadel paints that are coming, because Army Painter already did «good» coverage.

Am I being gaslit? In my experience Army Painter still have the worst coverage of all the ranges. I fucking despise army painter paints. Pro Acryl, Vallejo and AK all have good coverage. But I have yet to find one single paint of Army Painter fanatic that isn’t a 5 layer grainy finish on a black undercoat.

Army painter fanatic range is pretty good. Though still a bit hit or miss. For example vermillion red is the worst red i've ever used, maybe I got a faulty bottle or something but it takes like 6 layers over a light primer to get coverage. Other paints have been pretty good to me. And regarding citadel, who cares about slightly better coverage if I have to pay premium and deal with those fucking paint pots which I hear don't even seal the paint well and have been drying out on people.

The John Blanche vermillion is very nice, a thinned base coat did me a proper job and I’ll probably only need another layer like normal. I worry they’ll be limited to their boxes though, but I’ve liked all the ones I’ve tried out of it so I’m getting my moneys worth.

Speaking of shit paints: what the fuck is up with these “3rd gen” AK paints?? I got these a little while ago cause they looked interesting. Picrel is my results finally trying one. Streaky, weak, bullshit. Is this airbrush paint? Do I fundamentally not know how to use them or are they known to be crap?? I tried normal, basecoat thinned out way and contrast painting ways, neither really worked. It wouldn’t take and had to load my brush for every stroke. Anyone else have this experience? Only ever read good about AK. I really hope the other two I got are better

>>98761229
>reddit seems to like AP
Because reddit is made up of braindead low IQ retards who has been massaged by AP marketing department for years. AP marketing department is the best performing part of that shitass company.
Can you paint alright stuff with it? Yes. Will it be a more retarded experience and require more effort than with other ranges? Also yes.

There's a reason (there are many reasons) why only very, very few scale modellers use AP, and they nearly universally use AK, Vallejo, or a rare Citadel paint here and there for water-based acrylics.

>>98761460
>Do I fundamentally not know how to use them
Yes. These are contrast, or quickgen paints, they are not normal acrylic paints. If you use them like that, they work about as well as regular Citadel Contrasts. Your pic looks like you just used them as normal acrylics and kept slapping on more paint.
>>
>>98761477
>Used contrast paint as base paint

Still better coverage than AP Fanatic
>>
Adding with my own experience, army painter can't do anything right. I remember buying their aribrush primers, airbrush matt coat and gloss coat because they were on sale, and they're just shit. I literally threw them in the bin, and I'm a hoarder. I have a couple of their paints from when I started, and they're runny as shit too.
If you wanna go low-cost, Vallejo is the best, I have a bunch of Game Colour and Model Colour and they work fine.
>>
>>98761526
I've thrown away like three of their rattle cans, literally unusable dogshit. I wish there was a place to sell my AP paints, too, because they are just gathering dust here.
>>
>>98761526
But their washes are quite good.
>>
>>98761574
They are, imo the best part of the entire AP range. Still, a bit redundant.
>>
>>98761574
Probably the only thing I haven't tried.
To be fair, these days I'm trying to get better at inks and oil washes, so I tend to avoid classic washes, I want to upgrade.
>>
>>98761613
NTA, but once I started using enamel and oil washes, I haven't used any acrylic washes again.
>>
>>98761646
I've been trying that on my Trench Crusade minis, because I feel the more "realistic" style lends itself well to oil/enamels. So far I like the results.
>>
>>98761477
Anon for 99% of people no paint brand will improve their painting
>>
>>98761783
Kinda disagree, I've been helping my brother paint(he's a perfectionist and hates painting, which basically means he's always afraid to "ruin" minis) and I can definitely see how him enjoying the process thanks to good paints (and my advice) that behave well makes him come back to painting, while doing a different, frustrating process due to bad paints makes him unwilling to come back to painting.
I'm not saying that good paints will turn you into Giraldez or Sergio Calvo overnight, but making the process enjoyable is what keeps you coming back

Probably also the reasons why GW markets Ultramarines as the default marines, blue and gold is an easy as fuck paint scheme compared to Blood Angels, where inexperienced painters end up making them either orange, terracotta or pink.

>paint models
>all my tools work as expected
>have a good time

>paint models
>my tools are not working as expected
>have a bad time

It's not about being better or worse. It's not even about the result. It's about having a good time. When I use AK paints, they just werk. They might not be the absolute best bleeding edge on the market, but they just werk. When I use AP paints, I have to thin them extra, the coverage sucks, different colors behave inconsistently, I have to fuck around for half an hour before I make them spray somewhat normally through airbrush. And they still melt away if they even whiff white spirit or enamels.
>>
>>98761867
And you have no problems with AK paints in airbrush? How much you thin them? I'm asking specifically because I have constant problems with AK paints in airbrush and all info I have about thinning and pressures are about Vallejo paints (which somehow works much better that way but I prefer to use AK since I would later like to use brush for touchups and such, so it makes sense to stick to exactly same shades).
>>
>>98761896
>And you have no problems with AK paints in airbrush?
Not at all.
>How much you thin them
My usual go to is Vince's mix (8/2 thinner/flow improver) 1 : 1 paint, but if you add a tiny touch more, it's usually no problem. Though I occasionally add extra retarder in case I'm doing more detailed work. It works flawlessly for most of the range, and I have about 100 AK paints. The only exception are (off)whites, which require extra thinning, but that's imo the acrylics in general.

Lately, I've been experimenting with Modeller's World Acrylic Doctor thinner instead, and it's been VERY interesting so far, might even replace Vince's mix.

>>
>>98761477
Well that’s funny then because I’m used to contrast paints, my army is mostly Magamadroth Flame, and it didn’t perform like one at all. My results are from trying to use it as such initially and finding it beading/not spreading first, then trying to use it like a normal base paint secondly. I’ll give it another shot, to maybe get my money’s worth at least but I have doubts
>>
>>98762993
Quick Gen paints are generally a bit thicker, with stronger pigments (they have it noted on the bottle), so you might need to dilute them first a little. Ideally with a dedicated thinner. That said, they work normally. It's not a bad range at all, just a bit redundant if you ask me.
>>
Okay, now it might be stupid question but - can compressor affect airbrush performance aside from pressure stability?

Holy soul I fucking love this model
>>
>>98763247
Yes. And it's imo not a stupid question, but one that a lot of people ignore for some reason. There's fuckload of potential problems tied to shit compressors. Moisture is a big one (compressors with shit or no moisture trap) leads to sputtering, water/condensate in your paint. It can fuckup lacquer finish terribly. Also, behavior similar to clogging (you start spraying, suddenly clog-like behavior that clears with another few sprays and repeats).
Shit compressors also often show the wrong pressure; I've seen chink compressors push out barely 10 PSI while showing 20 on the gauge.
There are more potential issues.

Also, speaking of moisture, if you have a cheap compressor with moisture trap, make sure you are draining it religiously.
Even with high tier compressors it's recommended to drain the moisture trap after every (longer) session. Even though these can go for literal months before it starts damaging the trap/tank. With cheap ones, it's an absolute must.

I have moisture trap in mine but it rarely catch anything, yet I try to drain it after every session. I don't spray lacquers and don't plan to, by the way. I still try to figure out why I have so many problems with paint drying in airbrush, from time to time try to narrow down potential causes and was wondering if compressor could be part of the problem (in case you would wonder - yes, this problem was analysed in /WIP/ before and yes, I'm the same guy). Pressure probably works correctly. Compressor is probably one of Chinese designs, pic related, and to be honest, it's the only design available in my country (usually sold under different brands but with similar price and exactly same design) so it's not like I have lot of choice. I didn't notice any moisture gathering inside either, trap is probably working as intended. I also empty the tank after each session.

Next month I will take airbrush to local friendly group building event (very fun activity, by the way, recommending it to everyone), maybe in group we would figure something out.

You are Polish anon, right? Pretty sure you can get Sparmax compressors (Iwata) in case you ever want to upgrade.
>>
>>98763543
I can't see you having all these problems without you either using paint that's too thick, leaving paint sitting in the cup for too long, bubbling/blowback, mixing in the cup, or leaving the cup dry for any longer than necessary. Put some distilled water in the cup if you spray it compleltely empty or in between paints and spray some of it out to make sure it gets in the nozzle. Getting some dry paint on the needle or on the inside is fine if the airbrush still sprays okay.

>>
>>98763543
>pic related
Yeah, everyone has that compressor, world-wide. So it ain't the compressor model that's the issue.
>>
>>98763247
the compressor is basically just an air supply. the main thing you need to pay attention to is the cfm rating. an airbrush doesn't use a lot of air so it's probably not a problem even with a cheap compressor, but if you have a hvlp gun it can be important.
>>98763319
brings up moisture but pretty much every compressor will end up with water in it unless you live in the desert which is why you want an inline moisture trap.

>>98763543
you are both misunderstanding how moisture traps work. humidity in the air turns into water inside the tank. the moisture trap attached to your compressor doesn't remove that water from the tank, it just traps any that's coming out of it so the air coming out of the line is dry. you should drain the moisture trap or replace the pink beads in it if it has them, but you should also drain the water from the tank.

>>
>>98763971
It's my homebrew hive fleet.

If you want the basic recipe, it's this

Step 1 - prime white

Step 2 - agrax earthshade wash (whole model) - This is part of what I would consider a lazy slapchop.

Step 3 - Drybrush white over the entire model. This completes the lazy slapchop prep

Step 4 - Identify which chitin plates will be yellow. Then, apply familiar pink speedpaint (or a similar pink contrast of your choice) over those plates.

Step 5 - Drybrush white on those plates a second time.

At this point, you should have a model that has essentially two separate slapchop style bases, one in brown tones to white, one in pink tones to white, ready for color.

Step 6 - Apply bad moon yellow contrast onto the pink plates. I've tried a lot of yellow contrast type paints for this. I think this one is the best for this by a wide margin. This should give you those nice orange to yellow tones you see on the plates

Step 7 - occultist cloak speedpaint on the black plates. This is a bluish black, and lets the edge highlights through a bit better than other options I'd tried. I didn't try templar black contrast, though, and mean to, so that might also work well. I do the claws and hooves the same color.

Step 8 - Cleanup any issues with the plates here.

Step 9 - pallid bone speedpaint on flesh and bio weapons.

Step 10 - goddess glow speedpaint on the bio weapon

Step 11 - The inner meat color I use here is a mix of 9 parts imperial fists yellow, one part magmadroth flame constrast paints. I call it bug juice and mix it in large batches.

Step 12 - Poppy red on eyes, white the teeth

since you are new I'll remind you that in america it's called clear coat and varnish is for wood. don't let yuropoors who can't even afford air conditioning colonize your terminology. anyway the challenge is that not everything in real life has the same finish. in an ideal situation you might want a gloss clear for some parts and a matte finish for others, but unless you want to spend hours masking tiny ass miniature parts you're stuck with one type for the entire model. the trend right now is ultra matte but satin can look ok depending on the model. I would avoid gloss unless you are trying to make something look like a car.

Varnish isn't super important if you've got a good primer, but only you can say how roughly you handle your minis. Gloss will give the best protection, but I'd say it makes minis look a bit cheaper and takes away from the paint job, satin is a nice middle ground if you're worried about your metallics looking flat. There's always the risk of frosting your varnish if you're not used to it in any case, so make sure if you do choose to use something, you practice on a test piece first

I wouldn't use glossy varnish for space marines. It's usually too glossy for that, unless you want shiny iron warriors. It'd be more fitted for liquids or a mirror. Satin is usually what you want for most armors if you want a bit of reflection, it can also be used for slightly moist skin.
Ultra matte for everything else is usually what most people go for.
>>
>>98766834
gloss varnish is protective, it makes a good shell, so always use it first.
matte varnish is not protective, it's purpose is to alter the way light reflects off the surface it is applied too.
Satin ranges around halfway between the two in those terms.
Start gloss, then go with what you want for a reflective finish.
Anons continuous claims about "you dont need it with a good primer" are likewise stupid, the right primer CAN help witht hat first layer of paint, but it doesn't help with layer 3-5 at all, and for hobby "primers" this is a moot point as primers that chemically etch themselves into the underlying surface arent what we use, they would ruin details.

>>98767926
chatgpt does not have hands, chatgpt cannot do a side-by-side test of varnishing a model and then attempting to scratch paint off with a fingernail, gloss varnish = impossible, matte varnish = as if the paint were naked.
it's physics, not only does gloss varnish tend to be a bit thicker, but its finish is very low friction, whereas matte varnish works by being roughly textured, damaging contact grabs the surface and can remove the underlying paint as a consequence, with a candyshell of gloss under the matte there is nothing to remove when it gets dinged.

For airbrushing metallics on my dreadnaughts, should I start with the darker metallics for the internal stuff, then cover that with putty to put the colored metallics on the armor panels? or should I start with the armor panels and then cover them to spray the internal parts?

it's just retarded hobby lore. it's all the same shit with the only difference being how much it levels on the surface. gloss is smooth while matte is microscopically bumpy. the idea that "gloss is stronger" probably comes from the fact that when gloss clear used to be the trend people would put on multiple wet coats, while now people are afraid of their models looking shiny so they just mist their ultra matte on.

So close to finishing now. The first part of the base and the white oil on the Tesla are still drying. The basing still needs finishing (obviously), the missiles I forgot about need painting, and then some streaking grime and/or a tiny bit of rust effects. Finally it will be the Tesla glow and I'll have finished my Percival

Do you guys make your own plinths for busts or know where to get them for cheap? I have some that will need to be mounted to stay upright and the cheapest Ive seen is probably 10 bucks a pop unless I try to make it myself out of wood cubes.
>>
Do any of you guys have problems finding space for your modeling work?

There's a hobby shop out here that's building out rentable booths stocked with tools and stuff for people to come build and paint models in and I'm wondering if that's actually a thing people want.

They are building an airbrush booth that's like one of those soundproof meeting boxes some offices have.

I would just paint the interior stuff by hand after the airbrushing.

>Do any of you guys have problems finding space for your modeling work?
No. But then again, I'm a loner who lives in a large place, so not a standard.
>I'm wondering if that's actually a thing people want.
It's pretty common in Japan. I can't personally imagine going to places like that. Building/kitbashing/painting models is a deeply meditative activity for me.

>while now people are afraid of their models looking shiny
I got over this by simply taking my pictures before varnishing and never photographing varnished models. Easy trick.

I'm a tabletop gamer, I paint gaming miniatures, this is /tg/

>>98771073
you don't paint any miniatures actually

maybe you can get them a couple bucks cheaper but that sounds about right
unless you need a fuckton of them it's worth to get them at that price for the time you save in turning sanding and finishing alone

>>98771073
we already had this conversation, you are (mostly) alone in your gatekeeping

I do have about 20 busts to paint, I was hoping to just grab them in bulk but youre right I'll just pick up a few at a time. Spent 20 minutes trying to cut a wood cube down to size with a hobby saw would rather just by premade.
>>
>>98770915
I suppose you'd need them in varying sizes? Maybe you can look into acrylic cubes. The clear cases might work with a little dressing up. Maybe you can find some deals for wood post caps or decorative bases for fancy add ons. If you just want wood chunks, maybe raid a wood supply shop's scrap bin, even? Or perhaps a furniture workshop
