Are there any legitimate reasons to boycott Games Workshop?
>>
>>98748809
There weren’t before SPACE KING came along. But now GW has fallen and there is a true successor game it’s your moral duty to boycott GW and support SPACE KING instead.
>>
>>98748809
Are there any legitimat reasons not to boycott Games Workshop?
>>
>>98748840
What?

I mean you can spend the money to get a printer set up. If you know the piracy outlets.
I don't have a full grasp so I don't think I count in knowing them. It is a classic case of beloved IP, but owners not doing a good job of running the IP outside of making profit.
>>
>>98748809
Nah, but if you can’t afford the models just print them. I like 40K and I like the models, but will admit that they are very overpriced. I make enough to buy them. I can’t be assed to deal with a printer and I like supporting local game shops and the hobby. I can imagine it’s tough to get into it these days with the ever increasing prices and not knowing if it’s a worthwhile investment and for many it’s just money that’s gonna be spent to be stashed in a closet in a month or 2.

I guess that’s the double-edged sword of lore-tubers. They are now the biggest draw and although they will bring in a few new people who legitimately enjoy the hobby and game, they also draw the trannies who will demand GW add binary, black, pansexual epic-heroes to the roster before they jump ship for the next trend.
>>
>>98749107
This anon basically nailed it right there.

If loretubers had any spine they would have been the first line of defense against the trannification of warhammer. All GW had to do was remain neutral and allow the gatekeepers do the dirty work for them.

Instead we got maximum corpo and faggot pandering on all fronts, and GW blacklisting anyone who had the dignity to oppose it.

>You will not be missed, after all

You may think you hate GW, but you never hate them enough
>>
>>98749180
Yeah, they always just do stuff in the most soulless, corporate way. It’s honestly smart on their part. Businesses always have an interest in avoiding PR nightmares and you can’t really say that GW is digging themselves into any holes. At the same time, it also feels like they’ve turned their backs on the fans who made them what they are to turn a profit. Even in that case I can’t blame them, I’m sure many of us would if faced with the same challenge and payoff. It really is the nerdiest, “I don’t wanna fight” copout.
>>
>>98749180
i don't get that attitude to things, why get into something just to try and change it? it's so dumb, like, go into something that caters to you already

i'm a tranny and i love my burly Black Templar boys and if they get changed i'll be so upset
>>
>>98748885
GW advertises their skin-tone paints by painting 2-3 out of 10 models on their box covers dark and this means white genocide or something.
>>
The difference between a boycott and just stopping giving them any money because you are sick of their shit rules, shit prices, shit models and shit corporate scummyness is some delusion of grandeur.
>>
no, but boycott black library for sure.
>>
>>98749226
>go into something that caters to you already

Thats why you don't understand them. If it already caters to them, then they are not interested. They are only interested in things that can be politically subverted.

Why? Because there is an overwhelming subset of leftoid trannies that are temperamentally high neuroticism, high anxiety and thus literally feel existentially threatened by anything.

As long as there is a sinlgle chud in this world they unconciously feel intense dread as if they can be genocided at any moment. Hence the whole bogus Trans genocide narrative.

Subverting and undermining anything that doesn't yet pander to them them is their only way to feel in control. And they will prioritise doing that at any cost to relieve their death anxiety.

In their minds this is a matter of life and death, thats why they will never stop ever.
>>
>>98749275
that's kinda sad in a way, to feel that worried all the time

is it a big media issue? i wouldn't be surprised desu
>>
>>98749226
The general LGBTQIIAPTC3P mindset isn’t about getting into the hobby, it’s about finding something that doesn’t revolve around you and trying to force it to. Instead of “immersing yourself into a game” it’s “make the game become me”.
>>
Boycotting implies you want to buy their product but are refraining. I just don't like the new products they've been making so I don't buy them.
>>
>>98748809
>Are there any legitimate reasons to boycott Games Workshop?
Oh that's easy
They didn't renew the FFG license.
>>
>>98749275
It comes from the fact most of them are ex-evangelicals and that’s is just the American evangelical mindset.
>>
>>98749275
>as if they can be genocided at any moment.
I wish they would be
>>
>>98748809
Why would you touch GW products in the forst place? You are older than ten, right?
>>
>>98749341
Isn't FFG basically dead anyway?
>>
>>98748809
>legitimate reasons to not give a company money
Nigger, anything you want. Just because you feel like it. You aren't obligated to give any company money. I've been getting recasts from chang and ivan of things I like and buying indie models for over a decade, GW's doing fine.
>>
>>98749107
The thing about lore tuners bringing in the new people is they are generally drawing on fluff and other background elements made literally decades ago at this point that don't really reflect what 40k has become. Let us be honest: does anyone know what the fuck has been going on since they fucking reconned the shit that happened in 8th edition? Has there been any meaningful plot point that people still talk about that has been developed since 8th? Does anyone know, or care, about what has happened since G Money came back, great rift, primaris?
>>
>>98749628
>plot point
Who does that? We always went with campaigns or scenarios for OURDUDES, the closest we got to do anything related to the "narrative" at large was a few games on armageddon for the vibes. It's that or ultra competitive fags that don't give a shit about setting or fluff. If you really want to base your games in some established conflict there's no shortage of options, from things barely mentioned that you can use however you like to detailed operations in WD and published books, but it's just that, a setting. Who follows the plot?

That's the whole point of the setting. The primarchs are back? And? If they're not on the table, they're as irrelevant as before.
>>
>>98748809
Yeah their shareholders are vanguard and blackrock
>>
>>98748840
That and European cultures and history.
>>
>>98749606
...yes because of the license pull.
>>
>>98749793
They had other stuff including star wars man, they kept going for years after they lost the 40K license
>>
>>98749628
Only the bought-and-paid for loretubers like Luetin and Weshammer who signed the partnership program cover the latest slop.

If they tend to release their lore suspiciously timed along new releases, you just know they are in the partnership program.
They are not allowed to disclose or badmouth GW due to the NDA.

The good trustworthy channels only cover the worthwhile lore
>>
>>98748809
I don't boycott GW, I just stopped buying their products and playing their games (except some dead old stuff for nostalgia's sake).
>>
>>98748885
I'm trying to figure out how there are suddenly black blood angels when they were always described as pale skinned.
>>
>>98750433
Don't bother. They don't care about consistent lore only about virtue signalling and making money.
>>
Probably about the constant price rises, the lack of transparency about continued rules support or a fucking roadmap at the start of every new edition so people have some idea when their codices, Libers and whatever the two Fantasy settings codex equivalents are called are coming out.

They have tip toed a ton around female custodians from what I've seen in the articles recently. They are using the new kits but none of the images have female heads on them, its either a male head or a helmet. My buddy plays custodes so I'll probably ask to borrow it to see if theres any details about it in the 11th edition codex. Cause the three stories in the 10th edition book were absolutely shit, one about the blood games where the custodian broke the rules by leaving Terra as well as using a stupid plan to teleport a bomb in despite the Aegis around the palace making that impossible to do, a custodian who pioneered a strategy where her units ride their jetbike onto a world from Orbit descending like a meteorite despite custodian jet bikes not having heat shields last I knew about and then the last known female custodian has a single sentence saying how she died during the heresy
>>
>>98750447
Indeed.
>>
>>98748809
Yeah, but it's not really gonna do much. The window of opportunity to take GW down was back then during 40k 6th edition, when other alternatives were rearing up and growing up fast.
Sadly, said alternatives all collectivelly tripped over their own dicks while shooting themselves in the foot simultaneously. Very sad.

Voting with your wallet is literally your last form of agency if you live in the USA or any of its vassal states. The politicians are bought and paid for. There's cameras everywhere and your phone is listening to you. The average age of a first-time homebuyer in the USA is 40.

So yes, I'd argue that you have a moral oligation to throw some money at small game companies run by actual gamers. GW doesn't care how much you complain about them online. If you want them to change you have to not reward their predatory behavior. The lack of competition got us in this corporate plutocracy to begin with.
>>
>>98749624
Yeah recasts are great, especially with so many models OOP from GW anyways.
>>
>>98754941
>Voting with your wallet is literally your last form of agency if you live in the USA or any of its vassal states.
Voting with your gun is actually effective, though, unlike using your wallet.
>>
>>98748809
How about them being a scummy company that releases overpowered shit for the sake of selling models to idiots who want to win tournaments then nerfs said models before they can even hit the table?
>>

That's all just good business. Why do you hate capitalism, commiefaggot?

Reasons to boycott:
>Age of Shitmar
>Primaris
>40k is horribly balanced
>Imperial Agents haven't had an army rule for 3 years even though it would take GW ten minutes to add
>Codexes are outdated about 1 week after they're printed. GW could put all rules in an app for free or very cheap but they don't
>Rules changes are scattered across a million different webpages and FAQs
>Game is horrendously bloated with rules and honestly not very fun, has been far removed from its wargame roots. Most of the skill is in list building
>Game is overly focused on Primarch "heroes" being mandatory parts of your army
>Not having space to play 2000pt games in shops anymore
>GW-made tools and paints are overpriced
>Points inflation of armies so that it costs a huge amount of money and time to buy, build and paint 2000pt armies
>Dark Eldar have half of their models/rules deleted
>Mike Brooks writing gay propaganda in every book he does
>Female Custodes
>Primaris
>Age of Shitmar

Reasons not to boycott:
>The setting still has untold depths of cool
>Models are actually decent quality
>GW makes most of their models etc in the UK
>GW is a sizeable chunk of the GDP of Great Britain
>>
>>98749297
>Alphabetti

What does it stand for this week? I remember when it was just Lockheed General electric Bae, Texas instruments Qinettic.

I'm running out of defence contractors, the gays need to slow the fuck down.

The balance of power wherein an armed citizen militia would have any chance against a totalitarian regime exercising state power against its citizens is so far gone it's stupid to even think about it. The Jeffersonian vision of armed citizen soldiers being able to defend themselves from the government literally failed in its inception, see the Bacon Rebellion, and that was in the 1700s. The people would have even less of a chance now.
The peoples only chance is the ballot box, and voting overwhelmingly for one side.
>>
>>98756396
A lot of those reasons not to boycott are reasons for everyone NOT getting GWs UK subsidized discount to immediately boycott them.
GW products would become instantly cheaper, overnight, if they moved production to the US.
However, they have no one to buy their facilities in the UK, because the UK is a failed state at this point.
>>
>>98756456
>The peoples only chance is the ballot box, and voting overwhelmingly for one side.
Then the people have no chance at all.
>>
>>98756396
>>GW is a sizeable chunk of the GDP of Great Britain
Are they really?
>>
>>98748809
No, but you don't need one.
They make toys and games, if they suck then you don't buy from them. You do not require a higher call to normality than this.
>>
>>98756456
>The balance of power wherein an armed citizen militia would have any chance against a totalitarian regime exercising state power against its citizens is so far gone it's stupid to even think about it
Meanwhile they've lost against militas since the 70s.
>>
>>98748809
Brexit is and always will be a legitimate reason to boycott any Bri*ish company.
>>
>>98760526
Good. Peter Thiel says the world population must be reduced to 1 billion total, and he's right. I hope that poors don't have a chance, and I cant wait to see billions of them die. The people had their chance, and they blew it. Now it's extreme measures to save the human race from the proto-Morlocks in Africa, India, and San Francisco.
>>
>>98748809
how about just buying and playing whatever you want
>>
>>98761370
>peter thiel is based if you just ignore everything else about him

>>98761299
>the most leftist-guided execution of the most moderate right wing policy on immigration and globalism imaginable is le bad because what if we have to make new trade agreements with the same countries ourselves instead of being told how they work by a foreign power
>>
>>98749180
>the first line of defense
>remain neutral
Power is from the top, down only and forever. There was never going to be a GW with "principles" that it guarded against a trend in culture as big as culture itself. Subcultures navigate - usually in the form of hiding or escaping from - dominant culture, they do not dictate the terms of their relationship with it. This is just complete normie cope like every other "someone (NOT ME) needs to... le DO something" ideology. It is not how change happens. Loretubers can go woke by being happy about being raped, they can go anti-woke by being a spergy nogames nofriends who talks about what we already know more than anything actually to do with the game, or they can be loretubers. Most of them stayed loretubers and this angers you because you are irrelevant and they are not.
>>
>>98761299
Nah Brexit was a great idea, shame it was handled by politicians who clearly just didnt actually give a fuck about British sovereignty and flooded us with several thousand more migrants then we already had. Thanks Boris Johnson, you fat fuck.
