Reposting my question from dead threadWhy is Maelstrom Wanderer a legendary if it seems like a regular monster, is it a singular creation of the Maelstrom that just has no proper name?
>>98756699I hope whoever came up with the idea to have an entire set mechanic dedicated to making Jace tokens gets brutally raped until he has to use a colostomy bag for the rest of his life.

>>98756802>salvation wiki basically just says the maelstrom spit it out at some point and he's still running around now that it's goneI guess he's just a big singular dude everyone sees over by where the maelstrom used to be.
My Reality Fracture precon hasn't arrived in the mail, so it feels like I haven't even experienced the set yet. I played a bit on Arena, but Arena and Commander are practically two different games.I am looking forward to Star Trek, yes. I bought the Klingon deck, and when I play it at the LGS with randoms I am going to do a gay-ass Klingon voice/impersonation as I play it.

Not gonna lie. When they announced Kpop Demon Hunter last year I expected exclusive cards like Sonic or PlayStation.
>>98757328some retards are just contrarian with no common sense whatsoever
Is there a room for Underworld Breach combo lines in Bracket 3?
>>98757391depends on if you can tutor it or not (I think)
>>98757259>mtg is better with less mtg in itMaybe you just don't like the game
>>98757391No. It plays so easily into typical izzet storm lines that it happens accidentally immediately. Every time I see breach land in B3 it wins that turn, because it produces its own protection (you have counterspells in yard)
>>98757283UB isn't immune to thisI don't even need to include an imagine cause you know it
>>98757418UB is unironically better Magic than most UW sets though. It forces top-down design rather than letting the designers rely on the crutch of designing the whole world around the color pie which is why worlds keep feeling flat.
>>98757391If you're in the number of game changers and aren't turbo winning with it before whatever the arbitrary turn number is, yes.
>>98757316>I know some of you guys are the same people doing this multiple times a weekYou mean assume

>>98757469>Don't worry guys, my vivi deck is only a bracket 3!>3 turns later he's breaching
>>98757259Eh, depends. The early commander products flew off the shelves and Final Fantasy did amazing, then several UB sets are still sitting on store shelves.TMNT and Spider Man were horrible failures (to my knowledge), I donโt really know how Marvel did but I havenโt heard anyone personally loving it.The real lesson here is the same one every other company is learning: weebs are retarded and will fling boat loads of cash at anything that looks faintly like anime.
>>98757469I have it on my Jaya Ballard deck so I can double up on my burn spells, surely that's an alright use case?
>>98757468yes
>>98757171>>98757248For me it's prepared. Looking for a commander who plays well with it tho
>>98757468You really thought you were cooking with this one didn't you? What's even the point of having a conversation with someone who can't even understand the concept being discussed? Overexposure was the only problem with Jace. The lesson that needed to be learned is that when MTG chases a trend, it sucks and when they just do their own thing it tends to be pretty good. They tried to turn the walkers into some marvel bullshit and people got tired of it, that's not really a problem with top down vs bottom up philosophy.
>>98757506So... you're saying WotC made a bad top-down character design?
>>98757501https://scryfall.com/search?q=type%3Alegendary+o%3A%22other+than+your+hand%22&unique=cards&as=grid&order=nameIn searching this you kinda made me want to build a prepare deck of my own. I already have an Emeritus of Woe from a lucky promo pack.
>>98757514It's amazing how much edhg discourse is just them pretending not to understand things, thus making discourse impossible.
This guy is, like, everything I want in a commander. He's a slow durdly value heap who doesn't tell you how to build him. That being said I have no idea how I WOULD build him.
>>98757546I built him a fungus tribal and proliferating the fuck out of spore tokens.I was banned from my local pod because my turns took too long. So, probably don't do that either, narrowed it down a bit.
>>98757546>simic with black
>>98757523>When they do their own thing it tends to be pretty good>"Their own thing" is the gatewatch>No that doesn't count
>>98757684You proved anon's last two sentences in >>98757506 correct.
>>98757447I suppose it's possible that there are multiple people who sign their posts with the same annoying avatarfaggish catchphrases so as to collectively pretend to be a single person, but my prior against that being true is so strong that I default to the word "know" in this case rather than acknowledging the cosmic uncertainty inherent in all things with a word like "assume"
>>98757704No, you're just trying to disqualify every obvious counterexample with no true scotsman. Every time Magic made a shitty worldbuilding decision it doesn't count because it's trendchasing, but when they trendchase urban fantasy with Ravnica it counts because it worked.
>>98757738I'll tell you thisI haven't been posting for over a month so if other people are bitching its gotta be multiple people
>>98757546My first instict would be to build around the imprint artifacts like mimic vat
>>98757684Yet again, not even close to what I said. You are just trying to gotcha me again. I'll just say my point once again, MTG has had a history of well made top down sets (Kamigawa, Invasion Cycle etc) and does not need to dilute their world building with outside IPs for that purpose.>>98757743>Every time Magic made a shitty worldbuilding decision it doesn't count because it's trendchasing>every timedawg we were talking about ONE specific example and indeed it took something that was relatively cool and made it shit because of a trend.
>>98757743Foremost, not my post. Unlike you I can just read it.Second, no a No True Scotsman, anon's point was that trendchasing and forced icons get hated. I'd argue there's some level of contradiction there, but it's not wrong, and all you did was validate his trendchasing example.Third, nobody gave any other examples of Magic's "bad" worldbuilding, so put away the strawman since it just makes you look schizo.Fourth, Ravnica isn't urban fantasy. It's a city planet, not a contemporary modern setting. Having a trope in itself isn't trendchasing either since almost anything is a trope. Your point would have stuck if you said Thunder Junction or something, but there's a counterargument that the Omenpaths and hat sets are just part of trend of how modern shows treat multiverse stories.Fifth, you're a gay faggot and have AIDs.
>>98757546Just the other day he was mentioned as a commander that can ult Dreadhorde Lili on t6 so there's that lol. sultai elves and superfriends? ramp into 4-6mv walkers, and then sac the tapped elves to proliferate.

>>98759033Vishgraz is genuinely a very good blink-go-wide or aristocrats commander.
You can't get mad about UB when the only good recent precons have been UB ones. Seriously if you wanted to get someone into the game the only "good" precons worth using are all UB, so unless you actually do something about that nothing will change
>>98759190I don't have a stake in UB being shit or not, but this is a terrible metric.
>>98759190violence is illegal
>>98759231UW is violence to good storytelling correct
>>98759190They juice the ub precons just so they'd actually sell otherwise you get shit like the terra deck just rotting on shelves
>>98759248I mean "unless you actually do something" is a call for violence and illegal activity.
>>98758628Used to be cool probably still goodhttps://youtu.be/ddAs31dTntY Would need lots of updating
>>98758640Wow you can break something fragile! You are almost as smart as my toddler!
>>98759230Not really, when UB is one of the only things worth buying now it's no wonder people keep buying them. The only way to fix that is making UW just as appealing from a value and gameplay standpoint. >>98759255That's fair, but that's also supporting my point in that people need to make their views on that known so Wizards makes UW precons and new sets just as worth playing and paying for versus grabbing a hobbit set or some shit.
>>98759269>Not really, when UB is one of the only things worth buying nowBoth of the EoE precons were vastly stronger than any of the FF precons, Marvel percons were an absolute joke. You do not know what you are talking about.
>>98759269Universes within sets sell out everywhere all the time you really can't get louder than that
Personally I buy what looks neat
>>98759258>unless you actually do somethingyou mean like *gasp* telling wotc to stop hiding their women's midriffs? haha
>>98759277>EoE were vastly stronger Alright I got the information I needed so I'm done pretending and continuing this point. Thanks for doing the work for me, anon :)
What do you even do with this guy?>EldraziStoring up 50+ Mana is more for X spells than casting 10 drops.
>>98759294what about a 15 drop? tick tock
What do we think of this? I got two of them in a prerelease. Seems good in certain situations and decks that don't have board wipes, but it is expensive. The card draw early is nice, as could be the discard.
>>98759294More of a "in the 99" kinda guy he's getting insta slammed into my mono white eldrazi deck
>>98759342It's just Nevinyrral's Disk but now you have to hold up a bunch of mana to hold the board hostage
>>98759380Politically I think it can be interesting. When I got to play it in the prerelease it was an instant target for removal, and if it stayed around it prevented them from playing anything meaningful so I just pinged them to death with my creatures. I think it had potential to be pretty powerful in certain EDH decks.
>>98759380print more battles so I can run nevinyrral
>>98759360That is 100% of all colorless legendaries
>>98759342>weThe need zoomers have for consensus is disgusting
>>98759342Since we're posting questionable artifacts, I'll post my recent favorite
>>98757434Most dumb shit I've read today.
>>98758137But it hasnt improved the game, only sales. And only LOTR and FF.
>>98759562But you have read of me
>>98758210Yeah lets put Mickey and Pikachu in mtg.
>>98759342Extremely powerful as it doubles as a hand-smoother in the early game too.
>>98759566Magic had 30 years to improve itself and failed. It's time for UBchads to save your dying game.
>>98759572>PikachuThis but unironically cause I want more videos of people fist fighting over cards and that shit only happens with Pokefags.
>>98759592Who's got the heavy spiderman bags and how much do they pay you?
>>98759533goes great in Toph the First Metalbender
>>98759607Who got the racecar set so terrible that not even bagholders could be tricked into buying it?
>>98759608Does it? Why? I would have guessed you would want artifacts without tap abilities
>>98759592Magic was already a good game, UB hasnt changed anything gameplaywise. It only fills the pool of cards with generic unplayable legendary shit.
>>98759621I think if you make an Akira bike reference you should be hit in the most sensitive spot on your body, be it your balls if you got em or whatever the woman equivalent is. That shit needs to end YESTERDAY.
>>98759621NobodyBy your own definition lol dipshitAnd nobody is shilling for it either
>>98759626It's only good because you can keep using it's effect as long as no one destroys it and you keep earthbending it
>>98759628Oh and hybrid mana cards because circles don't fit in square holes so you end up with uneven color distribution
I like the old UB DnD precons before Baldur's Gate 3 ruined that shit. The Red/Black one is still pretty fun.
>>98759636I always forget it's dies or exiledWhat an ability
>>98759566WOTC very easily could have had their cake and eaten it too if they just did LOTR or FF but that would have taken restraint and some modicum of goodwill both of which they lack
>>98759292>I was merely pretending to be a retardOkay kid.
>>98759645>UB DnDThe D&D sets aren't UB. D&D has an official book for Ravnica. It's safe to say the two settings are merged at this point. I would say I want a Dark Sun mtg set but since they're fucking neutering Dark Sun they can fucking fuck off with pleasure.
Taking this to a new pod I was invited to.Is this build ready? What am I missing?

>>98759701Told you yesterday you need some ramp and a non-shuffing wheel to setup approach. why post again if you aren't going to listen to advice?
>>98759469I blame live streamers for that
>>98759713>naw dude I'll totally cast approach on turn 12 and manually draw 7 cards and win by turn 18lolHonestly dig through time is probably better than the wheel
>was playing gay kings>finally won a game>the dude next to me screams>THAT'S THE POWER OF PRIDEFucking hell man I hate playing in random lgs some times
Bots all went offline, huh?
>>98756699>furfag spammer is the one posting "queen of green" and shilling UBWhat a surprise! Fake thread, shan't use.
>>98759832nah that's actually funny
>>98759873Chuds are never funny, as a rule.
>quirky new colorless/artifact commander>look inside>$10000 worth of staples
>>98759845Shills clocked out
>>98759845no I'm still here but I still need to take an image of my new deck with Whiplash
Which card does the "art" suit better? I'm too torn myself.
>>98759435Depends if you're mister money bags. Traxos can be a pretty mean commander
>>98760047gravecrawler
>>98760047Cemetery, get to see it longer as an enchantment.
>>98760047make it Grave Pact instead
>>98760084I already have a gravepact.
>>98760088swap the art of that for tainted pact
>>98760100I could
I don't pay attention to the lore why is Jace suddenly heckin evil and problematic
>>98760116He's not evil.He's just insane.
>>98760116he pulled Urza
>>98759845Solved format, dead general. Simple as.
>>98760116Because heโs a straight white male.
>>987598454chan is a significantly less popular site than a few years ago.
>>98759360But I wanna run him as commander. Are there really no colorless x spells? I can only think of like, 3. Everflowing chalice (technically), astral cornicopea, and I think Kozilek's command.
38 days until Star Trek
>>98760261There's a bunch of artifacts that act as mana dumps im a big fan of this stupid thing and rings of brighthearth type cards
>>98760261There's plenty of colorless spells to dump mana into
>>98760294How do I best search for them on scryfall?
>>98760286As big of a trek fan as I am, I gotta say I'm not exactly looking forward to it. The commander party will probably be fun though
This nigga goes hard in mono white token decks.
>>98760286My most looked forward to set this year.
>>98760294I've never seen this card before lol>>98760206How did you solve having fun with binder fodder?
>>98760307Me too, can't wait for this game to die.Maybe I can finally buy the proxies for my Canadian highlander deck after everyone else stops playing.
>>98760361>can't wait for this game to die.I've been seeing this board say this for 10 years now.
>>98760288What are some other mana sink lands? I really don't know how I would search for them on scryfall.
>>98760395It's probably not what you're looking for, but Mystifying Maze is pretty expensive but can absolutely hose some decks from attacking you late game.
>>98760318It was in one of those stupid 100 dollar commander decks
every set makes me stronger...
>>98758923Premodern and commander with your best bros on occasion is the only way to enjoy this game
I've always had a soft spot for these clockwork critters
>>98760456cute :)
>>98760116actually Jace did nothing wrong
>>98756830this has been debunked. duel commander is a homosexual format (a commander format that bans the banner card, Sol Ring, is inherently transexual). HOPE THIS HELPS!!
>>98756859why would you not go to pre-release? been playing with these cards for nearly a week now and opening packs all week. every LGS that deals with GลtC (the 4chan approved nick for wizards, make quick note of the accent over the "O" changing the acronym pro-nunce) has had the deck and packs and even some allow trading FRA for FRA singles before Friday.
