>>98759280This looks so much better colored
>>98759611I still enjoy the WAR trailers and play on RoR. Good shit, nothing like Waaaghing as a Choppa and going into pvp.
>>98759705>play on RoRI gave it a go but ultimately didn't stick to it. I'm still mad WoW got as popular as it did and every MMO after copied their soulless quest design and game mechanics
>>98759711The gameplay is ok if you find a class you enjoy, but mostly I treat it like a way to see Fantasy maps/environments/locations "in person" so to speak.
>>98759711>>98759725The whole point of RoR/WHO was the pvp. No one did the quests outside of PQ's. You were supposed to level through pvp in scenarios and world pvp.
>>98759725Yeah I get that. To me it just felt like a Warhammer Fantasy skin on top of WoW, and as someone who always preferred the quests of Runescape or combat like Tera that was just no fun. The "core" felt rotten and no class would make it okay. If I want to play in Fantasy maps/locations I've got Mountain Blade and the Old Realms mod
>>98759749I get that, my go-to MMO was City of Heroes. AoR/RoR was mostly just for the Warhammer Fantasy flavor and experience.
>>98759742From a gameplay perspective that's definitely true, but for me reading the quests and looking at the environments back in the day was my introduction to Warhammer, so I still have a lot of fondness for them. Still remember helping a guy in the chaos area get a nurgling out of his armpit, and collecting teef for orcs. It was a really cool game that did a lot of things right, and I still blame EA almost entirely for fucking it up.The collector's edition orc warboss mini still leads my greenskins in battle now.
>>98759777>The collector's edition orc warboss mini still leads my greenskins in battle now.NTA but same here!
On the subject of flying castles, this Lustrian pyramid would actually be an incredible terrain mood piece and wouldn't disrupt gameplay or playability because it would sit above the table

Question to people deeper into the lore than me: do dwarf priests get any kind of powers that would make them somewhat unique on the table or are they just normal dwarfs?
>>98761515Normal Dwarfs with runic tools. In Daemonslayer there is a dwarf priestess fighting but she gets killed by the Bloodthirster
>>98761515They get the ability to make temporary runes with the specific runes dependent on which ancestor god they focus on
>>98761521>>98761528Hmm, what if they became a unit with like 100 points for runes but the choice of the god would dictate what units they can join (mostly doom priest joining slayers while the others can't) and what runes they can take (doom priest can only take weapon runes, forge priest can only take armor runes and hearth priest can only take talisman runes) with the ability to grant the benefit of one of their non-master runes to their whole unit for a turn but using that rune up, so for example a forge priest could use up his rune of stone to grant armor save rerolls to his unit for a turn.
>>98761515Just normal dwarfs who get to cast and dispel spells by using runes instead of innate magical powers. If you were to try and expand the types of rune priests you could try to make up new runes and specialisations into the various forms of runecraft.>this runepriest is the best at making and enchanting armor and equipment and buffs its own combat capabilities, and the combat capabilities of nearby heroes and units>this runepriest is the best at unmaking spells, banishing demons, spooking ghosts, and shutting down the enemy's enchantments>this runepriest inscribes runes in the fucking ground to reshape the environment, move friendly and enemy units alike, and even make or unmake hills, walls and ravines>this runepriest crafts symbols of power to carry on high, they uplift and reinvigorate the spirits and tired bodies of their allies and instill shame and dread in the enemies >this runepriest comes from the older runic traditions of the norse dwarfs and is closer to a lightnings-spitting sword-swinging sorcerous barbarian than a priest >this runepriest comes from the more progressive schools of runecrafts and their applications on machines and advanced contraptions>this runepriest is actually just a fucking gnome that uses both runes and genuine spellcasting, alchemy, illusionism and elementalism>this runepriest uses forbidden runes and terrible methods, he's not allowed amongst normal dawi, and you're not allowed to know what he does, you can't have him
>>98761354Ah yes, blood demon, frog demon, ostrich daemon, and pan
>>98761062Yeah, no, I’m starting to formulate the plot. The best part is that the campaign structure feels easy to conjure.Campaign name>In the Thrall of the Mountain KingFirst arc>Do No Harm>The PCs go to Saltakan (butchering the name, I’m outside working - it’s the failing port in I think Ostland) to pay respects to a brilliant physician that touched each of their lives. He leaves them each a piece of a puzzle hidden in an heirloom and asks them to pay their final respects at a tavern in town. They learn there’s a conspiracy with the Physicians Guild in Salzenmund which culminates in them discovering Festus the Leechlord has been advising the use of troll flesh for woundsSecond Arc>Here Be Monsters>PCs learn the troll meat was supplied by some hunters in Middenheim, cue both urban and Drakwald shenanigansThat’s what I’ve got so far, butchering the names and specifics but they’re all things I know are in either Sea of Claws or Salzenmund.
>>98762301Do Trolls live in dense forests? It seems like one of the few biomes where they are scarce.I guess you can't just make the trolls come from the Schadensumpf
>>98762333Trolls are everywhere! They could come from the Middle Mountains, which gives extra hooks with the Brass Keep and Goblins.
>>98762360True, I just saw you say Drawkwald and assumed you would make the PCs go southwest from Middenheim rather than east
>>98762360>>98762333The hook after the monster hunters is that they’re getting paid in very rare herbs which are revealed to be from the Bile Lands, which takes them to Erengrad and then Troll Country. The Mountain Halls of Throgg makes for a very folkloric finale, he’s even got a quartz throne (and princes and princesses as hostages!)
>>98762333>>98762381If its an issue, just say there's a cave in the woods, problem solved
>>98762367The Drakwald is just so iconic of Middenland that I need to find ways to use it. Could even be unrelated to the whole Throgg business; the campaign takes place as Toddy’s getting out of his dead wife funk and will take his first expedition into the Drakwald, leading to Khazrak and that bloody feud. Getting the Graf’s admiration is always useful for authorizing expeditions of their own.
>>98762394You’re falling into a common GM trap; just because there’s cool stuff in the campaign area doesn’t mean you HAVE to use it. If you need to use the Drakwald than use it while they’re going from Salzenmund to Middenheim.
cover reveal for the Wreckers Point book i think this was announced like three years ago now>‘There’s not much there... other than backwards folk, raiders, smugglers, wreckers, goblins, elves in the woods, weird old ruins… alright, take that back. There is stuff there, but nothing you’d want to see if you have your head screwed on. It’s a wild, remote hinterland and you can keep it.’>Ida Haufmann, Beeckerhoven merchant>Far to the north and west of the Empire, Wrecker’s Point is a forlorn and windswept headland, buffeted by storms and spray from the Sea of Claws. A few smallholders attempt to eke out a living from the soil, while adventurous sorts chase rumours of lost treasure to find, ancient sites to explore, and bounties to win by bringing dangerous outlaws to justice.>The Jutone Riding, as the area is also known, is a border region, defined by the Sea of Claws to the north, the mysterious Laurelorn Forest to the south, and the fetid marshes of the Wasteland to the west. Its isolated nature makes it a haven for pirates, cutthroats, and all manner of shady characters.>https://cubicle7games.com/en_EU/blog/wreckers-point-cover-revealConsidering this is done by the same writer as the Salzenmund book, I do have some hopes for this one

Assembled a few more Gors for my warherd
>greyposting The state of this slow ass general
Hey, fellow peasants, I'm looking for help with my Halloween one shot (or 3 session scenario depending on the length)I'm working on a murder mystery scenario for 2e, available careers are noble state related (kennelmaster, bailiff, servant, etc)During a Noble party celebrated during Geheimnisnacht (they "celebrate" with a mutant hunt on the surrounding forest and during the night they have a banquet), a snow storm hits the state and they all stay inside the walled state however someone kills the Master and the killer is amongst the invited guests or staff (maybe because the Master was planning something sinister and the killer, at the end, it's technically a hero?)So (WIP from this point) besides the storm, there's a horde of Beastmen on its way (a wendigo perhaps?) and they have to resolve the mystery because 1) despite being an asshole it was the players "beloved" (depends on the player) master or at least the one paying them and he was supposed to pay them by the end of the festivities, 2) they have to resolve this before the Beastmen come and overrun the place, if they or anyone else try to leave before that the invited Witch Hunter or Imperial authority like a local Roadwarden or a really loyal Man-at-Arms will execute themHe is not guilty for various reasons but cannot solve this on his own cuz he was incapacitated (he brings the news of the Beastmen horde or he was hurt during the hunt, depends on the type of career he is)Also even if they could sneak past this individual they wouldn't get far with the storm and because, huh, IT'S FUCKING GEHEIMNISNACHT3) I'm doubtful if I should add a "hidden treasure" element, you know, a red herring for the players, maybe that's why the Master was killed but also something to tempt them to try to get it before everything gets fucked
>>98764456>a snow storm hits the stateisn't that rather early in the year for that? Like if some place in Germany got covered in a freak snowstorm on halloween that would be pretty weird. The closest thing to Wenigo in Warhammer isn't really Beastmen, but something like a Mourngul, so maybe change it to some undead threat that rose due to Geheimnisnacht.I'm not really sure what you're asking for help on anon sounds like you made a basic Who Dunnit Scenario, and so long as you make it a fair mystery for your players there shouldn't be any problems. On point 3, including a least one red herring is probably a good idea, but maybe not a hidden treasure since I think most players would expect a double subversion there and it ends up being something completely worthless and just ignore it
>>98764425I think a lot of posters lost interest in the thread, considering the absolute state of it recently.
>>98764667>recentlyI was here about two, three years ago now? Despite being low population there was rampant shitposting, like the dipshit telling everyone they're in the wrong general. Slower generals can't take that sort of abuse, people will just be turned away and not bother with the thread. So no it's not just "recent" and yes I'm not really surprised
Are cannons just protected from other cannons on hills since the crunch change? If I read it right, the cannonball always crunches into the hill much like it would a builder or monsterous creature/behemoth.
>>98765001It's protected from the roll, RAW, but not if your opponent manages to bullseye your cannon.
What is the most underdog faction, where you basically play as scum? And how good is said faction? As someone who is interested but likely won't ever play.
>>98765431Skaven?
>>98765841Are they underdogs? They have nukes, machine guns and frankenstein monsters.
>>98765856You can just run infantry if you think their warpstone gizmos are too much, but yes they are one of the scrappiest, weakest and horde armies.
>>98765856On average they're a pathetic bunch, if you mean on a faction level then anything "good" - elves and dwarfs are strong on average but in decline barely holding onto scraps of their old power and humans are rising but always one major chaos, orc or skaven invasion from having their civilization destroyed and becoming enslaved.
>>98765431Skaven, goblins and beastmen are scum and reasonable underdogs despite being pests.Skaven are kind of shit in the game while goblins and beastmen are pretty good, mainly thanks to fanatics and good magic.
>>98764425Post your own fully painted minis then
>can't get to 100 posts in 1,5 dayNo wonder GW scraped this game
I regret not getting the 7/8e plastic dark elves now. Seems there's plenty of the older metals around but not the newer plasticsOn the bright side by the time Slop Workshop bring them back I'll probably have grown out of my edgy goth phase.
>>98766750I wonder why, are they sitting on the legend factions until they have a fresh stock ready or is it some legal bullshit between GW studios?
Are TOW models the same scale as WFB models? I have a few plastic oldies lying around and I was wondering if I should grab a handful of Cathay infantry to keep them company or if I'll be filtered by the usual scalecreep BS.
>>98766844For the most part yes they did increase the base size for basic infantry to 25mm
>>98766844some are in scale, some are weirdly bigger
>>98766883I can never get over how ugly stormcast are as a faction.
>>98766912I have made peace with them since they killed fatcasts, but unfortunately they're wrong at a fundamental level.Fortunately there's an apocalypse between us and them that only time travelling shenanigans can cross and gw still doesn't dare having those.
>>98766881>>98766883Does that mean Seraphons are bigger than Lizardmen? Or TOW Tomb Kings/Bretonnians bigger than WFB Tokb Kings/Bretonnians?
>>98766920Lizardmen are a monstrous race, so you're going to find greater differences: the basic saurians are more or less the same height but bulkier, so harder (but not impossible) to fit in a regiment, kroxigors got bigger but are still going to fit fine on squares because they're mostly vertical mass, the cavalry is where shit escalated fast, the replacement for cold ones are basically the size of the old carnosaur and even if you were to fit them on a 25x50 or 30x60 base they would be way longer than that, which was already an issue with older cold ones and especially dark elf ones, so the advice here is to make the rear bases of the unit empty and each model effectively count as 2 models, by contrast the new skink cavalry is closer to the old cold ones in size.Kroak because a fuckhueg centerpiece and the chair for the normal slann got fatter, but those fly so you can technically have them fit on an old base with little work.bretonnian foot knights are one infamous instance of new models being nonsensically taller, the good news is that nobody cares about that unit anyway, while size differences between mounted cavalry models are harder to gauge so easier to dismiss. The new tomb kings do look taller but most of that is an impression from the fact their proportions have been redone, so they have smaller heads for taller more slender bodies, but still human sized all in all.
>>98762930>>98763744As much as I find undead bret conversions really cool, is there ever a real example of Mousillon being a mobilized undead army? To my knowledge its just a cursed and really shitty region.Even the affair of the false grail wasn’t vampire related, the false grail seems to be some generic evil artifact, separate from the bloody grail as far as we know.I feel like a lot of it comes from TWW where Mousillon is used as an esrly game undead foe. In reality I don’t believe it has any permanent governance and is basically just Mordheim in Bretonnia.
New runes when GW!
>>98766948Appreciate the detailed answer. I think Seraphons are overdetailled anyway and I trully hate the modern "dinosaurs are birds" design they went with.
>>98767020>"dinosaurs are birds"I do prefer the more lizard-like/fantasy/outdated designs too but I think they went in the best direction they possibly could: all the other dinosaurs are still scaled and not feathered, the only exception is the skinks mount, which specifically has protofeathers instead of normal feathers, and for which the alternatives were smaller raptors, but horned, which is a bit redundant with the larger raptors, or terror birds, which are even more distant design wise, or the jurassic park frilled dilophosaur, which is intellectually owned, so making a smaller frilled slightly bird-like raptor feels perfect, especially since they also connected them with their feathered serpent god as an extra measure. The one thing I'm holding against the new lizard designs is that they cleaned them up way too much, they have little to no bones, skulls or tusks decorating them and taking away those elements and the scaled shield for the normal saurus robs them of what were ideal surfaces for different colours on the model, while now people are driven to paint the minis with fewer colors, with shields almost always as a solid slab of gold on minis that already have plenty of other places for gold parts.
>>98767056Reminds me of a White Dwarf article teasing the coming or actual release of the 6th edition Lizardmen armybook. As a poorfag I lost hours of my life daydreaming on those pictures.Do we have a WD trove? I did a quick search and it's going to be somewhere from WD 251 to 290.

A bit closer to a typical D&D style adventure RPG compared to WFRP's grittier, crunchier and more investigative style. As for why.. I'd guess GW wanted to have a clear tie in RPG for the battle game. >>98768131wait a moment, let me read in the mind of the chaos writer who will redo the new lore for the great war against chaos>actually the point of the great war wasn't to destroy the world or the empire, because asavar knew he wasn't the true everchosen and that the future destroyer of the world would be cooler (of which you can buy a miniature now! just go play aos please!), and that he knew his role was to pave the way for him (belakor told him so, go buy his model too!)>so it was all secretly a diversion to enact a ritual that would bring the chaos gods closer to the world and end the drought of chaos that was defining chaos in the past few centuries (and create the scenario for belakor to possess a guy and rape a woman to birth archaon, go buy the novels!)>but asavar kul is the only chaos warrior who wants that, as all the others either don't know what it means to bring the gods closer to the world, or know that if that happens the path of chaos undivided is undermined and the people of the north and beyond will be taken and enslaved by one god or another as their sole toys>which means that asavar kul wants that for special reasons, like revenge against his father or other father figure or something, while the cooler engra who is a true champion of undivided and a chad who don't need to god wants the warriors of the north to stay as they are, so when he gets what asavar is doing he tries to stop him>he fails and the rest is history, but somehow engra survive and ends up totes liking archaon because he too professes the path of undivided (please, I beg you, buy the miniature)

>>98768312you know it in your heart>it will be revealed that asavar's tribes comes from the eastern people and once belonged to the cathayan empire but were cut off and abandoned when they erected their great wall just south of where they resided and helped fend off chaos>asavar believes their people have been denied salvation for the interests of a cruel and uncaring tyrant and that only the chaos gods care, and will give him the way to doom of cathay if he does what they tell him>attacking the empire and enacting the ritual is just something necessary to attack cathay from afar, destabilise its compass or as base of operations to launch an attack from the west, if they weren't stopped >also he's dragon blooded, descended from the dragon child who fell to chaos, and the dragon child fell to chaos because his son asavar did in the first place

>>98768131>why would Engra Deathsword, literally, backstab Asavar Kul on the eve of battle? We dont know who backstabbed Kul, might have been engra or might have been literally anyone else>but why!Because chaos isnt a team sport. No one on the chaos side cares about "chaos" as a side, they care about themselves and their position in the hierarchy. Theres no point in chaos winning if theyre not getting a promotion in the process, and stabbing the guy above you to death is one of the easiest ways to get a promotion. The chaos lord is dead, long live the chaos lord! Also it wasnt so much "on the eve of battle" as "in the thick of battle", i.e the perfect moment to backstab someone if all you care about is stabbing them in the back and not whatever greater schemes they may have had in play. The chaos (literal, not the cosmic force) of it all really helps with any betrayals you may be planning. >What is there to gain when its meant to be the final big push into the empire? What if it isnt, what if youre going to lose and this guy is the guy to blame? What if it is, but youre confident you can get the dub without kul (or maybe even while taking his place!)What if you dont care, and your personal status, vendetta, or attempt at divine favor are far more important than the promise of infinite empire villages to burn?"Warriors of Chaos" are not a kingdom or nation, theyre general descriptor for any ambitious sociopath who tries to get immortality by killing enough people to make satan notice him. It is, by design and inherent nature, filled with unstable and unreasonable people with grandiose dreams and very high estimations of themselves and their own abilities.

>>98769443It’s not regurgitation it’s ignorance. On your part specifically
>>98768934>Chaos still has command structures and championsYes, in the sense that an individual champion has sycophants or those that he can bully into obeying him, and some of those have followers of their own (once again either sycophants or people bullied into it). There is no central loyalty in chaos except to the self, 99% of chaos warriors are there for the shit chaos gives them, not because theyre philosophically engaged or interested in chaos as some cosmic truth. That tzeench champion doesent think tzeench is the morally correct option, he thinks tzeench offers the best employment benefits. Its an army of the ultimate ranian individualist only out for themselves, where each guy thinks they can (and actually kinda realistically COULD) be the guy in charge, a collection of temporarily embarassed chaos lords following the current biggest guy for as long as they get shit from doing so (enough to outweigh their ego and selfish inclinations). >They also need to have some kind of organisation to get the proverbial ball running.Anon, the thing that makes everchosen significant is that theyre the guys who get the ball running. Thats the thing that makes them so dangerous. Its not that theyre such badass fighters (although its chaos, so thats sorta expected), its that theyre the guys who are somehow able to get some semblance of coherent organization out of the forces of chaos, which are otherwise fighting each other more than anyone else. The favor of the chaos gods helps in this regard, but if divine favor was enough to ensure loyalty no chaos god would ever get insubordination, the chaos gods dont care if you kill their champions as long as youre interesting, and every champion of chaos knows this.

>>98770101>>98770113People like slop, and AOS does have some cool high fantasy models like Gloomspite.
>>98770101I think some of the ideas in the obr faction are pretty cool, like how they can only be demoted, which can lead to all sorts of backstabs and plots within their upper echelons. Them also acting as a protection racket for mortals is pretty fun. Then there are the libertarian dwarfs who fled roads and age of consent to the skies...
>>98770157Warhounds are an amazing screen and give you lots of control over charges. Not sure about that list in particular, but in Wolves of the Sea, they're invaluable to keep your Berserkers and Khorne Huscarls from getting baited by chaff; I'd imagine they'll be just as important for the Khorne Chosen Knights. For the points they definitely have a use.I'll have to agree with the warriors, they're only good as an anvil, and even then you can get something similar out of sword n board marauders for less points. The chariot, too, is only really good as a character mount, particularly on wizards that benefit a lot from the extra wounds, toughness and 360° vision.

The reason RTS units and MOBA characters focus so much on making stuff stand out is A; they're on a fucking screen, B; that screen is usually half-hidden behind explosions and particle effects, and C; modern gamers are drooling fuckwitted little babby-minds who need six pointer icons, a voiceover, and a glowing fart trail to figure out they have to continue progressing forward along the completely fucking linear corridor in order to reach their next objective. >>98773118I have to ask: did you have yourself lobotomised as some weird fetish thing, or were you born this fucking stupid?Merely having characters be the same size as the infantry they lead which they are SUPPOSED to all represent the same size people does not turn units into a "morass of interchangable featureless blobs" you disingenuous boy-buggering faggot. If you're too much of an autistic pussy to even speak to your opponent buy yourself a pair of glasses to improve your fucking moleman vision so you can see the models properly or something.
Newbie here. Are boxes like pic related viable for 6th/7th edition? I have no interest in TOW but I've got a bunch of army books and the two rule books for 6th/7th edition WHFB. From what I understand the base size increased in these new boxes but other than that this should be a decent buy, shouldn't it?
>>98773592yes, these models and units existed in basically all previous editions.
Post your dudes and their fluff you have for them.
>>98774115I love your beasts brother
>>98773377>Seems like a faux pas to upload 2 different versions of the same place, without great necessity.I dont think so. Simply include the left as the default, and the right as "original depiction from 1994 foldable map". No such thing as too much information (within reason).
>>98773542>Merely having characters be the same size as the infantry they lead which they are SUPPOSED to all represent the same size people does not turn units into a "morass of interchangable featureless blobs" you disingenuous boy-buggering faggot.I understand you are the product of a failed abortion, but having characters blend into a unit is exactly that. Which is why characters get more detail and are often slightly larger. Models have to be visually readable when on the tabletop, because as much as a nogame faggot like you may go on about "oh just ask whether the third guy from the left in that unit is actually a captain" a well made miniature game does not require that.

Decided that instead of picking between a chaos lord or chaos champion on demonic steed, im just going to run both.

I look at the foot knights and something feels off but I can't quite articulate it. It's not that "new is bad", but something about their proportions or the bulky armor feels off, can anybody help me putting it into words, preferably objectively and not just rant about nu-GW?

>>98776088the pieces of the kit are designed separately from one another and meant to go with any other part, which means that gorgets are way larger than they would have to be if they wanted to look good (since helmets are also larger since they're fantasy helmets AND still have some heroic "proportions") and this neutrality of bits also means that the main bodies have an unnatural plastic stiffness that's not usually a problem for models who stand still in regimented units but is most visible here because the guys are sculpted striding forward and wearing cloths and leathersother than that it's the usual fantasy bullshit of thick as fuck trims and armor parts that are attached to clothes instead of following historical designs, but if you are into warhammer chances are you have already overlooked these things more than once already, so it's definitely the gorgets and stiff clothsit's not actually that much, by comparison with some other stuff gw has done these are almost innocuous, but as one of the few and first stuff tow got they were scrutinized a lotIf I were to have this kit I'd use the shields, swords and helmets on the knights of the realms on steeds and use the older shit bits for these dudes' bodies instead.
>>98774445Hmm... I'll think about it, and perhaps even wait for when the inevitable Kislev models & fluff comes out; and maybe even a map update for the TOW website. For now I'll just upload the WD one. >picrel did further editing to look as best as I could make it
You sure those are 650?I'm getting 545 in owb, you can still add some stuff. The ring of ruin is a bit too much for BM, even post nerf.Wolves are pretty good, but they can also be somewhat fragile. I'd swap the 2x2 to a single unit of 3, just to have a little more survivability. You can use the points you save from the ring + wolf to get a small unit of zerkers with flail and fortitude, their T5 is really good in BM, most things will wound them or 5s or 6s.Horsemen are great at covering ground fast, but aren't exactly great fighters, if you need more firepower, consider swapping them for Flail+Fortitude Huscarls, which aren't as agile but have really good offensive and defensive capabilities. Can't score, though. If you've got points leftover, a block of 10+ marauders (15+ ideally) with sword and board + fortitude will also make for a low cost anvil. They don't do much in combat but they'll hold the point.8/10, props for not including the gigantic spawn.

>>98769525Chaos has plenty of true believers who think chaos is the morally superior option. Norsca breeds an entire culture of it. Read the Were of Fjirgard, the Norscans even revere chaos spawn, the spawn are kept in caves to keep them calm and the wives and family of them visit them where it's unclear if they know what's going on, but don't fight them. They see the gods as patron deities of the norse>"Then I pity you and all the world," said Haubr earnestly, "that of all the races of Men, the gods favour we Norse alone."

See if you guys can help me. We're two friends playing our first TOW games and a couple of things came up yesterday>I shot with my sea guard against a unit of 5 undead wolves. Killed 4 out of 5. Do they take panic test? Since they're necromantic undead>a unit of zombies charged against the flank of swordmasters. Only a couple of swordmasters could attack the zombies since they were already fighting skeletons on their front. Swordmasters win the combat by 2. How many undead die? 2 skeletons and 2 zombies or 2 between skeletons and zombies?>Same situation, swordmasters end up killing the skeletons. Since the zombies don't flee, the swordmasters are stuck being attacked on their flank until they finish off the zombies right? If it was a different unit, the zombies could flee or give ground and the swordmasters could reform so that their front could fight against the zombies front
>>98777896This is complex in some areas due to combat bonuses but to answer:>Dire wolvesThey are undead so are immune to psychology. They keep going.>combat example 2 and 3Take a leadership test for both undead units and you see by how much they fail or succeed. If they roll high, more die/collapse. Check undead rules. Your last example, they must give ground if they lost at a minimum, giving you a chance to follow up.
>>98778062aaaah fuck I totally missed the 'give ground' thing on the unbreakable rule. The way I'm understanding it is they don't take leadership tests but automatically lose a number of models depending on how much they lost the combat by. So in example 2 do they still take a leadership test?

>>98777170Ah, I missed some of your upgrades, you didn't have as many points leftover. The ring is good, at times maybe too good for friendly games of BM and will probably result in an arms race where it'll become an auto include for most players around you. This list is closer to what I'd probably run.You could remove one Berserker regiment if you really want to go back to the 2x2 wolf units and sprinkle some toys on the rest of your guys. You could also swap both berserker units for a block of 15 marauders with shield and fortitude, it all depends on whether you prefer msu offensive potential or a defensive block with some combat res.I don't suggest full command at this level because you often don't really benefit from it, just take what you really need.Awoo squad [650 pts]Warhammer: The Old World, Warriors of Chaos, Wolves of the Sea, Battle MarchExalted Sorcerer, Light armour, Mark of Chaos [Mark of Chaos Undivided], Wizard [Level 1 Wizard], General, Chaos Steed, Favour of the Gods, Daemonology - 1115 Chaos Warhounds, Claws and fangs (Hand weapons), Vanguard - 355 Chaos Warhounds, Claws and fangs (Hand weapons) - 306 Marauder Tribe Berserkers, Flails, Light armour, Ambushers, Unnatural Fortitude - 726 Marauder Tribe Berserkers, Flails, Light armour, Ambushers, Unnatural Fortitude - 725 Marauder Horsemen, Flails, Light armour, Shields, Throwing axes, Chaotic Cult [None], Ambushers, Formation [Open Order], Unnatural Fortitude - 853 Skin Wolves, Hand weapons (Claws and fangs) - 1355 Marauder Tribe Huscarls, Flails, Light armour, Javelins, Mark of Chaos [Mark of Chaos Undivided], Unnatural Fortitude - 110
>>98778112Yes, regardless they give ground if they lose combat but how many they lose is based on the LD test.
