>>98767372Fine, we can have AC, but there are still plenty of stubborn religious types on Earth who use AD to determine the date that hold sway over the Terramedia Chronology Directorate, the ones in charge of running the most expansive records of human history to date, and their arguments can get heated to the point that they neglect to record the events happening outside of the immediate Earth Sphere if a colonial is too crass reporting it. Thus, it is an open secret that most Earth records are published using the old Anno Domini system by the TCD only to be altered to the Ante Colonia the moment they hit Mars for wider circulation across the solar system, and the busy bodies who don't like it don't dislike it enough to book a trip to Mars just to stop it for the sake of colonials who largely neither know nor care about the significance behind the abbreviation...
The Cold War "ended" via a limited nuclear exchange between China and Russia in the 70s.China detonated a nuclear car bomb in Vladivostok which received an immediate response via a nuke to a base in Manchuria. It's reported that the responsible apparatchiks were defenestrated by their own colleagues but to this day the details are unknown.Afterwards panicked phone calls prevented further escalation and both countries commemorate the day.

>>98767448>>98767448>>98767476No traces of inhabitants have been found yet. There are no remains or relics of any advanced species or civilization besides the structures themselves. Except those aren't ruins at all. They're the remains of a planet-spanning superorganism, or something that looked like one from the outside. In reality, the structures seem to have been built by microorganisms, more like an incredibly advanced coral reef than a conventional organism. They effectively reshaped and "modeled" the entire planet into an environment optimized for their own habitation.Joint expedition is planned to map the interior of one of several boreholes leading deep into the crust. Sensors indicate anomalous isotope decay and what might be traces of activity down there. Samples of dust and strange metal-carbon nanotube lattices have been found around the boreholes, with similar particles occasionally being ejected from them. What exactly is producing them remains a matter of speculation.
The primary energy generator in the USSR and west is a Small Nuclear Reactor called a Fermiator. Fermiators are standardized plug and play devices designed to be near-idiot proof black boxes that can drive everything from a neighborhood to a starship.Communist China prefers Methanol Fuel Cells.

>there's a fourth faction, a breakaway civilization of scientists on the Saturn moon Titan
>>98768429
Why 2099? If you want an interesting solar system spanning human civilization, 75 years from now is too little time to get much of interest, even if you fudge things around space exploration a bit post Gulf of Tonkin. Building up the kind of infrastructure that would make for an interesting scifi setting would take centuries, not decades.
>>98768813retrofuturism
>>98768813It's not 77 years from now it's 135~ years from the height of the space race.
>>98768754>the breakaway civilization has its roots in the nuclear exchange between China and Russia >a number of ex-Beatniks are part of it too >their main achievement isn't a super weapon (though they have those in spades) or unparalleled drive systems (though they have that too) but a unified didactic, cultural, neurological & psychiatric science of consciousness called Noomstrics (Nous= reason/awareness/consciousness. Metric = measuring). >This allows them, amongst other things, to assess everything an individual has the potential to be good at as well as the design of memorable and intuitive teaching materials >Every individual on Titan is perpetually cross-trained and taught to engage with things related to his specialty >Titan technology is almost aggressively user-friendly and modular with manuals that read more like miniature courses on the entire background of the system, all indexed to allow for the precise reading order appropriate for your question In game terms this is how you give players the ability to access very powerful things at a price. A USSR or US device might cost significantly less than one from Titan but it'll not be particularly user-friendly. Titan is a breakaway civilization of scientists which means it has to be technologically self sustaining. Making a college professor sweep floors isn't the hardest thing in the world but even a Nobel prize winning chemist might struggle fixing a vacuum cleaner unless it's meant to be easy

>>98769412Should definitely be a third party, yeah.
>>98771311>>98769412I was thinking a sort of Imperial Senate (similar to the planned Imperial Federation that the British Empire discussed in depth before WWI)Chancellor acts as heads of state - mostly ceremonial (usually held in rotation by either the US president or the King). Each of the member states gets a bit of home rule for local affairs but things like war, colonisation, trade and monetary policy are decided by the imperial/federal senate which has elected members from each nation (which I see as basically 5eyes with one or two colonies and/ro random commonwealth states) - the AAF as a unified state has a much greater identity off Earth as it does on Earth (where people are more tied to their old nation states).

>Fourth Chinese RepublicBecause the US doesn't intervene in Vietnam there is less friction between the PRC and the west, Mao's Cultural Revolution still occurs but is met with greater resistance from the Army. Liu, Deng, and Peng as well as their allies in Beijing are able to resist the initial purges and are better positioned to deal with the 1967 Seizure of Power. The PLA in this timeline suppresses the uprisings leading to a much more limited success for the Gang of Four. This limited success leads to an earlier opening of the country and capitalisation. It is alleged the CIA intervened heavily but the US and later AAF have denied this.In 1997 the AAF arranged for the Second Republic and Third Republic (Taiwan and PRC though which is second and which is third is a debate that still occurs) to merge, in exchange for Hong Kong remaining under AAF administration. This creates the Fourth Chinese Republic - and leads to intense anti-AAF sentiment from the former Taiwanese.
Since we have basic lore for the three superpowers how intense should the cold war be? Both on earth and in space?Do the curtain and wall still stand? How often do they sabotage each other colonies? Due to intensive sabotage campaigns between the Soviets, Chinese and Anglo-Americans throughout the 2000s and 2010s which led to several failures to launch and catastrophic in-orbit accidents, the Republic of Indonesia unexpectedly became the first nation to land a manned mission on Mercury in 2022. Even while Indonesia became increasingly dysfunctional throughout the 21st century due to an increasingly erratic climate leading to mass crop failures and excess deaths, the eagle of Pancasila still flies resolutely over the Mines of Mercury. By the dawn of the 22nd century, the so-called Bantung-colonists grow increasingly restless over their perceived role as the eternal cash cows of the intrasolar Nusantaran community. The situation has only gotten worse since the 2097 monsoon season which has rendered the crucial Biak Island Spaceport inoperable for 15 months, all while the First Planet comes increasingly under the scrutiny of the AéroHuai Franco-Chinese mining concern.
In 2089 the United Nations gensec P. M. Diallo spearheaded the foundation of the UN-backed "Dyson Development Corporation" created as part of the "Humanitarian Centenial Project." The corporation is a stakeholder-led joint venture with the goal of building a Dyson ring around the solar system and solving the intrasolar energy crisis before it can even begin. Sadly, the initiative has received only milquetoast support from the current superpowers and seems to be doomed to a death of a thousand cuts. Currently a few UN-sponsored solar Infrastruktur factories in Xanthe Terra and a Phobosian orbital yard earmarked for the scheme remain the only tangible results of the scheme.

"Funcan" (Fungal Textured Canned Product) also known as Full Scam, Don Quixote or Pink Plight is an emulsion of fungal protein, hydrogenated vegetable oils, flavor essences, trace minerals and various salts formed into a block of something approximating luncheon meat. It was pioneered as a way for colonies to make their own food and serves as the backbone of many independent spacers diets. The original trademark was held by Hormel but they let it expire and it's since become a generic term.Debate rages HEAVILY on whether it's good, acceptable or horrendous especially compared to actual luncheon meat but culturally it means you're either on the frontier or really down on your luck.People have definitely learned how to be creative with the stuff.

There is an extremist religious movement known as the Returners. They were started by the captain of the first manned vessel to reach trans-Plutonian distance from Earth, who claimed - along with his subordinates - to have received a divine revelation beamed directly into their minds. Their general ideology holds that mankind was never intended to leave Earth and is falling deeper into sin as a result. Their public facing aspect mostly has to do with Earthbound charity and environmentalist organizations, but they are heavily suspected of funding and supplying personnel in terrorist acts across settled space.

Alcohol in pouches nicknamed "polish" is a common grey market trade good. It's highly contentious whether it's pronounced "Polish" like the nationality or "polish" like the detergent.Polish is commonly created from biomethane which is catalytically transformed into ethanol.Since one of the predominant sources of that in space is blackwater and food waste streams it's also referred to as Dumpster Dram, Doodoo Gin and Shitvodka though that doesn't keep people from indulging especially when there's nothing else.

Luckily for the majority of space dwellers at least in the inner solar system beef from cows that are raised in the O'Neil cylinders is available at a price that even the average person can afford a small amount at least a few times a year. A limited form of time travel was discovered by accident by Universal studios where you can only temporarily bring things from the past to today via an astronomical amount of energy. They used it to clandestinely collect dino dna build Jurassic park on a giant solar powered space station. The whole thing went tits up when the dinosaurs predictably escaped and Universal went bankrupt and the tech was lost. the station is still in orbit with dinosaurs running amuck. Officially agreed to be a no go zone do to its danger, but the powers that be still occasionally attempt to raid it to find the secret to the now lost time travel technology, and it always goes about as well as anything involving dinosaurs and hunts for miraculous technology...

>>98795908But we know how to make roman concrete. They used seawater, which lead to some funky reactions that left chunks of lime unreacted that act as a kinda self healing agent when wet from rain.I think the reason we don't use it is because it's brittle and isn't as cheap as the stuff we use with rebar.

The entire setting is on the edge of a borderline apocalyptic economic bust that'll make expansion an unreasonable waste of funds and even supporting colonies into a risky, high cost venture. One of the main sources of conflict is the reaction of Earth and its colonies to a mix of 'Good fucking luck out there' and the rise of political parties that support the two spiralling extremes of 'Good fucking luck out there' and 'Who the fuck needs Earth anyway?'
We didn't really figure out biological immortality yet but organ cloning, extremely safe surgery and a regimen of highly effective cancer and nootropic drugs has allowed health and lifespan to start getting much much closer.People rarely live much beyond 110 - 135 but (provided you get all the flagging organs swapped in time) people's best years extend well into their 60s.
>>98795969Biosphere 2 failed because Steve Bannon got bored of it and a bunch of scientists having to farm is mad stressful.

So-called Dirtcooks are a mix of biochemist, farmer, geologist and microbiologist.Their job is transforming regolith into arable soil through a series of crushing, washing, weathering, digestion and inoculation steps. The process usually starts by tumbling regolith with ball bearings to break it into manageable chunks. The ball bearings are magnetically removed and the material is washed of perchlorates before charcoal charged with phosphorus is added. Then lichen is introduced to begin weathering the sharp materials.Slugs are allowed to graze on the lichen followed by worms. After a few more steps the new soil is ready to use and is capable of gradually absorbing adjacent regolith.Dirtcooks are rough, dour individuals but don't confuse their monosyllabic communication for lack of sophistication — They're probably more educated than you.
>>98796996>deranged asteroid jockeysYou won't be saying that in the Belt.
>>98800070>muh beltThere ain't shit in the belt. All it is is a few scattered corporate or government owned mining operations and the space equivalent of homeless camps. Most ships pass right through it before they even realize they were in the belt. The real deal for rough and tough outlaw, freedom loving renegade spacers are the so called "Ringos" that make their home in the gas giant rings. The rings are dangerous as fuck due to the density of icy bodies, rocky bodies, and dust or particles moving fast enough to turn your average EVA suit into swiss cheese. The ringos live here by hollowing out the larger bodies and turning them into makeshift stations. The larger of these stations often incorporate multiple bodies Frankensteined together with steel reinforcements and shipwrecks. Due to the mass some of these stations have, they tend to accumulate dust clouds around them from local body collisions. For this reason they have earned the name stardusts. It's from these stardusts a rebellious counter cultural movement has begun to emerge, bringing with it strange new forms of music using electric guitars and eccentric ideas about fashion.
While the exact culture of a habitat is defined mainly by the corp or government that founded and funded it a series of distinct identities are starting to form. The Outies are those who travel to the deep science stations, most consider all of them to be crazy from the long trips into the deepest black.Ringos are the inhabitants of the various gas giant rings mostly crazy wannabe rebels, their main exports are music, entertainment shows and attempting to rebel against the governments and corps looking to exploit the gas giants.Belters, space texans (even the chinese and russian belters are adopting stetsons (to prevent dangerous sun blindness) and heeled 'cowboy' boots (that are suposedly better for hooking onto zero grav stirups). The first-comers have mostly secured all the really good claims but new people are attracted to the Belt every year by the promise of 'getting it rich'.Innies - Residents of Mars and the various O'Neil cylinders, many still think of themselves as Earthers and thus superior to the various rabble in the Belt (or god forfend the outer system.) Their children listen to Ringo music, watch TV shows made in the O'Neil Cylinders, see the latest blockbusters from Earth and have a friend whose parents are from that weird Moonie religion.Moonies - Moon Mormons. The Unification Church (Moonies) is finally free of their nickname - they're still a cult, and they occasionally get in trouble for cult things.Earthers - even the poorest resident of a city in the AAF, USSR and 4th Chinese Republic thinks they're infinitely superior culturally (if not economically) than any spacer, they still compete to get corporate jobs or government allocations to the colonies though.
>>98800293>EarthersIt's the residents of the wealthier unalligned nations (continental Europe in particular) who show the most distain for the spacers and spaceborne - everything that matters culturally comes from Earth after all. Most of them listen to Ringo music and read books and watch movies and shows written by spacers but all of them pretend to be above such shallow entertainment.

The Soviet Orbital Development Bureau is an oft-envied part of the USSR which has gradually managed to assume more and more power. It began as a joint venture between the Ministry of General Machine Building and the KGB in order to study the effects of prolonged extraterrestrial stays on ideological purity and monitor the various subordinate design bureaus. This later evolved into creating the Cosmonaut Clarity Assessment which was designed to be a unified personality test and filing system to ensure background checks and assessment tests were poured into a singular file once stays became longer and longer.Passing your CCA is essentially the prerequisite for going to orbit for longer than 4 months. This gave them massive authority in curating the population of Soviet Orbital installations and they gradually ended up running them almost like fiefdoms and some even whisper that they're en route to creating the Soviet man of tomorrow in orbit through selective breeding.

The "Face of Mars" has proven to be a completely real geological structure, and most learned people sort of wish it wasn't. It's a large megalithic structure, heavily eroded by Martian winds and time. It was not constructed like the Great Pyramids, there are no parts to it, instead it appears to have been cut from a natural formation, via means that the same erosion has made impossible to determine. Likewise, there are no surviving writings, symbols, high technology, remains, or any other traces that could point to an origin, time scale, or purpose. Carbon dating only provides the age of the rock, not the age of the carving. The entire totality of human knowledge on it is as such: there is a large rock on Mars, it's recognizably in the shape of a human face, and those features are not a trick of sunlight or perception. This has proven to be such a dead end in xeno-archeology, Martian geology, ufology, and speculative xeno-anthropology that most academics are annoyed and exhausted that it exists at all. The only people that really appreciate it are Martian cartographers who use it as a reference point on maps and the various tourist trap industries which have sprung up around it. Hiking, skiing, camping, and climbing "the Face" is a bit of a right of passage for people on their first Martian excursion.
>>98802363Wouldn't it be funny if it was a sort of cosmic monkeys and typewriters situation where that specific geological formation just so happened to erode in a way that resembled a human face, and that that specific geological formation was also located on Mars?>THE FACE ON MARS IS REAL!!!!>So that means aliens carved it right? Aside from incredible soda the Moon Mormons also export top-tier nurses and midwives.Oh, sure. They're all glowies to the nth degree, never delude yourself about that. But they're also the preeminent experts at low, micro and zero gravity healthcare, fertility and childbirth so the flagrantly evil conduct outside the hospital module is tolerated with gritted teeth. While no one seriously believes that there will be a massive nuclear exchange the 'duck and cover' drills have persisted in AAF schools. These are particularly important in the growing spaceborn population that inhabit the O'Neil Cylinders and the few belt settlements that are rated for long term juvenile inhabitation (the AAF considers a minimum of 3/4s gravity but recommends full gravity for healthy growth and development). The duck and cover drills in these schools cover more useful things like what to do if the gravity stops, how to patch a hull breach and other vital tasks to prevent large scale loss of life aboard a space habitat.
>>98803957>how to patch a hull breachGetting caught doing a fucky wucky with your allocated bottle of sealant is a canon event. It's a bright orange with the consistency of spray cheese so yes. Kids dare each other to eat it. It's also fun to play with because it has incredible tensile strength despite how runny it is.The right way to use it is applying gauze across tear then smearing sealant across that. This initiates the reaction to harden it into a seal which can later be sanded smooth and painted over. It's not idiot proof but boy it's close.

A second Red Eye has opened on Jupiter giving it the appearance of a planet with two eyes. A space faring superstition is to never look at Jupiter directly else the planet curses you and your ship to never return to port.
>>98805078Another superstition states that your ship needs to be accustomed to where you want to go first. A ship that feels rushed makes mistakes so you better get everything checked thrice then settle everyone in THEN tell it where you're going and what you're doing there. It evolved as an expression of the very real concern for horrible safety culture, leaving behind crew and supply undercutting but took on a life on its own. This also means most ships are designed to host guests since you'll be expected to say your final goodbyes while already on the ship and stragglers might have to find a new crew cause if you can't be in time for the ship to get accustomed to you you'll probably be cursed.

While undersea settlements have become increasingly common in shallow waters on Earth, a true Aquapolis has only been attempted once. It was anchored in the Bahamas and was meant to be a luxury destination for wealthy international visitors, heads of state, business moguls and celebrities. It was utterly wiped out when a manageable Category 2 hurricane rapidly intensified into a Category 5 and landed practically on top of the city. The resulting loss of people, investments, infrastructure, and related business nearly bankrupted several corporations and caused a severe economic shock.

Deflector shields and similar ideas are still largely the realm of science fiction, with some very early exception prototypes in government facilities. Navigational hazards like micro-meteoroids, ice formations, ship debris and other assorted space junk are considered enough of an issue to demand a response from space ship designers. The most common solution currently is the "shield wall" system, which incorporates large modular plates of metal or ceramic on extendable hydraulic arms around a ship. These are deployed in areas reported to have hazards and serve as a blunt safeguard against impacts. The modularity of the system allows for quick swapping of shield components at most space docks and easy patching to damaged shields. There is a significant art culture around these shields, with many sporting ship's logos, advertisements, personal designs, whole poems, religious quotes, and so on, treating them as a modern equivalent of an old sailing ship's figurehead statue.
Rastafarians are a surprisingly common sight on long-haul ships as hydroponic gardeners and cooks, being able to make a blend of fresh and canned ingredients taste luxurious with ease.

Setting so far seems fairly hard sci fi. Which I dig. Here's a curveball question sort of related. What's the total population in the solar system?Given the issues of reproduction in microgravity, being that it doesn't work at all as far as I'm aware, people would need to do the no pants dance on a celestial body or station for the gravity. I would think the bulk of humanity still lives on Earth. Something like 20 billion Earth, being supported with space resources and better tech, 1 billion space. Surface colonies seem like they'd take a long time to construct, taking into account the need to excavate habitats or otherwise find a way to solve the radiation problem, so most spacers would need to live on the stanford toruses and oneil cylinders and hollowed out meteors of the solar system. This too presents a radiation problem. So, in order to compensate for cosmic radiation being super high in space, most stations are outfitted with a sort of artificial magnetosphere. It's not perfect, but it's better than living exclusively on your ship where there's nothing. A side effect of all the radiation exposure is that cancer treatments are a routine thing and nothing really to worry much about. Aside from like blood cancer or super aggressive brain cancer.

Space side I think it depends on how long the O'Neil cylinders have been up - my personal thoughts would be around 600 million in the Cylinders, 70m on the moon, 170 million on mars, spread through the various domes in the AAF and USSR sectors, 50 million in the Belt, largest single settlement is 500,000 permanent residents and 50m or less beyond the belt. One of the key technologies in human space is that of the Neural Jack, this allows any operator to link with a compatible device and control it through thought as if it were part of the operator's body. This has found particular utility with pilots, drone and missile operators, and anyone who operates heavy machinery. The most common locations for the physical link are the back of neck near the nape (for easy access to the brain) and the wrist (to allow linkage to hand held devices). The Neural Jack can also link with other subdermal implants like AR rigs, communications devices, virtual input devices, subdermal rfids etc.

>>98813919>Setting so far seems fairly hard sci fi. Which I digYeah it's pretty interesting cause we didn't really set out to do it it just kinda happened.Maybe that's exactly why it works.>Population Yeah 20 billion could work.Maybe a little more. Nature abhors a vacuum (hurr durr) so more real estate would probably be a pretty good motivator for growth even in traditionally lower growth demographics. With a more hostile China and an ongoing space race the global economy is gonna have a much broader footing.>In this timeline the Rust Belt is thriving
>>98815604Another thing to think about, or at least something I had on my mind when I typed that up, was culture. Given the break point was Gulf of Tonkin, current time in setting is about 130 or so years after. So, if we're being generous about technological development and the space race going basically perfect, that gives us at most 3-4 generations of spacers. That's best case I think, like immediate space colonization starting in the 70s or so. More conservatively it would be like 2 generations, starting colonization in the 2020s. I think this means that, culturally, things wouldn't have diverged too far from whatever they believe on Earth. So something like spacers believing in a million armed space octopus that commands them to be cannibals and castrate the non-believers as a major religion on par with Catholicism would be a bridge too far. Plus, it seems like there was a bit of cultural stagnation going in, which makes things interesting. Hippies and punks are showing up right around now. Or maybe Ringos started popping up in the 2060s-2070s. Either way that's, roughly from our point of view, about 50 or so years of cultural stagnation.Am I too far off or pretty close? I feel like that gives us some very interesting limits to work with.Another thing. Did the British invasion of the 60s happen?
>>98815796Looks like the British Invasion still would have happened. Love Me Do came out in 1962 which is prior to the break. Hard Days Night came out in 1964, so Beatlemania was in full swing. I'd say this is relatively important because a lot of late 20th century culture is downstream of The Beatles and the 60s youth culture.
>>98815796>Did the British invasion of the 60s happen?Oh definitely.
>>98815927If so, then the implications for this post run counter to what was established in the OP.>>98773649The Single Convention was in 1961 as well, so that would mean this post >>98774711 might be at odds with the current timeline.I'm not trying to be an ass or start shit with these posts. I think its important that we straighten out the timeline to give ourselves a good base to work off of. This thread has a lot going for it, and if we keep working we could maybe turn it around into the next Expedition: Agartha as a fully realized setting and playable game.
>>98815796>Either way that's, roughly from our point of view, about 50 or so years of cultural stagnation.>Am I too far off or pretty close? The way I square it in my brain is that a lot of these things transmutated from movements into self sustaining subcultures. IRL Punks, goths, Battletech players and ravers for example existed well past their cultural peak. Hippies were a millenarist movement so they decided to give up and become office drones once easy wins didn't manifest but without Vietnam supercharging that they might set up a much more sustainable foundation.
>>98816144Let me try to make some bullet points to make it a littler clearer what I'm trying to say.>Beatlemania happened>single convention on narcotics happened>British invasion happened>therefore, hippies happened>Kennedy assassination happened>60s progressed as normal right up until Gulf of Tonkin>US involvement in Vietnam failed by 1 voteAfter that, we have a narrative gap in the setting. To give a specific date to the break, Gulf of Tonkin was August 2nd, 1964. Everything prior to that date happened as it did in the real world.
I'm gonna post some filk (sci-fi folk) in hopes someone gets inspiration from it. Seems like it fits the setting.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MApwCxI6Oekhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ryd_p20XEUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbs4Ei--Gk4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS0NUtRpyPA
>>98816184Oh wait I'm mistaken. Timeline diverged prior to gulf of tonkin. That means I get to do this.On November 22, 1963, US President John F. Kennedy suffered an assassination attempt that nearly ended his life in Dallas, Texas. Thankfully, he suffered only minor injuries and went on to make a full recovery. There, now we got some real spice to work with. Kennedy lived. That's the break.
>>98773562>The underground scene takes on a new form with people have small gatherings in space stations and orbital habitats normally off limits to regular civilians as a way for veterans who have become disillusioned to get away and express themselves.
>>98796199Where's the corner mirror to snort space coke off of?
>>98816229Neat find, thanks anon.St. Joseph of Cupertino was officially canonized by the Roman Catholic Church in the late 1990s as the patron saint of aviators and astronauts. Statues, shrines, and other paraphernalia honoring him have become so common on space ships, orbital stations, and non-planet settlements that he's achieved a status not unlike Santa Claus where even non-Catholics request his aid during tough times starside. He is often depicted in art wearing a "Catholicized" Apollo astronaut suit, or "Orthodoxized" Cosmonaut suit, for Soviet and Chinese spacers. Artificial gravity failures of any kind are typically met with the phrase "C'mon Joseph" is various tones, as his biography implied the saint hovered and pop culture extrapolated that to him thinking it's occasionally funny to make people float around like he did.

China implementing and flaunting the introduction of the chicken nugget was one of many reasons Sino-Russian relations came to blows. They also took incredibly well to meat extension and TVP for obvious reasons
>>98814782Makes sense. Hot dogs, ground meat, other mince meat dishes would most likely be common due to getting "pure meat" as hard. In a setting I have. Cooking is a skill that's rare and often you have to be trained in a school as most food is just heat and eat or ready as is. Only if you're on Earth or a "Ranch" would you have access to animals or even plants outside of some basic herbs. Now meal prep systems are a thing, however you have equipment for that and most people kitchen is basically just "air fryer" and microwave. Stoves and ovens are specialized equipment.

Often said to those without a personal space suit.)I got to admit I am stuck between Crib Crawlers and the Banner of the Stars's Crawling Mudturtles as my favorites from the ones I didn't make.
I've added a bunch to the GPT doc (that I linked earlier.)I'm going to try and modify the Traveller Mongoose 2e rules (mostly because that's the one I have a physical copy of) while 'working' for the taxpayer tomorrow.

>>98829886That's just weed. Weed is basically like cheap booze. Just getting you high and people get addicted to the feeling. Ask any user who does it normally and they say they have a hard time functioning without after a while. Though that being said anything used too much can fuck a person up mentally or physicality. They easiest way of figuring out someone is addicted to something, is if they call it self medication.
