And I Can Prove it>D&D 4e>Shadowrun 4e>Exalted 2e>Pathfinder 1e>GURPS 3e>Grog AD&D 2e>Warhammer 6e>Warhammer RPG Rogue Trader 1e>B/X revised>Ars Magicka 2e>Palladium (literally anything from Palladium)Basically all the math heavy, number crunching games were my favorite because they filtered out idiots, and yet these are the least popular. (Cutting 3.5 and 1st ed AD&D gets rid of all the autists)I'm feeling the itch and I can't find old timers to play with.
>>98803658>(Cutting 3.5 and 1st ed AD&D gets rid of all the autists)3.5 is far more math heavy than 4e, and it's based for being autistic
>>98803658>gurps 3ewhy do you like it even doe 4e is almost the same edition with small changes
>>98803658Shadowrun 4e is usually touted as the best of the "modern" editions.
>>98803658 >warhammer 6eLol, lmao even. 6e is one of the prime groghammer editions.
>>98803751Honestly, the argument people have with 4e usually isn't even the rules, it's that they hate how the writers realized it wasn't 1987 anymore.
>>98803658>I did not like it>I disagree, 1/2/3 eds had better setting and 'ambiance', 4th is a bit too clean and modern, dropping the 80s/90s cyberpunk 'ideal' for a more 'modern' feel>never played it>I like it, it as 3.5.5, you could exploit it, but you also could go along with it>never played it>Yes, AD&D 2nd is great, I still play with it >Never played it, but heard great things about it.+the art, the fluff, top notch>I'm more of a DH 1st man m'self, but RT got the same mechanics, better psychic stuff and the sandbox is much more free>Never played the last three.I'm running WFRP 4th, The Enemy Within, I just might fall back into running DH 1st again, althought I'm not turned to do Rogue Trader, or better yet, play for a change!>>98803758Well, that was the charm of it; it was not modern it was another reality, history did not happen as it did, hence we got the Shadowrun world. Bringing it 'up to date' basically destroys the whole reality of the setting.
>>98803658Exalted is just dead in general
>>98803755I had the same thought then realised he was talking about 40k 6e.
>>98803658PF1 is superior but you're dead wrong on D&D 4e that shit sucked
>>988036584E is more popular than some editions. SR6 is by far the least popular edition and SR4 isn't even near the bottom.
>>98803658>you wouldn't get it, its too uncool lol nerds being hipsters publicly chasing obscurity has always been funny. >wants math heavy noomber crunching >doesn't want autists >thinks pathfinder for some reasons isn't autists >thinks b/x is math heavy >thinks SR4e is number crunching You have the most basic bitch bad taste in slightly different but still just as bad as the other slop I have seen in a while.
>>98803658Based tastes for the most part. But I must ask: What do you prefer about Ars Magica 2e? Have you tried 5e at all? I am very curious what has changed between the older and newer editions.
>>98803683Kind of? 3.5 is math heavy to manage items and abilities if you autistically build your character and stack bonuses. However, do that and CR-appropriate monsters will drop in like 1-2 hits, leading to less math overall. You're doing fuck all in the fights because the modifiers soon get big enough the dice roll becomes near irrelevant.
>>98808994what i hated about 3.5 was the splats. there were so many splat books, it was ridiculous.
>>98805542This. The devs shot their own game in the foot by simultaneously keeping around Holdenmorke for years after it became clear they fucked up, AND gatekeeping the community until it is pretty much entirely isolated to their hugbox of a Discord where "community managers" ensure the most vocal part of the online fandom is also the most submissive and cock-garglingly sycophantic. As a result, the game has dropped off since both autists and enthusiasts are now isolated to an insular self-policing community that cares more about parasocial relationships with the developers than the objective quality of the product. The people in charge don't care, because nobody else has managed to churn out a comparable demigod weaboo game, and raking in easy money with empty promises on Backerkit is more cost effective than taking the time to figure out how to unfuck Sail rules. He's right about 2e being the best edition, by the way. There are things I like about 3e but I have to cherrypick through and overlook a lot of bullshit to find them, starting with the fact that the devs are being ACTIVELY PREVENTED from overhauling the edition despite the many problems with core. Starting with falling damage bypassing perfect defences (except some Infernal ones, because one again Infernals rule the edition by coming in last)
>>98803658>Exalted 2eWhat? On what Earth is 2e not the most popular edition?
>>98803658>filtered out idiots, and yet these are the least popularYou say 'yet', yet it's obviously 'thus'.
>>98803658i agree with everything but ars magicka there isn't a good edition.also pf2e remaster is the better game unfortunately.
>>98803658>D&D 4eI don't even need to read further. It won't happen to me (because it didn't and I play older games than that) the issue is you're a faggot with shit taste and your flavour of the minute had the staying power of milk in the pantry.
>>98803658Wait wait wait wait wait,There is a 2nd edition for Rogue Trader RPG?
>>98803658I have my own PF1e/3.X clone that I wrote for my own games. It is objectively less popular, because only five people have ever played it, and half the rules aren't even written down.
>>98803658I tend to play games like ACKS, and SAKE to filter out tourists and the idiot activists. Though admit I have less crunchy games I like to play like DC20, and Broken Empire.
