Im working on a bit of a zoomed out TTRPG focused on bridging the gap between skill based systems (WOD games and others that don't use classes) and more class based stuff (like D&D.) It's a d100 roll under system with a heavy focus on modifiers through race, items, and Vocations (name for classes)

Here's a mockup of a test sheet im gonna use for a play-test coming up. Im gonna shorten the whole gap of blank skill sections on my next pass over.

Rob crypts and scam tourists before your competitors put you in the dirt for having the same idea in a medieval shithole.

What do you mean by that exactly?
What do Vocations do exactly?
I think Savage Worlds Pathfinder is something you could look at for inspiration.
I'm working on a system that's meant to be D&D 3.5e compatible but with extra dice instead of modifiers and bonuses, and where every proficiency (things you can be good or bad at) is a skill. Classes give you specific abilities (spellcasting, rage, turn or rebuke undead, etc).

sounds like snowflake project too heavy on math for current youngsters
good luck anyway

>What do you mean by that exactly?
A in between system, bringing classes and individual skills under one system. Mostly just to see if it can be done in a way that isn't ass since I got a lot of free time.

>What do Vocations do exactly?
They are essentially the classes of the system and grant bonuses to core stats, skills, and some unique actions. Sort of a riff on feat trees.

I'll check them out, been taking a lot of inspiration from Vermis 1/2/3 for the general mindset and vibe.

100% most the people I know have only ever touched 5e so the playtest will be with a whole different group, main one helping me loves Warhammer fantasy and the elder scrolls system

Added some basic weapons stuff the other night, since work is over i can post it. Just super bare bones right now but the weapons themselves will get a lot more variety after the playtest.

trying to make gear a big part of progression so gonna need a lot of it.

Finally. A role playing game that makes sense.

Put that stuff in a google drive document and share it so that we can keep an eye on the updates.

this doc is poorly worded and still needs a lot of work but at least i find the work fun.

Cyberpunk 2020/Red does this with pretty broad classes.

Best advice on this board.

Just got some free time to work on this so ill have some updates soon, in the meantime though gonna rework Relics and Coin a small bit.

Relics originally were going to be the main currency, objects pulled from dungeons with latent magical connections but i ran into the issue of the cheapest currency being worth a lot.

Thats were coin comes in, for poor people and basic items.

I recently joined a cyberpunk red game, been looking through that and a whole host of systems to see what i can gather inspiration from
>>
>>98812887
Need to integrate them into the magic system once i get it fleshed out but heres whats on relics so far. Its also updated in the google doc.
>>
>>98812887
Added the 'schools' of magic, still need to give each one detail and stuff but they are intended to be blended with one another to actually create effects.

Thanks!

Gonna give recipe books and shit but most magic recipes will have a required Esoterica and craft besides the few rare instant casts, i also plan to give some vocations unique Formula
