What is the exact coin price it would take to get your character to betray the party?
>>
>>98814643
1500GP. enough to fully replace my magic weapons, or maybe get some decent enchanted armour.
>>
>>98814674
That's not really that much anon lol
>>
>>98814675
well it wouldnt be that much work, i'd just have to wait until the other DPS players are away for the week then sweep up the cleric and HP-sponge. maybe one mage too, but thats only one or two more turns of damage if i play my cards right
>>
>>98814674
That's barely enough to afford one set of non-magic full plate.

I once offered a charcter (Rogue Lvl 7) the chance to gain three levels in Warlock (at an instant) with further rules like only leveling through milestones, no more gaining levels in the original class, no more exp, obligation to fulfill Patreons commands or immediately lose all warlock levels, etc. With the first demand the patron (High level Balor) made being to kill at least one party member within 10 minutes of recieving the power. He took it and failed. Got murdered by the party mostly because the tiny hut from the previous rest was still active and they used it as cover from his ranged attacks. Was a very memorable moment though.

Most of my characters would fall into two camps
>never ever betray the party
>oppose openly the party if the rest of the group decides to go against the PC's principles
But those aren't really that interesting, so I'm going to talk about the few that would betray the party.
>psyker with gambling addition
He wouldn't betray the party for money or power, but he would have no moral quandaries betting their lives on a game without even warning them.
>cyborg mercenary from a series of one-shots
She didn't bond with the party so she'd have no trouble selling them out.
>another mercenary from the same series
He was based on a cryptobros, so he'd sell the party and probably get swindled out of the reward.
>cyborg fuckboy trying to party in Night City
He'd change allegience if the enemy side had better lays than the party members he's hooking up with.

In which system?
>>
>>98814643
Which setting? Which game system? Which story?

full plate has cost 1500 gp in d&d and d&d clones since 3rd edition in 2000. In AD&D there were more types than just half plate and full plate some were actually even more expensive.
>>
>>98814643
Money is worthless. Give me xp.
>>
>>98814643
>Star Wars character
He'd haggle as high as humanly possible then use the money to fuck over whoever is making the offer.
Mamma didn't raise no bitch, nor did she raise a snitch, and any motherfucker who makes the mistake of thinking she did will end up in a ditch.
>>
>>98815101
they're STILL stuck there?
>>
>>98815135
It's 30 gp in Pathfinder 2e, which I assume isn't the only d20 clone to change the prices.
>>
>>98814643
Why would I pay for something I'm willing to do for free?
>>
>>98815135
If memory serves, there was brass or bronze plate mail, plate mail, field plate mail, and then full plate. Full plate offered the best AC and was the most expensive, but full plate was also noted to be heavily ornamented and decorated. There was a pretty significant gap between field and full plate, if I recall, as well.
>>
>>98814643
6000 gp. 2k takes care of the resurrection spell component cost for the other two fuckos, 1k for each of them for the trouble, then another 2k for me. Maybe more if I need resources to turn the tables on the person I'm bargaining with, but I'd figure that out with the rest of the party before I actually went through with it.
>>
>>98815899
Nah, I'm just chiming in. The campaign is over and they're out. That was the only campaign where I played a character that would actually sell out party members
>>
>>98814643
Not possible. The world we live on doesn't have enough of an economy. You could offer him a literal mountain of gold and there is just nothing he could buy with it that would make such a betrayal worthwhile.
It's a lower magic world where we're the only ones marked by destiny, nobody has grown above level 5 except us. There's no magic items to buy, there's no kingdoms to ransom.
>>
>>98815010
>>98815021
OP is explicitly asking about YOUR CHARACTER you faggot mongoloids, you tell us what system/setting you're playing in if it matters that much to you.
>>
>>98816479
if the other person is resourceful enough to offer 6000 and the setting contains resurrection, then it is a fair bet he expects you to kill your party in a way that prevents bringing them back to life
in that case you might as well take the money and betray the employer right away
but they probably won't give all of it to you before you do the deed
>>
>>98816583
I wasn't talking to op, retard.
>>
Wouldn't accept it, because how do they know the person paying them isn't going to immediately stab them in the back once they're done with the other party members?

Betrayal begets betrayal.
>>
>>98816672
technically the person paying them isn't betraying anybody, assuming he's openly been an enemy
>>
>>98814643
None he's a principled dude.
Of course, he's wise enough to come to the conclusion why that would be a bad idea regardless of that, but those would be 'a posteriori' justifications at best.

Werewolf: the Apocalypse - 0.00 of the local currency.
"I may be the poorest and least-connected Silver Fang in history, but I live and die for my pack. No amount of money could spur my betrayal. Unless my friends fall entirely to the Wyrm's grasp, I am on their side until the very end."

Vampire: the Masquerade - 10 billion USD, half up-front.
"Crossing the children of Ennoia and Troile should not be done lightly. Or cheaply. The price must match the danger they and their allies pose to me for the betrayal, the social opprobrium I might face afterwards, the cost of relocating to a new city... plus a surcharge, because I rather liked this coterie."
>>
>>98814643
I don't play backstabbing faggots. None of my characters would betray their allies.
>>
>>98814643
I don't do it for the money, I do it for fun.
>>
>>98816628
Yes you were, faggot. Kill yourself.
>>
>>98814643
1,2x10^33 gold coins, assuming they weigh 5 grams each. I'll let one of the less retarded anons figure out why.
>>
>>98817181
I thought this was mass of Earth, but I checked and the planet would be 10^9 lighter.
>>
>>98814643
I'd kill those fucks for a ham sandwich.
>>
>>98815438
>>98814933
Why did these get deleted?
>>
>>98814643
It's not that much about the price, it's about how much these asshats pissed off my character lately
>>
>>98819225
It's the number of coins needed to create mass enough to collapse into a black hole.
>>
>>98816583
And he's asking which SYSTEM that anon's CHARACTER is in that he's willing to betray the party for 1500GP. Try to keep up my lil loonytroon.
>>
>>98814643
Coins are pretty worthless in Cosmere since spheres are the only form of currency worth a damn plus my PC is all about fighting for his frens, so the offer is a bit of a non-starter even if this shadowy vizier swapped to a real currency.
>>
>>98814643
30 pieces of silver, to pay the Devil, on MY WAY TO HELL!
>>
>>98817181
>^33
>To the thirty third power
Goddamn. Must be a hell of a party.
>>
>>98814643
Define "betray". Are we talking "revealing sensitive information" or "switch side midcombat and try to kill them"?

Because, depending on the cause, the former might be free, the later might be impossible.
>>
>>98824023
it's way less than that at the density of gold
>>
>>98814643
"Vile fiend, you dare think I am for purchase like some common harlot?! My oaths are unbreakable, have at you!"
*Rolls initiative*
>>
>>98814643
One of my characters is a fae with no use for coin since he can just turn bones to silver and boy does he have a vast collection of bones.

Another one of my characters is an suicidally depressed alcoholic and one of the most values people on a communistic space colony ship.He is literally not worth the money it'd take to buy him out and then he'd probably forget the bribe after a few hard drinks and never get to the betrayal.

The third one is a demigod with friendship-powered mind control who would force the briber to befriend her party and then give away the money to charity.

The fourth one is a gambling addict who'd sell her own parents out for a 5 zeni if she's in the middle of a losing streak and needs a top-up. If she does win after that tho, she's just paying back double what she got and fucking off to waste her winnings.
>>
>>98825732
>The third one is a demigod with friendship-powered mind control who would force the briber to befriend her party and then give away the money to charity.
sounds more like mind control-powered friendship
>>
>>98815101

>>98816493
context?

>>98814643
We are hunting "gods", money is meaningless
>>
>>98828251
Anon is a drawfag who's been sharing his 3.5e campaign in hell city of Avernus over the months.
