I'm trying to phase out Monopoly from the family table, what (lovable) idiot friendly board games should I start stocking?I asked my brother but his taste is way too technically complex for a casual evening.I'm thinking Catan. Anything else?
>>98819266Blazon is a pretty fun normie-friendly game.
You could probably convince them to give one of the Dune ones a try since the movies have brought it back into mainstream consciousness.
>>98819266Number of players is the most important factor. Can't Stop is simple and only requires simple addition.

>>98820486Co-op games are really good for this sort of family atmosphere, as long as you can get any quarterbacks to shut the fuck up with social pressure.
>>98819266Get Azul and all the women in your family will love it. But it's only up to 4 players so get Fire Tower for the men to play to balance it out. For a family game Mysterium can be good if you've got more creative people in your family. Not if you're all super autistic though. Then you'll just fight each other over what's supposed to be a low stakes abstract artsy version of Clue. For some reason my family and multiple friend families (who I lent it to) all love Sheriff of Nottingham. It's just a simple bluffing game. It's alright. But people seem to really like it for family game nights.
>>98819266Get some Cosmic Encounter in there. As long as your family isn't too butthurt about winning and can actually read, then there's a lot of fun to be had in the base game and expansions.
