I'm in the market for a brute that would make a good outcasts leader. The ambot looked good but has a bad leadership.Has anyone got a suggestion about which brutes would make for a good leader? The enforcer robot and squat suit also looked excellent but start with three weapons so less scope for custom loadouts
>>98821468Kinda weird to start an outcast gang without a theme or any sort of vision in mind.
>>98821468Have you tried playing kill team
>>98821468Van Saar spider rig?
>>98821468Czarn the Cyberoth. I used it once for a meme one shot scenarios.Funny.But then again outcast without a theme or at least a goal for it smells like trying to waacfag, which is kind of dumb
>>98821582>>98821829The theme isn't based on the mechanical rules but if you have a statblock you can just fluff it as something Czarn looks (and is in the lore) exactly like what I'm going for. He's not in N26 rules but perhaps could be with arbitration.
>>98821369>bought skirmish gangs of the under hive>cawdor had no articles of faith >barely had anythingAm I missing something? Why even play them? Do I need to wait for the journal for that shit?
>>98822115Yeah
>>98822115Welcome to a new edition. Articles will be back.
>>98822115Is that Jason?
>>98822326Yeah and here’s ghostface killah of the wutang clan
>>98822426Seriously though the gangs of the under hive has none of the shit that makes the gangs unique. And these journals sound retarded.
>>98822442First new edition for you? Yeah, it's retarded and people are retarded for not sticking with the old one, but if you want to play you're gonna have to adapt
>>98822115>>98822326Oh, but he's back! He's the man behind the maskAnd he's out of control!
>>98822587The addiction to hype has done irreparable damage to the hobby
>>98822101>playing N26Why? Is not like the older edition is gone and the new one is so incomplete that your group should wait about a few years, a decade to be sure before switching to it. Anyone doing otherwise is just a blind consumer and should be avoided at all cost.
I like N26 more, but it makes a lot of sense to keep playing the old version until all the gangs in your gaming group get their journals.
>>98822744Seconded - my group've done a few test games, and though the foibles are different, N26 plays quicker and better than N23 ever did. We're waiting for the journals to actually swap over for our next campaign.
Next league match I'm going against wood elves with 235k petty cash and 2 of my sauruses are MNG. Thinking I hire Anqi Panqi and a keg but part of me wants to hire Glotl Stop. Any lizards coaches?
Well you know my name, though you've forgotten I belong to it. I am Gandalf, and Gandalf means Me.
>>98822846Similar. The next campaign will be N23 but we will try N26 for the campaign after
KT QuestionTrying to learn Inquis Agents, playing vs Insidiants next week. Who do I bring as req? I'm thinking exaction, bring some shields and a dog to rush them, then roll up with questkeeper, death vet and penal to finish them off. that limits my gun power heavy though. kasrkin with stand plasma/melta combo feels too standard, against +3 / 9W feels like it might be needed.
Are there any major differences between the different editons of MESBG? Completely new to it and unsure where to start.
>>98823329For my two cents, you should try a few journal-less skirmish games with goofy gangs that you'd never play otherwise - an Oops All Infiltrators Ash Wastes gang, a Venators gang that's an Ogryn with a bike and a Servo-Harness leading a bunch of Ratlings with knockback weapons, stuff like that. Push the rules to their breaking point, find the pain points for you and your group, then discuss potential fixes so you're not hotfixing stuff that annoys you mid-campaign.
>>98824206It’s mostly tweaks as far as I’ve encountered specifically in mesbg. There are more differences with from back in the day vs mesbg. Most of the rules when actually playing are pretty similar but faction rules used to be a lot looser and army selection didn’t revolve so much around heroes and warbands with number of models based on the significance of the hero. You could have pretty mixed and matched lists so long as they were all good or all evil in one side. While I get the point of encouraging “canon” allying I don’t like that it’s pretty much based on the movies. Also all of the hobbit armies are lame (I’m bitter because back in the day I themed my normal dwarf warriors as being from the lonely mountain and elf rangers as being from mirkwood but now to do that id need to use the awful hobbit movie designs)
>>98825049That's the idea, start with vanilla N26 campaigns then see what we like/dislike.We have a fair few house rules we use for N23 to make it better suit us
>>98823042>lizards >minus 2 big lizards>vs wood elvesyou're going to get raped and you deserve it for playing that overpowered cancer team. Best case, you could try to beat the shit out of the wood elves, but wood elves are hard to beat in general if you can't remove them since they're so fucking fast and if you don't have guard they can more or less break your cage and get 2 dice on the ball at will. fuck lizards and fuck lizard coaches. and they don't even really need to do that. they can just force you to score before turn 8 (or prevent you from scoring) and then dakka. you need Cas
>>98825354Why are you so grouchy all the time?
Any suggestions for skirmish rulesets for 40k? My friend and I are going to do a combined aeronautica/skirmish campaign. We were planning on using shadowwar Armageddon for the skirmish component, but there's some stuff in there that's a bit clunky.I had a read through modern kill team, but holy shit is that game fiddly and regimented. It reads more like an esport than a skirmish wargame. We're looking for something that plays well on the tabletop and lets us track progression and injuries between games. Would prefer to have it designed for 40k stuff because generic systems always felt milquetoast to me, but I'm tine with homebrew and houseruling something to be what we want.
>>98825449I enjoy Space Weirdos for general skirmish, specially if I do not want to run a full proper 40k 3rd/4th edition or Combat Patrol 500 points with a lot of limitation to multi wound models and high AV vehicles as for aircraft stuff Voidfighter is good enough. For ships I go for Void Admiral or Battlefleet Gothic, it depends how much tism I want. Also Shadow War Armaggedon is good enough as a game.
>>98825466Sounds like we're on the same page! We've got a 4th group running as well. For the aeronautica bit we're going to use 1e, they've got some lovely campaign rules in there. But I do have the voidfighter book.Haven't heard of void admiral, is that more or less tism than bfg?
>>98825577>Haven't heard of void admiral, is that more or less tism than bfg?A lot less. Unlike the OPR version of the game, the models on the table still feel like a space ship. One issue or selling point if you will is that every fleet only has 4 ship types.Big ship, medium ship, light ship and squadron ship. The difference between each other comes from the weapon layouts, special rules and cost adjustment. Since every ship must have different layouts if you are running more than one of the same type, players can't really spam shit.
>>98825432why are you so gay?
>>98822115>Do I need to wait for the journal for that shit? No, you can just keep the playing the game that you've had for the last decade.
>>98825354But anon I thought you said that in current edition wood elves and lizards were fixed? Could it be that is just a strawman paper tiger excuse for you to rage against the LRB?
>>98826264>>98822699Not when the local store canceled the old campaign mid campaign to start a new one for this new edition bullshit
>>98826273I said they were nerfed, I didn't say they were fixed. lizardman vs wood elves is also the ye old zons vs dorfs or zons vs wood elves match up of lrb6. It's like one of only 2 or 3 really bad match ups for the lizards. it was worse for the lizards in lrb6, but it's still pretty bad. lizards have more counter play with the H cage preventing the leap in, which wasn't a thing in lrb6, you had to venga bus with guard. It's still an inherently bad match up. Assuming strip ball on the dancer and no guard or sure hands on the lizard in LRB6 it was a 65% to get the ball out with no reroll 88% with a reroll. If you do a normal cage without guard or surehands and the dancer has strip it's a 48% with no rerolls and 74%/75% with 1 or 2 rerolls, but you can H cage which makes it a 16%/30% but then you need to be in an H cage which has it's own issues
>>98826324So you need a GW store to arrange games for you?>>98826346Uh-oh, stinky is walking it back now. Can't handle being called out?
Gave my second thrower a blitzer head to alternate the pose, and gave my blitzers some cool death masks to make them more elite
>>98826607Ew, clone poses.Do you not know that EVERY third party option gives you a full 16 roster of unique dudes? GW is bottom of the barrel and their prices don't even justify it.
>>98826607Took a minute to find in the archive but I knew there was an old example in the general somewhere.
I am paranoid that they're going to either update or discontinue Adeptus Titanicus (and by that I mean stop selling AT rulebooks and only sell Legions Imperialis rulebooks)
>>98826723Why? Do you not already own the rules that you (theoretically) actually play games with? Do you not at least have all the pdf's?
>>98826730I've been wanting to get into AT but working on my backlog, so I'm fucking paranoid that by the time I finish by backlog pile that I will no longer be able to buy the starter set.
>>98826738Well there's a simple solution to that if you stop and think about it.
>>98826723>>98826738Might as well buy a 3d printer and download the pdf so you can stall as long as you like. With the recent news of GW losing 400 million in stock, if they wanted to downside their current lineup , legion imperialis and other epic scale stuffs will be the first on the chopping block.
>>98826776How did they manage that?
>>98826792>we are making billions!>if this trend continues we will make zillions!>why are we making this much money?>who cares! time to promise the share holders bazillion dollars that double each month!
>>988267921. They opened too many stores that don't get a lot of traffic beyond initial opening because they do not operate their stores like local game stores, you cannot play inside of them. The initial opening scramble always acts as a "GOTCHA!" as people who have heard about the glory days of GW stores acting as community gaming centers swarm the shop, end up buying things, then quickly realize that they can't actually PLAY in these spaces (they are literally not allowed to and the spaces are usually very small compared to actual local game stores), so the stores become money sinks. Only the Warhammer Cafes operate as traditional local game stores and there's only like, 2 or 3 of those in the entire world. 2. The edition churn model has probably dried up, it was always going to dry up, you can only do 3 year hype cycles so many times before it starts to become too expensive every 3 years as the hype dies down edition after edition3. See >>98826843, indefinite and exponential growth is an impossible goal to maintain, 1 and 2 lead into this but this is the main reason
>>98826776>if they wanted to downside their current lineup , legion imperialis and other epic scale stuffs will be the first on the chopping block.D:
>>98826776They fucking won't.
>>98826415Are you playing dumb or never play an actual campaign of necromunda? Do you want local neck beards playing at your house if they can’t host? Does your gw even allow gaming? My local store isn’t a gw and already in a smaller town. It’s a miracle anyone plays necromunda at all, so it’s either play with the new fucked rules as it develops or not play at all cause everyone wants to use the new rules. Even the few whales who bought all the previous edition shit.
>>98827011>Do you want local neck beards playing at your house if they can’t host? That is literally how I do it yes, I gatekeep the undesirables (gamestores do not) and it improves the experience for the group as a result.
>>98827011Playing Necro at a store is not something I've seen since 2005.Maybe a few demos here and there when N17 dropped, but everyone just plays in random cafes or at peoples houses.
>>98827105>random cafeswhat.
>>98827105Just read between the lines of anons posts, he thinks that buying shiny new thing is absolutely necessary, he's probably got a private local group in his community but is being gatekept from it.
>>98827127NTA but that's how I got a gaming group going when I last had a major move to a new city, I sat down at the cafe a few times a week with my gaming setup on the table in front of my and read books until someone expressed interest (as I have said here a few times before) and eventually interest became a new gamer, it comes with the added benefit of controlling the game and the rules used as your newcomer isn't at an LGS with predefined notions of buying the newest GW thing all the time.
>>98826415are you fucking retarded? you're trying to strawman so fucking hard, retard. wood elves and lizards were OP in lrb6, they've been nerfed, but not enough. wood elves need to be made STR 2 and ma6. lizards need the st4 lizards to lose G access, be 0-2 instead of 0-6 and be st 3 instead of st4you're a queer>>98826607blitz-ra
>>98827167Lmfao, goalpost mover.
>>98827143>I sat down at the cafe a few times a week with my gaming setup on the table in front of my and read books until someone expressed interestWhat the fuck bro you can just go to some random cafe filled with normies and kids, set up a game table like some freak, not order any food and start reading books? What the fuck?
>>98826792>hobby you can do alone goes up during coof when you can't do anything else>hobby does jack shit to retain people when coof ends also you filled the product with gay woke shit that the core audience doesn't likeit's the same thing that happened to vidya and how the retarded hedgefunds like emberacer and microsoft lost a shit ton of market cap and how tinder and bumble both lost like 90% of their marketcap>>98827175I literally never claimed that the current edition was perfect, just that it improve upon LRB6, retard
>>98827143Like holy shit, this is >>98827185 I am still trying to wrap my head around this. You're saying you set up a game table at a random cafe? Just walked in and set up a whole fucking game in a cafe??? Like, did you place the mat down, and the terrain, and the minis, all on the table and then start reading books for a few hours? What if nobody showed up? Did you become The Guy Who Sits with Minis In Front Of Him for several days? Weeks? Months!? What the fuck kind of cafe was this?
>>98827229>>98827185When you don't play fuckhuge 6'x4' games it's no problem.making a custom 15mm scale portable version of the game helps too.A normal cafe, and of course i ordered food and coffee.
>>98827391This should give you an idea of the actual size, basically a football chess set to outsiders.
>>98827435A 7's pitch too for even smaller setup
>>98827435Honestly it doesn't help at all. Your first pictures with dice give a better sense of scale.
>>98827391How many days did you sit there with nobody taking interest
>>98827127In my third world country, some players regularly play shit like Battle Fleet Gothic in cafes.Granted it is a boardgames cafe, but most places do not give a fuck what you are doing as long as you are consuming and not being a retard Hardest part for the average GW player I know.
>>98827675As I said, 2-3 times a week and I had 3 players in about a month and the group grew from their connections, after about a year the group even subdivided into smaller groups based on both scheduling and who liked hanging out with who more.
maybe the wrong thread but does anyone have the KT teams list image?
>>98823190Aragorn and frodo done tonight. Making good progress.
>>98829436
>>98829594Starting to come together pretty well.
