what is your favorite iteration of therianthropy /tg/? for me it's the seawolf.
>therianthropyNever heard of this in my life, is it just like a were-animal but instead of a guy it's just another animal? Also the suffix "thropy" is derived from the greek work "anthropos", referring to man/human.
>>98825094>Never heard of this in my life, is it just like a were-animal but instead of a guy it's just another animal?IIRC it's beastmen all the time instead of transforming like weres.
>>98825094How have you never heard that termThat's crazy
>>98825076>lycanthrope / therianthrope thread>posts a chimera with no human characteristicsYou keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.>>98825094The word is "anthropy", and it's the stem rather than a suffix. "Therion" (beast) is being prefixed to it. "Lycan" (wolf) is the more common prefix, but a more narrow one.Basically just somewhat more historical words for "beastman" and "werewolf".
>>98825094it's someone who shape shifts into an animal "lycan" means wolf "therion" means wild animal.>>98825136retard
>>98825129I've heard of lycanthropy and ursanthropy, but I guess I'm not into were-animals enough to know what therianthropy is.
>>98825076>what is your favorite iteration of therianthropy /tg/?I've prodded the idea of "breaking up" its common features into a "family" of spells making and modifying animal spirits to inflict them by possession, so you get variance based on which spells were used allowing it to cover a very wide variety of person-to-animal and animal-to-person mythology.>>98825094It's the "technically proper" generalization from lycanthropy for human-to-(hybrid-of-)animal, OP is retarded and using it for hybrids.Better example of animal-to-animal is the Akhlut (/mlp/ iteration pic related), where due to ice flow fractures and observably similar "pack" behavior some of the arctic Native American groups came to believe wolves and orcas were the same creature with two forms. My own "take" on them would be barely-people orcas getting into druidism and noticing these similarities themselves near-universally taking on wolf-forms.
