Do mechas belong in fantasy settings?
>>98827831I have an opinion on this topic. Tragically, if you had one or cared, you would have posted it instead of fishing for Tiktok AI fodder.

There's a containment thread for ai slop.
>>98827831>>98827890It's not ai, the artwork came out before generative ai was that good: https://web.archive.org/web/20220526153518/https://twitter.com/DonatoArts/status/1529848560048644096
>>98827960Why are the chairs different. Why are the canopies different. Why does the left pauldron have a piston connected to the elbow and the other doesn't.Why are the thumbs in different spots.Where is the right foot. Why is there a cobblestone floor to what seems to be a ship's interior. These are not questions, because the answer is it's AI slop.
>>98828003>>98827960ntsacould it be basically an AI trace , but I feel like stuff like what you are talking about is evidence of not being AI. this might just because it lacks the eye strain I associte with AI.

>>98827831Everything belongs in fantasyIt's fantasy
>>98828293It's the same lack of intent that AI suffers from and AIbros pretend isn't real. There was no thought process or attempt to communicate through the design, no consistency kept within otherwise symmetrical features, and no thought toward the world around it.
>>98827831It has its place.
>>98828581ntaYou think too highly of commissioned artists cranking out shit for mtg on a deadline. Guy making it does not care beyond a minimal amount. They're not making art they love, they're making art for money, they're not going to start with as much ground work or go back and fix as much little things. There was shit art before AI. AI just made it easier to crank out.
>>98827831Perhaps
>>98827831Exclusively, given that mechas are impossible in some aspects, and improbable in many others.Fantasy is the only genre mechas can be in.
>>98827831Mechas? No.Pilotable golems? Yes.
>>98827831See: Final Fantasy VI & TES 2: Daggerfall.
>>98827831Ask Warmachines
>>98827831It's a logical offshoot of the Law of Similarity & magical solutions exist to handle the issues that realismfags always try to bring up, so yes.
>>98827831What do you think?
