How prejudiced is your character?
>Against Tieflings and Drow
>Against Elves or Dwarves
>Against people of different social classes
>Against warlock and practitioners of dark magic
>Against criminals and rogues
>Against Orcs and Goblins
>Against arcane spellcasters
>Against people of cultures (Barbarians etc)
>Against people of different faiths
Essentially what prejudices does your character hold? There has to be at least one.

Your image presupposes that being prejudice has no value? Do you have a atrophied amygdala or something? Someone not being prejudice is the historical anomaly.

Not at all. Every iota of bigotry in his soul is well earned and supported with peer-reviewed research.

>Character can and does casually sprinkle Hutt crime statistics into unrelated conversations with little to no prompting
It's not a prejudice if it's true.
>>
>>98845934
Not racist, just don't like them.
Except human women. Actively hate them. If it's got tits but doesn't have a tail, it's a blight on the land. Tieflings are an exception because they have tits and tail but are still a blight on the land.

My cyberpunk char's an exotic - basically like trannies today - who makes sure to drop the hard R in "clanker". Which has more teeth when there's actual tinskin chipheads running around.

Totally not based on myself, natch.

>Depends on if they can be turned away and redeemed
>Depends on the crime and if they can be redeemed
>Not at all
>Depends on if they use magic for evil
>Depends on if they can be redeemed
>Depends on the faith

My character is a Redemption Paladin of Bahamut, anyone who worships tiamat is one of the few people he's allowed to actually fight off the bat, but otherwise if someone can be turned from the path of evil he is bound by his oath to do so. And evil is about actions, not about immutable factors such as your species, just like IRL. So aside from you know, literal evil dragon god cultists and like super undead (liches et al) he doesn't have any.

Forever gm so
>tieflings aka cambions and demon blooded monsters
Largely feared but lower tier demons or demon corrupted soldiers from the last large war still roam around as mercenaries (and scouts for the next one) and are going native a bit so are less outright kill more mistrust and keep an eye on, don't let them into the town in groups, don't let them marry anyone.
>elves and drow
Most humans are ignorant of the differences between different sorts of elves and their collapsed empire and would be unable to understand the metaphysical and political factions. Mistrust mixed with awe and a bit of resentment.
>dwarves
Not a cohesive race, there's a few different groupings of earth spirit sort of creatures, the buddha statue like ones of the east and moss covered ones in the deep forest but they're largely retreating from rising modernity and expanding empires. Many humans at this point have never seen one and wouldn't believe they exist. which is exactly what the dErO want
>classism
There's a lot of turmoil with a rising middle class, increasing literacy, religious reformations and recovery from a long continent spanning war so the older feudal casts feature but there's more intermixing and a certain pragmatism at hand.
>dark magics
All magic is dark, but indispensable. Regular folk distrust all of it but still go to the hedge witch when mum's sick and the church is busy. Also still going to scapegoat the same witch if it come to it.
>Orcs & goblins
They're the aforementioned hell spawn mercenaries.
>arcane spell casters
No distinction between them and dark magic. Theological creeds of various sects and heresies are mixed into magical practitioners and alchemists.
>barbarians
Rather depends on the barbarians don't it?
>faiths
Recently post wars of religion, so its messy.

>Elves
Our allies. Better than Baseline humans, inferior to us. We never say this though and we assume they hold the opposite view. If they didn't there would be something wrong with them.

>Different social classes
No Baseline Peasant has ever held a correct opinion on any subject. Even if they say the correct words, they probably hold that opinion for the wrong reason. A Peasant saying something makes it a lie. The only context in which a Peasant can be correct is if he is delivering verbatim an opinion informed by his rightful Lord or the Church, or saying "Yes sir."

>Witches
Should be killed out of hand.

>Criminals
Should be killed out of hand.

>Primitive hostile aliens
Should be killed out of hand.

>Wizards
Should be killed out of hand.

>Barbarians
Turks are worse than aliens. The rest of the Auswelters are merely inferior because they are Baselines and their inferior language inhibits their ability to articulate complex ideas and have real emotions. If they all spoke Star German they would still be inferior but less so.

>Infidels
We're above such petty hatreds in these days, if I were a Mohammadean I would still be better than the best Christian Turk to have ever lived.

Playing as an elf who doesn't like other elves much. This comes from a religious schism that saw a number of elves stop worshipping the elven pantheon, and I'm one of those elves. He sees the elven faithful as stuck up while also having passed from the stage of history, meaning their arrogance is unearned.

The irony being that he is blindfolded, so it represents the twisted modern "prejudice" of one wanting things to be meritocratic instead of assigned by racial distribution (DEI) this man is as blind as justice.
It says that whoever made the image is aware on some level, that meritocracy would not be diverse.

It's sci-fi.
>WAHH IT ISNT HARD SCI FI
It's Sci-Fi. There's nothing magical about it. It's all tech.
>>
>>98852324
There doesn't have to be magic, with the loads of impossible and improbable aspects already present in it.
Its tech is fantasy, its worlds are fantasy, its creatures are fantasy; none of it works in our own universe.

No, it isn't.
Magic is a power that exists outside of a universe's natural cycle, whether supernatural or unnatural. Technology uses what's available from a universe's natural cycle.
>>
>>98854695
and FTL is outside of that you dipshit pseud bitch, fuck's sake.

Anon. I quoted the only part that I was replying to.
I quoted you complaining that the story would be like every other story.
I asked, then, what the problem is with it being like another story.

I will now state that you would still get a story much like what's been done before. Because it's a story, & stories are about people. If you want it to just be about science, I welcome you to read or watch a Thesis paper or research report instead.
No story about Humans will truely be much different than any other, no matter the technological level.

Have I made my intentions clearer this time?
>>

None of these apply to my campaign except
>different social classes
Those from a higher class are clearly overprivileged assholes who deserve to be robbed and those from a lower class clearly lack ambition.
>different faiths

>>
>>98854869
FTL is pretty much always achieved through technology in the works its featured in, so no, it doesn't exclusively exist outside of what's natural in those works.

>Against Tieflings and Drow
Tieflings are fine, Drow are killed on sight.
>Against Elves or Dwarves
Nothing against them.
>Against people of different social classes
He doesn't like nobles, on account of all the politics. He's lowborn but has been raised to knighthood.
>Against warlock and practitioners of dark magic
They are permitted to surrender and face trial.
>Against criminals and rogues
See above.
>Against Orcs and Goblins
Usually kill on sight.
>Against arcane spellcasters
He doesn't trust them.
>Against people of cultures (Barbarians etc)
Depends. Members of evil cultures (eg. Thayans, etc) are likely to be mistrusted.
>Against people of different faiths
Depends. Followers of evil gods (eg. Bhaalites, etc) are likely to be attacked.
>>
>>98856221
it's not "technology" if you can't describe how it fucking works, and you can't because it doesn't fucking work.
It's magic, you're getting confused by the pseud aesthetic it gets wrapped up in.
>>
>>98856140
And I quoted the meat of your statement, if you can't read between lines, that's on you.
Dumb bitch.
>>
>>98856359
It doesn't matter if it can be described or not. If it's an application of what's natural to the work's universe, it's technology in that universe.
Whether or not it's possible for our world is what determines if it's an impossible fantasy technology or plausible fictional technology.

Magic is a power that exists outside of a universe's natural cycle, whether supernatural or unnatural, and is exclusively a fantasy concept, given such a thing is impossible in our world.
>>
>>98856403
>Whether or not it's possible for our world is what determines if
if it's space fantasy magic, or science fiction technology.
Science fiction is not "anything with a pseud space aesthetic" it is fiction based on the laws of physics and their practical applications as deduced by the scientific method in the real world.
I know shit like star wars and star trek have thoroughly confused the uneducated on what is and is not science fiction vs space fantasy, but that's a subjective failing, not an objective recategorization.
>>
>>98845934
>Against people of different social classes
No inherent distrust or prejudice.

>Against criminals and rogues
Treats with caution.

>Against people of different faiths
Depends on the faith.

>Against Tieflings and Drow
>Against Elves or Dwarves
>Against Orcs and Goblins
>Against people of cultures (Barbarians etc)
May be prejudiced against depending on where in the world we are/they come from.

>Against arcane spellcasters
>Against warlock and practitioners of dark magic
Immediate distrust (and righteous anger) against anybody doing anything even remotely related or adjacent to undeath.
Otherwise, depends.
>>
>>98845934
>Tieflings
He is one. There's a bit of trust in that you can't trust 'em, peels and crosstraders the lot of em.
>Against Drow
Bit on the prideful side compared to most primes.
>Against warlock and practitioners of dark magic
Most of 'em spellslingers a bit barmy
>Against criminals and rogues
Ain't never been a body for screedin', like to think m'self a right canny spiv, but I's just a knight'o the post the end of the day.
>Against Orcs and Goblins
's a right less scary a basher than a baatezu. Just keep a hand on your jink
>Against arcane spellcasters
Again, all some manner of barmy. A body's gotta be a bit of an addle-cove to glean the dark of them shouts
>Against people of different cultures
Every first day prime's a berk. Give a body a few and he'll get the dark of the Cage.
>Against people of different faiths
Powers's powers. All the same

Actually the way halo does it is 100% backed by scientific theory. They aren't technically moving FTL, they're punching a hole in space in point A and opening another in point B. The folded paper method. Human ships do it very crudely while covenant ships can do it very smoothly. This is explained in several books.

This method of travel has already been in scientific spaces for years, it's wormholes. More realistically, it's a refined version of what a black hole does, as it is theorized if you could somehow survive the event horizon of a black hole it would spit you out somewhere else, because matter cannot be created or destroyed so all the matter it consumes must go somewhere.

Also, you're wrong about magic. Magic is just technology we don't yet understand. If I showed a peasant from the 1300s my cell phone they'd call it magic, when in reality it's just technology. Just because we in the modern day do not have FTL travel does not make it magic because our understanding of physics could well be flawed, or it could use a similar method to halo where it's not actual FTL travel but instead making wormholes from point A to point B.
>>
>>98860982

Goliath Fighter, Neutral, M31, formerly soldier in a royal guard garrison force
>Against Tieflings and Drow
Suspicious, but doesn't mind them
>Against Elves or Dwarves
Dwarves are chill, elves from not-France are pretty cunty (the party's druid is alright though)
>Against people of different social classes
Dislike the nobility, expects most to be corrupt or at least greedy
>Against warlock and practitioners of dark magic
Cautious, but can be worked with if necessary (party's warlock proved to be of more use than trouble)
>Against criminals and rogues
Criminals should be punished according to the law of the land in general, rogue is a professional security specialist
>Against Orcs and Goblins
Strongly prejudiced due to a war against greenskins that defined most of his life and cost him his family over the years, goblins less so as there was one major clan who fought on the side of humans.
>Against arcane spellcasters
No prejudice
>Against people of cultures (Barbarians etc)
Not-French are kinda insufferable, no other prejudice of note (he himself is of foreign ethnicity in his homeland)
>Against people of different faiths
No prejudice, he's not much of a believer himself
