Thoughts on retrofuturism?
>>98846598More kino than actual futurism, so I'm all for it.
>>98846598I think the drinks in that picture are overpriced.
>>98846603There's something about the hyper optimistic, space age vision of the future that people had during the 50s and 60s that's so interesting to me and I don't know why.
>>98846621Well today we are just waiting to see if AI ushers in a new golden age or dark age.

>>98846598>Thoughts on that retrofuturism The perspective in that image is really wonky at the the taller building in the middle and adjacent. I think its more about the middle being wrong making everything else looks weird but the plane in blue seems off too like the distinction to make it elevated or at the roof height of the pale buildings didn't work right. >retrofuterism in general Some bits and pieces are fun as art but I like it more as part of a backdrop that has been changed due to the idealism that went with the concepts not working out as planned or encountering other places that are not so nice rather than just homage to the aesthetics. Doesn't have to be grimdark everything's fucked everything sucks but if its just >what if startrek happened? levels of optimism it doesn't do much for me.
>>98846598Makes for a great setting.
