Brown Mold (in D&D) grows when you bring fire near it. Typically described as instantly doubling in size. What happens if you toss some in a volcano?
>>98852384Well, either it burns up because there's an upper limit to how much heat it can handle or things get really interesting really fast. Although from a practical perspective it probably starts growing until it becomes unmanageable well before you get up to the caldera.
>>98852384It would cause a volcanic eruption as it rapidly grows into a blockage that completely shifts the flow of magma. It wouldn't be at the volcano you threw it in though.
>>98852384It grows too rapidly and dies of cancer.
>>98852384It is suffocated and destroyed in the volcano, because molten rock is not fire.
>>98852384do people farm these things for XP like they do in Nethack?
>>98852384Wouldn't it just reach the inner core of the world then and basically overtake it in a grey goo event? Bit silly.
>>98852747No.It'd be a brown goo event.
>>98852384>What happens if you toss some in a volcano?big mold
>>98852559Brown Mold is regenerated by the fire element, so it may mix into the molten rock. if it fails to advance it would be similar to how too much Life essence can make you explode in DnD.
>>98852384>Brown Mold (in D&D) grows when you bring fire near it. Typically described as instantly doubling in size. What happens if you toss some in a volcano?meant to grow with heat, not to be immune to fire, but the way the monsters are written....
>>98852384>Brown Mold (in D&D) grows when you bring fire near it.needs errata up the ass, like when exposed to heat in the vicinity and not directly in contact with fire as that destroys it, and in contact with earth and soil and so on. This is like the infinite troll meat bullshit.
>>98853052>brown mold infested troll meatJust toss an ounce on the fire and let it grow to the size you want. Maybe food for orcs? Not like they'd care about catching trollpox.
>>98852759>what a shitty way to go
>>98852811Lava doesn't actually act like water; unless you've got a higher density than the rock it's made of, you'll float on top of it (while burning).
>>98852384What happens if you throw it in the plane of fire?
>>98858238You will create a plane of brown mold with all its consequences for a DnD cosmology
>>98858238India.
>>98852384I don't even think you could get it near the caldera without it reaching some kind of moldy pinnacle. Even body heat is enough to set it off, so the ambient air temperature even approaching a volcano should cause it to start spreading rapidly and either hitting some kind of limit or self-propelling all the way up and in.
