How many times must it be spammed? Original content when?
>>
I have been monitoring the group and am at stage 3-ish, because browns actually are interested in the game, so we're basically back to stage 2. Keeping it that way.
>>
>>98853169
Pretty much, its missing another stage where newcommers don't even know it doesn't have to be that way so imitate a bunch of social shit that they hate because its been posed as normal and it perpetuates. Like a part where cultivating a shitty but lucrative base is what companies aim for now.
>>
>>98853169
It happens like this sometimes, sure, but the meme sort of implies it's inevitable. It isn't.
>>
I've personally seen the opposite process more often, where autistic anime creeps slowly infest an online community with their "harmless" art, jokes, and discussions which all happen to revolve around being an irredeemable degenerate, banding together to slowly make it more and more distasteful to anyone with a sense of dignity until the space is untouchable, barren of anyone with actual social or emotional skill, leaving even the clueless autists themselves with a sense of restlessness and dissatisfaction they can't explain

>>98853169
what's stopping them from just continuing to play together with the original rules like in the first image? why do they care how normies play the game? it's almost like they wish they could be around the people who want to "hang out and flirt and smoke/drink or whatever the fuck," they're just angry that those people haven't devoted as much of their life to mastering the rulesets of toy soldier games
>>
>>98853169

It's plausible if you pretend that the corporate interests have no part in any of it and that the current playerbase are just passive experiencers of the phenomenon. Once you take those into account, not so accurate.

On the other hand, "you can do nothing so make room for the new people" is exactly what the corporate interests would like the existing playerbase to believe, so I'm sure spreading the meme suits them just fine.

>What's to stop them from playing original way?
For RPGs? Nothing. For TCGs and other shit that has an evolving ruleset and current releases that cater to those rulesets? That's a big issue. Look at MtG and how half the content is geared toward a secondary play type that standard players don't touch and the influx of meme shit to bring in more normies.
If you view the image as just a fucking group? It's retarded however it was clearly meant to be a take on the hobby on the whole.

That said, fuck gaming. Real men make model trains and build ships in a bottle or do leather work or whittle or many other hobbies that normies will never touch. You want to roleplay? Go hang out with civil war reanctment nerds who spend years making the most accurate gear, using period crafting techniques and tools to just fall in a ditch and pretend to be dead for three hours at the start of a predetermined battle every year.

No.

Good job finding yourself, nogames.
>>
>>98853169
Doesn't apply to TTRPGs because there is no greater hobby. You have full control over your table, and if you don't have friends or can't find like-minded people, you might just be a repulsive individual.
>>
>>98853169
No. The degradation is almost always the result of corporate bullshit trying to make number go up.

404 facts or games not found
>>
>>98853169
No. It doesn't describe a "hobby", it describes specific individual social groups based around an activity that isn't facilitated by the actual participants and only occurs in a specific physical space they also don't control access to.

I can't even think of something other than a teenager playing a card game at the one store their mom drops them off at that this would even apply to. You don't (usually) play role playing games in public, and if your group turns bad you can form a different one and the venue is usually just someone's house, most of the miniature wargaming hobby occurs in your own home where you build and paint models, if the club or LGS you usually would play at turns gay the majority of your hobby isn't impacted and you can just arrange to specifically play with the people you previously played with. LARP and ren fair can totally get ruined in a particular locality I suppose, but I dont think thats really what the picture is about.
>>
It's always been pretty bullshit and control freakish, very revealing of the kind of people who believe in it. Always the kind of person who will insist you are playing the game wrong too. They want to enforce their deals of conformity and hate the idea something they are invested in can naturally change and shift away from their own control.

Nonissue. Have friends. Play how you wanna play.

Sauce?
>>
>>98853169
No, its presenting a false individualistic perspective of the industry that assumes investors are always following the will of consumers rather than pursuing what they assume will make them more money. I also disagree with the original creator of that image's opinion that rules and guidelines are what make a game fun. I pity anyone whose views align with this.

It is objectively correct.
Everything with women in becomes very feminized and lose the focus.
