What do you think the best enemy in a game is?
One you can just easily plop in or make an event behind or they're always interesting to fight
Give your idea of "best" and reason.

My go to would be a Cultist, their zealotry and fanaticism always makes them great to battle.
My second choice would be a Zombie

My favorite is always one that uses a special mechanic that everyone loves to hate

Typically that's grappling in some capacity
So my favorite enemy is the stirge
Consequently I haven't DMed a game in a long time

Did/Do you like ghouls that paralyze?

Nothing beats the evil human wizard with undead/orc/goblin minions.

It's not Puckee, the filename is wrong and he provided an example.

For me, it's slime creatures. They have a history in media of being as strong or weak as you want them to be, and aren't tied to any particular mythology or environment so they never seem out of place.
No, I don't want to fuck a slime, that's stupid.
