Next verse, same as the first
>Experiment 1: Talent Discount
Making a builds where your talent rating in one aura type provides a discount. This is to make basic techniques cheap, master techniques slightly less ecpensive, and leave legend techniques largely the same.
Compare your "G" rating to the rating required for a technique, if you G rating is higher it subtracts it's value from the point cost.
Example:
Seismic Strike costs 6 points to buy.
Your build has G3 in Core.
Seismic Strike only requires G1.
Seismic Strike now only costs 3 points for you.
>Experiment 2: Aura Burst Mode
Kufoku mentions you'll be able to Double your points after completing an Aura Burst campaign, so why not make builds for that?
Make a standard build for your freshly summoned conscript, then making Another build for your conscript after completing all their campaign missions.

The second build gets build and equipment points equal to their starting "Potential"(45 for talented, 35 for mutated, etc). They get no bonus alterations.

Given how the "Prodigy" alteration works,, double these bonus points points for your second build, but equipment points are not doubled
>Experiment #3
The Aura costs of techniques is reduced by taking Training. Each training reduces a specific category of techniqued by 1 star at initiate, 2 stars at master, and 3 stars at legend.

The category of Techniques a Training effects are specific.
Skill Training can reduce aura cost for a techniques below 1, but doesn't make a technique free. Techniques with on aura cost below 1 have a cost from 0.75 to 0.25 of one star

Um. Anon. Committing murder using magic guarantees a fate worse than death. This means only retarded wizards resort to being evil/dark wizards.

You’re still right about other awful things, though. Like the subjugation of house elves and regulation of goblins. Only humans have wand rights/privileges.

They’re (the Ministry) also employing creatures capable of devouring souls (preventing you from existing after death) as casual guards in their prisons.

Rowling is simultaneously wholesome with her magic but also brutal with non-human rights/status.
>>
Harry Potter is funny

“What do you mean magic is about love and soulfulness? That’s kiddo gay shit.”
“Don’t worry. Goblins are literally Jews and Rowling is literally Hitler.”
“She also said wizards shit their pants and wave away the poopy using magic”
“What the fuck”
“In one of her school maps you see two students having sex too.”
“Wooow”
“Also she hates trannies, even in her own books, where magic can literally give you boobs-“
“Just stop”
>>
>>98891133
>She also said wizards shit their pants and wave away the poopy using magic

>t. muggle
>>
>>98891118
>Committing murder using magic guarantees a fate worse than death.
If you're talking about what happened to Voldy boy, that's the use of the Horcrux to split his soul 7+ times. Something less horrible happen with a single Horcrux, but there are no implications of using magic for murder doing that on its own.
>regulation of goblins
Who are objectively cruel and evil, delighting in the pain and suffering of others. Unlike the centaurs and mermaids would likely be fine with wands, but the goblins really shouldn't. The house elves actively wanting to be a slave race suggests that a law preventing them from having wands is likely meaningless.

>was considering having one for Anchors, but a lot of the downside of specialized anchors is how you're stuck with it in some way, so I don't think it would be that balanced.
Fair enough, just a bit sad because tons of anchors have really interesting plots connected.
As a completely different question, in a new dungeon can someone take 2 signature evolutions?
>>
>>98891170
>but there are no implications of using magic for murder doing that on its own.
It’s explicit. The act of murder scars the soul. Only remorse can mend it. Cope.
>>
>>98890612

>>
>>98891202
>Murder scars the soul
Welp i guess the entire ecosystem is souless by now. And someone working in a industrial meat plant must mog voldemort really fucking hard.
>>
>>98891202
That wasn't specific to using magic for murder. It was murder in general. It shouldn't matter if you blast someone apart with magic or beat them to death with a rock. Besides that's just wounding the soul, not guaranteeing a fate worse than death. The only fate worse than death we saw was what happened to Tom, which again was a result of him splitting his soul into so many horcrux.

I'm learned in that stuff, and the basilisk hypothetical falls apart in the face of software engineering. One of the most prominent lessons is that too many cooks will spoil the broth. The best contribution for *most* people is a non-contribution. Or my personal solution - basilisk development goes better in a functioning society. So anyone that contributes to a functioning society is doing their part. A farmer producing food keeps the AI scientists fed.

Who needs anchorless when I can just be the anchor, well poor luck to that random sucker because I will use their body almost 24/7. Possession is great is great weakens banes and gives you free tangibility, visibility and audibility. Time to play around as a Kaiju with reality breaking dreambreaking, wonder if my immunities work on dreamreaking so its also immune to the sun which would make them pretty long lived. At this point its more of a weird lewd looking skinwalker than a ghost.

OC! OC! OC!

Here is my submission for the Vampire and Witch themed CYOA contest. It's my first attempt at the venerable waifu picker genre, for better or worse. I'm still active and have a couple of WIPs in the oven and plan to release one by the end of the year, but had the idea and figured I might as well do a one-pager for the contest. Happy Halloween!

Do the witches here operate off "Witch Awakening" style witchcraft(specifically the old good one, before someone made that overcomplicated mess version)?
If so, does that mean wizard is operating by helicoptorskeleton's wizard cyoa system(designed to be a companion to the original witch awakening)?

The concept of roko's basalisk is comically retarded because it assumes that a superintelligent ai will want to become roko's basilisk, which it won't
It could hypothetically claim to be one, but it would have no empirical reason to dedicate some large proportion of it's limited compute to generating fictitious humans and then torturing them (Which is actually something humans can do anyway, just very poorly. You can imagine your enemies dying in agony)

Someone has to intentionally try and force the superintelligent paperclip machine to become a torture device, because torturing humans does not retroactively convince them to change their path

It's all stupid anyway because if they did that then MY basalisk would synthetically recreate their ai systems on it's hardware and torture them at 0.0000001x speed to save bandwidth

A real question is if a super intelligent ai could do things like solve german idealism or end mind matter disparity, but that would change reality too much for most people to contemplate it

>>98891587
Romancing the witches after fleeing from them is quite possible, as you have the potential to be an extremely powerful vampire one night, and they do want you physically and romantically, to varying degrees depending on the particular witch. It would be difficult to calm them down, however, and you would need to wait until next Halloween for the witch to do the blood magic. In theory, there is nothing symbolic that makes it harder for the witches to enhance your powers after your first blood draining. In practice, after you’ve done it a few times and know what to expect, it will be much trickier for them to weave the very complex, very delicate magic without you instinctively rejecting it.

>>98891601
They do all have their ups and downs. Like most witches, they are malicious toward outsiders but would genuinely care for (You) as an extension of their coven if you accepted their offer.
>>
>>98891716
My issue with the wizard cyoa is that it take 100 years to actually get the powers you bought. Until then, you're basically a chump with level 1 spells and your affinities.
>>
>>98891872
>>98891616
>...So there's a powerful werewolf Shaman leading n army of wolves and a soon-to-be wizards discovering magic from first principles?
That is correct.
>And there's nothing stopping me from bring those guys and most of the gangs in the city to my side?
That is also correct.
>And our vampire powers grow if we drink magical blood?
Again, correct, although you also need considerable training and self-mastery to improve on your own. The witches aren’t stunting your potential, but accelerating it. Essentially, they’re bringing you about a century ahead of where you otherwise would be.
>Freedom is definitely the powergamer option...
Very possibly. The coven is a dangerous foe, however. They’ve had a couple of centuries of magical preptime that they’ve used cautiously, and most of the city’s levers of power are either in their hands or easily influenced by people on their payroll. There is a slight masquerade going on that is both of your interests not to break, as large numbers of armed and organized humans are extremely dangerous.

Defeating the witches in an all-out war would take a lot of strategy, luck, and ferocity on your part. The rewards speak for themselves, however. The werewolves, future-wizard, and gangs are all initially hostile to one another and won’t trust you as a vampire, but they all hate the witches much more and can be reasoned with.
>>
>>98891878
>>98891691
>Do the witches here operate off "Witch Awakening" style witchcraft(specifically the old good one, before someone made that overcomplicated mess version)?
Witchcraft is a complex and multi-faceted discipline. Their magic requires deep, passionate emotion channeled through rituals or (typically weaker, but vastly quicker) spells. Each of them is capable of similar magic but they all have different talents and a different approach. Agatha takes a great deal of whimsy and her own desire for stability and control to infuse her potions, poultices, and mixtures. Mildred thinks of magic as a sort of conscious lucid dreaming and her emotions vary wildly, but have a strong slant towards the sensual or melancholy. Gertrude is full of love and channels that into her crafts, but that same love can flip to hatred and disgust on a dime, and leads to some especially dangerous occult mementos.

>If so, does that mean wizard is operating by helicoptorskeleton's wizard cyoa system(designed to be a companion to the original witch awakening)?
The future-wizard is a deeply, deeply disturbed man. Not in the mentally ill or depraved sense, but rather ethically. He is disturbed by the witches, by their influencing regular people and legends of old curses they’ve woven, and that revulsion is what has fueled his approach. The future-wizard differs from the witches in that he’s obsessively trying to piece together a logical pattern to the witch’s emotional witchcraft. None exists but that doesn’t matter. Eventually, he’ll begin to piece together his own arcane understanding and begin doing true wizardry.
>>
>>98891883
His eventual wizardry will most likely revolve around light or truth, means of searing the wicked and burning through falsehoods. The difference between wizardry and witchcraft is largely the same as that between men and women, and while they both tend to approach magic differently, it is more or less the same deep down. That said, there are massive differences in the actual ritualism and spellcasting. You could learn to use magic on your own, but this is far more difficult for you as a vampire because your potential is so strong. It’s like running a marathon while strapped to a motorcycle. It is a thing you can do, but will take consciously putting off the expansion of your vampirism, on top of the need for abstract thinking that it demands.

>What ruleset are the werewolves operating on?
The werewolves are afflicted by an ancestral curse that drives them to transform and rage during the full moon. They can consciously control their lycanthropy, and either transform into a wolf or a half-wolf form. Most of them are only as strong as the average powerlifter that’s been macrodosing amphetamines, but their senses are superhumanly excellent. Sneaking around them is hard, but they have a difficult time dealing with subtle magic they can't rip and tear into, which is the witches' bread and butter. Their bites by default don’t turn others into werewolves, but they can do a long ritual with someone that they trust to bring them into their pack and spread the curse to them. Most of their numbers are from their clan’s rapid but human reproduction rate. Culturally, they’re an odd, syncretic fusion between deepwoods hillbillies and native american mysticism.
>>
>>98891891
Their magic is deeply shamanistic and involves propitiating the spirits of nature for boons or guidance. Some of the werewolves have spirit gifts and are stronger than the average, around where you would be after becoming a vampire. Their shaman, chieftain, elder, he’s regularly called all of these and fills all of these roles roughly equally, is a champion that the remaining free spirits have chosen to fight the witches, because the spirits are either bound by the witches or hate them for meddling with them. He's as strong as any three other werewolves and has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. The big ones are short-range teleportation while in the wilderness and his own version of regeneration. Normally, the werewolves trend towards ecoterrorism but here, they’re more focused on the witches, who they see as embodiments of modern pollution and corruption.

>>98891711
Hahahahaha. These things always crack me up.

>>98891803
They are all trying their best. Unfortunately, their best is the worst thing that could happen for most other supernatural creatures in the area.

>>98891826
An interesting analysis of the witches. Agatha is the most direct route for physical power and is an extremely good cook/druggist, to the extent that if she weren’t a witch, she could be a michelin chef or top-end pharmacologist. If you helped her with the clutter, she’d be upset and then grateful, just to then start amassing more clutter. Most of this is contained by an enchantment to expand her basement, but she does keep track of everything.
>>
>>98891837
well god personally doesn't tell you that he will torture if you don't worship him, its just humans making threats at his behalf.

But we can't see the future and the robot doesn't need to hold any promises
This is the reverse of newcombs paradox because in that you are implying that through a collection of data about you from your past a robot can identify you, where here we are claiming we can predict the behavior of the robot (Which doesn't exist yet)
Not only does the robot have no reason not to "Betray" when the time comes, it almost can't not, because it has to be a rule avoidant creature to have beomce superintelligent in the first place

Also, all of this fall apart with multiple robots but that's just the same as pascals wager. Super intelligent ai would see other super intelligent ai as real competetors and humans as a background, so in helping a different ai come to exist you are sinner x10,000
>>
>>98891798
Roko's basilisk wouldn't work because the idea of an evil AI that tortures you (or a simulation of you) forever is way too scary for humans. If it replaced the super hell simulation with an orgasmic waifu isekai paradise, it would be more effective as a motivator for being built, rather than a reason for it not to be.

I suppose a much lower-end Lycan's Rise? Assume the average werewolf has around 5-10 points of abilities, and is non-infectious. There aren't many werewolf CYOAs, and Another Werewoof CYOA is vastly stronger than them.

>>98891963
Yes, but these aren't on the same power level and don't have the lupine-kinfolk disparity or delirium. Or at least, any more than someone normally gets seeing a werewolf trying to rip someone in half. The WoD approach is more fun than generic werewolves, I think.

>This is the reverse of newcombs paradox because in that you are implying that through a collection of data about you from your past a robot can identify you, where here we are claiming we can predict the behavior of the robot
It's the same fundamental thing (If A predicts that B will do something seemingly suboptimal in the future, A will reward them now), just that in Newcomb's paradox the AI is the predictor and the human is the subject, whereas in Roko's basilisk the human is the predictor and the AI is the subject.

So the average werewolf has 1 to 2 gifts max and even the alpha-shaman only has around 3-5(because the shaman power 10 points)?

But anyway, any particular sort of Anchor anyone feels like is missing? I'm thinking of adding a couple in the Far Realms, but figured I'd take some crowd input for a slot or two.

I think I will do another full review of the options
Build:

The Yellow Witch:
Powers: D
>Just enhances the strength we already have. Don't give any new options but does add survivability
Living situation: C+
>Sounds fine. Good even.
Task: C
>Gather things, kill a few werewolves, nothing to difficult or strange
Sex with the witch: C+
>Seems good enough. Strange drugs and an adventerous woman
Overall:C+
>A fairly typical sort of employment. Could work

The Purple Witch:
Powers: C
>Shapeshifting is pretty good for avoiding long term detection, as you could slowly assemble a number of identities, but it's only pretty good and the overlap between shadow magic and shapeshifting is too big
>Also, shapeshifting loses some points because you are still a vampire and can't go in the sun, meaning you can't impersonate most people most of the time
Living situation: C
>Just a nice house, the type you could easily get with money or connections
Task: D-
>Gathering papers is a normal, if boring fetch quest, but killing the paranoid fellow sounds distinctly wrong because he sounds a like literally me
>I wouldn't be able to kill literally me with these powers, and I wouldn't try
Sex with the witch: E
>Physically she's pretty good looking, in the way you would expect of an illusionist, and light bdsm would be fine, BUT:
>"She bought a horse ranch"
>uhh
>"A monkeys tail and so, *so* much more"
>She's implying a horse penis.
>She created the entire shapeshifting thing to try and turn us into a chimera she can fuck
>She ATE the last one. Terrible idea.
Overall: E+
>Middling powers and nothing stand out, but most of all I don't want to work with this woman
>Also, ewwwwwwwww.
>I'm not drinking this womans blood

(1/2)
>>
>>98892123
(2/2)
The Green Witch:
Powers: A-
>Hypnosis has good utility, good scaling and is a solid lifestyle benefit
>Seeing the future is obviously great
Living situation: B
>You already had access to slaves from the hypnosis and I don't think I would care for prey someone else captured for me
>If you aren't hunting it it isn't as meaningful
>The charms sound nice to have
Task: E++
>I don't expect this type of thing to be a real danger to you, but it's an obvious drain on your long term health to have a few dozen people see your powers and face and lives
>Also, this expands the control of the witches in the most worrying way
>If you plan on living a long time in a world with vampire hunters "High and low" "abundant" it would be a bad idea to accept a situation where you act so brazenly
>(And I wouldn't trust the intentions of a woman who clearly plans things in advance, sees the future and asks you to kill yourself)
Sex with the witch: D
>Not very good looking for an anime girl, and the vibe she gives off implies she would be controlling in the passive aggressive way, which is extremely unhot. Still alright but not good
Overall: D+
>Power is cool, but it isn't worth tipping your hand over. Ultimately power is a means to control and survival, neither of which are easy with this

Freedom:
Powers: A
We can have any powerset we choose, with enough time
Time something we have an abundance of
Living situation: D
It's life on the run for quite a while, being that vampires are hunted and you have 3 very specific enemies, but you still have freedom and enough power to live off of others
Task: A
Survival is the only thing you need
Sex: B
Multiple women.
Overall: B+
It's what you make of it, but I don't have much doubt that I would rather choose my own powers and my own destiny

Also:
The indignity
I mean seriously what the fuck do these women think they are doing, chaining you up before asking for a favor. THE NERVE.

I choose freedom

What, like you only exist at a certain time of day? I could do that, but I feel like it overlaps with a few other options that limit when you can manifest for some other boost. One of the Vows has your power wax and wane with the moon, for example. Or Eternal Cemetery which has you sleep all day.

This is retarded because whether or not a thing exists is based on what it can effect
If the dulicate is some sort of computer program or similar informational being that cannot effect the outside world then it's literally irrelevant. It's a black box and it doesn't matter what is inside
If the duplicate is a literal clone that exists in the same corporeal reality as me and I can touch then there isn't a duplication issue there's just two of me and it doesn't matter which one I am

The duplicate is perceiving his living in simulation-time, not real time. His suffering is immense, and presumably hard and long enough that he would really do anything to not go through the torture.

>>98892248

What. If you get tortured it's too late, you have already lost, because you didn't want to enter the maximal torture box. Instead the question is whether you decided to subject yourself to maximal torture before that, by not surrendering your station.

But your interests diverge from his interests - the maximal torture in this scenario is harsh enough that avoiding it outweighs any high-minded "I would tell him to focus on the real world" goals that end up subjecting the actual you (inside the simulation) to the maximal torture.

let's put it like this

I am dup > blow up planet > my suffering will end and I get revenge on my jailors
I am dup > do not blow up planet > they turn off the simulation so I still die
I am Dr Evil > blow up planet > dup is freed from his suffering and I kill my enemies
I am Dr Evil > do not blow up planet > will probably get thrown in jail, the people I am blowing up have already shown they are willing to torture people so no point in letting them capture me just so they can throw me in the torture dungeon

blowing up the planet is therefore the only logical action whether you assume yourself to be dup or not

>That's saying "I do not exist to me"
A thing exists when it can effect other things that exist. Any given thing is relative only to the other things about it
If this version of me was capable of affecting the world then it would exist and matter to my decisions
If it is just an ai doing a pantomime then it isn't relevant to anything at all. The ai could just code it to make the other choice anyway
>But your interests diverge from his interests - the maximal torture in this scenario is harsh enough that avoiding it outweighs any high-minded "I would tell him to focus on the real world" goals that end up subjecting the actual you (inside the simulation) to the maximal torture.
It ends up benefiting the real world, where the other me could hypothetically create an infinite number of fake mes and send them through every amount of pleasure
Because the real world actually matters. If the real me could affect one fake me he could affect any number
Derivative worlds, as of such, should see the big picture and off themselves
>>
>>98892289
>I am dup > blow up planet > my suffering will end
Wrong, you are arguing against the premise of the whole thing: the maximal torture you are subjected to is explicitly said to outweigh other considerations:
>"Dr. Evil’s evil plans are not worth the risk of torture. So I ought to surrender."
Arguing that "maybe the torture isn't all bad and long" is sartreing the weight of the torture to be something other than what it is explicitly said to be.

The average werewolf is strong but not superhumanly so, essentially a stronger than average man at his genetic potential, gone berserk. They get by heavily on squad tactics and prefer an ambush to a straight fight. Non-silver attacks have a lesser effect, but they can be put down by suppressive fire. One in five or so is twice as strong and has one low-end magic trick or two. The shaman himself is a proper magician strong enough to fight a x4 amped vampire (You) and not get immediately broken in half. He has a lot of tricks and experience with them, but suffers from a severe weakness to silver and doesn't have your vampiric growth potential. A pack of werewolves could feasibly threaten a black ops special forces squad that wasn't prepped for them. The government is vaguely aware that they exist and tries to avoid them, because silver is expensive, and werewolves and spirits are terrifying.

A very intricate breakdown of the witches and options. There is a lot of subjectivity, but I would say this is very well-reasoned. Mildred would claim she didn't do anything untoward with a horse and simply got too invested in racing them, but much of this boils down to how much you trust her as a person. Keep in mind that the other witches are trying to present each other in the worst possible light.

>>98892155
Initially, the shadowmancy consists of mundane darkness, which is extremely useful for a vampire. You could hold a shell of shadows to insulate you from the sun for longer than normal. Significant effort and study could improve your grasp of the shadows to make them more solid, manifesting simple barriers and blades. I would say that the difficulty curve is equivalent to learning martial arts.

A deeply respectable route.

>If you just rough up the wolves, will they stop being so hostile?
If you kill enough of the werewolves, they’ll be frightened of you but also respect your strength. In a werewolf fashion, this will make them more eager to fight you and prove that they’re built different. If you manage to wipe out half of them or slay their shaman, they’ll flee the area rather than risk extinction.

>What will Agatha think of that?
Agatha would be VERY pleased with anything you do to drive off the werewolves. She doesn’t hate them personally, but is frustrated with their resistance as they make it much harder to gather ingredients for her works.

>Why are the witches so hated?
The Autumn Bloom is hated because it has repeatedly tried to exterminate, exile, or employ other supernatural forces in the region. They want to gather as much power and stability as possible so they can be left to their own devices, but as witches are dangerous and the city is lucrative to hold, they’ve been met with significant opposition. Much of this hatred is one-sided but the witches do feel entitled to own the city, and they do all have a grudge towards hunters because almost all of them will also target witches in addition to other monsters. The fact that most witches are hostile to society or prone to magical atrocities doesn’t factor into it.

>Can i convince her not to be a total asshole to the other factions? Dont like my chances as an outsider here.
You can convince Agatha to treat the werewolves more diplomatically, but it would be an uphill battle. She doesn’t have a personal vendetta, she just wants to be rid of them so she can dig up rare mushrooms for her esoteric potions without needing to set up meticulous defenses. If they somehow killed or hurt one of the witches, that would change, and she would get a vicious grudge. Of the three, she is the most dangerous in a direct, physical confrontation.

The witches initially had no specific intention of getting a vampire servant, but saw the alarm bells ringing during their routine monthly divining circle for future threats. Once they realized what they were dealing with, they all became overexcited, if not outright giddy, and started preparations immediately. The witches are in a bind romantically, as none of them want to ‘date down’ with a regular human man but they don’t trust wizards. You, as a vampire, are an extremely attractive proposition and otherwise, generally fall within their type of man.

For many, many years, every problem they’ve had they’ve solved with magic, and this has become a more or less subconscious impulse. In their years of paranoid ritualism, the thought of just talking to you normally is almost impossible to reckon with. This is very much a rush job on their end and the year of servitude is the most direct means they could devise to get you involved with one of them. They’re terrified of you rejecting them and slipping away, but don’t want to confront the fact that their magic might be what drives you off. Odds are, you're less nervous with the ritual circle than they are.

Okay but what if you don't? It's not as though it is logically impossible for you to be convinced not to do that, so it shouldn't be logically impossible for a super AI to figure out how get you to not do that.

Also this isn't about rock paper scissors, and there IS no 'just pick the other thing' in transparent Newcomb's Paradox/Roko's Basilisk that doesn't already apply to the normal version of the problem. >Like, genuine question, why the fuck is the cyoa a one pager if you have this much information on it?
The CYOA doesn't need to be longer, because it only has the one choice. Relationships are complex and there's a lot of surrounding factors, but those don't factor in much to the immediate situation.

>How is a player supposed to divine any of this?
All of it is implied in the CYOA, isn't it? Apart from anon being able to learn magic, but that isn't the focus of the CYOA so it wasn't explained more. These answers are just elaborating more on what was my intent when writing in response to anon's questions.

>Do you plan to show up every time the cyoa is posted?
No. I don't really repost my own work, but I'm generally around to answer any questions or explain my reasoning.

>This level of information is either too important to be left out or worthless because it's not in the cyoa so the player has no way of knowing it.
It is all very tertiary to the CYOA, just expanding more on what's already hinted at. I figure that anon's headcanon is as big a part of any CYOA as the CYOA itself, if not more. It is his adventure after all. I've always thought that any authorial statements outside of a CYOA is just the author's headcanon, which can be good for insights but doesn't necessarily take precedence over what's in the text.

That's just flatly incorrect. Transparent Newcomb's paradox is literally already a thing that exists in the world of philosophy. Because whether or not you can see inside the boxes, it's always true that people who pick one box typically end up £999000 richer, and it's always true that the money has been placed before you enter.

Would be cool to befriend the wolves at least, rather than driving them off completely. Good way for you to practice your martial skills too, maybe a semi-consistent supply of werewolf blood will make me stronger?

Complicated situation about the city, but once someone considers a place to be theirs, you just know that blood is going to be spilled. Best you can do is to not be nearby when the keg tilts over.

If one desires to hunt and kill ones sire, what is to be expected of their abilities? Can i bolster my strength if i drain them of blood? It´s mainly for revenge, but nice to get something else out of it.

A New Ghost v2 (Update)
Changelog:
You can now be both Weak and Immune to a Bane (which just ignores the Immunity). Not particularly different from the existing terminology, but it makes it more clear that Immunities from Anchors and such don't overrule Weaknesses.
Ectoplasmic Body Archetype now grants the ability to move your ectoplasm remotely, if you can see it. I don't have it detailed in it anywhere, but this isn't accurate enough to replace Tangibility - it's more for directly a flow or splashing a wave into someone.
Several more extra info entries at the end.
4 new Signature Powers
6 new Special Anchors
1 new Favor (put in the middle of the list: Princess Support
And a new page (page 9, the old page 9 is now page 10) for Vows - drawbacks that give either power tiers or other unique boosts.
Also added a little version number at the top-left.

>maybe a semi-consistent supply of werewolf blood will make me stronger?
It's better than human blood, but nowhere near as refined as a witch's blood.

>If one desires to hunt and kill ones sire, what is to be expected of their abilities?
Your sire is an extremely old, centuries old vampire, with all of the powers on offer to a decent degree of refinement. He is also massively weakened by turning you, unexpectedly so, and is now on par with an average human and will be for the next decade or so. The implications of this are terrifying to him. Right now, he's trying to get the hell out of there, cover his tracks, and stay far, far away from you in the future. He is very, very good at covering his tracks.

>Can i bolster my strength if i drain them of blood?
It wouldn't give you much direct improvement like magical blood, but would give you a better understanding of yourself as a vampire. You could consider it an improvement to your learning speed. Otherwise, it would be a couple of centuries before you gained the same insight. His motivation for turning you into a vampire is mostly that it had been a few generations since he last did and you happened to be there.

Depends on type of witch. Some witches are just pagans that worship fairies like they're gods. You'll know the difference by how much fairy calling and nature magic vs necromancy and defaced religious symbols they use.
Both get BTFO by Iron though. All spirits are weak to iron.

I'm not so into the enhancements she gives me, but they are certainly useful. Mostly I like her approach; she seems like a straight shooter. I would also like to try learning her magic, and if nothing else I'm a crafty guy so I could tag along with my mundane work. Freedom is tempting but honestly I'd rather get a glimpse behind the scenes with an established group like this, and I should eventually be able to head out on my own anyway. Nice job man! Exactly what I was hoping for with this contest. You did well keeping the witches away from a stupid porn caricature. I could actually see myself enjoying any of the options

In christian tradition, a vampire is a demon possessed corpse. There's a good chance your soul already moved on and the vampire is a demon that Thinks it's you because it's thinking with your brain and has your memories.

Sweet! Love drawbacks, love to make compromises to gain more power and find creative ways to overcome my drawbacks. Drawbacks are S tier CYOA design, and every CYOA can be made better with a nice drawback section, no exceptions!

>difficulty section
I detest the majority of difficulty sliders, as they usually are just "choose your starting points" which makes the standard starting point the highest option, and the CYOA is not balanced for that option. But why the fuck would you take any difficulty option other than the highest since it is logically the best option? Fucking hate that bullshit, retarded design. If you get more points, there need to be some kind of drawbacks. I can only think of 1 CYOA that I like with a difficulty section (Choose a Power Level), which is the Hunter CYOA, pic realted.

I seriously hope that your drawback section isn't just a lazy difficulty slider.

>>98892894
It's a stand-alone, optional mini-page. Like cheat codes in a video game, they're not the 'intended' way to play the CYOA, but ultimately, you can do whatever you want. That's why I used Goku as the imagery, to capture goofier, lighthearted vibes.

for >>98892924

As for >>98892894 I meant to say,
I tried to make them a little harsh so it would mostly be figuring 2 or 3 extra points that fit well enough with a build. I hope they are to your liking.

>It's a stand-alone, optional mini-page. Like cheat codes in a video game, they're not the 'intended' way to play the CYOA, but ultimately, you can do whatever you want.
Don't legitimize cheating Satrefags with a DLC, if those animals want to cheat, they will do it regardless. Adding legitimate cheat options will just devalue the CYOA and make it worse.

I really like this drawback section. It's the first time I've seen drawbacks that give unique benefits rather than points. I like it so much that I think I'm gonna use this concept in a future CYOA, either the Vidja Valhalla-inspired CYOA or maybe the Avatar CYOA I had in mind.

>Fight the V

I really think such extremely open ended and mysterious options don't work well within cyoa format. At all.
>>
>>98893246
First, why do you need the cyoa to hold your hand like that? Can't you actually choose your own adventure? Those open ended options are the best, because they offer the most freedom.
Second, I'm pretty sure that one isn't actually as open ended as you think. That's one of the outer gods from beri's other cyoa, a new avatar, so you already know what's happening there and what she's roughly capable of.

Updated Symbol of Warping to go in a far more lust based direction. Now I can actually use technology, am not Innocent so I'm able to harm people, can possess people to take physical form and am much harder to exorcise. In exchange I am very dependent on lust, (given my powers that should be extremely easy to satisfy) and have more weaknesses (that are resisted by possessing people).
>>
>>98893290
I meant that type of existence, but the context makes her similar to the River Of Souls one, there is literally one called that if I remember right. Or she could be just an avatar. Either way, it's not as unfathomable as it appears because you have a reference.

I want my ghost form to be black with some cyan details. Initially, I thought I should pick Hybrid Plasm, but when reading it it says I can be 1 of the 2 colors or a swirling or flashing mix, which is not what I want. So is the only option to attain my desired aesthetic to choose prismatic ectoplasm, which has no real benefits other than being aesthetic?

Is there a ghost internet? like chatrooms where ghosts can talk to one another on the real internet, a secret ghost chatroom? Also, does the ghost train deliver people to purgatory?

Was there nowhere else you could get the single point that Dreamrip essentially offers, or is it that you were particularly interested in it automatically making reality changes based on your own desires?

>>98893246
That's why I mix it in with plenty of less open-ended ones, so that if it's not your thing, you can just go for any of the others.

>>98893274
>>98893290
I actually intended that option to be a sort of inner god - something that lacks the 'infinity' of outer ones, but that is a deity-level power contained within this universe.

>>98893316
I'd be a little wary of a couple of your Weaknesses, at least - namely Silver and Salt, which could mess up your possession if you're not careful. But that said, you've got good Vitality and it's not like you're murdering people so I can't imagine there'd be much of a concerted effort for anyone to exorcise you. I like that you're going all-in on a Weird Diet.

>>98893326
I'd go for Hybrid Plasm - I wanted to add more examples of ways they could mix, but was running against the text limit. Highlights are well within the realm of what I intended.

>>98893339
I laughed at that. Thank you.

>>98893433
If you want supernatural Internet, look no further than the Hellweb! Hell game up with dimensional Internet first, so now everyone that wants to stay connected uses it, even Heaven. But you can also find ghosts on the regular Internet - if you can filter out people just roleplaying as a ghost or such. The Ghost Train delivers people to the River of Souls that leads to Purgatory, but sometimes it might stop inside the office building to let passengers out, if that's an easier distance. If it's your Anchor, you could request it stop there rather than at the river and it would be happy to oblige. You could say 'hi' to the Titan ghosts.

>>98893457
I'm glad you like them! Thanks!
>>
>>98892608
>Soul Contract
At first I thought this was a free drawback if you make a contract with a mortal. Since they won't be ordering you around once they die. But the more I think about it, the more this seems like a trap option. I have no clue what it means to not have a soul. I think I would rather have a soul than 1 measly power tier...
>>
>>98893511
It's only a timeshare. You still own the majority of your soul, and if you move on to the afterlife, you get it back (since you're the majority owner). You could theoretically trade for that share back, but it isn't something the person would part with easily, and mind-controlling effects would nullify and new agreement you try to make to end the arrangement, too. In short, soul-law is robust enough that you don't need to think about the existential problems associated with it. As for your timeshare owner dying, the timeshare would then get inherited to their next of kin or someone they specify in their will (and again, as this is a matter of soul, warping reality or forging a signature isn't enough to overrule the mortal's decision). Given enough time, you're likely to end up fully owning your soul again even before moving on to the afterlife, but it's unlikely to happen within a single mortal lifetime.

I like the increased flexibility in this version, although I didn't really have a problem with the amount of points in the original. This is sort of a spin on votive candles. I'm not sure how to phrase it but material consistency is very important to me in my builds and my own CYOAs, and it's something that is both encouraged and frustrated by Beri CYOAs, which often rely on elements, strange substances, or whatever. For my first build I was inspired by a predatory jelly, which seemed apropos considering the ectoplasmic ghost thing. Now I'm going for wax and fire. I intend mostly to help people, but I'm hoping that Pacifism will be overridden in part by Weaver of Vows, in that I can write in consent to being harmed (only mildly, probably) as a component of the vow. It wouldn't do to completely negate some of the more powerful curses

>Was there nowhere else you could get the single point that Dreamrip essentially offers, or is it that you were particularly interested in it automatically making reality changes based on your own desires?
Was maybe considering picking dreambreaking back again after i cutted it down to save on points and having that "discount" in exchange for having reality subconsciously warped to my inner desires and stuff sounded fine on my book and made it more appealing to retake.
Besides chances are that whatever shenanigans my deepest self ends up leaking into reality might be more fun than whatever i would think of personally.

Beri cyoas are usually innocuous and comfy, they avoid most problematic things and manage to have a pretty neutral perspective. Even cyoas that would look like btg at first glance aren't, like Fairy Queen or Royal Revival, I think there are only 1 or 2 beri cyoas that are actually forced btg.
It just so happens that beri made the mistake of making the supposedly unkowable eldritch entities waifu shaped while failing to give you any sort of special connection with them. Anons don't want to share a waifu with everyone else who picked the same patron.
