is fab close to mtg in terms of popularity yet?what about one piece? riftbound?
is there still no one who leak japan sales ranking from media create for 2025-2026 fiscal year
>>98894145There was a website that used to do top 10s or top 5s every month for Japanese TCG sales but they stopped doing it for some reason.
>>98894125Product vs product without (((creative))) accounting obfuscating shit, One Piece most certainly has hit Magic numbers. But Pokemon outperforms both by far. YGO is 4th with Riftbound and Lorcana switching 5th/6th on release by release basis. Then Gundam, Union Arena, DBS, Digimon, FF, Weiss, Sorcery, Vanguard, SWU, Shadowverse, FAB, Grand Archive, Cookie Run and the fad of the quarter with the current one being Palword make up the rest of the top 20.Secondary market indexes are pretty much the same except Riftbound is way off the top 10. With Pokemon, Magic and One Piece being six digit monsters. YGO, Union Arena and DBS being around $60K. Digimon, Lorcana and Gundam on the $30Ks and everything else below $20K.
>>98894061>Are TCGs better with more or less deck consistency in their gameplay, and why?thats never a "better or worse" thing. making more consistent decks (whatever the means) means skill expression gets bigger and RNG importance gets less. but whether thats good or not depends on the game. more consistency will make a game rewarding in depth but harder to get new people into. and if the game is of a type that's easy to math/break, too much consistency makes it degenerate. thats why commander is prefd for mtg, the game goes to shit if decks are too consistent so formats with mroe RNG are more fun.
>>98894125FABs doing fine but if it was gonna do that it would have happened when it was blowing up in 2020/2021. games don't really get a second peak once they're on the backslope of their growth curve.

>>98894536Kickstarter Anime "fixed MTG" with no IP. It's DOA.
>1930's alternate history>WWII avoided by early demonstration of nuclear bomb>industrial boom to employ all the people who would have been killedHow much story or setting do you prefer in your ACG? Do you get all your lore through the cards or do you seek out additional story?
>>98895032I've never really cared to go out of my way to understand the story of any card game I've played, but I like it when I know that thought has gone into it, and that I could dive into it if I wanted. I like seeing flavor text and art with recurring characters and factions and stuff like that.
>>98894536Someone here said it's riftbound but better but in about 2 months it'll just be riftbound but deader
>don't care for the cyberpunk TCG>watch edgerunners season 2>now I care for the cyberpunk TCG I was the pig all along uh
>>98895032I think tcgs are a very unexplored medium for storytelling. Early mtg had the right idea of using the cards to show bits and pieces instead of creating a cohesive narrative. Basically good for showcasing a setting, bad for telling a traditional story
>>98894061Lolita porn op. This place is pure cancer now.
Pulled this card in foil last night at an LGS that just started sorcery events.I won the game that I played but it was a pretty chaotic event and I didn't realize they were playing a tournament at the same time and I lost all my matches lol.
>my store's EB05 pre-release got delayed to next week because of a delay in their EB05 delivery>meanwhile some rip n ship fags on whatnot are already opening OP18 boxes which isn't even releasing until next monthok, whatever bandai
>>98894061Wtf I love card games now?
>>98895264Lorcana does a pretty good job with storytelling... cards give hints towards plot points to the story via art or flavor text, while some sets paint a more definite picture using the filler insert cards in the booster packs to detail a short story.
Blatant nudity on cards isn't allowed on blue boards. If you guys were wanting things to improve around here you'd flag obvious posts like that.
nta but nobody cares about wanting to improve anything, Karen, it's fucking /acg/ on 4chan. I mean, literally, nobody cares except you. If you do, ask for mod status and handle it yourself (for free) or go back to ledd*t.
>>98895933You're arguing that no body cares, but why the fuck do you care about being off topic and divisive of the intended topic in the thread every day? Go to literally any other fucking pink board and you can post the most graphic child rape possible, and you will get applauded for doing so. Why? Because those places are on topic, but not here, a game board for people who like them. We don't care how tragic your childhood abuse was or how lonely you are today because of your abhorrent disregard for innocence. We just want to discuss card games, without a reminder that the whole fucking world is under the stranglehold of filthy rich cannibalistic pedophiles!!CARDGAMESTHREAD
>>98896038Posting cards from an /acg/ is on topic. That fact doesn't change just because you don't like the art.
>>98896058I'm pretty sure posting pony shit tcg to this board is still against the global rules
>>98896087And? If you've been on 4chan for more than 2 seconds, you'd know that the images in OP aren't NSFW by 4chan blue board standards and therefore aren't against the rules.
>>98896078Cute, but I wish there weren't boys in the art. It's such a shame. It'll go in the database but not in my physical collection.
>>98896111It's an /acg/ regardless though so go ahead and post your rainbow foil Pinkie Pie faggot. I just piped up to let you know you're wrong despite being based.
>>98896142Wrong about what?
Yes yes, but what games *feel* cute to play?
Im looking to get the best cards to goonWhat do you guys recommend?
>>98896038I'm not arguing anything. I'm telling you, and believe me when I say this, that nobody here cares except you. How is OP's image not on topic? They're legitimate cards from alternative card games. Whether or not he posted them just for the art or the game, it's still technically on topic and no amount of mental gymnastics will change that fact. 99% of people here don't even play the games they post about, so don't try to act like that suddenly matters. You're having a meltdown because you dislike the art and you're trying to justify that emotional meltdown by saying it's against the rules when it's not. You're projecting your own childhood trauma onto me, even though I explicitly stated that I have no stake in this matter, you're insane. You're on 4chan, not ledd*t. This isn't your safe space. I would've suggested that you apply to become an unpaid moderator again, since that's clearly what you want to be. But people like you, who are control freaks, tend to fit right in with the moderators on ledd*t, so please, go apply there and leave this place.
>>98896214>youI don't have to be a lewd card poster to disagree with you. If you see something against the rules, report it.This isn't reddit. Suggestive images with no visible genitalia or nipples aren't against the rules on blue boards.Your seething has shit up these threads 1000 times more than any loli card poster.
Half of a starter set is done. I should have a prototype to bring to Protospiel MN in January. I'm opting to make a new game, rather than a direct fan-made expansion. Theme is high mages wanting a battle of wits without the messy cleanup of a proper battle. So they play this wild chess-like game instead. When you capture a scoring tile, you place a diadem on it at the end of the round. During the next round, that diadem scores you points until the enemy removes your diadem. First to 10 points with at least a 2 point lead wins. You only have 4 diadems at your disposal, too.In other news, one of my board games will be at Games By James next month, just in time for the holiday season. This includes their store in the Mall of America. To say I am excited is a gross understatement.>>98895032I'm with >>98895109. I don't go out of my way to follow the lore on most TCGs, but the exposition via flavor text is always fun. Don't put too much effort into it, but don't completely sleep on it either.>>98896181Sailor Moon

>>98896142>Pinkie PieOh good, you're familiar with Best Pony.
>>98896332No. There is another...(... Lorcana player here.)
>>98895410Nice, always feels great to pull a foil in sorcery>I didn't realize they were playing a tournament Yeah most sorcery events will end up being a swiss-system tournament, so everyone can get currency called "dust" to get things from the promo shop. The top finishers get extra dust
>>98896142>Pinkie PieShe's the best! After Luna.
(repeating from previous thread)Yep, ZENONZARD is turbo dead. Bandai shut down the site with the print and plays, along with the card database... ...at least I saved all of it.Also the TTS mod and the show are still up.
>>98895032I'm not representative of the ideal focus group consumer, but I always prefer an impressionistic approach when it comes to the actual cards.Show me scenes from your world, maybe even major events, but keep me feeling like I'm getting second or third hand info. Flavor text is least cringe when it's vague narration or encyclopedic in nature - please don't use quippy quotes or loredump paragraphs in the flavor text.If I get hooked by the vibes, and you trust me to infer things about your world, then I'll probably seek out more explicit info elsewhere. If I feel sick with cringe just reading my cards, I won't bother.
>>98896533>launched in 2020What the fuck?
>>98896470This may sound retarded but I got there after signing in and played like 2 games and ate some food and left and went 0-4 not even realizing they were playing a tournament, I thought it was just a casual event lol.
>>98896332I was fascinated learning this game had a whole plotline with arcs to it. Did Hades ever cash in on that one line about having plans in August?
>>98895119If they're not retarded and expecting sixty gorillion per fiscal quarter, like Riot, they can survive indefinitely.tcgs are so cheap to make you really can't be run off the market unless you fuck up on purpose, i.e. taking unsurmountable debt for five digit payouts on ten people tournaments, like Upper Deck.So long as you don't make entirely unproven stuff with dysfunctional tech that scares people away or makes it inherently hard to share your game online, like... I don't even remember her name.In the end if you really have zero traction just make it a lcg. You'll never see tcg money but you can keep "dying" and coming back to a captive audience that legit loves your game and isn't in it just for hustling, like L5R.
>>98896332The digital client will save us, just trust the plan bros...
>>98896816No, I think they must have changed the story around, because the next 'big bad' ended being 'The Vine' which was fought by Hunny Wizard Pooh and his D&D party. The newest set, which I think is out in February, features Hades, and it's called Into The Inkdark. I think THAT was the plans he was hinting toward, the date just got changed.
>>98896852I am looking forward to that, honestly.
>>98896760Honestly, even though most events are "tournaments" its still the most chill environment for card gaming I've seen so far. Sorcery seems to filter out spergs and everyone gets free dust just for signing up, so there's a pretty casual atmosphere anyways. Even the larger sanctioned events I've been to have been this way
>>98896867Well, actually, now that I think about it, it's possible he could have been referring to NEXT August, and maybe that would be the next Illumineer's Quest. If that's true, then Hades will be the 'big bad' for at least a few sets.
>>98896181Neopets feels pretty cute with the art and rolling the dice with the sparkles and stars on them and whatnot.
At this point just report and ignore the "THINK OF THE CARDBOARD CHILDREN!!1" retard getting mad about anime cards being posted on the card game board on a anime website.
>>98896236>This isn't reddit. Suggestive images with no visible genitalia or nipples aren't against the rules on blue boards. And yet when I post a certain Illuminati card as OP, it gets deleted and I get a warning.

>>98896332Lorcana really fucked up by 1) having strict deckbuilding restrictions by color and 2) NOT having themes/archetypes stick to one color. My turbonormie sister was excited about Lorcana when she heard of it, but instantly lost interest when she learned that she can't actually make a "Beauty and the Beast" deck or "Aladdin" deck or whatever.
>Box 2 and 3 of the L99 version of Sakura Arms exist on the open market at moderate to heavy markup>Box 1 does not appear at allI fucking knew I'd regret not buying into the kickstarter.
>>98899174Tell me more.
>>98899211I own all 3 boxes and basically never play with them, I am in Aus thoI also don't actually have the boxes, just the cards and tuckboxes because the retard I bought them from binned them and the additional boards???
>>98899191>lost interest when she learned that she can't actually make a "Beauty and the Beast" deck or "Aladdin" deck or whateverMakes sense. I feel like it's super important for multi IP games to have it be viable to make decks themed around one particular IP, at least for casual play.

>>98899264
>>98899388Has there been anything new about it? I only saw the initial announcement stuff which was a grand total of one card with no rules for context.
>>98899404They started posting the rules and showed multiple cards already, also the CoroCoro magazine has a deck you can play with.
>>98899264>>98899396The QR code is unfortunate, and the gameplay just sounds like Triple Triad (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but the art is acceptable.Thank you for sharing, anon.
>>98899430>kittyYou have my attention.Have you tried the demo? Is it fun?
>>98899437No sadly. I was hoping for more info around /acg/.
>>98894536It's something I'm thinking about so it's not doomed.
>>98896332Thank goodness. Disney has no place in the world. Sorry Lorcana fans, you seem nice but this cannot continue.
>>98899430Seems like a Duel Masters clone with lane based combat. The demographic overlap with DM seems pretty strong and they're both published by Takara Tomy, so I still wonder how this is gonna avoid getting cannibalized by DM.
>>98899191They've somewhat fixed that over time, though. It's easy to build a Lilo and Stitch aggro deck now, Toy Story decks were common in recent sets, and even Beauty and the Beast had a themed deck while they were focusing on dual-color cards. The trouble is that some themes just aren't that competitive, and the meta leaves them behind in the dirt. Like the recent Winnie the Pooh cards, where having Christopher Robin in the deck meant that you could put cards of any color in as long as they had the 'hunny' keyword, which was a fun idea, but just wasn't strong enough to take seriously. There's also certain franchises that aren't that great on their own, but work really well with another, like how you can match Darkwing Duck with The Incredibles to make a great Superhero deck, or switch it up and add Zootopia instead to make a Detective deck. I personally went with a Mickey and Minnie deck with a heavy splash of Kevin from Up for the last Set Champs, and at least 2 other players did the same.
>>98899485Disney hate has always been the main thing that keeps Lorcana down. Yet the IP also keeps us afloat. It's a frustratingly illogical existence. You're not wrong to hate a giant evil empire, but they wouldn't be giants if the world didn't love the product they churn out. We all claim to hate Disney, but each day we fuel them to continue to hold their grip over us. I'm not sorry that I love this card game. Let those among you that have never supported the Mouse cast the first stone
>>98899675>>98899649I think the main problem is that the majority of "good" decks are just "goodstuff.dek" in whatever two colors have the best 15 cards.
I'm sorry that Disney fans now have to put up with an overwhelmingly negative opinion about Disney, but I assure you the hate is very very well deserved because they ruined so much that was good about themselves that it is difficult to carry on like nothing happened. In other words they're getting what they deserved, but that unfortunately means it's difficult to be a modern fan of theirs. The job requires that you look past a lot of fucking awful decisions they've made handling their own IPs in order to extract enjoyment out of them, and for many that spell broke a long time ago. All anyone sees these days are the sum of their mistakes, not the monumental good that they achieved over a lifetime of accomplishments. Sad, really, but deserved.
>>98899698I've really never understood this argument. If it's good stuff, why WOULDN'T you put it in a deck?
>>98899741You don't have to justify your hatred of Disney, we all have it to some degree, even if we play Lorcana. We get it. We're at peace with it.
>>98899744It's not the deck builders fault, it's the developers. If they provide synergy - which they've improved recently with the aforementioned toys and Lilo & Stitch and Detective decks - then every deck isn't the best individual cards from 2 given colors. It's the difference between the Micky & Minnie card and Hades - both good cards, but the former needs a lot of the deck built around it while the latter fits into literally any purple deck as a 4-of.And I think it's boring to play against meta after meta entirely dominated by decks built of Hades type cards.
>>98899675But you're still supporting the mouse right now. That's different than realizing and then avoiding.
>>98899388>another vtumer tcgjfc.
>>98899755>boring to play against meta after meta entirely dominated by decks built of Hades type cardsOK, I get that, but I personally prefer to build without relying on the meta, and though the people I play with often admonish me for not playing Popular Card X, I find it funny how many of my ideas end up in the decks that turn up at Set Champs. Sometimes if you defy the meta, you become the meta. People are sheep. Build decks that surprise them. (but also lose a bunch in the process, because that's the reality of things... no one said it was an easy path)
>>98899749It's not about me, it's about the lifetime fans they took a fat piss on and then blamed the victims for causing it to rain.
>>98899774I did say 'we' all support the Mouse, yes. I'm also not sorry for doing so. I think you missed my point. If you're telling me that you avoid doing so completely, you're a ridiculous liar.
>>98899787And I'm one of those pissed-on fans. That's what I'm saying... it's all good, bro.
>>98899794>it's all good, bro.No. No it really fucking isn't.
>>98899795No, no, between you and me, it is. We can just keep on hating Disney. I've got no beef with you, is what I'm saying.
You've come to the realisation I had years ago, about how corpos don't just control money and power, but your own feelings as well. It's a devastating thought to have, but somehow the acg thread on tg doesn't feel like the right place to have this conversation
>>98899381I wish I knew how...
>>98899792Depending on how many chains of causality you reach, I suppose yes, but avoiding anything clearly from the Disney company and of recent creation seems doable?
>>98899984>avoiding anything clearly from the Disney company and of recent creation seems doable?Well yeah. Even the most hardcore Disney fans avoid recent Disney. But that's more because current Disney sucks than any form of altruism. That's why Disney relies so heavily on nostalgia.

>>98896332Lorcana failed to appeal to collectors of "muh-Disney" stuff. that should have been the priority.it should have been invincible. highly sought after collectible art pieces. even if some cards were flops, other cards in the set would boost interest and maintain sales.but the cards focus so much on text boxes, making them look [not as great as they should have] and there is NO indication on the card about WHERE the character/thing is from. oh, you don't know? sucks for you! you should know. (are they really saving money on leaving off a Zootopia logo or even text on this card?! why??! it's Disney's card game, why should they "save money" but not using logos or names of properties? that's ludicrous.)why make me buy a case of cards for ONE freaking full-art card? why aren't they ALLLLLL beautiful cards?

Instead I have like half of the male cast in foil versions (nasus, renekton, greaves, ekko, jarvan, mordekaiser etc etc... multiple of some as well), and just like a some scuffed kayle/riven versions to go with all of that male bulk. >>98901318Eh, it's bland as fuck. There's not a ton of design space in the rules, and for a "fixed MTG" ruleset they don't really try to do anything very interesting except the (usually unimportant) dice rolling and very short games.
>>98901099>>98901318have played it, it's whatever.just a reskin of the same mtg-base shit we've all seen 300 times. it's also hyper focused on the cyberpunk vidya lore and characters to the exclusion of the rest of the setting. not a great look for a first set, feels marketing driven.

Took a chance on a new binder because my previous one was unbearably annoying with how the pages towards the front and back sharply bent when filled with cards. The name is very fitting considering the kinds of cards I collect.I didn't want 12 pocket but it was their only product with a large capacity (480). 360 was just way too tiny. I really prefer 9 pocket for my unique brand of sorting autism. Pages look so much more appealing with a center image controlling the overall loose theme. Now there's usually a random blank spot. Multiples of 3 is a lot easier to work with. Can't believe there's no binder out there that's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for reading my blog. This is a cry for help in case anyone knows a good 9 pocket binder that doesn't bend and holds a lot.
>>98902622heh
>>98902639I dunno, I think I'd prefer a 12 pocket, as most of the games I play deal in multiples of 4, but everyone has their own kinks.
>>98902639Goat Armor makes great stuff. Their top-loaders are the clearest ones that aren't a single continuous piece that I've ever seen, and no blue hue like some have.
>>98902664I like it so far. I have it filled up now (took me 4 hours to transfer everything) and true to its name the pages do, indeed, stay flat. Color me surprised. Although there is a slight bend on the first/last page's inner columns, it's far within my margin of tolerance. The bend is no where near close to the level of bend that my other binder had. I don't have to tilt my damn head or the entire binder to see those cards anymore! Wish the logo was on the spine instead of the cover though. At least I can cover it with stickers.

League vampires suck in the wrong way, but if they made a Katarina precon that's a self-contained and strong out of the box as the Blood Witch deck I might go back.

The mom came screaming at me saying I kicked her kid on purpose and the owner and gundam players all came and proceeded to pick me up and literally threw me out! >>98906238How many days until a ban? She's pretty broken, I don't what they were thinking giving her that ability.
>>98906436riot definitely wants to avoid banning a legend outright, especially while there it is the only way you can play that legend right now until they print a new riven at some point. they did the same with draven earlier this yearwhile riven's ability is definitely really strong as well as having a really strong CC (riven, broken blade), i think it's a compounding factor of a few things>stellacorn herder>astral heron>star springthe 1st and 3rd make the meta even more non-hold friendly. riven is just drawing tons of cards from moving herder all the time, and star spring is just letting people move units freely back to base without having to commitastral heron is also just included most legends right now that have the calm domain, but it also sees itself right now as the first card being played in a turn so it gets value right off the turn it's playedmovement in general is one of the strongest things in this game. riven abuses this to an absurd degree and it's not like some other decks aren't guilty of this either (irelia)
>>98906556Yeah movement is strong, but the fact that she gives every single unit in her deck accelerate is insane. The moment she holds a battlefield, every unit in the deck skips a turn the moment they're played which means she's always ahead compared to a normal deck that has to either wait a whole turn or pay 2 to do the same play she just did. They either need to ban her or errata her and lock her ability behind a certain type of units only.
does riftbound have staying power? riot has a tendency to kill their games relatively quickly so i'm not sure what their approach to this is considering it's a physical tabletop game

What possesses people to throw money away on kickstarting games that depend on player population to be playable? If you back a board game or book, you can at least use the garbage you eventually receive.Complete waste of money. Just give money to the scammer that calls you, similar benefit.
Because we like the game and want to see it become successful?
It won't be successful. Out of thousands, the closest to "successful" is Sorcery and it has a near zero player base and openly exists as an art project for collectors.
>>98907759Yah, sing it wit me, mon.We gonna put all de teeny creatures on de bottom of de deck.

>>98907858>you can at least use the garbage you eventually receive. Why do you have such a pessimistic view of crowd funded projects? It's not all garbage all the time, you know. Look at kingdom death, the Kickstarter that provided an even more premium experience and triple the content than was originally pitched. Adam Poots holds himself accountable to deliver the best possible rewards to his backers. Anyone that backed KDM is still getting goodies to this day and they paid a pittance for a pile of the most premium boardgame material ever produced. >>98908147KDM is literally the only KS that has overdelivered expectations like that. Even among successful board games, the number that are worth playing and aren't easily sourced for cheaper down the line are single digits - Root, KDM, Gloomhaven/Frosthaven, 7th Continent, maybe some of the Brass releases. Across more than a decade and thousands of "successful" Kickstarters. None of the books have been both worth it and not easily found at lower or same price at retail shortly after delivery. The odds are super against you, and even worse for TCGs that are so dependent on both LGSs and players to ever be worth getting into.

Public Domain art is a thing, and I've used it for an entire game that will be on store shelves by next year.Like I said in the last thread, you might want to consider making other games to generate a revenue stream before going out of your way to commission artwork for this game. >>98910099>300 card sets like MTG is retardedYet this is exactly what I am doing. Why would I want few cards in a TCG?It's a deckbuilder by the way. Works like this.>There is a hero card with 5 of 10 available skills with 25 heroes to choose from.>Skills are theme separated by skill name.>Spellcasting heroes can use spell cards.>Equip cards are equipped.>Players have 8 action points per turn to pay for cards played themed after dnd actions (8 is a full round action, 4 is an action, 3, 2, 1 cost, and 0 cost free actions).Basically, its dnd style hero combat in card form.
Was playing some rftg again after a long ass time away from it and I kind of think any card as resource / cards pay for cards works much better in a non constructed format. Reacting and pivoting from one idea to another versus holding on tight to what is probably a failing plan is always fun and triggers that 'one more time' sensation. With games that have rigid deck utility, it's not particularly exciting to ask "which part of my engine must I cripple first?" It's still interesting mechanically, but in tandem with deck draw, that Rosewater quote of 'players want to actually play their cards' resonates a bit (even if I'm a traditional blackie chucking half my deck into exile)Though supposedly there was a beta version / variant for RftG that was separate decks so I guess that would be a good way to test this theory
I don't know what's worse between the lolifags and the vtuberfags.

>>98910239The beta version was Tom's original Duel for the Stars CCG which we actually have no idea how it played. He asked if he could sign something for me, and I said "I have just the thing!"I pulled this card out of the sleeve for him, and he was impressed. He had already signed a few Mewtwo cards that day, but this was the oldest one he had seen. I asked him if he knew where it was from, and he didn't. >>98901318It's okay, but pretty clear they made "Welcome to Night City" intentionally weak to leave room for power creep. I feel like every Program needs to be one eddie cheaper to make up for the loss in card advantage. The "adjust gig value" cards should have been Draw 1 as a default rather than a conditional Draw 1. Also, might just be from me coming from Digimon and Doomtown, but one card draw a turn feels incredibly low tempo for a game that maxes out at 7 rounds. My predictions for how they're going to expand the design space.1: Programs that sell after play rather than going to trash.2:Banding keyword on units.3. Cards that reference min/max/pair and then force you to reroll the the gig value you referenced as a cost.4. Cards that act like Quests in WoW TCG, where you play them to the Sell field faceup, then get a reward and flip facedown once you achieve something.>>98902090>Not doing Mekton Zero>Not doing Gundam Senki>Not even doing collab licensing between Cyberpunk Red and Cyberpunk 2077.What the fuck is wrong with Mike Pondsmith that he isn't making hay while the sun shines? Rant. I began playing my first TCG game two months ago (Gundam) and it has been pretty fun so far. However, despite learning a lot since I began and finally finishing my first deck last night, I haven't won a single match that wasn't a bye. I wanted to start playing TCGs to have some fun outside home/work/uni, and my local scene is awesome, everyone is very kind and helpful. It's also a very strong scene who did well in some bigger tournaments.I had an event last night against someone who was even newer than me. I dominated the game until he had no shield cards left and I had like 5, but then he started popping my units and he had Suppression, so he ultimately won. I was respectful to him but left early because it honestly it got to me. I don't know what I'm doing so wrong everytime. I can win pretty consistently in the sims with the same deck, even against meta threats, but at locals it's always 0-3 or 0-4. Help?

>>98915753>They already admitted all 4 of these sets were made without external testing/feedbackthat's false. they did bring in players like brian kibler, who tested some but not all cards.kibler didn't get to test draven but he did test riven and even gave feedback saying the ability is too strong as it is but riot went ahead anyway
>>98916539As in originally you would be an elf mage or a human mage or an elf warrior but they cut the class types so now you are just a human or an elf, there are still dual type cards but they are 2 races, I don't think any of the cards in the game actually care about typing but it is an odd change to make from a flavor loss perspective (which even they said when they announced the change, they just decided less clutter on the card was worth the loss) it also reduces their options if they decided to make cards that care about type later.>anything of note about the projectI guess the nature of the setting as having a slightly modern military focus, still leaning more towards the fantasy sidealso probably one of the first real good attempts at anime style art in a card game from a western company
>>98916541>kiblerthats a name I havnt heard in years. didnt realize he was around still.
>>98915753>>98915520it'd be pretty unusual for any publisher to test out of house before release. managing NDAs and leaks even with a regular trusted group of playtesters is enough of a pain in the dick as it is.bit beside the point tho. why would anyone expect balance from an IP cashgrab tcg? thats not what you're buying.>>98915369>From my experience with Netrunner and X-wing, FFG games have the bad habit of attracting a community that will math out all the fun of a game.10 bucks says this is a fab apologist
riftbound is pretty fun but I feel like i cant keep track of everything well enoughgot 6 -> 8 in a single turn by other players like a lot of times already since I let them keep scoring while I play removal or build units or whatever
>>98916665>bit beside the point tho. why would anyone expect balance from an IP cashgrab tcg? thats not what you're buying.I wish people admitted this. You arnt playing a IP game because the game is good, your playing it because your religion of choice now has physical NFTs and a church to meet at weekly.
>>98916696That's several levels of reality too deep for most people to handle mentality.
>>98916641I guess since they're telling a factions based story having the faction be informing the class makes sense. Maybe they could add keyword affinity as class later though.
>>98915520>be excited to play the new evelynn>she's a strictly worse rengarYup.
>>98914942You mean ASMODEE killed FFG, specifically to make their investors a few dollars richer by cutting the fat. Capitalism was a mistake.
>>98916730crazy since something as low brow as even south park made episodes about it.
>>98916860>5c1p 6 might>reaction speed, can be played anywhere including even unoccupied battlefields>same cost, but less base might>uhhhh... you need to react with a hidden to even make me even with rengar statline but only for this turn
>>98916870>ASMODEE killed FFGx-wing was still under FFG when they made the 2.0 launch
>>98916946I tried my hardest to cope and find a single reason to play her and buy her alternate art to use her in my deck and I couldn't.
>>98916541What I meant was public feedback sorry, I was aware they had TCG players consult but didn't know kibler specifically did. I wasn't really trying to defend them with that post more to say it's absurd how unbalanced it is currently.I've been thinking since Radiance was fully spoiled about cashing out the few cards I've opened/bought and maybe coming back in a year. Riot don't really seem to understand what they even want the game to be right now and Dave Guskin is an insufferable fat pseud
>>98916952>Asmodee merger announced 2014>Xwing 2.0 launched 2018Tell me you're a fucking idiot without telling me you're a fucking idiot.
>>98917055If you're not playing, cash out any non-sig cards. Prices will drop when they remind people that rotation is happening, and the first four sets (plus origins) will rotate first in 2028.I hate that the new normal is 2 year rotation schedule for TCGs keeping only like 5-8 sets active at a time, but that's how it goes.
New UA Nikke deck
Some Priconnes.
>>98916880It's one thing to hear and see it, another to really accept it and reflect.
>>98917423>he bought a new nikke deck just as it comes out that the PC client for the game is compromised and has been since the 24thanon...
>>98916985i want to believe starting with legacy the sets will have better design and balance since we're still early in the game's life and the year 1 sets were all designed together at once, but riot doesn't give me the best of hope especially when they get feedback from top card game players and just ignore it, as well as having over 20+ years of card game history to reflect on for design
>>98915607> is there a reason why my dust isn't showing up?Does the event show up in your event history on your profile? The only time I've had something go awry is when the final results weren't submitted by one of the pairings, and the shop owner didn't manually end the event till a few days later.
>>98915520Less than 2 years in and already has the modern powercreep of the big 3 lol
>>98918229the big 3 are all better balanced than riftbound
You're releasing a new tcg. The first sets should be easy asf to balance. I see some of you fuckers defending the same company who fucked over 2XKO. Riot are a bunch of morons
riot didn't have the combined 200 years of game dev experience for riftbound like they did with league
>>98918309>fucked over 2xkoThat game didn't have anywhere near enough players to even be fucked over
New thread up, move at will>>98918396
>>98916946Sometimes cards are just going to be worse. Unless orange evelynn was pushed to hell and back she was never going to see play anyways. Personally I'd just redesign her. Something like>4e 4m>when you play a card from face down buff a unit you control>while I'm at a battlefield you may spend a buff to hide a cardNot perfect and could probably use tweaks but more interesting than current Evelynn.
>>98918404Why? We're only on page 8.
>>98916870Capitalism is the only reason we have games, commies would reserve all paper for bureaucratic pencil pushing. >b-but muh tetris The very first think Pajitnov did when he became a free man was move to the USA and start a capitalist company. If the USSR hadn't been mid collapse he'd been incarcerated for spending academy resources in the development of luxury items.
>>98917752C U T E
>>98917877I'm addicted to Nikkes...
>>98918954Bro you don't understand. It's never been tried. We just have to revolution harder.
>>98919063I wish we could go back to strict p2p trade for a year so all these idiotic faggots would die as nobody would give them shit for their useless "work".
