Congrats, your group's current Tabletop RPG campaign has been slated to get an animated adaptation. It's somehow either got the budget or interest enough that you have the means to pick any Voice Actor to play your character and give them the voice you've always envisioned them having. If you're a GM, then either choose a prominent allied NPC or the most prolific antagonist/villain in your game instead. So, /tg/, assuming any of you queers actually play TTRPGs and aren't lying little faggots, who are you hiring on to breathe life into your character in a way your fat, mouthbreathing, nasally ass could never?Nogames need not reply. If you aren't currently playing a game, don't bother replying. Either play games or fuck off.
>Congrats, your group's current Tabletop RPG campaign has been slated to get an animated adaptation>LancerThat sounds like an absolutely awful idea. So, I dunno, maybe DC Douglas? I'm pretty sure my character wants a quiet life, considering I wrote in his backstory that he wears a suit and tie because he went to the wrong job interview and got drafted for the army anyways.
>>98895554Revy's VA from the english dub of Black Lagoon, easy. Fits the bill perfectly, has just enough roughness. Maybe a bit higher pitched than I'd like but close enough.
>>98895554Ok, names for my PCs:>Sylvestre Boucquain the translator elf on the hunt of forgotten tomesBartosz Walaszek>Cellanus the doomed psyker with a gambling addictionBartosz Walaszek>Lucien Duchesne hapa pilot of hypersonic mechasBartosz Walaszek>Backjump, a fuckboy from Night City who likes to spray graffiti on 100m+ high buildingsBartosz Walaszek>Redith Grey a media reporter based in Night City with penchant for rocket launchers but without knowing how to operate them>Bartosz Walaszek (falsetto)
>>98895554Erin Fitzgerald did a good job as Agnès Oblige from Bravely Default, but it's hard to tell what anyone would sound doing a soft Indian accent.
>>98895554My campaign villain is voiced by Nick Offerman in my head.
>>98895554I tpk the campaign, burn the setting documents, my gm notes, and every players notes. All digital records are scoured and overwritten repeatedly. It is a better fate.
>>98895554Dunno any squeaky enough women who do southern accents so I'd have this random girl VA my Cute Redneck Elf>run this on x1.25https://www.youtube.com/shorts/STUSBUbqYic
>>98895554Amusingly enough I couldn't really point out to american VAs for my american character, not being a burgher and not listening to them. I probably could get an actress in my mind, but not that.
>>98895554Well, my Gundam was already themed as a Gundam AU (and its sequel!) so jokes on you because I already had voices picked not only in Japanese and English but they were era-appropriate voices for late '90s/early 2000s dubs. Anyway here's some sprites and mech development autism to provide some image to the post as opposed to AIslop of characters. These mechs were hand doodled.
>>98904254I should add, they were hand doodled but then made into sprites which I did in old MSpaint. Just to be clear.
>>98904254>>98904293These are absolutely adorable.
>>98904376Thanks. They were designed to be map token and to be scaled down, which is one reason for their lack of shading. I *could* have made them proper sprites with shading but these details got lost at a certain scale so I went with the shape and colors as a way to tell them apart on the battlefield.
>>98895554My full 'ganic cyberpunk swordsman would be voiced by John Messner.
>>98904293>>98904254This looks amazing
>>98895554Bard: Hynden Walch (Teen Titans Starfire)Monk: Sinder the hellhound (vtuber)Fighter: Henry Caville if he were southern AmericanBarbarian: jim cummings doing Minsc (i think that was him) Lancer Idol mech pilot: Alekirser (vtuber)
>>98908227 I could post more if people want.
>>98914015Go ahead
>>98895554Why are you shitting on nogames when animated shows are designed to appeal to them?
>>98914048Good old Zaku ripoff because every AU needs one to job and be a grunt.
>>98914084And every mook needs a hero mech to kill it.
>>98914072>t.nogamesHalf the appeal is being able to point at the show when it's obvious it's something that would happen at a table. That's half the fun of the modern D&D movie, because it actually feels like some shit a bunch of dipshit players would do at the table.Of course, you're going to lie out of your ass and say:>NOOOOO TTRPGS ARE LE SRS BUSINESS!!!!!But that just outs you as a nogames. TTRPGs are at their absolute best when it's you and your friends laughing and having fun, when someone does something funny and stupid and everyone just rolls with it and you get those organic moments of joy. Capturing those in animation would be a joy to anyone who actually plays or runs games with their friends, unless you're some faggot who's poisoned by irony and is incapable of understanding just how silly they can be. Get some self-awareness you queer.
>>98915484Most ttrpgs sadly aren't anything like a television program, and it's pretty obvious when you sit down to play. And I don't mean in that it's not fun or engaging, I mean in that it's not the kind of clean and squeaky fun you get from podcasts or animation. Most of those shows are to the point and filled with next to no dead air or wasted moments. The average group either sitting at a table or playing online will spend a huge chunk of its time on setup, people getting sidetracked, players stuttering or messing up their speeches and needing to redo them, people forgetting or debating particular rules, stalling the game flow so they can plan their moves carefully, or otherwise being human and faffing about because it's still a game. Stuff like the Modern D&D movie or the animated adaptations of Critical Roll are best thought of more like the highlight reels when it comes to how they portray an actual game, cause those "someone does something funny and stupid and everyone just rolls with it and you get those organic moments of joy" are often sandwiched between long periods where the game is paused for a bathroom break or someone is going on a tangent about nerd shit or someone wants to show off their new glow in the dark dice or something.
>>98895554Do the NPCs of foreverGMs count too? Maybe this sounds weird but for one particular NPC of mine, I'd choose this guy who recorded this vocaroo forever ago based on said NPC.https://voca.ro/1hGYXmYmWCyk
