I have some questions about Awakening.

I genuinely don't care for Underworld, Shadow and the three layers of Astral Realms and would rather there's just one. I imagine this would completely fuck the Death and Spirit Sphere though. I just really don't care for cross splat or reading Geist/Werewolf.

Legacies - Can I make someone join a Legacy whose inferior Arcanum suddenly gets turned into a Ruling Arcanum?

Factions - 2e waffles an awful lot about the Arrows, Free Council and Pentacle. Is there a document, official or unofficial, that gives a tighter elevator pitch? Like three paragraphs per faction maximum.

The primary appeal of Awakening is being able to dunk on and mock other splats. Due to the lack of a strong setting of its own, you're supposed to make up for it by raiding and pilfering other splats.

2e already has mage's supernal dimension be different from the "false" dimensions of other splats so their underworld isn't the same as the one in geist and the tremere are really pissed about the fae of false arcadia and want to wipe them out for some reason

mind you mage isn't alone in that in cofd htv also for example has the lucifuge say that sin eaters are full of shit and that as far as they can figure out have nothing to do with demons and the "real horsemen"

Yeah but from what I read in the core book, a lot of Death Sphere affects are mostly about the Fallen World Stygia than the Supernal world.

It's not that i hate these other splats, it's just that I do not like cross splat. But if it'd break the game too much to just limit everyone to the Astral Realms, then I guess games not for me.

This is also why I couldn't get into Ascension. Maybe I'll just stick with Ling.

yes, explicitly. It says "When you take a legacy whose ruling arcanum is a common or inferior arcanum for you, that arcanum becomes ruling."

This is the opposite of what it says. Arcadia isn't real but the Changeling Arcadia is. Supernal Arcadia is simply a "concept of platonic truths related to fate and time", not a place or dimension. They are very, very different concepts. This is why Arcadia can be "layered" on top of mundane reality. Whilst Dreaming Arcadia is a place you can go to.
Supernal Arcadia is something you have to become a symbol yourself to access "physically."

that's mostly because ghost where meant to be splat neutral blue book enemies but just like a lot of things that where meant to be in nwod i feel like communication in the writers room broke down somewhere in 2e and then geist, mummy and to a lesser degree demon all added more stuff to them without checking on what the others been doing. of course the same can be said about mage if you are playing another game geist and mage are kinda infamous about how the games don't work together cosmologically and thematically to the point where you'd think it's a owod discussion

but to get back to my point you are meant to be able to run necromancy and ghosts and all that just fine without picking up a geist or mummy or whatever book they just aren't as high tier ghost running around in the mortal world then and the underworld isn't as weird

that's why false is in qoutation marks. it is what some mages call it especially tremere because 2e made them splat hunters for some reason. i guess so nobody can escape tremere messing with them in either wod

In 1e, there's a book that explains that sometimes a mage will get confused and go to the Arcadia of changelings. The Gentry absolutely love when this happens, and what comes back, if anything, is irrevocably lessened. That's probably reason enough.

tremere see themselves as the masters of human souls and hate all the other monsters that mess with soul or prey on humans in any way because they see those as theirs to prey on. that's also why they are fine with promethans who neither have a soul to eat nor do anything with human souls
