Has your character ever been exiled from somewhere? What did they do?
DO exiled/banished characters ever really deserve to be banished? Why does no one write ones like this?
>>98908550Your much better off coming up with a backstory for the characters before play begins. And counterary to common thoughts, having a backstory is a great way to trough red herrings at the Referee whos shit at his job, as you can just ignore any parts of the backstory that come up during play like laying out some decoys that the Ref can't plan around when you 180 his plans. Being a loner whos exiled is great for that, since you can just say that no hes not and use modern talking points like player agency and xcards or whatever other schlock is added in modern gaming. Makes me laugh when people mention DM burnout and prep fatigue.
>>98908550Had a cleric that was from a noble house, in a theocracy that worshipped a specific deity. My cleric was raised to be a candidate as the next theocratical ruler, but he worshipped a different good-aligned deity, and was expelled from his noble house.Personally I didn't quite pick this story, but I tried to match it to the DMs setting. I just wanted to make a cleric that worshipped this deity, but the DM said in this region people worshipped that other deity, so we compromised and tried to make something that made sense to the setting.
>>98908550Less of a exiled but more of on a journey to prove their worth and join a secret society.
