TQ: post nongreen decks with no infinites

Anyone can make a nongreen deck with no infinitesimal. The issue is that they will likely not win.

Everlasting torment, so when you through gobos at people they need to decide if its worth blocking or take burn.
Cauldron of Souls or other effects, so when your non-token gobos come back with -1/-1 and give free burn.
Andúril, Narsil Reforged, obvious. Other army support.
Pick related. Makes goblins and its a free ping every turn and TGG doesn't care about what kind of counter.

I had Hammer of Purphuros out for Haste, whacked the Valgaroth dude with Hidetsugu for 4 along with a juiced up 5/5 Marionette Master equipped with a Skullclamp for 9 total damage, and the dude quit for some reason. The Boros Giant player disconnected, and I was able to Pinnacle Monk out enough removal to keep the Goreclaw player at bay. Eventually cast a Wurmcoil Engine to go from 1 life to 8, Reanimated one of his creatures to board to try and block his Goreclaw, and forgot he has Rogue's Passage. Of well.

(Basically put, Hidetsugu did fuck all, like he typically does without turbo combing him with infinite mana).

I did a toski deck for awhile but changed it to white green for Kwia. it was Voltron with lots of equipment. some auras, like strong back and rancor. (want to be connecting w/ opps for that combat card draw)

I didnt do too much with squirrel tribal but Chitter Spitter is useful to generate some squirrel tokens for blockers. Silent Arbiter a must. blackblade reforged, commander's plate, Sphere Grid, inventor's fair, all kinds of stuff.

lots of the green cards from the Tidus FFX deck are good picks. stuff for putting on +1/+1 counters. Some fun hidden tech: Avoid Fate & Riding the Dilu Horse (pic rel from MODO).

official nu-old border cards like the ones they did in mh3 tend to look terrible compared to real old borders. so as long as you do it better than wizards themselves did and dont use ai slop, it seems like one of the cooler ways to proxy. using the oracle text and old symbols is probably the best way to do the text, as cool as making it read like an old card sounds

does anyone know if you order "pre released" cards, for example now would be mystery booster commander cards from TCGplayer or Mana Pool if the people ship them out right away or are they "supposed to" wait until the release date? LGS' sell packs on the pre-release date and I guess those sellers are all like independent shops.

but I wonder if it would be worth paying a mark up on a card or two now to be the real cool guy this weekend at commander night (one seller I know ships like almost over night practically)

How do you tell someone that they're not really getting the spirit of the format?
One guy in my playgroup constantly plays combo colorslop (Galazeth, Teval) and it's super annoying to play against because he always wins in the lategame and has tons of counterspells/removal to stop anyone from winning before him.
Recently we agreed to do an all monocolor deck night (mostly so he couldn't play colorslop) and he immediately went for Inferno of Star Mounts and just started generating tons of mana by abusing OP cards like picrel and attacking every turn. He didn't see anything wrong with doing a combo to make his commander do 40 damage in one turn when we're supposed to be playing relaxed casual decks.
>>
>>98914999
It is the same fucking retard every single time. See how he INSTANTLY transitions his criticism from AI art to proxies? That's his whole goal there, to falseflag proxiers
>>
>>98915026

>>
>>98915037
Absolutely. So please mark your playtesting proxies clearly to ensure they aren't confused with real cards. Also it is best to make them at home or at least use a local service to not support grift by foreign actors.

Now keep my post numbers out of your mouth philistine.

>and people start having to pay for their compute it'll be chicken soup for my soul.
Pretty sure a lot of models and software is already paywalled.
CivitAI is pay to play, but they used to have a large database of loras and models for people to be able to just make an account and download for themselves for localization and now those are starting to get paywalled.
However, you can already find those for free on other sites. as well as software that they want to you pay for.
Digital piracy is always going to be a thing that can be worked around, and it has been for decades now, so people who really want to gen for free will find a way to gen for free.

>perfect randomization

Stop. No seriously; this isn't even a funny joke. Firstly, no one wants "perfect randomization", they say they do, but they don't really understand what that means. A deck "perfectly randomized" can be a stack of 37 lands on top of 62 cards; it's an equally likely outcome to every other possible order. What we want when a deck is shuffled is "sufficiently randomized in an unknown order". Our shuffling methods are unlikely to randomly order our decks into perfect and unplayable stacks by chance, or produce perfectly convenient distributions either; yes, including the mash shuffle diagram presented.

That shuffling relies on impossible assumptions; firstly, that when one mash shuffles that cards will interweave perfectly in a 1:1 order, which even if your deck was half lands and half-nonlands would not happen perfectly even if you had master-magician grade card manipulation skills. Doing it repeatedly in the same perfect fashion is even less probable, and likely should not be attempted, as to get the mash shuffle to behave appropriately the shuffling player is generally going to want to cut or reorient piles of their cards. Of course, recognizing true randomness is very difficult for people to do and thus these magic numbers arise.

You want to mash shuffle several times not because it redistributes your lands and spells, but because it becomes sufficiently random at that point based on the irregularity of the technique and piles. You also pile shuffle and riffle shuffle a certain number of times for the same reason. If any of these shuffling methods were to result in even distributions of lands and spells, they would be non-random and unsuitable for the goal of randomizing the deck.

If you are getting mana screwed or flooded, the problem is your deck, not your shuffle. Adjust your ratio and run more draw so help me god and stop perpetuating these weird superstitions.

Boosting her to at least nine and attacking and when she's clear give her Tainted Strike for that last additional one power and infect to take out one player, then get her end phase trigger to sacrifice something with ten or more power then copy the trigger with a Strionic Resonator or some other copier to take out the last two players. If you mana weave and it meaningfully altered the distribution of your cards, you are stacking your deck.
If you mana weave and it didn't meaningfully alter the distribution of your cards, you are wasting everyone's time.

And also astronomically unlikely compared to the number of outcomes that fall under "a good mix of lands and nonlands".

I stack my deck in front of everyone and when some newfag points this out I remind them this has the same probability as any other configuration of cards.
>>
>>98916401
NTA but go from sorted to proper random takes a lot of shuffling, and that's when weaving is needed, but for all card types, it cuts a dozen or more iterations out of the shuffle

the fact that they even thought of changing how slivers looked - because god forbid their design bored their 'artistic' sensibilities, instead of thinking long term on how their iconic design can be used to market the game - was just a precursor to how wotc is basically incompetent in managing their IP and why UB exists in the first place

I would like to post about Magic Arena.

Do you play Magic Arena? (I have a theory that Commander players and Arena players are basically two different groups, evidenced by how back in the day at the LGS people would open packs and hand away their Arena code-cards like they were worthless)

What is your preferred format on the Arena client?

Do you think it is worth it to jump back into attempting to play and care about Standard format on the Magic Arena client once the Star Trek set releases? (I'm thinking of maybe putting Arena on the backburner for a moment?)

Thank you for reading my post have a blessed day.

This isn't how that played out at all. The nuSlivers were going to be an entirely new creature type, but everyone was already mechanically comparing them to Slivers in testing, so they just but the bullet and make the text change (which is WAY cheaper than paying artists all over again).

I played lifegain in a saandard meta before, because 30+ life turn 3, 60+ turn 5 then 130+ turn 7 eventually makes any opponent concede.

Wait, no, you aren't ruinging cards.
You're just fantasizing about it.
If you did it to a kid, you'd be banned from the LGS, if you did it to a man you'd have your ass beat.
>>
The back-and-forth in this thread reminds me of this one autist who gave me a hard time because the way I shuffle is too close to a pile shuffle. So I started adding in some overhand shuffles as I coalesce all my piles together.

Shuffling 99 card decks is hard, I have clumsy lil' girl hands, and I don't want to damage my cards accidentally when shuffling. I am not trying to be malicious I swear.

If a sweaty LGS-goer insisted on shuffling my deck and did a ripple-shuffle I would freak out. I would probably cry, and leave the store.

Well, I keep bashing my head against this living weapons deck. Prolly gonna be a few weeks of tweaking to get it right. Ignore the Karn jpeg overlay and the new kitten who was curious about the cards.

There's just not enough slots for everything I'd like to include. As 5-color slop there are a LOT of different avenues the deck can go. It has a small flicker package/subtheme, since the "For Mirrodin" equips make 2/2s and the manifest dread/cloak equips can put big creatures facedown. Not to mention your commander is a potential draw 5 just sitting there in the command zone.

I love how multifaceted a lot of cards are in the deck. Ronin, Shadow Stalker and Dalkos are both 3-mana ramp dorks. But the former is also removal when needed, and the latter is the strongest evasion piece in the entire deck for when you want to get aggressive. A lot of your big flashy guys are also human, meaning Winota is randomly explosive. All the living weapon tokens are non-human and therefore trigger her on attack.

At the bottom is a small maybeboard, but everything is really tangential/preference. I DO have a Springleaf Parade and Nahiri, Forged in Fury waiting at the LGS for me. And I'd appreciate any advice on cuts for those two at least. The deck's already extremely cluttered and greedy cramming synergistic cards I like, but it's fun as fuck to build.

Ive played modern for years up to PT's and RC's and this is jot true. If anyone riffled an opps deck you can and I have seen judges called. parts of a riffle shuffle to those at the back:
1. the grip

Damn weird Jerry you win. You just had to hold everyone to watch your 30 min videos, bend every deck in your vicinity to riffle shuffle, and spend another 20 min to resolve a praetor's grasp, plus the time I need now to shuffle 12 times because you put my deck in a weird order (which I will very much use to accuse you of foul intentions). Remember you have to do this every time because you don't know who might have or have not weaved at home. All very normal and sane behavior, which is sure to have locals flocking to you for games.
All that after the hour long videos of Gavin of course. It's quite entertaining leading your delulu ramblinga around tifa anon ;)

Thanks, genuinely no idea if it'll work. I somehow feel like 21 living weapon effects is insufficient. All the synergy pieces surrounding them are too cute to pass up on, though. It's been giving me huge choice paralysis.

Issues I foresee with the deck in its current incarnation
>minimal evasion for a go-wide strategy
>no board wipes besides cyc rift
>slow starts with little recourse for explosive elfball/any-variety-of-snowball strategies
>incidental life loss off greedy mana base with minimal life gain (likely need to slot in Shadowspear and/or Batterskull)

It's not a flicker deck so much as it benefits from mass flicker effects. Displacer Kitten creates bleak play patterns, and I don't want to run a gay combo deck, which Displacer Kitten invariably makes this into since a draw 5 etb lives in your command zone.

The Tangleweave Armor is a living weapon, but I digress. It's more otag:living-weapon in the Scryfall sense. Living weapon is just a good shorthand for the mechanic over "equipment that makes a creature token on enter and auto-equips."
>>
I'm just going to accuse anyone with Sol Ring Signet start of cheating.
>>
>>98917662
Don't need to prove anything, the precedent is set.
Much like 100% full face alters have been approved by that top level tourney guy who ran a swan song with painted name, cost and image.
it could have been a basic land and there's no way to tell, but it's now a tourney legal level of alteration.
>>
>>98917709
mtr 3.3 states that the head judge is the final authority and good luck proving that all of them think alike regarding full face alters
and yes you do need to prove damages that i damaged your double sleeved 60 card in a riffle that didn't even do the cascade finish, nice larp being a litigious nuisance
>>
>>98917309
Alright, after some goldfishing this deck feels pretty solid for what it's doing. Definitely feels like you can flood/brick on living weapons though which is frustrating.

>>
>>98917883
Not sure how saying he's not upping infect to 20 or removing commander damage invalidates the bracket guidelines
Does he say that specifically later on?
>>
>>98916930
Boros Reckoner plus [Indestructible] is not a true 2 card infinite because you need 1 or 2 other cards giving the Reckoner Lifelink + Damage in order to make infinite life (which is one of the worst results of an infinite btw)
>>
>>98917852
And the judge won't riffle.
If the judge also gets pissed off because your refusal to not riffle someone else's cards keeps taking their time, you could easily get kicked from the event
Anyway this is all hypothetical because you're an online armchair secondary who has never been to an event, all you've got is your document, not experience.
>>
>>98917904
limiting infect and commander damage to later turns dramatically affects the deck and makes one even think why would even bother instead of just comboing off and killing everyone instead
and you can't exactly tell certain commanders like green tifa or skittles to do their damage 'piecemeal', many of them are all or nothing
>>
>>98917915
i don't care if the judge riffles or not, point is you can't make me shuffle the way you want me to, tough luck

Did a draft tonight at a buddies house instead of going to play commander at the lgs. I managed to win the whole thing and it was a lore more fun than I remember it being especially with a set this lackluster. Though, empower jace was a lot more powerful than I gave it credit for, at least in limited.

Anyway. managed to draft all these of these bitches with 2 copies of both the saheelis and god damn. Value city. Think I found my new commander project.

Thanks for reading my blog.

That's because all the good B cards get banned because of casuals.

Btw, I'm trying to find an Instant or Sorcery that can end games, and outside of X spells, literally nothing exists.

>Doppelgang
X spell

>Final Parting
This is a tutor, not a game winning spell

>Approach of the Second Sun
Funny how Green and White have the most Win condition strategies in Bracket 1-3.

if your deck can't win after casting final parting I don't know what to say

Think of pauper bro!

You didn't answer the question. I asked for an Instant or Sorcery that isn't an X spell that can realistically win the game, not a card that fetches another card.

I feel like I should make these style of slop proxies

It most importantly fetches /two/ other cards.

Do you will think it will be fun?
If yes, then have at it. Post results.

And it still doesn't meet the prerequisites in place. I didn't ask for, "What's a strong card?" I asked, very specifically,
>What Instant or Sorcery that can end games?
Final Parting does not do this. What you find with it probably can. WHAT ARE YOU FINDING WITH IT?

Some of you are hilariously stuck in 2015 Commander.

Million mana, do the thing, is EDH.
