>>98916032Brutalism is extremely underrated because people confuse it with soc-modernism and concrete jungle fever.

Dinotopia has a few problems with its worldbuilding (namely that it's a little too utopian for anything interesting to happen), but otherwise it's a great source for "what if I added Dinosaurs to my setting?"
>>98918230Nah, the amount of conflict is ok. It's just that it's confined in Lee Crabb.
>>98918289That's what I don't like. Lee Crabb himself is great, but it's always "and then Lee Crabb does something petty/stupid that nobody actually cares about because he's just one dude". Zero stakes. If I were to redesign Dinotopia, I'd split the whole island up into various nation states that used to go to war, don't really anymore, but there are a few ambitious and unscrupulous people who want to change that. Same state of utopia, just more opportunities for conflict (that characters put a stop to).
>>98918298It's not an RPG setting. Just enjoy the milieu and the occasional bildungsroman.
>>98918331I'm not talking about it from an RPG perspective, I'm talking about it as a book. There's a reason why the franchise never fully took off.
>>98918345It did, anon. 18 novels. Not everything needs to be JKR-level of money making.(Myself I have the strange feeling that Dinotopia could be a pretty cool iyashikei, but whatever)
>>98918370> iyashikeiSorry I don't speak sushi, what is that?
