The captain left the bridge but he will return!
>>98917542>Anything EuroslopOk, than i know which post was from you in the last thread.
>>98917548You would be wrong though
>>98917542>Dune boardgameThere seems to be several?
I had never watched Star Trek before so I watched a few episodes of TNG. I don't mind soft science fiction, but it's much harder to suspend my disbelief for things like>we're going to send a ship explore the unknown corner of space, where death is possible at every corner>btw there's families and children on this shipor>a teenager took control of control of the ship in like two minutes by falsifying the captain's voice.

>>98917542>Stationfalldo you have players allergic to lots of rules that seemingly only come up once in a blue moon, but whose existance ensures the game stays fun and tense because you all know what would happen if that rule were to come up? does your playgroup look at Pax Renaissance and say "the path to the victory conditions is too straight forward, i wish it had one or two more layers of obfuscation to it!"? do you like Space Station 13, or at least the idea of it? if you answered no, yes, and yes, then you should get it.
Does /bgg/ own any all-in big boxes?
>>98917603No?>>98917616Sounds cool, I will buy it and then table it 2 times a year if that
>>98917600The ant-Eurogames see,s very rare.>>98917611It is a little bit like a real Wild West Trek. But even today families of soldiers travel with them when they go to army bases outside ot the country. The biggest thing i had to accept with Star Trek is that the captain is alway at the forefront.
>>98917626There are. I searched for some pics to illustrate your post, than i found seceral versions.
>>98917611I love TNG but it, like all Trek I've seen, varies wildly in quality. TNG is extremely, and I do mean *extremely* bad for like the first 2 seasons straight. If I hadn't seen the measure of a man randomly I'd assume TNG was just memes and quit like 5 episodes in.It's very good when it's good. But don't listen to the utter cope STt is somehow hard sci fi
>>98917639This is the only dune boardgame though
Gonna order a complete Onitama deck soon, probably. I still have 6 leftover spots, maybe I can stick a few fanmade patterns in it.
>made a board game group on Aftergame/Kallax and already got a few positive replies on the local FB groupsWish me luck anons! I need to get more games though, luckily the venue we chose has a small library already.
>>98917618I'm waiting for a fucking Bullet big box, I'm not buying a bunch of smaller boxes!
>>98917628>>98917655Thanks anons, maybe I'll look at the later seasons sometimes. To get back to the subject, what do you think is Azad (the game in Player of Games) is like? Civilization on steroids?
>>98917639people only care about the Avalon hill Dune game (your pic is the gf9 reprint) though.
Yay or Nay?
>>98917527>Favourite sci-fi gamePlanetarium currently. Great mix of mechanics, theme, production values and hidden player information. Really like it and roving planetoids around collecting lumps of matter. >Best scifi franchise The Expanse was a surprisingly good asymmetrical COIN lite that works with people who haven't seen the show or read the books. I hear Battlestar Galactica is good too but haven't gotten to play it. >immersion Haven't had this problem, its a board game not a film or a ttrpg. >other good scifi games Reworld is quite neat. The two stage game and ship stacking pieces that turn into parts of your colony are a fun concept, only played it once but I think its got depth to it. Race for the Galaxy still holds a place in my heart even though card games aren't as interesting to me personally anymore.
>>98917773Is Bullet even good? Looks like anime slop
Gentlemen, after pouring hundreds of hours into this project, it is with great pleasure that I present to you the new and improved Root Faction Chart. Constructive criticism and suggestions are always welcome.
>>98917999If you don't like anime, then no you'd probably hate it regardless. Don't worry about it.
>>98917999its a fun puzzler, the anime thing is mostly aesthetics on the side, main gameplay is closer to Tetris or PuyoPuyo in that shit falls from the top, make it into patterns with abilities, and patterns clear the shit off the board and send it to the next guy to your left.
So a while back I was asking for opinions on the two simultaneous GOTYs of 2025 and decided to get them both.We tried Hot Streak first, and it was a pleasant surprise. Goofy and random to be sure, but because the match is limited to a (partially rotating) set of cards, there is something to think about in the game, bluffing about whether some turn-around card is in, and so on. The races were, I hesitate to say nail-biters, but close to it - and the players actively cheered for the mascots. Then we tried Magical Athlete, and it's basically about what I expected. The draft is not deep, some of the athletes suck, some are great, and some are situational, and the races were much less involved for the players despite the pretense of rolling dice. Plus in one race we got a Scoocher/Suckerfish combo which left a bad taste in my mouth. It was fun in that "play Genius and guess your dice correctly four times in a row" way (which happened to me), but really the game is JUST random stupidity.Hot Streak wins, hands down.>>98917763Good luck bro.
>>989179991. It has a reasonable setup-to-completion time, so it's easy to get to the table2. The puzzle gameplay is simple enough to immediately grasp/teach, but the sequencing and risk management take time to master3. The VS mode is relatively novel in that it is timed4. The Boss Battle mode on the other hand is quite pleasant even at 1p5. Between the Heroines you get in either base set and the fan made ones you get a lot of replayability even without buying expansions6. The girls are cute, but you can play as cats if you have an aversion to anime women
>watch several instructional videos of new board game you want to play/buy>play a game or two against yourself in tabletop simulator or boardgamearena>if you enjoy it still, proceed to buying it
>>98917618I have the bullet big box and the broken token (remember them?) crate for spirit island. Also the Devastation box for Battlecon is so large i have all the regular roster for War/Devastation/Fates inside.
>>98917689For you. But i found at least 15th games. There seems to be two newer game series. This >>98917612 and >>98917603.
>>98917882Never heard of it before last thread.
>>98917618Galaxy Trucker
>>98917618Kemet.
Give me some /bg/ memes or something to put on this LFG flyer, it looks boring.
>>98918983I have no clue what format would be appropriate for your needs so, you get what you get.
>>98918983
Is it worth it to get the Kelp all in deluxe edition?
>>98917747onitama is so trite why are you wasting your timealso there is more to it than the game patterns, so what is the point?
>>98917763meetup is better. also don't overlook nextdoor. the least success I've ever had is bbs at the flgs. good luck.also you shouldn't worry about the games, the table is the hard pull, let guests worry about bringing the games for now.
>>98917999I hate bullet but I love to play. It's real time pattern matching with a blind draw bag. Each girl (or cat) has their own sort of twist and some are barely related to the gameplay. I cannot tell if the characters are balanced as I always seem to dominate my co-players and I'm not sure if it's me being gud or me picking girls that have OP patterns. Not that I always win but I do seem to dominate. idk it's weird, I wouldn't buy it and I don't want to play it but it's always fun to dominate.OTOH I love millenium blades in theory but I fucking hate to play.Jisogi I both like and enjoy playing. You know, if you want anime slop.
>>98919043$45 dollars for HAM?
>>98919178Meetup sucks dick and they jacked their prices way up if you want to host anything.
>>98918983If they are not politically correct faggots then >>98918039
>>98919436the art is fucking stupid. who would put a grid system of roads and buildings on an asteroid of that size, it's not fucking new york it doesn't have an atmosphere. I'd kick that artist in the nuts if it wasn't AI slop. fuck I hate this timeline
>>98917603The two that everyone talks about are the 6 player OG one and Dune Imperium.
>>98917527>Which is your favourite Sci-Fi game?Terraforming Mars. If that's not Sci-Fi enough for you, I have the first edition of Eclipse with all the expansions.
