If a succubus was pretending to be a lawful good paladin long term would this so some kind of psychological damage to the demon? Would they get some sort of the departed style break down from it?
>>98922679Why would it?
>>98922943Evil being having to mime acting good
>>98922948Please actually play a traditional game before making these retarded threads
>>98922679No, because from the Succubi's perspective this is just kinky roleplay.
>>98922679Generally speaking, no. For one because fiends are ageless, so even ruse going on for a century is not really "long term" from their perspective, and two, because they are naturally born deceivers, so they are perfectly comfortable living a false life for any length of time.Possible exception for weak and inexperienced one, but "average" succubus will have no issue whatsoever.
>>98922679I feel like any setting where they're that dramatic about good and evil would also be one where a demon would burst into flames upon entering a church (if they can even enter a church at all) and holding a holy symbol is like holding a red hot branding iron by the business end.
You know, actually demons/fiends/devils getting a power loss from not doing evil shit when incognito on Earth isn't a terrible idea. Like, yeah, you theoretically have all the time to corrupt the king or whatever, but ACTUALLY you need to cause a nasty bar brawl every other day or you get -1 to your stats. Definitely not true by raw tough. You don't lose your good status if you don't help an old woman crossing the street every day, on the other side of the allignment. which sounds fair.
>>98922679>would lying be a problem for an entity of liesUh no.
>>98923480Still it is inhabiting a fictional construct with behavioral impulses completely alien to itself. It has to have empathy with the decisions that this lawful good character it is playing would have. It seems to me that coming to be able to think like a paladin intuitively would be mentally damaging and cause a dissociative identity type crack let alone the damage from doing good when its a monster made of bad
>>98922679They'd quickly be found out because they wouldn't be able to cast any good spells and someone would sus them out with detect good or evil.>erm aschually paladins don't rely on good deities anymore and detect good and evil doesn't actually detect evilWell if we're framing the question through nufantasy who gives a fuck it's all just nonsensical flavorless far left redditslop where the point is to feed into somebody else's mental illness without yuckin their yum
>>98923780could good deities corrupt an evil one in older D&D?
>>98923780>>erm aschually paladins don't rely on good deities anymoreThis was only ever the case in Faerun where all magic of all varieties relies on gods and 4e where paladins were imbued by a single church directly. In their original incarnation they were knights in shining armor whose entire point was chivalry irrespective of religion (they were required to support members of any and all good causes including nobility and clergy of all good religions equally), then they became alignment-based weirdos in 3.X, then 5e made them oath based again with chivalry being one of the options.Paladins are not priests.
>>98923766>It has to have empathyNo, it just has to pass as having empathy, which high functioning psychopaths are capable of.
>>98923826They still struggle and make wildly off base calculations of what a normie would do. look at Zuckerburg
Rather this than would you fuck a sphinx stay alive
Are succubi immortal in DnD
>>98926829Kinda. Fiends slain in Prime Material plane get "banished" and return to their plane of origin, when slain in their plane of origin they die for real. (But after dying for real might still be brought back with high level magic, because DnD).
